Not usually into listening to this genre, but can definitely appreciate the greatness of this album. Some good tracks, beats and great samples. I almost quit halfway thru, but glad I didn't before hearing \"Don't Trust 'Em\", which samples Steely Dan's \"Green Earrings\". Highlights: -It Was a Good Day -Don't Trust 'Em -Check Yo Self

Holy shit I have never listened to this full album but I am loving it! Obviously Today is a Good Day is a banger. I didn’t know Check Yo Self was on this album! This album is so high energy. Side note this album should not be relevant in 2021

Hard as fuck

Well this is very different from artists I usually listen to. "It was a good day" was slightly enjoyable. I didn't feel this album in my bones that's the least I can say. I do respect the messages of hope and him sharing his experience as a black man.

Always a fan of Ice Cube. Turns out I knew several of these songs already, but have just never listened to the album in its entirety.

Not my favorite, beat is nice but not super engaging.

Y’know, it’s funny. This is gangster rap, and he definitely uses some language that’s terrible, but overall it sounds so goofy and old because of the early 90s sound. I liked it

It was a good day

Ice Cube is spitting and flowing on this. One of my favorite rappers ever. When Will They Shoot is hard af. Pretty hard beats.

i like icecube, altought some of the songs in this album come over as etremely violent

Like him as an actor better than a rapper, though i do realize the cultural weight of this album.

Epitome of aggressive early hip hop, it’s crazy to see his rebrand (top 3 with snoop and ice t). No matter how shitty my day is “It Was a Good Day” will always hit

This album is both historically and prophetically important. It is an excellent commentary on the societal division in the US, but from the 90's when most of the racial tension was glossed over, this album gives insight into the reality of racial tensions and realities. As such it becomes prophetic for 2020. This is why this album is important, not because of it's ingenuity or musicality, but because of it's look into the realities of being black.

A great song or 2 but a bit too aggressive for me

I like this album but it's obviously a turning point - not as cypress hill-y as the next one, but you can hear it coming. Like yeah man, we get it you like weed, and it was a good day is a classic, but if you weren't so high maybe you'd have trimmed the fat off this album. 3/5 because it goes way too long but the good parts are still fuckin great.

One of all time great hip hop albums. Funky, politically charged, angry.... amazing!
