Very solid album, entertaining throughout and made me feel cool just for listening to it.
Favorite songs were:

9/10
Imagine an overhyped album featuring sanctimonious lyrics presented as if they were profound, alongside boring instrumentals and cliché melodies.
It was easy to tune out in the background so it has that going for it at least.
2/10
Love the vocals on this and it has a relaxing but rich feel. It was starting to feel a little long and then Glory Box dropped and I was feeling it again, strong finish.
8/10
So many songs I recognized. It was great music to listen to while going for a walk, uplifting and mellow.
I'm glad Moby did not end up getting stomped by Obie.
Favorite songs were
Porcelain
Natural Blues
9/10
A little too slow and same sounding for me. It all had a kind of sad and low energy vibe.
Lyrics seemed like they could be good but I was struggling to pay attention.
4/10
This was way weirder than I expected having only heard a couple hit songs from Kate Bush like Wuthering Heights.
I was a little unsure at first but by the end it felt like a good and fun weird rather than an unsettling weird.
Favorite songs were:
The Dreaming
Pull out the Pin
7/10
Short, not very memorable. Nice guitar parts and rythms but they blended into a relatively monotonous musical landscape.
Favorite songs were:
2. I Remember When
4. Dreaming of You
5/10
This album was okay. It started off with "Invaders" which I found really annoying and loud. My expectations for the rest was low at that point, but by the time the title track came on I was enjoying it.
Favorite songs were:
2. Children of the Damned
5. The Number of the Beast
6/10
This album rocked, really fun vibe reminded me of Flogging Molly.
Favorite songs were:
1. If I Should Fall from Grace with God
4. Fairytale of New York
10. Lullaby of London
9/10
This was relaxing and smooth, loved the jazzy sax and mellow vibe.
Favorite songs were:
1. The Girl From Ipanema
5. Corcovado
8/10
Very solid album but gets old fast due to most songs sounding similar. Love the guitar but the voice doesn't do much for me. Ends on a high note with really strong songs, overall was very enjoyable.
Favorite songs were:
2. Girls Got Rhythm
8. If You Want Blood (You've Got It)
10. Night Prowler
8/10
I like the name of the album and the band. The music was just noisey and not enjoyable for me. There were parts I liked; the vocals were good but every song I was enjoying would drop into an abrasive distorted guitar part that at best sounded like a talented guitarist playing with a broken amp.
2/10
I love the song Vincent so was excited for this but it was underwhelming as an album. Two bangers but the rest was just ok and got a little boring by the end.
Favorite songs were:
1. American Pie
3. Vincent
7/10
I started this album a few times but switched it off, it wasn't terrible but it did feel kind of bland. Liked a couple songs but overall I would not listen to this again.
Favorite songs were:
7. This Mess We're In
10. This Is Love
4/10
Fun album, had only heard the Yoshima song before. I liked the mellow sound, most of the songs didn't stand out to me though.
Favorite songs were:
1. Fight Test
3. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, Pt. 1
7/10
I found this boring. Last few songs picked up a bit but still weren’t anything I would ever want to listen to again.
If it was a bit more upbeat I could see it being good chillstep type music to study to.
2/10
Easily top 10 hip hop albums of all time. Kendrick tells a cohesive story that feels cinematic. Excellent beats and production, well written and intricate lyrics without sacrificing on the sound.
Only criticism is the Drake feature, he is not what the culture feeling.
Favorite songs were:
3. Backseat freestyle
8. m.A.A.D city
10. Sing About Me, I'm Dying Of Thirst
10/10
Listening to this felt way longer than 38 minutes. I didn't like the first half (song) and it was hard to get past that. Second half had a totally different vibe and was OK. I appreciated some of the jazzy piano parts.
Playing the first song on touchtunes would be a good way to clear out a crowded bar. I could also picture really enjoying it if I was tripping in a smoky basement surrounded by tapestry.
Favorite song was:
7. Are You Ready Eddy
3/10
Enjoyed some songs but others not so much. The songs were really long which was a bummer during songs like "Moonchild" that was basically 12 minutes of elevator music. Conflicted on the rating since the songs I liked I really liked.
Favorite songs were:
2. I Talk To The Wind
3. Epitaph
6/10
Good but inconsistent, enjoyed a lot of the songs but there were others that I wanted to skip. Most of the later songs were good though.
Favorite songs were:
6. Old Man
7. There's a World
8. Alabama
7/10
Loved this album, really like the voice and electronic poppy vibes. Had a good distribution of the best songs which made it easy to listen to.
Favorite songs were:
3. Shopping
5. Hit Music
7. It's A Sin
8/10
This was ok, it seemed like it was front loaded with the best songs and then petered out at the end. Probably would never listed to it again.
