Great and hilarious

Surprisingly excellent! I didn't think I'd be into big but I was mesmerised!

I think for me to appreciate this album more, I'd need to have a better understanding of what was happening culturally at the time. While not a bad album, I just didn't vibe with it.

I could hear tinges of my favourite artists in this. Not quite what I'd normally listen to but I felt connected to it. Quite surprised!

I might need to sit on this one for a little bit, it didn't catch me on the first listen but I hear something in it that's cool.

Another one of those that I might have to sit with, but the initial impression was quite positive.

Bit of a black horse... I went into it knitting that I didn't mind the beach boys but not something I'd seek out. This album was surprisingly varied and deep.

I'm not the target audience for this type of release. That being said, it was nice.

This is SICK! Whoever says it's a hard listen is trying to listen too hard, just relax and be with it.

A little nutty and full of machismo. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Just gritty

Unfortunately this wasn't at all for me.

It wasn't without its cool moments, very jammy and odd which I liked. Lots of expression. It never quite seemed to take off except for maybe a couple of tracks but perhaps that's the point. Music to listen to when you don't really want to listen to anything in particular?

I'm not sure why I didn't listen to this sooner, it's right up my alley! Odd and pretty in so many ways.

I understand that it was a landmark release and it spoke volumes about the zeitgeist of the late 80s/90s, but on a musical level it just didn't hit me and honestly I feel like I'm a bad person for thinking that.

I hated the title track with a passion. But by the time I got to bottle of smoke I was laughing.

Punky grungy fun

I got up to hot thing before noping out. I appreciate the attention to detail and the one man bandiness of it all, but it's all so incredibly stiff. The run time is kinda ludicrous for what was going on and pretty self indulgent. I can see there's a lot to appreciate monument wise but it's not for me.

Need to sit with it more but it's cool. Doesn't set my ass on fire but it's fine

This album is a bit tragic because it could have been incredible. The production is kind of, off. The best way I can think to describe it is like Ute's vocals were pasted on top of something intended to be an instrumental and the vocal production was haphazard. Coupled with an apparent lack of someone producing the vocal performances, it all comes off as somewhat unnatural and unbalanced. It sucks because the underlying idea of this album had solid bones to work with. .... The case continues is rad!

I didn't know what to expect but this was quite lovely and gentle.

Optimistic and fun

I got to song 2 before noping out. The first song was stupid, about getting stoned. The second had a super long obnoxious harmonica part that made me want to quit this 1001 album thing.

I didn't mind it. The cover art is abhorrent but the music is pleasant.

Actually liked it which I didn't expect

Still making my way through it. Preferred guero but this is pretty cool
