Enjoyed it more than I thought. Not really my genre but thought that the songs were catchy and plenty going on in the background
Really a record of two halves. The first was average at best. She is not the best singer in the world, especially when she goes to high pitch.
The second half I really enjoyed it didn't seem so forced
Not the Sabbath lp I was expecting. The first song at 8 mins nearly broke me as I'm not one for guitar and drum solos.
However the lp was great from then on in.
Ozzy was excellent accompanied by crunching riffs.
The lighter songs broke the lp up nicely with light and shade.
Onwards to the second song. Repeat of 1st song. Long tuneless and long. There is no escape as it wanders tuneless through your head.
Tweet, tweet, biddle be, hoot tweet. And under no circumstances should any of this be enjoyable.
3rd song only 17 minutes. I have only gave them my name rank and serial number.
No chore here. Not an expert but I can def here led Zepplin and Rolling Stones vibes
Im missing something. Sounds like 3 people who have never met playing different pieces of music. Maybe that the point.
It's live and people talking in the background no wonder.
Not nearly as bad as Miles Davis it was twice the length. However far from enjoyable. Safe to say jazz not my thing. I'm dreading the prog albums.
Think they are putting the music I like least at the start of the challange. First 6 albums 3 jazz with little or no lyrics.
This is like elevator music. It tinkles about in the back ground without grabbing you.
Here we go again. Anyone says they like this are fooling themselves.
In the first song there's a drum solo of sorts. He just randomly hits various drums. No rhythm or tune. Maybe that's asking to much.
This can't be one of the greatest albums ever it is rubbish. The Emperors New Clothes.
8 albums in and 4 have been jazz. Still only giving my name rank and serial number but could give up the invasion plans at any moment
The last track is very apt I Surrender Dear.
The algorithm hates me. 9 albums in 5 have been jazz. Saw Chicargo thought might be alright.
At least their is some singing. However still the tuneless playing. Song two Does Anybody Really Know starts with what sounds like a monkey playing the piano.
Hold on we have an actual song. Praise the gods of music.
Curates egg. Free Form Guitar is as bad as expected list of messing about and feed back. Why?
After 4 jazz records in a row this is like manna from heaven.
Songs with a structure and a tune.
Lyrics as well some great song writing throughout.
Definitely some grunge in the guitar work at play.
A game of two half's. Really enjoyed first lp would give it a 4. Second half is alright but don't know why this was a double lp.
What an excellent band. The title sums it up live and dangerous
Great riffs, vocals and lyrics. Every song excellent am toying going for my first 5.
Another live album. My only gripe with this type of music is why every song needs to be so long.
For instance The Mule seems like a 10 minute drum solo. Granted the crowd seem to like it however it always seems artifical and redundant.
The organ us a strange choice in a ro k band probably dates back to 60s roots.
The last track nearly 20 mins with an organ piece. Philistine that I am do songs really need to be over 4 min max.
Good hard Rock riffs. The high pitched singing can get a bit much.
Not a chore to listen to but don't think I would revisit.
Showing my ignorance having heard of the xx. Excellent album beautiful music and the interplay of the vocals is mesmerising.
Again the word that comes to mind is beautiful.
On safer ground here an album iv heard before and liked.
Listening again I can see why I like it reminds me off one of my favourite bands the Only Ones. Can hear a bit of Mick Jagger in Tom's voice.
Have got a run of albums I like must be softening me up for some jazz
Was always curious why rock, metal and prog bands have song of over 6 minutes.
The song is usually fine except for the 5 or 6 minutes titting about on the guitar or even worse the drums.
Clearly early Sabbath and the lyrics reflect this about Lucifer.
Good listen except I would trim the length of song of the songs
Was going OK until Sunshine when the tuneless nonsense started. However the next 3 songs were really good. I wish the site was out of ten as its hard to distinguish .
Music you grew up with. Always on the radio. However it's hard to overlook his outside interests. I'm afraid I can't.
Great opening song. What a wonderful album. Often seen it and knew a few of the songs. But the whole album is woven together beautiful. A five star.
Jazz nice. Or not. By far not the worse jazz album iv generated.
Some of these songs were enjoyable and had a tune.
However one of the tracks sounded like a bee trapped in a bottle.
Not for me but tolerable.
I know Blur from the singles and Cool Britania. First listen to the album and am surprised at the variation. The wonderful Badhead which takes me back to the 60s Kinks.. Followed by an oompah band on the Debt Collector genius.