Favorite songs were:
2. Tears Before Bedtime
5. Man Out Of Time
4/10
I thoroughly enjoyed this album. It has a fun, upbeat sound with witty lyrics and cultural references.
The version I got linked to was ~41 mins / 12 songs so basing the review just off of just those.
Favorite songs were:
3. Something 4 the Weekend
5. Hometown Unicorn
10. Hangin' with Howard Marks
12. For Now and Ever
8/10
Any individual song was decent but as an album it felt monotonous and bland.
It seemed like they found a formula to make a love themed pop song and were just pumping them out, riding the wave of their popularity rather than pushing any creative boundaries.
Favorite songs were
5. And I Love her - I like the acoustic melodies backed by the 12 string guitar.
7. Can't Buy Me Love - catchy, upbeat and fun.
4/10
Interesting layering and the album felt cohesive and well thought out. It was a little slow and abstract for my taste, but I could see it being good background music for a relaxing activity.
Favorite songs were:
5. I Might Be Wrong
6. Knives Out
5/10
Not my usual style but by the end I warmed up to it and really liked the last few live versions. This is a hard one to rate since I enjoyed parts of a lot of the songs, but they also had sections that were too chaotic for me and ended up just sounding like noise.
Favorite songs were:
3. Sugar
5. Spiders
6/10
Funky album with a positive message that makes me want to stop polluting the earth and sending people to war.
Favorite songs were
8. Blow Your Mind
10. Didgin' Out
1. When You Gonna Learn
7/10
I liked the first couple songs but got bored pretty fast. I respect that it was probably great for it’s time but it felt dated.
Favorite songs:
1. Like a prayer
10. Spanish Eyes
6/10
Fun listen, it had a good mix of dancey electronic and emo/punkish vibes.
Favorite songs were
3. North American Scum
4. Someone Great
9. New York, I Love You (this was the perfect song to end on)
8/10
Enjoyed this album, catchy guitar parts and a unique sound. Reminded me of a cross between the Clash and Blondie. Had heard a couple songs before from guitar hero so I was picturing jamming out to this as a middleschooler.
Favorite songs were:
4. Tattoos Love Boys
8. Kid
10. Brass in Pocket
8/10
Simple but well done grungy alt rock. I liked the percussive elements of acoustic guitar as well as interesting progressions. A lot of it sounded pretty similar though, could use more variation.
Favorite songs were:
3. It’s a shame about ray
4. Rudderless
8. Hannah and Gabi
13. Shaky ground
8/10
I’ve heard good things about Yes so had high hopes but this felt like a chore to get through. It had some songs and parts I liked but a lot seemed unrefined and felt like a jam session in a basement.
Favorite songs were:
1. Roundabout - good but long
9. Mood for a day - this song rocked
3/10
Solid punk rock album, felt raw and chaotic at times which gave it a unique style vs similar bands.
Favorite songs were:
7. Music when the lights go out
10. Ha ha wall
14. What became of the likely lads
7/10
Excellent album, all the instruments were really expressive. Loved the guitar and the subtle piano backing in some of the songs like "Worry, Worry". Great writing and emotional singing, all around a very solid blues set. I can see why BB King is regarded as one of the greatest blues guitarists and singers.
Only critique was that there was an intro in both track 1 and 6. I think it's fine to sample separate performances on a live album but would have cut out the second intro, when it played I had to double check that the album wasn't on shuffle.
Favorite songs were:
3. It's My Own Fault
7. Worry, Worry
9. You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now
9/10
Love the voice, overall solid album.
Favorite songs were:
1. Just A Little Lovin'
8. The Windmills Of Your Mind
7/10
Decent album, more interesting than the other Beatles album we got. Was happy he relegated most of the cringey love lyrics to one aptly named song.
Favorite songs were:
4. Working Class Hero
5. Isolation
8. Look At Me
6/10
Liked the acoustic elements to this album, didn't like the more ethereal slow tracks like "Round the Bend".
Favorite Songs were:
3. Guess I'm Doing Fine
11. Little One
7/10
I liked the first few songs but it felt front loaded. Reminded me of the band Does It Offend You Yeah. From the 4th song on it was pretty meh, Shortcomings was a bit better but too little too late.
Also probably the most questionable pick I've had so far, a 2018 release with less than 2M listens on the top song - how many of those were from people following this list? Seems like a friend of the editor.
Favorite songs were:
1. Negative Space
5/10
Very cool concept and overall great album. This was the first album I ever owned so I may be biased but I love the blend of alternative and hip hop influences.
Favorite songs were:
2. 5/4
11. 19-2000
15. M1 A1
10/10
This album rocked and was really solid all the way through. Haven't listened to Van Halen and didn't expect to like it so much. I instantly recognized a lot of iconic riffs/synth parts from songs like Jump and Panama, hadn't ever heard the songs all the way through.
