Lady In Satin
Billie HolidaySunday morning music, wasn't really hitting on Thursday . Felt a little repetitive but it's still Billie holiday

More diverse than I thought it'd be. Loved the blues covers
Amazing soniscape and mixing. James Taylor has always been the quiet delicate fire and rain guy in my head, steamroller blues and others showed me he has more to offer.
Unbelievable vocals. The rest of the album could be dogs barking and still be 5 stars with judy blue eyes and helplessly hoping the only tracks
I enjoyed how a portion of the songs carried on the same melody. Can't unsee all the drummer hate though
Fun. The hits I knew were fun, the rest seemed a little dated
An absolute classic. 2014 road trip solidified that for me. 6er and hot dogs and whiskey every night. The cacophony of sounds before breathe is great
Was a bit distracted for this listen but I loooove funk
Dreamy grunge. Liked it alot
Trippy, cool experimental moments but ultimately not something I feel the need to revisit
Wasn't fully in the right headspace for this one, but I can tell it's a great album even if it's outside of my typical tastes/preferences.
Great boom bap. Felt dated initially but there were a couple runs of rhymes that turned me around on that opinion
Trippy. Rock jazz? I liked it more than I expected knowing how weird he can be and is
Blues country? Idk what the genre was but it was nice
Banger after banger, then the last two songs dip slightly. Yes there are more technical, more thoughtful albums but this one is just too fun. Still reminds me of driving too fast in my dad's tundra
Can't tell if I really liked this just to spite my friends after they said to skip all jazz or not, but it made cooking a blast. So interesting when you give it full attention and don't get mad when it's abrupt or chaotic or nonsensical or any other jazz hater descriptor
Good, but it ain't no speaking in tongues
Felt like a mellencamp/Springsteen ripoff with country added in. Songs were good and I liked the lyrical content more than typical for country, but I couldn't get past the 80s sounds
Solid album from my childhood. The playful narrations kept the main theme of fun going throughought
Not really big on the organs, still had some all time songs that carried it for my
Holy shit that's an album. Anyone got some blow?
Better than I thought. Bob Dylan never was my favorite but I enjoyed this album a lot. His songwriting does capture you if you sit and listen for more than a song
Don't think I'm a bowie guy
All time making breakfast on a Sunday album
Fun, reminiscent of rilo kiley
Felt like an Elliot smith cover band at times. I'll fully admit I wasn't giving this album full attention though at time of listening
Punk origins and what I imagine was a pretty unique sound at the time
Was really surprised how much I liked this one. The fun he's having can be heard. Probably didn't hurt my scoring that I was driving up to a day of powder skiing while playing hooky from work
Eh.
Trippy. Some really surprising and interesting soundscapes. Would get a higher rating if I was stoned but alas I wasn't at time of lustening
Really dreamy, flowed nicely as a cohesive album instead of a list of songs if that makes any sense. Do you realize is always pretty
Fun album that faltered a bit in the middle
Fun all the way
Not a big PJ guy but it's hard to deny that this album has some bangers. And I know bangers
Every song to me was in the B- to B+ range, and the whole didn't outperform the sun of its parts
Interesting. I liked the first half and lost my weird appreciation a little on the back half
Good groove to it. Stats string and then fades of alittle
Not big on hip hop, but enjoyed the British delivery and interwoven skits. Is skits the right word? Idk idc
I mean, it's Bob Marley.
It's zz top. , and there aren't really any surprises to what that meant to me already
Reminded me of Courtney Barnett. Honest lyrics and stripped down sound were enjoyable
It was ok, wasn't really in the best headspace for a thorough listen
Alexa, play Billy Joel 100 percent volume
Not bobs best
Love tribe, such dependable boom bap. Great sampling and interludes
I will probably never listen to this album again but man is it pretty
Antlers Hospice did it better
Decent early punk sound
Sunday morning music, wasn't really hitting on Thursday . Felt a little repetitive but it's still Billie holiday
Pretty pretay pretayyyyu great. Diverse styles and paces throughout
Reminded me of hackers. I like hackers
Only listened to 2/3 of it, but its still 5 stars even if the last 1/3 was just fart noises or something like that
Eh, it had moments but I feel like I wasn't surprised after song 1
Pretty cool punk/concept album. Slow start but had me by the end.
I mean duh
Very pleasant. Like Ben folds or Billy Joel but with a bigger sound
This is a 5 star album even if it was only 4 songs long. Timeless
Mixing struck me as a little flat, but I was surprised by the quality of the songs nonetheless. Not sure I needed an hr 17 min of Aguilera runs tho
The start of new sad boy. I wanted more diversity from the songs though
It was ok, felt like a wannabe talking heads early on but found it's way in the back half
Highly unique and nostalgic. Casino pulaski breaks my heart every time
Love Sam Cooke,.missing a few hits but great performance
So many bangers. Not even a metal guy but you can tell it's top of its class
Meh. Don't think sitar is my jam
Low on the ella list
Their first EP better be on the list if this one is
Far more enjoyable than I anticipated. Felt very cohesive as an album
Cool concept album at times but ultimately not my thing. Roundabout is great regardless
Love the flow. Very nice subtle shifting through nice melodic songs
Decent album, a little delicate for my taste but very pleasant for Sunday morning coffee
Very 90s, very good.
Grew on my throughout. Decent staying power despite also very obviously being a little older
Holy shit this is bad.
Seamless transitions, unique vocals, awesome pace throughout
I'll never forget my high school shop teacher stopping class to announce that this album was a must listen. This was roughly 2004. I agree with Mr. perry
Another album I really liked but will unlikely ever hear again just because of my typical genres unfortunately. Nice groove throughout
The Niles Rodgers involvement can be heard often and I love it.
Fun, and nostalgic to when I realized how much music was out there to discover
What the artic monkeys would sound like if they sucked
So damn good. A staple growing up as my dad loved them, the A side is perfect
Fairly monotonous, no doubting take me out is a bop though
I knew I'd like the album, but had no idea I already knew and enjoyed damn near every song on the album. Iconic!
Good tunes, about what I expected from the dead. Still don't fully get it
This album surprised me. The first few songs blended together, but not in a good way. Vocals were very distinct and interesting throughout, but something about the pace won me over starting around song 3 or 4, it just kept doubling down and it worked
A solid listen, but in my opinion inferior to nevermind
Groovy baby
Smooth operator and hang on are great! Sade has an inherent coolness that makes you feel cool listening, and then there you are being all cool with a cool head bob on your cool commute, crushing it
Talking heads adjacent with some Bowie, but for me not the rights parts to put them on that level.
Too much prog rock on this list
Subpar compared to the rest of the era and genre
Eh, another album with some nice songs but ultimately to dated sounding for me
I like this one, right amount of tempo and aggression, like the garage house sound from this era
Wayyyyyy good, I like the intermixing of proper soul/funk, with some foundational hip hop tracks. I think they knew they had something, but a full hip hop album was not ready to be accepted yet
If I liked Smashing pumpkins more, I think this would be great, but I tire of Billy's voice sometimes and so it's just a run of the mill 3 for me. There are some timeless songs on here though
