Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
Apr 21 2026

Surprisingly excellent! I didn't think I'd be into big but I was mesmerised!

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Apr 22 2026

I think for me to appreciate this album more, I'd need to have a better understanding of what was happening culturally at the time. While not a bad album, I just didn't vibe with it.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Apr 23 2026

I could hear tinges of my favourite artists in this. Not quite what I'd normally listen to but I felt connected to it. Quite surprised!

Station To Station by David Bowie
Apr 27 2026

Another one of those that I might have to sit with, but the initial impression was quite positive.

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Apr 28 2026

Bit of a black horse... I went into it knitting that I didn't mind the beach boys but not something I'd seek out. This album was surprisingly varied and deep.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Apr 29 2026

I'm not the target audience for this type of release. That being said, it was nice.

Palo Congo by Sabu
May 01 2026

This is SICK! Whoever says it's a hard listen is trying to listen too hard, just relax and be with it.

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
May 04 2026

A little nutty and full of machismo. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Just gritty

Mask by Bauhaus
May 07 2026

It wasn't without its cool moments, very jammy and odd which I liked. Lots of expression. It never quite seemed to take off except for maybe a couple of tracks but perhaps that's the point. Music to listen to when you don't really want to listen to anything in particular?

The Bends by Radiohead
May 08 2026

I'm not sure why I didn't listen to this sooner, it's right up my alley! Odd and pretty in so many ways.

Fear Of A Black Planet by Public Enemy
May 11 2026

I understand that it was a landmark release and it spoke volumes about the zeitgeist of the late 80s/90s, but on a musical level it just didn't hit me and honestly I feel like I'm a bad person for thinking that.

L.A. Woman by The Doors
May 13 2026

Kinda grongy

Guero by Beck
May 19 2026

Yeah this hit in the right place. Nice and eclectic

Vulnicura by Björk
May 20 2026

It took a few listens to appreciate it, it's a grower.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
May 22 2026

Might suit with this one for a bit, it wants to hit but hasn't yet

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
May 26 2026

I got up to hot thing before noping out. I appreciate the attention to detail and the one man bandiness of it all, but it's all so incredibly stiff. The run time is kinda ludicrous for what was going on and pretty self indulgent. I can see there's a lot to appreciate monument wise but it's not for me.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
May 27 2026

Need to sit with it more but it's cool. Doesn't set my ass on fire but it's fine

Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
May 28 2026

This album is a bit tragic because it could have been incredible. The production is kind of, off. The best way I can think to describe it is like Ute's vocals were pasted on top of something intended to be an instrumental and the vocal production was haphazard. Coupled with an apparent lack of someone producing the vocal performances, it all comes off as somewhat unnatural and unbalanced. It sucks because the underlying idea of this album had solid bones to work with. .... The case continues is rad!

May 29 2026

Finally! Something I already knew! I'm more of an origin of symmetry person but there's bangers on here

Songs Of Leonard Cohen by Leonard Cohen
Jun 02 2026

I didn't know what to expect but this was quite lovely and gentle.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Jun 08 2026

Less cheesy than other songs I've heard of theirs.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Jun 09 2026

Amazing guitar work, didn't blow be away otherwise but it was a great listen

New Wave by The Auteurs
Jun 11 2026

Got into it, brilliant and whimsical

Central Reservation by Beth Orton
Jun 18 2026

I think I need a few listens to absorb this properly

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Jun 19 2026

It's exactly what I would have imagined from the guy that voiced chef

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 22 2026

Optimistic and fun

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Jun 24 2026

I got to song 2 before noping out. The first song was stupid, about getting stoned. The second had a super long obnoxious harmonica part that made me want to quit this 1001 album thing.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Jun 25 2026

I didn't mind it. The cover art is abhorrent but the music is pleasant.

Odelay by Beck
Jun 29 2026

Still making my way through it. Preferred guero but this is pretty cool

Play by Moby
Jul 01 2026

While I appreciated this album, it wasn't for me.

Blackstar by David Bowie
Jul 02 2026

Haunting, beautiful and kinda scary.

Pretzel Logic by Steely Dan
Jul 03 2026

Another good album I suppose, but it didn't grab me.

Hejira by Joni Mitchell
Jul 08 2026

It's not a bad album, it's just not for me

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Jul 09 2026

This is why I'm still doing 1001. The weird shit. This was pretty awesome.

Parklife by Blur
Jul 14 2026

I heard a little Gorillaz in it, pretty cool!

Dub Housing by Pere Ubu
Jul 15 2026

I think I need more time with this one

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Jul 16 2026

Another I'll need to sit with

Stardust by Willie Nelson
Jul 17 2026

Nice but at l didn't hit me

Pink Flag by Wire
Jul 22 2026

This particular album didn't grab me, but there was something in it that I was curious about. I'll move on to the album after this one to hear how they developed.

I See You by The xx
Jul 24 2026

It might take a few listens, but the first impression is really good

Smash by The Offspring
Jul 30 2026

A bit of a classic

Green by R.E.M.
Aug 10 2026