Loved the build up on songs like Drop Dead Legs and I'll Wait. The heavy guitar licks sounded awesome and made me want to crank the volume to 11.
Favorite songs were:
2. Jump
3. Panama
5. Drop Dead Legs
7. I'll Wait
10/10
This was a cool album. I really liked the lyrics, and the music overall felt very intricate and polished. I can tell a lot of work went into this, and I appreciate that; it didn’t feel like anything was just thrown together. Overall, it reminded me of a jazzier Joni Mitchell.
However, I wasn't the biggest fan of certain parts that sounded more show-tunish, and some of the tonal and time signature changes felt a bit jarring to me. As a result, it’s not something I could see myself casually listening to often.
Favorite songs were:
2. Lu
11. Once It Was Alright Now (Farmer Joe)
13. The Confession
7/10
I had only heard the song 'Roadrunner' before listening to this album. I like this style in short bursts, but it started to feel repetitive by the end. Bonus points for being funny in parts and for mentioning lots of Massachusetts stuff, though.
Favorite songs were:
1. Roadrunner
4. Pablo Picasso
8. Girlfriend
7/10
It took me a while to warm up to this but by the end of the album I was enjoying it. A little long but it was a solid album with a David Bowieish vibe. The song The Asphalt World sounds so familiar but I can’t place where I’ve heard it.
2. We Are The Pigs
8. The Hollywood Life
11. The Asphalt World
8/10
The first song was a banger and made me think I was gonna love this. Unfortunately nothing after that stood out as something I’d want to listen to again.
6/10
This was decent, I had heard a few songs before but never really listened closely. Catchy melodies and lyrics were interesting at times.
Favorite songs were:
1. Greenlight
2. Sober
5. Liability
8/10
I like this album and have listened to it before, it's nothing amazing but very listenable and fun.
Favorite songs are:
2. Frankly, Mr. Shankly
6. Bigmouth Strikes Again
9. There Is A Light That Never Goes Out
8/10
Have listened to this one before and love it. Cool sound, atmospheric and I love the vocals. Only thing holding it back from a 10 for me is the long instrumental intros, lots of songs could be trimmed.
Favorite songs are:
2. Pictures of You
4. Lovesong
7. Lullaby
9/10
Had some parts I liked but for the most part it wasn't memorable. Parts I liked weren't good enough to carry the album.
Favorite songs were:
6. Dance, Dance, Dance
10. She Knows Me Too Well
4/10
I liked the piano but am not really a fan of the big band sound.
Favorite song was:
11. Lil' Darlin'
5/10
Very solid cover album, was surprised by how many country songs sounded great with soul / r&b styling. Only complaint was that it was long, could have used some trimming.
8/10
Favorite songs were:
10. Careless Love
14. No Letter Today
19. Take These Chains From My Heart
I liked the sound of this even though I don't speak french. Enjoyed the funky beats and relaxed smooth flow.
Favorite songs were:
4. Victime de la mode
11. La musique adoucit les mœurs
12. Bouge de Là (part. 1)
7/10
A couple songs were okay but for the most part this was a bummer and way too long.
Favorite songs were:
7. Wrote For Luck
10. Lazyitis
3/10
This was pretty middle of the road for me, nothing stood out as amazing but nothing was particularly bad either.
Favorite songs were:
6. No More Mr. Nice Guy
7. Generation Landslide
6/10
This album didn’t do much for me, I liked the guitar parts but the overall sound and vibe got old for me fast. Lyrics were interesting which earned it an extra point.
Favorite songs were:
5. Supernaut
6. Snowblind
7/10
Mellow, smooth, and relaxing; good music to have on while working. Lyrics were boring, I prefer some of his other songs with more personal connections and stories rather than broad strokes of social commentary.
Favorite songs were:
6. Mercy Mercy Me
9. Inner City Blues
7/10
First song was a bit boring but it picked up after that, really enjoyed the expressive guitar and basslines.
Favorite songs were:
2. Bus Driver
4. Jealous Hearted Man
6. The Blues Had a Baby and They Named It Rock and Roll
9/10
This album is peak Blondie, strong from start to finish. Love the voice and the pop rocky style of the music. So many bangers on one album.
Favorite songs were:
1. Hanging on the Telephone
8. Sunday Girl
9. Heart of Glass
10/10
Took me a while to get through this, not bad just a little slow and uninteresting.
5/10
This was a fun album, definitely the best Beatles album I've heard.
Favorite songs were:
2. With a Little Help From My Friends
7. Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite
8/10
I liked the rock a bit more than the soul. Overall pretty decent album with a few catchy songs.
