I prefer his two other albums (that are on this list) though but 'At the chime of a city clock' is definitely one of my favourite songs ever. He portrays how lonely and hectic living in a big city can be, supported by absolutely gorgeous instrumental arrangements

Heard before?:❌️ Will listen again?:❌️ 1.5 On the surface it sounds pleasant enough but I can't help but feeling like like there is no soul behind this album(?) Which for a supposed soul band isn't the best look. It's not offensively bad or anything, I managed to listen to it front to back without issue and kinda enjoyed the title track. Which is why I've been debating whether to give this album one or two stars. I've been handing out a lot of 1stars recently and I don't want to come off as a killjoy with my "critic" rater style but I also have to stay true to myself and admit that this list has some bs on it and that taste is subjective (oh my god no waaaay!)

Heard before?:❌️/✔️ (Beyoncé is inescapable so I heard snippets around) Will listen again?:❓️ 2.5 Haunted is the highlight of the album for me. The other songs aren't really my thing but as far as highly produced pop from the 2010s goes, this album is definitely a gem.

Rest seemed more like desperately trying to rehash the Beatles early magic. I support creating things out of spite but not when the result bores me. At least the album cover is fun. Also: too many "Hey-ho"s

I liked parts of Fucking hostile and This love. Shame that this is my first metal album on this website. Hope I'll get some black sabbath or iron maiden soon🙏 1.5

Full focus too, I would do nothing else while this album was playing, just lie on the bed or on the floor and mouth along to every word. Like a lot of things I was obsessed with when I was at that age, I didn't expect this to impact me now as much as it did. But now I understand I'm still that girl lost and confused finding safety The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Absolute fucking masterpiece and it's not just nostalgia talking
