I try to find one song per album that I’d listen to again, couldn’t find one from this album. Ian Curtis might be tone deaf. Mixing wasn’t very good either, could barely hear the lyrics.

Radiohead
4/5
Moody and sonically appealing. I always thought this album was overrated, which I still agree with but I'm starting to figure out why people like it so much.

Justin Timberlake

Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
It’s Elvis Costello
Sufjan Stevens
4/5
Had it in as background noise while cleaning, really cohesive album with lots of cool and evocative sounds. Last song is just music for 18 musicians. Really enjoyed it.
OutKast
4/5
Closest to a 5 star album I’ve listened to so far on this list.
The Smiths
3/5
Nothing special, just sounded like every other British post-punk band of the time.
Bee Gees
3/5
Good coherent music. Like the Bee Gee's. This will get 3 stars from me.
Madonna
2/5
The Allman Brothers Band
5/5
23 minute version of Whipping Post makes this an automatic 5. Everything else is just gravy, the best gravy you've ever had.
Radiohead
3/5
Whiny and melodramatic. I can't say I disliked it, but its definitely an album that confirms to me that Radiohead is overrated.
Talking Heads
3/5
Sounds like the Talkin Heads, nothing special here. 3/5.
The Velvet Underground
2/5
I don't know. I didn't hate it but it certainly wasn't fantastic. 2/5.
Johnny Cash
4/5
Johnny Cash live in a prison. Hard to beat. 4/5
G. Love & Special Sauce
3/5
My dad listened to a lot of G Love and similar artists when I was growing up, so I was excited to see this one come up. While it lacks the depth of some other artists/projects that come from the same vein as G Love, I really loved the way he infused elements of jazz into this album. If you even somewhat enjoyed this album/were intrigued by it, then you should check out artists like OAR, Dispatch, and JJ Grey/Mofro. 3/5.
AC/DC
4/5
This is one of those albums that really exemplifies the term "Rock N' Roll". From sexual undertones to gargantuan guitar riffs, it has everything you can ask for in a rock album. Entire album is concise and cohesive. Final track is the perfect tune to finish this album on. 4/5 stars due to being a little bit bored in the middle.
The Police
2/5
There's like 3 good songs on this album.
Otis Redding
4/5
Absolutely timeless. One of the best male voices of all time coupled with rock solid blues tracks, hard to beat. 4/5.
Bob Dylan
3/5
Barry Adamson
2/5
Can't even finish this, not because its bad or anything but who listens to soundtracks for a nonexistent movie? Glad this was generated on a day when I couldn't listen.
Lorde
3/5
It's so so obvious that this was produced by the same guy who produces Taylor Swift albums, not that its a bad thing. I really enjoyed this one but it didn't blow me away. A rock solid 3.
Dusty Springfield
2/5
The Damned
3/5
The album felt like it struggled with an identity, but I did enjoy it still. 3/5

Judas Priest
3/5
First Judas Priest album I've ever listened to. Not too shabby.
3/5
Waylon Jennings
5/5
This album is a 4 but I'm giving it a 5 out of spite. Too many losers on here who think Radiohead is the best to ever do it, but cringe at the thought of a country album. This is Waylon Jennings we're talking about.
Tracy Chapman
4/5
3/5
The Style Council
3/5
Not really sure what to think of this one. I didn't hate it but I don't know who this album was made for. 3/5
Billy Bragg
4/5
Wasn't really too intrigued by this until I found out it was all Woody Guthrie songs. Seems a little sacrilegious to have a British guy singing them, but he proved me completely wrong. 4/5.
Sisters Of Mercy
3/5
Very very 80s. I enjoyed it.
Nick Drake
4/5
I like his voice a lot. Jazzy sounding album, easy listening. 4/5.