Favorite songs were:
7. You’re Good For Me
9. Hard, Ain’t it Hard
7/10
Snoozy at first but it picked up towards the end. If the first 20 minutes were as good as the rest of the album this would have been an 8/10 for me. Acoustic only tracks could have used more flare.
Favorite songs were:
11. Down Yonder
13. Hands on the Wheel
6/10
Had a couple songs I liked but they weren't good enough to carry the album. One highlight for me was recognizing a verse in "Writing To Reach You" from a Wonderwall/Boulevard of Broken Dreams remix, I like that version better than the actual song though.
Favorite song was:
7. Why Does it Always Rain on Me
4/10
Listening to this album on repeat would be a more effective form of torture than waterboarding. The instrumentals might have been fine, but I couldn’t hear them over the excruciatingly obnoxious vocals.
0/10
Enjoyed the story telling and cohesive nature of the album. Overall it was a nice hip hop album with a little bit of soul/r&b twist. I was a little surprised one of my favorite Lauryn Hill songs "Can't take my eyes off of you" was on an extended version of this album but not the original tracklist.
Favorite songs were:
7. Final Hour
8. When it Hurts So Bad
12. Nothing Even Matters
8/10
I wanted to like this. Vocals weren’t doing much for me, guitar sounded technical and hard to play but not necessarily fun to listen to.
Overall pretty meh, I get that it was probably historically important though.
Favorite songs were:
1. Purple Haze
3. Hey Joe
4/10
Didn’t love the start but by the middle it warmed up. There were some songs like Child In Time that had parts I loved but were overall too long. Other parts got too screechy and noisy for my tastes, but it seems like that’s par for the genre. Last song was really good.
Favorite song was:
7. Hard Loving Man
6/10
Okay background music but not very interesting. It was probably great for the time but now that electronic music has progressed so much it seems boring.
3/10
This was alright, a little better than I was expecting when I saw it was a solo Beatles album. Felt like it could use trimming.
Favorite songs were:
2. My Sweet Lord
4. Isn't It a Pity
7. Behind that Locked Door
6/10
Tight album with cool use of sound effects. The sound was full without being overly busy.
Would listen to this again as a full album, very cohesive and was like listening to a movie.
Favorite songs were:
4. Time
8. Any Color You Like
10/10
Jolly good album. Way better than I expected having only heard their hits before. It reminded me of a more rocky velvet underground with a bit of bluesy licks. There weren't any songs that were weak, many were absolute bangers. Overall an unexpectedly strong album.
Favorite songs were:
4. I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself
5. In The Cold, Cold Night
14. It's True That We Love One Another
10/10
After the first couple songs this album seemed like it would be right up my alley, but most songs ended up not being super memorable. I enjoyed the overall vibe and appreciated the vocals, but it felt like maybe it was too frontloaded since I found myself not paying attention after the first 10 minutes.
Favorite song was:
1. The Mother We Share
6/10
It's a step above white noise if I wanted to listen to music. Could be good for a movie scene but not really something that I'd want to listen to on its own.
2/10
Smooth vocals with funky guitar and instruments, had a fun and laid back vibe that was easy to listen to.
Favorite songs were:
2. Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight
3. If You Were There
11. Summer Breeze, Pt. 1
7/10
Had a couple good songs but for the most part this felt dull and uninteresting.
Favorite songs were:
8. What Goes On
11. In My Life
5/10
This was decent but the raw rappy sound felt a bit dated to me.
Favorite song was:
7. Ladies First
5/10
I loved the last album we had by SFA, Hanging with Howard Marx. This album was decent but a little too out there with spacey sound effects, and didn't have many stand out tracks.
Favorite songs were:
3. (Drawing) Rings Around the World
10. Juxtapozed With U
5/10
Started out really strong and the second half was just okay. I enjoyed the classic rock vibes and bluesy riffs mixed in. I would listen to this again.
Favorite songs were:
Brown Sugar
Wild Horses
7/10
This was a fun album, short and very punk rock.
Favorite songs were:
3. Three Girl Rhumba
4. Ex Lion Tamer
17. Mannequin
8/10
Absolute banger, no weak songs. There's probably some component of bias due to nostalgia, but I think if I hadn't heard this and listened for the first time I would still think it rocks.
Favorite songs were:
2. Jesus of Suburbia
3. Holiday
13. Whatsername
10/10
This album was peak Beck for me, not the biggest fan but this style of alternative rap rockish songs are what I like most from his discography.
Favorite songs were:
1. Devils Haircut
2. Hotwax
8. Where it's at
7/10
It was alright, didn’t find anything super interesting on this. At times I found the melancholic tones and tempo changes a bit unsettling and stressful.
3/10
I enjoy the general vibe and the vocals of PSB, this album didn’t really have any songs that stuck out as particularly good though. The first song was long and meandering, after that the rest of the album was just alright.
