Never heard of “proto punk”, but I can definitely hear some of my favorite punk through this, Jeff Rosenstock included

The complexity of melodies and harmonies cannot be overstated. A very palatable level of weird.

A real pre-Oasis, the LP started off okay, but really got more and more captivating as it went on.

Even without ol Bruce-y boy, they sure as shit set the tone for all their music to come. The confidence in their foundations is exemplified very well.

I was expecting to like this more than I did. The first time listening through a whole LP of theirs in a while, if ever.

I had forgotten how unique and almost incredibly annoying her voice is.

This is an affirmation that I’m not just tired of that one song they have, but that I really do not like them. There was maybe one good song on here, but too much of it sounded like dudeman was trying waaaaaay to hard to sound like Bowie and failed miserably. I’d give it 0 if I could. Awful.

If someone asked me before I’d listened to this if I wanted to hear covers of overplayed classic rock songs done by a sitar, I would’ve said no. My answer is still no. Love Ravi and some more traditional ragas, but this is not something I would reach for. Ever.

Bold and brash. I loved this. Had never heard of if, but I can hear her in all the young solo artists that I listen to all the time now