Sister Sledge
3/5
Keith Jarrett
3/5
I saw everyone commenting about the circumstances of this concert, I thought it was going to be Cold War related. In reality it was just the youngest concert promoter in Germany (18) making youngest concert promoter in Germany mistakes. Very impressive performance nonetheless.
Miles Davis
4/5
Janet Jackson
2/5
The Stranglers
4/5
Better than expected.
Foo Fighters
4/5
Average album that deserves a 3 in a vacuum, but Grohl did the entire thing by himself in 6 days so I'm adding a star for that.
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
3/5
Bob Dylan
4/5
Its Bob Dylan doing a Bob Dylan impression.
Culture Club
2/5
Didn't do much for me.
The Beta Band
3/5
This is the second Beta Band album on this list. Neither was bad by any means, but I'm struggling to figure out why I had to listen to them before I die.
Kanye West
5/5
Standing on your anonymous internet soap box and giving this album a 1 star review does not make you better than the person who actually listens to the album. If you don't want to listen, just don't listen. This album is a masterpiece and was released by a different person than the Kanye West that you see in the news today, if you'd listened you would know that.
Pearl Jam
4/5
Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
2/5
Daft Punk
3/5
This would hit so hard if I was on molly at a midnight rave in Paris, but I'm at my cubicle working in Excel. 3/5.
The Undertones
4/5
16 songs, 34 minutes long. This one was really fun and took me by surprise. The tremolo that Sharkey has is phenomenal.
Al Green
4/5
Black Sabbath
5/5
This is about as good as it gets when it comes to debut albums. I'm coming to find out more and more that there's something about Black Sabbath that scratches my brain in all the right places.
Willie Nelson
4/5
Dr. Dre
3/5
TV On The Radio
2/5
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
4/5
Yeah I can see why he was such a big deal.
Beatles
5/5
I love the Beatles, but everyone seems to suck this album's dick so I was a little skeptical going in. The Beatles just have this insane way of making every single song that they record so interesting and catchy.
Björk
3/5
WHY SO MUCH BJORK????
Stevie Wonder
4/5
Scott Walker
3/5
LCD Soundsystem
3/5
There's been a handful of albums so far with a similar vibe to this one. I think they're fine in a vacuum, but in real life they just don't really draw out any sort of emotion for me.
Ramones
3/5
Loved how short it was. Started really strong but ended up being pretty repetitive.
Hugh Masekela
3/5
Mylo
3/5
Reminded me a bit of daft punk but I liked this better.
Fiona Apple
2/5
Couldn't finish it. Wasn't really terrible, but I'm behind on a few albums and this one didn't engage me enough to take the time to listen all the way through.
Steely Dan
4/5
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
Adele
4/5
A lot of her songs sound the same but man her voice is way too good to not enjoy listening.