4/10
The concept of a farewell album is interesting, not interesting enough to carry the album though. It was pretty boring and same sounding, the album felt much longer than it was.
The lyrics felt cryptic. I’m sure if you hyper analyzed them there are some deep themes and meanings, but if I was doing that I’d rather read it on paper than have to listen to the songs again.
3/10
This album was great all the way through, had some of my favorite songs by the pixies on it and the ones I hadn't heard were all also really good. "Hey" is an iconic song that I absolutely love. Overall the album felt cohesive and really strong, starting and ending with bangers.
Favorite songs were:
7. Monkey Gone to Heaven
13. Hey
15. Gouge Away
10/10
This was alright, pretty mellow and forgettable but I did enjoy the vocals and fingerpicking melodies.
Favorite song was:
9. Blue moon rise
5/10
I enjoyed this more than the average prog rock album. As with most albums in the genre there were parts of songs I would like in smaller radio edits, but were too long.
Favorite song was Clap.
6/10
I don't like the vocals, some guitar parts and melodies were nice but I couldn't really get into it.
3/10
Fun and upbeat but ultimately not that memorable.
Favorite song was Love Plus One.
5/10
Mellow and fun but aside from a couple songs it's not really something I'd want to revisit.
Favorite songs were:
Perfect Day
Satellite of Love
5/10
Very impactful album, I have mixed feelings on it - the vibes and sound of the songs varied quite a bit.
Songs like the title track were too shouty for me with a choppy aggressive cadence. Songs with smooth rapping and a less raw production sound were more my vibe.
Lyrics like “I ain’t the one to get played like a poop butt” really resonated with me while others felt too violent or misogynistic.
Favorite songs were:
Express Yourself
Parental Discretion is Advised
7/10
Fun album with an energetic and creative vibe, not usually my style of music but I enjoyed this.
Favorite song was:
Reeling in the years
8/10
Went into this expecting to really like it having heard a few songs before, but it was just alright. Definitely a sound that gets boring after 20 minutes.
Favorite song was:
Fell on Black Days
6/10
Decent album, I don't love the voice but the guitar and melodies were pretty solid throughout.
7/10
I generally don’t enjoy techno of this style because of its extremely repetitive nature. It might be good within its genre, but definitely not my cup of tea. By the time I reached the title track, the songs felt formulaic and predictable—usually just a few words repeated over and over (often the song’s title or something closely related).
The first major surprise was on “Abzug.” Instead of having “Abzug, Abzug, Abzug” as the chorus, they brought back the chorus from the title track. It wasn't a particularly pleasant surprise, though; the first seven-minute song of repeating "Trans-Europe Express" was more than enough for me.
3/10
Loved this album, it felt jammy with great guitar parts but also felt much more refined than Deep Purple In Rock.
Favorite songs were:
Highway Star
Lazy
When a Blind Man Cries
8/10
The song Wish You Were Here is my favorite Pink Floyd song, love the guitar in it and the way it builds up. The other songs on here were alright. Shine on You Crazy Diamond is good but too long for my tastes.
8/10
Fun album, felt tight and polished. Even the lesser known songs were solid.
Favorite songs were:
Adams Apple
Walk This Way
7/10
Excellent lyricism and production - on a purely musical level, I love this album. Dr. Dre's co-production shines with iconic beats and instrumentals that perfectly match the energy of the vocals. The complex rhyme schemes are impressive and unmatched.
While I love the sound of it, the subject matters often felt over the top. Songs like "Kim" reminded me of a 14-year-old on Xbox trying to be as edgy as possible to get attention.
Favorite songs were:
Marshall Mathers
The Real Slim Shady
9/10
The first half of the album did not spark joy. It wasn’t bad just not particularly interesting to me. The sound quality and production felt inconsistent, not sure if it was intentional but it some felt like they were recorded on a tape recorder while others were studio quality.
The second half had some stand out tracks that were catchy and felt less generic.
Favorite songs were:
Little miss queen of darkness
Sunny Afternoon
7/10
Cool album, not a style I would listen to often but it was enjoyable.
I liked the xylophone and mellow guitar parts, was surprised by a rocky sounding riff towards the end of the last track which sounded great and made for a strong closing.
The strong West African style vocals aren't my favorite and kept me from loving this album.
Favorite songs were:
Hamady Boiro - funky
Daniibe - xylophone licks
Minuit - sweet guitar part
7/10
This album was a banger. The whole album was well thought out and tight. I enjoyed the lyrics and the transition in themes from individual struggles to being pissed off about religion.
I had no idea flutes could go so hard. The acoustic 6 and 12 string parts all rocked too. Everything felt smooth and the song transitions flowed well.
