I liked it but I imagine teenage me would have been way more excited by their britpopness. Makes sense considering the album came out when I was sixteen.
Like Alice's restaurant in the middle of a desert
Getting some real southern metal vibes here
Sounds like a less interesting version of Ween to me. Not bad though.
My only other jazz listening experience is with Monk and I gotta say Mingus feels more fluid and easier to engage with thus far. I still put Monk Live in Tokyo at the top of my list but this album is a banger.
I really didn't like this one. The 80s sound on top of Paul Simon's iconic vocals really just made me wish I was listening to Simon & Garfunkel
Their guitar playing is on point for sure. I'm still not sold on them entirely though.
Love me some classic metal
I never knew where Danny Brown got his style from.
Feels way more obvious how inspired they were by the beatles on this re-listen . Though Champagne Supernova is still a favorite of mine.
Some classic blues that reminds me of the movie Adventures in Babysitting lol
Some classic tracks but overall not for me.
Love me some Dexys
I can only take so much of The Smiths but if I had to listen to one album this would be it