Os Mutantes
4/5
Pretty damn good album especially considering I don't know what any of the words mean.
King Crimson
4/5
Kraftwerk
2/5
No man, you're thinking of "bee-boo-boo-bop, boo-boo-bop."
Dexys Midnight Runners
3/5
A lot more folky and americana than I ever would have expected from a 1985 release by a British pop-rock band. Didn't blow me away, but it was a nice listen. 3/5.
Prince
3/5
Was really excited to listen to this one but turns out its still Prince and I still don't LOVE him. I really appreciate him and his talent, and I enjoy a handful of his songs, but at the end of the day its just not my favorite.
Spacemen 3
2/5
ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah I don't know about this one.
Pretenders
4/5
I really enjoy Chrissie Hynde's voice and line delivery. Very enjoyable listen all around.
Alice In Chains
4/5
It's 3 in the morning and its your turn to take the wheel on the way home from family vacation. You just walked out of a Sheetz in a tiny Pennsylvania town that you've never heard. Turn this album on and crack open a watermelon RedBull. Time to lock in.
Fats Domino
4/5
Love me some Fats.
Django Django
3/5
Faith No More
3/5
This one was certainly influential for a handful of bands. His voice kind of annoys me, but good listen.
Led Zeppelin
5/5
Perfection. Best album of all time. No more comments.
The Temptations
4/5
This bangs so hard.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2/5
I thought Nick Cave was responsible for the intro for 'The Wire' but then I found out that was Tom Waits. This album sucks.
Simple Minds
3/5
80s. Didn't hate it.
Gene Clark
3/5
Its like Walmart brand Neil Young.
David Bowie
2/5
I got some very strong hip hop influence vibes from this. Didn't blow me away and probably won't listen to this one again.
AC/DC
3/5
Listening to AC/DC always makes me feel like its 1984 and I'm 20 years old partying at my friend's parents' lake house. And I love that for me.
Laura Nyro
2/5
808 State
2/5
Agree with others who say it'd be better if I was on Molly in an abandoned warehouse.
Joy Division
3/5
Better than the other joy division album on here.
Jefferson Airplane
4/5
Man, this takes me right back to the 60s. (I was born in 1998)
2/5
Listened to a few of the songs. Interesting, but not my thing.
The Hives
3/5
Like another reviewer said, its disappointing that they included this compilation album on the list. Could have put one of their actual albums on it. 3 stars though.
Youssou N'Dour
2/5
4/5
I feel like you don’t normally use the word penultimate when reviewing an album, but Knights of Cydonia is the best penultimate song of all time.
Electric Light Orchestra
3/5
Its like an orchestra of electric lights.
The Cure
2/5
Reminds of Joy Division a bit. Not a huge fan of Joy Division.
The Go-Betweens
3/5
Didn't finish this one. Wasn't terrible but wasn't incredibly intriguing either. Giving it a 3 for now, subject to change. I have Sinatra, Nirvana and Zeppelin that I need to listen to..... sorry Go-Betweens.
Frank Sinatra
3/5
Sinatra does Bossa Nova. Who knew.
Nirvana
5/5
The genesis of grunge. What else is there to say?
Led Zeppelin
5/5
Transcendental.
Randy Newman
2/5
I can't do it. He sounds like Spongebob drunk off ice cream at Goofy Goober's. 2 stars though because of Toy Story.
Beck
3/5
Sad Beck. Solid songs even though they were depressing.
The Beach Boys
4/5
Man, I love the Beach Boys.
Nine Inch Nails
3/5
Not really my thing, but it wasn't terrible.
The Who
4/5
Bookended by two amazing songs at the beginning and end. The five in between are great too, but they don't quite reach the heights of the top two and bottom two.
R.E.M.
3/5
I have a complicated relationship with R.E.M. Their hits HIT, but everything else kinda sounds the same. 3 stars here for a solid album that didn't blow me away or leave me feeling like I wasted my time.
Echo And The Bunnymen
2/5
Forgettable.
Johnny Cash
4/5
Its Johnny Cash, so how bad could it ever be? I wasn't blown away by this at all, but again, its Johnny Cash. Very intriguing covers and I loved hearing The Man in Black's rendition of them. But, I liked all of the originals better. Still 4 stars, because its Johnny Cash.
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
No notes.
Miles Davis
3/5
I don't think I really understand jazz, but this makes me feel like I'm walking through a city street late at night in the 1940s.
Tom Waits
3/5
What am I? A pirate?
Paul Simon
4/5
Not a huge Paul Simon fan, but this was a good listen.
Kings of Leon
3/5
Haven't listened to Kings of Leon outside of their big hits. I really enjoyed this, even cooler to learn that its 3 brothers and a cousin. Interesting to read about how the brothers were raised as well. Never would've thought this type of music could come from that. Very solid 3/5.
Muddy Waters
4/5
Coldplay
3/5
It's just kind of sad. I like a couple songs but they're all kind of the same, and sad.
Tricky
4/5
Feels like this was recorded specifically for 21st century rappers to sample. Really cool though, enjoyed a lot more than I thought.
Grateful Dead
3/5
Nobody is a fan of the Dead because of their studio albums.
Amy Winehouse
5/5
God her voice is so so good. Thoroughly enjoyed this.
The Verve
3/5
Hahahahaha instantly started laughing when the first song came on. Is this song the only reason this album is on the list?
Funkadelic
4/5
I like funk, I like Funkadelic.

Not sure what I expected, but wow.
The The
2/5
Not good.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
4/5
Its Tom Petty, whats not to like?