Favorite songs were:
Cheap day return - love the mellow but intricate acoustic 12 string
Up to me - main riff was fun and the supporting flutes sounded great
Locomotive breath - the build up in layering in this was satisfying. Piano and flute parts sound amazing
9/10
There were a few songs on this I loved, but aside from those it felt more like background music - great guitar parts but not a whole lot else I found interesting.
Favorite songs were:
Black Magic Woman - Smooth with a vibe that fits the vocals well
Oye Como Va - reminds me of GTA Vice City
Hope You're feeling better - rockier sound with great percussion
7/10
Alright easy listening music, reminded me of a milder version of the shins with less melodic singing. Overall I didn’t mind it, but it wasn’t exciting.
Favorite songs were:
Expectations
I Could Be Dreaming - more energetic than most of the songs
6/10
A classic album with no weak tracks, perfectly suited for its time. Today the production style sounds dated but the lyricism and flow still make this feel like a masterpiece.
Favorite songs are:
NY State of Mind
The World is Yours
Lifes a Bitch
Memory Lane
10/10
Good guitar, annoying vocals. Some songs were decent but there weren’t any songs I loved.
Favorite songs were:
The shortest straw - I thought he was saying soda straw the whole time, I kind of like it better that way
To Live Is To Die - enjoyed the mellow parts, I’m a sucker for acoustic guitar
6/10
Found this dull and uninteresting. A lot of it sounded like it could be good as backing music for a TV show or something but not interesting enough as the main focus. "Small Hours" in particular reminded me of an 80s crime drama panning the camera on a lead detective as they ponder the case.
4/10
Fun album, I loved the song "This corrosion", but the album version was a bit long. The music video edit was much tighter.
7/10
This took a couple tries to get through, definitely not a sound I enjoyed. I was surprised guitars could sound so bad, I'm reading that they used aluminum guitars to get a shrill tone and intentionally cut out the bass in order to make it more jagged and grating.
1/10
I could tell it was music and listening to it didn't actively make me unhappy.
Only song I liked on the album was "There There".
3/10
I like some of the melodies, nothing stands out as amazing. It was overall enjoyable and I would probably listen to this again. Not a fan any of the Nico led songs though.
Favorite songs were:
Pale Blue Eyes
After Hours
6/10
This album rocked, had heard a bunch of these songs before but didn't know the band name. Short and very tight, enjoyed the bluesy elements and catchy riffs.
Favorite songs were:
Ready for Love
Bad Company
Seagull
9/10
This was interesting, kind of reminded me of a punkier version of Cake. I found it entertaining and poetic but probably would not listen to it again.
6/10
I was liking this at first but the style got boring fast and really dragged on in the middle. He has a very whiney style of singing. I’m not sure if the first few songs were better than the next seven or if I was just more receptive before hearing 20 minutes the same.
Favorite songs were:
The one you love - liked the rhythm and pace of the song
Crumb by Crumb - upbeat and melodic; even Rufus’ vocals on this track were less droney
4/10
Decent album. Nothing stood out instrumentally as amazing but it was carried by the vocals.
Favorite songs were:
You sent me flying / cherry
Fuck me pumps
7/10
Loved this album. Many of the original songs adapted surprisingly well to the more laid-back acoustic style. The covers were usually grittier and a nice twist on the originals. For a live album, the sound quality was impressive.
Favorite songs were:
Man who sold the world
Dumb
Plateau
I’d give it a 10, but since it’s a mix of songs from different albums, it doesn’t feel like a completely standalone work
9/10
Really liked the voice, the album itself was enjoyable and fun to listen to while working. The vibe was mellow but rythmic, had me bopping my head along.
Favorite song was:
Saudade Eterne
7/10
Liked this album a lot more than I thought I would. Very solid pop album, great vocals and overall fun vibe. I saved a few songs but would listen to the whole album again.
Favorite songs were:
I'll never fall in love again
Mr. Guder
8/10
Had mixed feelings about this one, did not like the vocals but the lyrics, instrumentals and storytelling were great.
7/10
This has been my favorite Joni Mitchell album. Great lyricism as always but this also felt more rythmic and upbeat than other albums I’ve heard like Hejira.
The pacing was great and there weren’t any particularly weak tracks.
Favorite songs were:
Twisted
Raised on Robbery
Just Like this Train
Free Man in Paris
10/10
This was a lot better than I expected having only heard bittersweet symphony before. Well produced and clean sound, nothing amazing but overall was an enjoyable album.
Favorite songs:
The drugs don’t work
Weeping Willow
8/10
Fun and upbeat, made me want to dance and bop my head along while listening.
8/10
Thoroughly enjoyed it, short and sweet. Great guitar and loved the overall eerie and melancholic vibe.