The big question 4 or 5.
It's Ray Charles. The voice is supreme you could listen to him sing the phone book. One of my favourite songs You Don't Know Me is there in all its glory.
Don't much care for the backing vocals however his piano playing and the orchestra is brillant.
Everything I like jangly guitars and good lyrics. They remind me of someone can't quite place. Def 60s maybe not individual band but the sound.
Happy days. Love Joan Great voice and songs. Just shows you don't have to over complicate things
Dull and repetive anti music that squacks and squeals in the back ground. Again why do they need 6 minutes to say the little they have in 3 minutes.
Find his voice very annoying as well.
I thought I would have liked this but alas no
Who thought what we need is a double album. We haven't enough songs. I know let's extend a lot of them for no good reason.
What a voice what a talent what a loss.
This album is magnificent dripping with longing and heartbreak.
You are transported back in time to clubs in the 50s. Dripping with elegance and anguish.
The opening track is a deal breaker 20 mins for what.
Having said that the 5 songs are reasonable. However that voice is awful especially when we go full stretch.
Not as bad as I thought going in minus the 20 minute caveat.
Really like the Cars. Excellent album cover. Came out in 78 deep I to my punk rock. However has the new decade arrived started listening to them more.
Really like the 50s rock n roll sound and the energy.
A good high 4 pity no half points
Dusty just singing. What more could a man ask for.
Thought her version of 24 hrs from Tulsa was sublime.
Listened to the deluxe version 55 minutes all in. Other groups take note 10 minute songs can get quite boring
Enjoying the second half more. Maybe getting used to their sound. Great voice and I like the heavy riffs then melodic vocals.
Thought I would like it heard first few numbers and was wavering however got so much better as progressed.
To me a child of the 70s Steely Dan represented that boring middle of the road. Not on a par with hated groups like Yes and ELP.
Just background music not much going on. Like Rikkie probably from years of hearing it. The rest is OK with short to the point songs.
Did I dislike it? No
Did I like it? No
A cert 3
Never heard of this artist. From the art work I was expecting a Kraftwerking vibe.
So was somewhat surprised when kit turned out rap album
I have been finding since I started this adventure that there are some things I don't like jazz and anything adjacent.
Long songs and high pitched screaming.
Strangely I have found I like the rap records which has surprised no one more than me.
I enjoyed this album not an all time favourite but loved the beats and the lyrics
Brillant album. The mesmerising rhythm that flow across the record. Fantastic 5
Well didn't know what to expect but didn't think it would be a trip back to 70s punk.
All I could hear the whole way through was the early Damned.
Isn't fey in here. It screams 60s. Enjoyable enough if your in the mood. Would imagine would get annoying on a lot of listens.
Further in now it's annoying on the first listen.
This has not aged well and between long rambling song and twee fairy tales it dosent really hang together
Right lads how do we make this a big finish. Wind chimes, clanging and incomprehensible shouting
My introduction to the Stooges was around 78. Was a punk my Zepplin inclined friend said I should listen to the first Stooges LP. I made a few disparaging remarks about 20 minute drum solos and long hair. Anyway I borrowed said album and everything made sense. The true inspiration of punk.
On safer ground here with the grandfather of punk. Iggy in fine voice and blistering riffs.
Well I didn't know what to expect but it certainly wasn't this.
I thought it would be some avant-garde plinky plonking. I instead got late whimsical Beatles crossed with Manhattan Transfer. Not unpleasant but certainly nothing special.
Grooooveyy baby. First things first She Comes in Colours is the Madonna song inspiration in Austin Powers.
Good they liked a flute back in the day.
I can picture the guy who played Hitler in the Producers singing these songs.
Sooo pleasantly tripping along to side 1then the reaslation hits the last song is 19 minutes I assume all side 2.
Well he feels alright Dadio
Well not my scene but definitely not unlistenable to. Seen it described as background music and must say I feel the same. Can't say I would ever listen again but would give a 2.
This must have went under the radar in uk. I say that as Tiny Dancer wasn't a hit in the UK.
Was wondering how this would hold up as lp as I knew Elton from his singles. It was very good except for one track I which Elton becomes a native American.
I liked the gospel tinged elements that hold up very well.
Must decide a 3 or 4. Hedging towards a 4.
In the 80s when Westend girl arrived it screamed one hit wonder. I was wrong as they continue.
I like them esp Neill annunciation for all he is worth. Some great songs although he does get a bit overwrought at times.
A fine album.