4/5
Really great front to back.
Dexys Midnight Runners
2/5
There's other instruments that you can build a melody with, you're not limited to the melodica.
Serge Gainsbourg
4/5
I liked it. Subject matter iffy, but that's what a concept album is all about. It IS still fiction, people.
Little Richard
4/5
Yep, that's some good shit.
Peter Gabriel
4/5
Enjoyable.
Aimee Mann
2/5
Boring.
Radiohead
2/5
“Oh goodie, another Radiohead album!”
- Said no one ever.
The Boo Radleys
3/5
I saw a lot of mention of brit pop in the reviews, so I went into this kind of skeptical. It was much better than expected.
ABBA
3/5
My mom listened to this religiously when I was growing up, so it has a soft spot. I did really enjoy it, I just wish there was some variety. A lot of the songs sounded similar, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The lack of variety does limit the ceiling though. A very solid 3/5.
Green Day
4/5
This is what made me a Green Day fan.
The Bees
3/5
As soon as this started I thought I found the source behind 2017-2020 indie music, but it just kept divulging into something completely different.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
4/5
The Vines
3/5
Unremarkable but solid.
Carole King
5/5
Unexpected 5! I know Carole King, but I had never listened to this album from start to finish. Lovely voice, lovely album. Loved it so much.
Thin Lizzy
3/5
So there's a Grateful Dead studio album, but a live Thin Lizzy album? This list makes zero sense sometimes.
Jacques Brel
3/5
I have no idea what he's saying, but this is good.
Supergrass
4/5
Good Brit pop!!!!
David Bowie
3/5
I like Bowie, but this didn’t really impress me. I also can’t stand the album cover.

4/5
Jazzy and intricate. Never boring.
Frank Ocean
4/5
I've listened to this one through a handful of times and its damn good.
Slint
2/5
Personally, I really dislike spoken word lyrics in music. This album is somewhere between a 2 and 3, but I'm not feeling generous today.
John Lennon
4/5
Its John Lennon, how could it not be good?
Its John Lennon, how could it not be pretentious?
Janelle Monáe
3/5
Emmylou Harris
4/5
I was going to say 'Dolly Parton lite' but I think that's reductive. I don't think I had ever heard of Emmylou Harris before this album; man I have been missing out. Beautiful voice, beautiful music.
The Dictators
3/5
Sounds like most other punk albums that I've heard. Nothing special IMO
Bob Dylan
3/5

Jane Weaver
4/5
Sonically intriguing and very cool.
Shuggie Otis
4/5
This is a delight to listen to. Impressive that Shuggie played pretty much every instrument on the album.

I don't really have much to say about this album. I enjoyed it but it was pretty unremarkable, as is usually the case with R.E.M.
Bruce Springsteen
4/5