Favorite songs were:
Play For A Day
A Forest
17 Seconds
8/10
Solid album, well written and produced. Didn't have anything that stood out as amazing too me, just mildly enjoyable throughout.
7/10
First couple of songs were engaging but the sound got boring for me pretty quick. Aside from Boys & Girls I would not listen to this again.
5/10
This was fine, nothing bad but also nothing all that interesting.
4/10
Ugh, DOA is just another cookie-cutter, radio-friendly, crowd-pleaser. Way too mainstream and poppy for me.
2/10
This was funky, strange at times, and overall an interesting listen but did not have many songs I would be eager to revisit.
6/10
Loved this, had never heard of the band but it was a fun and warm listen.
Favorite songs were:
Autopsy
Si tu dois partir
8/10
Smooth, great vocals but not super interesting. It was a nice mellow album to listen to while working.
7/10
Interesting style, funky but I didn't love the total length of the songs or the length to get to the vocals. Once the vocals dropped on both of the tracks I was enjoying it.
I respect the bravery behind putting something like this out there and it seems like it had a real impact.
6/10
Prejudice (no!)
Ignorance (no!)
Bigotry (no!)
Illiteracy (no!)
Shallow preachy lyrics (no!)
20 song albums (no!)
Uninteresting formulaic style (no!)
Flashing boob at the superbowl for attention (no!)
2/10
First half was weird in unentertaining way, second half picked up a bit and had a couple stand out tracks. As an album it felt weak, would not want to listen to the whole thing again.
Favorite songs were:
Typical Girls
I Heard It Through the Grapevine
4/10
Loved this album, unfortunately its hard to find and not on Spotify atm for US. There's a 2003 release with the same name which is confusing. The songs are on a re-release called "In a Doghouse" which has these tracks and is a little easier to find.
Really enjoyed the sound, fun and rhythmic but also intense with a great punk energy. Vocals have a lot of energy and emotion which was attention grabbing. Raw sound reminded me of early Nirvana crossed with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
9/10
Fun melodies here and there and a great voice. Strong start, boring in the middle but picked up again around track 8. I was surprised how many songs sounded familiar until I noticed almost every track had 100m+ listens on spotify and 3 songs had over 1b. Obviously this album hit hard.
The album cover made me feel uncomfortable, I don't like the way she is looking at me. I feel like she is waiting for me to apologize for something that wasn't my fault.
Favorite songs were:
Send My Love (To Your New Lover) - have heard this one before but it was way more of a banger at full volume.
Million Years Ago - this had a great soulful feel over the mellow acoustic backdrop, I felt like the guitar went really well with her voice.
8/10
Excellent album, almost every track hits hard. The flow, story telling, and production were great. You can tell he was still hungry and giving 100% effort, later albums weren't as consistent. The vibe of the album pumps up my testosterone levels and makes me feel like I would fight someone for looking at me wrong.
Skits and intro/outros were obnoxious. I read that there were real recordings of fellatio on it... could have definitely gone without hearing that. I also felt like it was too long.
9/10
This felt very front loaded, first 4 tracks were great and then 5-11 was boring. Overall equalled out to an OK album.
6/10
Decent album, highlight was probably realizing they do the theme song from that 70’s show. Most of the songs were a bit bland, my favorite parts were the flat picking guitar riffs.
Favorite songs:
Thirteen
Try Again
7/10
I didn’t mind it, definitely not as good as Urban Hymns but it was still decent background music while working.
5/10
Good album, felt a little self indulgent at times with extended solos but overall it was entertaining and enjoyable.
7/10
Had heard the song DLZ before and like it, the album as a whole was pretty solid. Interesting blending and had a creative feel.
6/10
Fun album, ran a little long but was enjoyable. None of the tracks stood out as excellent, just easy to listen to.
5/10
This was great, smooth and emotive sound and a good length.
Favorite songs were:
Lets stay together
How can you mend a broken heart
8/10
The production is well done, but I found the album boring as a whole. I am probably biased since I don't like him as a person, but did not enjoy this.
Was also disappointed right away when I realized Senorita was not the song with Camilla Cabello.
Favorite song was Rock Your Body.
3/10
First couple songs were the only ones I’d listen to again. I liked the guitar in a lot of the album but it wasn’t enough to carry it.
6/10
It was different, I was finding it alright until the last few songs which were obnoxious and repetitive.
Favorite song was Stillness is the Move.
4/10
Based purely on the name I was expecting Alanis Morissette to be a techno band similar to Depeche Mode.
Was pleasantly surprised that I had heard of a couple songs and overall really enjoyed the album. Reminded me of an grungier Avril Lavigne.
8/10
I appreciate Slipknot. I've seen them live a few times and they put on a great show - energetic and entertaining. With that said they do not make the type of music I enjoy, and listening to this whole album was a drag.
