I've never hear of this artist or album before. It's not bad. Could be nice to fall asleep to.
Pretty good if this is a high school garage band. Only 33 minutes long, so that's good.
Turns out Liz Phair isn't a great singer. I assume this album was chosen because of it's writing...but it's hard to pay attention to the lyrics when the singing is so bad.
Reasonable songs length, reasonable album length. Seemed promising...However, the very first noise you hear on this album is screaming. Not cool. Couldn't listen to the whole thing. It made my ears hurt.
It's like listening to the same song ten times in a row. The first one or two tracks were good, but very boring toward the end.
Tough listen. Not for me. Used an interesting framing device that played along with the education/classroom theme.
This creates a mood. I'd call it an early 2000s indie movie nostalgia mood. Not bad, probably best to use as background or driving music. No one song stands out from the album as a whole.
Unremarkable for the most part. "Kilo" is kind of good. N-word is used a lot throughout the album.
I like the title of this album. Apparently there's some kind of storyline, so need to pay attention more than I did.
This album doesn't have any of my best-remembered Talking Heads songs. Still pretty good.
Lots of screaming. I like "Heart-Shaped Box"...other than the songs I know as singles, way too much screaming...awful
At less than 40 minutes, this album is mercifully short. Not that I'm saying it's otherwise a bad album. I bet some people love it.
The album title pretty much says it all. Would sound great in an elevator, maybe at a grocery store too
Pretty much what you'd expect from Tom Waits. Intense singing, quirky instrumentation. Not pleasant, but interesting.
Two strikes before I even started listening to this albums: 1) it's two hours long and 2) it's a live album. Uh oh. The best part was when it was over.
Pretty good. Especially if you consider the album's context in rock history (which I had to read about on Wikipedia)
This singer kind of sounds like Bono. I wonder if they influenced U2 at all.
It might be my 90s nostalgia talking, but I liked this one.
This album was a treat. It contains all of the Dusty Springfield songs I already knew, plus some additional gems.
It was fun to hear a different version of Stir It Up. Otherwise unremarkable
Pretty good if this is a high school garage band. Only 33 minutes long, so that's good.
Very sad. Her voice sets the mood. I don't even know what any of the lyrics are, just sounds sad.
Easy to listen to. Some words are unintelligible. Gets boring toward the end.
Great vocals. Well-produced. Did not feel like a chore to listen to this.
I've never hear of this artist or album before. It's not bad. Could be nice to fall asleep to.
Songs are nice and short, so we're off to a good start. No songs stick out as obvious singles. But overall really good. I actually started listening again after it ended.
Too many tracks. Album lasts over an hour, which is way too long. Also, too much foul language. Ice-T is a good rapper though.
Sounds like a party. Fun, but definitely need to be in the right mood to truly enjoy. Might be good hype music getting ready for something. Album drags a little toward the end (like most albums do).
Too long. Miserable. Don't listen to this on a sunny day, will ruin your mood.
Some songs are longer than I realized. Still mostly fun; it's Michael Jackson afterall
Mostly sounds like a jazzy score for an 80s movie. But there's at least one live track, and I hate that.
Inferior versions of 'Respect' and ' My Girl'. This album feels like it's trying too hard to be soulful... whatever that even means.
Sounds like Frank Sinatra, exactly what you'd expect. If you already like Sinatra, you'll like this.
Lots of high pitched squealing/whistling noises. Very annoying.
Interesting. Thought-provoking in that it made me think about how many different genres there are and how artists can be successful in genres without me ever hearing of them or hearing their songs.
Album is over an hour long and most songs have long, zany titles.
Most of these tracks are too long for my taste. Songs are mostly enjoyable, just last too long.
I'm a sucker for this Spanish language music. Album is mostly just good background noise.
Turns out Liz Phair isn't a great singer. I assume this album was chosen because of it's writing...but it's hard to pay attention to the lyrics when the singing is so bad.
Good singing. Raitt is often praised for her vocal interpretation, and I agree with that.
It's house music. Not too intense though. Could be good music to have while trying to concentrate on something.
Short album. Short songs. I enjoyed it and it didn't wear out it's welcome.
This album is a little too long in my opinion. But otherwise very good. I'm glad I'm revisiting it after all these years.
Dusty is just a great singer. This album was well-produced too. Nailed it.
Great work from the Beastie Boys. Perhaps a few too many tracks; they could have left a couple out. Overall very good though.
Reasonable songs length, reasonable album length. Seemed promising...However, the very first noise you hear on this album is screaming. Not cool. Couldn't listen to the whole thing. It made my ears hurt.
I had never heard of this artist or album...but I enjoyed it. Goofy lyrics, my jam.
Not a lot of songs, but some very long songs.
This is bad. Maybe this would have been a fun late 80s/ early 90s concert to attend...?
Album is longer than I like, but also better than expected. I think I had the wrong expectations going into this one. Ultimately I enjoyed this, but it's very context-specific. Should be enjoyed in a club, and not while just sitting around on a lazy Saturday.
Good collaborations. Some good tracks on here, mostly toward the beginning of the album. It definitely drops off.
It's cool to hear electronic music that isn't just club music. This works just as well for simply setting a mood.
72 minutes is too long. The songs themselves are a mix of passable and bad. There was one toward the beginning where I thought "this is kind of catchy"
I could see myself listening to this again and enjoying it. It's a little bit moody at times.
Primitive punk. Three decently good tracks save this one
Ugh. A live album. I like Sam Cooke, but this is still just a live album.
Not particularly interesting. But it's non-offensive to keep as background music only.
Though this album marked a bad turning point for this band, the album as a whole was better than I remembered. Could be nostalgia talking, but I thought it ages well.
