First time listening this and I can absolutely hear where many early 00's indie bands got their inspiration. Totally understand why I Wanna Be Adored is rated so high but I was rocking to Made Of Stone and I Am The Resurrection.
The first half of this album is amazing. The second half is okay.
I can absolutely see how this basically inspired most of the sound in the 80s. Great variety of electronic beats. It won't stick with me but I thrilled to have heard it.
One of the Doors weaker albums.
Still such a good listen. Forgot how much Intervention, No Car Go, and My Body Is A Cage forged a lot of my taste out of school.
I appreciate Stewart's career but this didn't click for me
Far fewer hits then I remember but Changes, Life on Mars, and Queen Bitch still rock my world.
So wild to hear their distinct sound in such mundane songs.
Similar sound across the album with some catchy earworms.
Started strong but took a dip. Lots of catchy samples.
Hang Onto Your Ego hits differently today. Also, is it weird that the mono version sounds way better then the stereo version?
It's strongly tied to the time it came out in.
Classic punk that still hits. Loved this one.
A nice folksy sound but nothing that shook my tree.
Limelight still rocks.
I really like the flaming lips but only one song stuck out to me on this album.
Great grungy punk sound
So freaking good. Only complaint is that technology of that era doesn't capture the full range of Franklin.
I love Dylan but this dragggggggggged.
Renaissance festival music
Meh
1st half is amazing. 2nd half, not so much
Pretty and sweet. Sounds all the same though. Clear lyrics are always a plus to me.
Loved this! Hate Black Magic Woman, but everything else was wonderful.
I was looking forward to this but it was so...... Safe?
I loved it when they just jammed. But the singing was just meh
Just so good and this was their 1st album.
I prefer Dylan in 1-2 songs per listen. A whole album is a bit rough.
Shout out to Bioshock Infinite for pointing me in this band's direction back in 2013.
Me: This feels like The Matrix. The Matrix Soundtrack: Good job.
When I was working in a mall, Anita's songs were played on loop resulting in me linking these songs to capitalism and entitlement. Not her fault but I just can't.
I know exactly the kind of audience this music goes for.
I hate Sledgehammer but LOVE LOVE In Your Eyes
Maybe cause it's a rainy day but this really grooved for me.
Ushered me into listening to more electronic psychedelic sounds.
Has some great grooves.
Sometimes this music hits for me but most times, I cannot connect with it.
Damn it, CCR just bops. Loses one star due to having a cursed song for my life.
Shine On and Wish You Were Here just hit so damn hard that poor Machine and Cigars get lost to time even though they are such bangers.
This album came out right when I needed it, so itll always have a soft spot for me.
Mixed bag that hardly gave a good track.
Very british
I want to like the cure, I really do.
Had forgotten how much I enjoyed Sad Lisa.
Playful but dated.
Appreciate the contributions to the genre.
I'm digging for fire!
I don't know, Rush is just fun.
Ehh
Delightful
Nice to hear.
How was this 1977?
Another band introduced to me by Buffy.
Those drums and guitar just hit.
Three powerhouses with classic country sound
Goes in a lot of directions but has some great bops.
What an ALBUM. Just so beautiful and chill.
Started the Spotify listen and knew it was wrong. Found the tracks on YouTube and just enjoyed the jam. So freaking good.
Fun beats but "it all sounded the same"
Perfect music to move to. Whether it's dancing or cleaning.
Not in my top three REM albums but if losing this album loses The One I Love, I'll protect this album with everything I got.
Not my fav album of hers but I just love her style so much.
I AM, i am, SOMEBODY, somebody
Lost Cause is amazing but his later albums are more my style.
If you are going through it, this could help you process. But I think you have to be in that mindset to "like" this.
They nailed the ethereal but it doesn't go anywhere
Sometimes, I just, I just gotta dance
By The Time I Get To Phoenix is a JOURNEY
I noted to someone once that it's sad how many musicians in their music claim to be against discrimination, patriarchy, and the established system.... But then use all their wealth and influence to support discrimination, patriarchy, and the established system. But I guess Bawitdaba was a good bop.
Fun
Nelson's voice is amazing but there's something about this type of country that doesn't click with me
Decent
This was cute and cheeky
Swung wildly between enthusiastic bops to forgettable yelling.
So many hits that manage to sound just different enough to not get confusing. Garden still hits me so hard.
32 minutes that made cleaning fun.
Meant to scare those in power but simultaneously places a boot on the neck of women in order to do it.
Didn't hate it as much as I thought I would from the first track. The guitars and drums are great but it wears down the longer the album goes on.
Hope I get reincarnated as Patti Smith. Still hate Bird land, but the rest is wonderful.