The only song I would listen to again was Wait and Bleed.
3/10
The style of music is definitely not for me, I appreciated that the songs were quick though. I also didn't hate it as much as I expected to after the first couple songs.
I could not understand what was being said in any of the songs, but it sounded angry and frustrated.
2/10
This was excellent, the energy was invigorating and deeply satisfying. There's more bluesy feeling parts than I expected, overall was a great listen from start to finish.
Favorite songs were:
Killing in the Name
Bullet in the Head
Wake Up
9/10
The Ace of Spades reminded me of playing a Tony Hawk Pro skater game on playstation 2, but the sound quality made me feel like it was coming out of a gameboy speaker.
I would probably enjoy this live but as an album I could not get past the sound quality.
3/10
This wasn't very interesting or memorable.
3/10
I liked this overall, I like the style but for a full album it did start to drag on a bit.
Favorite songs were:
The Sun Always Shines on TV
Hunting High And Low
7/10
Voice is a bit grating but it was a fun album with lots of undeniably catchy songs. Was surprised by how much I enjoyed the album.
Favorite songs:
Self Esteem
Bad Habit
8/10
This was a nice relaxing album to listen to on a rainy day. I was never a Neil Young fan before starting this 1001 albums journey but I feel like I enjoy his music a bit more every album I get. The voice and style was weird at first but is growing on me.
7/10
This was interesting, weird in a good way but felt front loaded with the end of the album starting to drag.
6/10
This felt like the music that would play in a movie when the main character is coming to terms with a new sad reality, carrying on with day to day life after a breakup or a death.
Lyrics were interesting and well written.
Overall it was good but felt a little too slow for me to really get into.
7/10
Higher ground is an awesome song, the rest of the album was not as interesting or memorable.
6/10
Sounded a lot more raw and unpolished than their other albums, gave it a gritty feel that I appreciated. There weren't a ton of songs that stood out as amazing but also none that were weak, overall very solid rock album.
8/10
I was finding this boring at first but it picked up around "underappreciated" and was entertaining from there for a bit before petering off again. Great soulful voice but it was too long, some of the filler songs should have been stripped imo.
5/10
I liked this album, it was a little more upbeat than Either Or and had some interesting use of blending sounds. I also felt like it had a bit more edge which made it more interesting.
8/10
Have listened to this album before and love it. It's relaxing and melodic, mellow but not uninteresting.
I initially thought that I would be a big grateful dead fan after listening, but found that this is the only album by them I enjoyed. Other ones felt too jammy and unrefined.
10/10
I may have just been in the right music for this style, but it was really good focus music for getting work done. Will listen to this one again.
8/10
Based purely on the music this album is an absolute banger. So many great songs on it, the only thing I don't love is the skits and general length - could have been a lot tighter IMO.
Kanye did an amazing job with both the production and the rapping on this, I think the work as a whole came out really special due to him having complete creative control of the vision. Not many artists can do both so well.
Unrelated to the album content:
I've been a fan of Kanye's music for a long time but it is getting more embarrassing to be a fan given how far off the deep end he has gone. It was easier to write off egotistical and brash sound bites, but the recent move towards hate speech made me listen to this one with the windows up and seek streaming on sources that would not contribute to his bottom line.
10/10
Reminded me of a drunk guy singing to himself at a urinal. The instrumentals were decent but could not carry it; lyrics were funny at times.
3/10
Not bad but I don't remember any song sticking out. Not something I would revisit for active listening but decent as background music.
4/10
I really like this for 15 minutes at a time, but listening to the whole album started to drag on and started to all sound the same.
8/10
Fun album, listened to this while cleaning and enjoyed it. Nothing really stood out as amazing or something I wanted to save.
7/10
Eh not bad but not all that interesting. I liked the Spotify radio that came on after this more than the actual album.
4/10
Weird but interesting and the voice was enjoyable. Was getting bored after 20ish minutes though.
5/10
Awesome album, does start to get same sounding by the end but it has so many bangers.
9/10
Found this really boring.
3/10
Solid instrumental album, reminded me of plantasia. Great music for deep focus.
7/10
Enjoyed the first half, I like the voice a lot as well as the mellow rhythmic vibe. Second half was a bit weaker but not bad.
Favorite song was Brain Drain.
7/10
Not my favorite band but probably my favorite album by them. Fun and energetic, enjoyed it throughout.
9/10
Was enjoying this at first but it got a bit too repetitive for me.
5/10
Insanely boring, like listing to open mic poetry with a backing track of a recorded shopping mall piano
2/10
Best PJ Harvey album so far, I liked that it was a bit more gritty and raw. Still not all that entertaining though.
5/10
