Masterful example of rhyme, flow, and lyricism. The way they make these words tie together is astounding. Some of the lyrics make me think "why??", but those examples are few and far between. This is a great album, and you can really hear how this album inspired the future of hip hop and rap.

Legendary start to an album. Maggot Brain is a wild album. The titular song Maggot Brain was a wild ride, full of emotion. Big fan of the whole album, and I've only listed to it one time. Classic sound. Funkadelic.

Most classic sounding rap I've ever heard. I assume this is where the beastie boys get their flow from. It's kinda cheesy to listen to nowadays but I bet back in the day it was the jam. I can respect that this changed a lot culturally. There were some rhymes in there that were pretty nice, and messages that are timeless in their meaning. Overall, decent album.

Man lots of fun songs here. le freak is a classic, and the follow up in savoir faire surprised me. It wasn't as fun down the stretch in the last few songs but otherwise solid album.

Some nice songs here, surprised I'd never heard of this album. Really liked Pacific Ocean Blues, Dreamer, and Thoughts of You. Thoughts of You kind of reminded me of an early Coldplay song, which I am a big fan of.
Overall solid. There were a couple points on the album where I found myself waiting to get to the next one, one example being Time.
The wikipedia article on Dennis Wilson is interesting, but I don't really take any of that into my rating of the album.

A bit different than I am used to but that is the reason why I'm doing this whole One Album A Day thing. I liked a lot of the beats, and some very funny lyrics at points. Pharrell song made me laugh so that's probably the highlight of the album for me. Mid overall.

Nice Funk. Liked the guitar solos, and the sax solos were great! The end of Cafe Regio's was probably my favorite solo. Do Your Thing is my favorite song, I'm a sucker for long drawn out solos and the entire song is just a big jam session. Not sure why the other songs didn't resonate with me the same.

It was good but not super good, I liked it for the most part but the day after listening to it, I cannot for the life of me remember any of the songs on the album except for Phantom of the Opera, so...

gotta give Mizzou legend Sheryl Crow her due, its a pretty decent album. got a classic with "All I Wanna Do", and a few other nice songs that I enjoyed.

So good, didn't know what to expect going in but I enjoyed it a lot!
you can tell it's his last album. It is fairly somber and melancholy sounding. Beautiful music but honestly I could not stand his "singing" voice. I can respect the art though.

Classic Rock, little bit of Beatles style harmonizing and junk like that, fairly vanilla sounding rock for the 60s. Not bad, not amazing either.

Surprised me on how much I enjoyed some of the songs. Almost all of them I can imagine being sung by another similar artist like Taylor Swift.
I enjoyed the homemade sound that this album has. A few great songs on here like That Would Be Something and Maybe I'm Amazed stood out to me. A few other songs that kind of resonated with me was Glasses, Man We Was Lonely, and Momma Miss America.
I enjoyed the flip from acoustic to electric halfway through. It is interesting reading about how audiences reacted back in those days when he started doing that. Unfortunately, streaming services these days took out a lot of the in-between crowd noise that was present on the physical versions of this album.

Very Abstract and Calm. Moonshake was the standout to me on this album. Overall Solid but maybe a bit abstract for me at times.
Amazing. I had heard the title track "Black Sabbath" before, and knew it was great, but the rest of the songs blew me away.
What a nice blast from the past. Some important tracks on here for the future of rock and roll, and just some nice, easy early rock listening.

There are a couple good songs on this album, but nothing groundbreaking for me. A lot of this album is songs that do not catch my interest or are just slow and plodding, all while saying nothing about anything.