Sugar
2/5
Unremarkable. Unsure why its on the list.
Julian Cope
2/5
Before listening: "Who he fuck is Julian Cope?"
After listening: "Makes sense why I don't know him"
Simply Red
3/5
I find a certain level of comfort in 80's synth heavy pop.
The Band
4/5
I've been a fan of The Band for a while and I never realized how groovy the basslines are. As a bass player myself, I am ashamed and simultaneously excited to learn these songs.
Kendrick Lamar
4/5
I prefer GKMC over TPAB personally. TPAB is still outstanding, though.
Siouxsie And The Banshees
2/5
More weird British shit. Didn’t love it.
Thelonious Monk
3/5
George Jones
3/5
There's something very endearing to me about this era of country music.
Ella Fitzgerald
3/5
5 stars for Ella's pretty voice. -2 stars for 3 hours long. 5-2=3. 3 stars.
Michael Jackson
4/5
This might be my first MJ album that I've listened to all the way through? I loved it. Starts out with two BANGERS and kind of dwindles from there. Not that the rest is bad at all, just doesn't compare to the first two.
The Mamas & The Papas
3/5
There's one big standout and the rest are above average 1960s songs.
The Stone Roses
4/5
Didn’t have expectations going into this listen and it still blew me away. This is the kind of stuff i was looking forward to when i started this.
Dire Straits
3/5
Hot start with a cool finish.
Sam Cooke
4/5
I'd love to have seen a show like this live.
Stan Getz
4/5
Do I like Stan Getz or do I just like bossa nova? We may never know.
The Flying Burrito Brothers
3/5
These hippie kids from LA attempt a country album (semi-successfully), forget that they're doing country halfway though (probably because of the acid), then someone reminds them that they're still doing a country album and they circle back. Somehow it all worked still. 3/5.
Fela Kuti
5/5
Loved it A LOT. Listened while running and it made me feel like I was in a movie.
Moby
3/5
This could’ve been 5 songs instead of 18. They all sound the same. Still pretty cool though.
N.W.A.
4/5
Loved the random Steve Miller Band samples throughout the album. Felt like little Easter eggs.
Funkadelic
4/5
Love me some Funkadelic. Could've done without the farts though.
Alice Cooper
4/5
Liked it. It kind of listens like a rock opera.
Goldfrapp
3/5
Sonically pretty cool but also very forgettable.
The Divine Comedy
1/5
People actually listen to and enjoy this bullshit? Yuck.
Sarah Vaughan
4/5
Beautiful voice.
Paul McCartney and Wings
4/5
After listening to a few post-Beatles solo projects i feel like i can reverse engineer who wrote and arranged each Beatles song.
Duran Duran
4/5
Wow this makes me miss the 80s (I was born in 1998).
Gene Clark
3/5
Its ok.
Tim Buckley
2/5
I wish I hadn't had time to listen to this today.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Good but nothing to write home about.
The Specials
4/5
I was starting to get REAL sick of all the British bullshit on here, but these guys just brought me all the way back. Sick ass album.
Sleater-Kinney
2/5
Didn’t do it for me.
Pink Floyd
5/5
Wow I did not realize this was 2.5 hours long.
This is probably one of the first albums that made me really appreciate listening to albums from front to back. The cohesive themes, both lyrically and sonically, keep you engaged throughout the entire album. Overall just an amazing album. No wonder its often mentioned as one of the best of all time.
Duke Ellington
3/5
I understand and appreciate what the Newport Jazz Fest did for music, but I just can't listen to 2 hours of live jazz. Even if its the Duke. 3 stars by default.
The Band
4/5
What a debut album.
ZZ Top
3/5
The good songs are great but the bad ones are terrible.
Can
3/5
I knew a little bit about Can from an experimental rock class that I took in college. Yeah, experimental is about the best way to describe this. The first 4-5 songs are actually very enjoyable, a little out there, but definitely enjoyable. Then you get to 'Aumgn' and 'Peking O'. Uhhhhh not really sure how to describe them. You're gonna have to listen for yourself. Overall, I'm going with a 3/5.
Aretha Franklin
4/5
Best female voice in music history, debate a wall if you disagree. Full of soul. Full of blues.
Todd Rundgren
2/5
Why is it so long?????
Michael Jackson
4/5
I wouldn't consider myself a Michael Jackson "fan" but I do find myself enjoying much of his music. I guess that's why he's the king of pop. There's some really obvious bangers on this one, and some others that are just meh. Kind of funny though, as good and iconic of a song as it is, i don't really think Thriller fits well on this album. 4/5.
The Stooges
4/5
Pretty good and I can hear how much it influenced a lot of the indie punk bands to come out of the 90s and early 2000s.
My Bloody Valentine
3/5
This wasn't available on Spotify and I didn't feel like spending money on it so I just listened to all of the 30 second previews on their website. Sounds like a project that I'd semi enjoy. Gonna give it a 3/5 and let fate decide if I'll ever listen to it fully.
LCD Soundsystem
4/5
Better than I thought it'd be. Definitely sounds a little dated for an album that came out in 2017, but I still enjoyed it.
The Cardigans
4/5
I liked this. Lovefool is a certified banger. The Iron Man cover deeply offended me on first listen, I couldn't get over the kinky "ohhhhh, Iron Man" that she kept singing. I listened again and got over it. Cool cover. Cool album.
Cocteau Twins
3/5
A lot of the songs sounded the same and it has that iconic 90s whiny girl vocalist (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). I enjoyed my listen even though nothing in particular really stood out.
Louis Prima
4/5
Not much to dislike about this one.
R.E.M.
3/5
Peter Gabriel
2/5
Meh. I didn’t really like it.
Laibach
1/5
Not my thing at all. The entire thing is sang in German! How am i supposed to enjoy this???
Amy Winehouse
4/5
Every time one of her albums comes up I am pleasantly surprised. She sounds a lot like Billie Holiday on this one.
The xx
2/5
Meh
The Chemical Brothers
3/5
This was very good background music for me while I worked. I can't imagine another scenario where I'd put this album on.
Queens of the Stone Age
3/5
Dirty and gritty, but not quite as polished as the group will become.
4/5
This is my kind of shit. Hell yeah.
Television
4/5
Most of these riffs feel way ahead of their time. Really good album.
Prince
3/5
Good stuff but I feel like some of the songs are unnecessarily long. Very VERY 80s.
The Incredible String Band
2/5
There's actually some pretty cool stuff in here, you just have to listen through a few piles of crap to get to it.
Fatboy Slim
2/5
Samples and loops over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Decent background music.
Genesis
3/5
Yeah, this is nice.
