Fred Neil by Fred Neil

Nice, this is what this project is about. Had heard everybody's talkin' before but could pin this song to an artist. Never heard of fred neil before but am very happy to discover him. Find his voice very appealing and like how intimate and personal these songs feel. Cynicrustpetefredjohn raga to close this lp shows some experimental quality that i admire.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper

Finally another female artist. And what an album. Amazing that this was her debut record. It provides so much girl power energy in the best way and so many hit. I mean, girls just wanna have fun, she bop, all through the night. What a great collection. And time after time is my absolute favorite of hers. Crazy good song. Love the variety of styles over the different songs. And still, they work together. Shows me a lot of craftswomanship as a song writer. Also found out that cyndi won a grammy as well as a tony and an emmy. Awesome. And it prolly left a huge legacy and inspiration for current artists. For some reason i think, there would be no chappell roan without her.

Easily one of my favorite lps ever. The setting, the performance, the history around it. So hauntingly beautiful.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Jun 02 2025

Interesting blues and folk sounds make this an enjoyable experience. Quality of songs varies quiet a bit tho. Many bangers but some rather mediocre pieces as well. However great overall!

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Jun 03 2025

Only knew Alright before and was really suprised by this awesome brit rock/pop record with so much energy and yet a few changes of pace within. Greatly enjoyed this one!

Diamond Life by Sade
Jun 04 2025

Souly pop record that seems like solid background music. Lacks some spice though.

Jun 25 2025

Man, this takes me back to my teenage years. One of my most listened to CDs of all time because it fucking slaps. Just love the energy and vibe this record brings. It changes pace at the right moments and keeps suprising you. Love all of these songs. Prolly one of the rare no skip lps for me.

Jun 26 2025

Monumental release! Would have been good albums by themselves. But put out together these to lps complement each other well. Super fluid hip hop record followed by a super creative funk, jazz, soul album referencing each other is fun to listen too. Banger singles on both discs. Hey ya, the way you move, roses - damn! But also many of the lesser know tracks are great. I enjoy e.g. unhappy, the rooster and happy valentine's day. These two hours never drag. Really respect this achievement!

Van Halen by Van Halen
Jun 27 2025

Huge guitars with complicated solos and memorable riff blend together perfectly with great vocals to create a typical glam sound ypu want to listen to with the volume cranked up all the way. Cool kinks cover. Aint talkin about love riff is just iconic. Not in love with the ice cream man. Great, straight forward rock record!

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jun 30 2025

Soothing jazz album. Like the side a more than b.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Jul 01 2025

Solid album with little to none tracks that I dont like. Fascinating that this new wave sound not from the 80s. However, i am missing more tracks that stand out like psycho killer.

I guess im not musically educated or old enough to really appreciate what these musicians are doing. However, this aggressive free jazz record is not something I can enjoy at all.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jul 18 2025

Groovy guitar masterclass. Middle tracks remind you that this was created while the beatles prime period. Didnt know that all along the watchtower is a cover of a dylan song. Overall just great. Rare no skip album.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jul 21 2025

Groovy album with funky baselines. The dre/snoop dog combo is fun to listen to. They just both flow along in a smooth west coast style. Love the backing vocals on many tracks. Lyrically there are many songs that didnt age well.

Funeral by Arcade Fire
Jul 22 2025

Nice debut with fresh indie sounds. Love the instrumentation. Really likr the run of neighborhood songs. Wake up is a nice tune. Some if the other tracks feel a little stale tho. Not 100% in with the singers voice. And yet i have to add one extra star for rebellion. What a banger song that has been a great compagnon for two decades now an still hits as hard as in the beginning of the 00s.

Jul 23 2025

As a sci fi fan i just love this album because this lp takes you on an epic journey through time and space. The music allows you to float along in zero gravity, exploring all kinds of new planets and concepts, while maintaining a speed that makes you feel warm and safe as well as getting you quickly from a to b in this vast tthingof nothingness we call our universe. Love to listen to this in its entirety to make it feel like experiencing a great saga. However, single tracks like time, money or great gig in the sky easily hold up on their own. What an awesome record!

Vol. 4 by Black Sabbath
Jul 24 2025

Awesome doom metal album. So many hauntingly beautiful riffs and solos on here. Fascinating that tomorrow's dream was picked as the single. I like supernaut under the sun and especially snowblind all better. Changes as the soft ballad of the record also works for me. Great record!

Synchronicity by The Police
Jul 25 2025

Wow, what a mixed bag this was. Side a of this LP is weak. Mother is a standout weird song and really feels like a record scratch moment that makes you check if you are still listening to the same album. Side b is way stronger. Every breath you take, king of pain and wrapped around your finger is a nice run of enjoyable songs. If i put a lot of emphasis on those good tracks and let them do very heavy lifting 3 stars sounds okay.

Jul 28 2025

Perfect music to rock in the shire, to dance to with your leprechaun friends or to raid a boat to. Unfortunatly I am neither a hobbit, a pirate nor do i know any magical goblins. Also don't celebrate St Patricks day. I respect their craft, but would not know when to put this record on.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jul 29 2025

Holy moly, what a cool piece of art. Sometimes i forget that i like this trip hop stuff, but this LP reminded me vehemently. On this fusion kitchen of hip hop, funk, soul, jazz and rock DJ Shadow proves that this guy knows how to cook. Bonus points fornthe context again. This is entirely made out off samples, which is fun. Found that Radiohead got inspired by this for some parts of OK Computer. Thank you for that! So why not 5 stars?!

Here Are the Sonics by The Sonics
Jul 30 2025

Simple, short and straight forward rock album that gives you the early Beatles feel. Covered Roll over beethoven just like about any great band during that era and interpreted a lot of other songs as well. Like the drive and enthusiasm of the singer. The shouting at the beginning of tracks gives me stu king gizzy vibes. Black keys must have listened to Have love will travel. Love that the garage rock influence reaches this far.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Jul 31 2025

Love the energy of this live album. Very upbeat for blues music. Strong singing performance. I can understand why this was very influencial, given this was one of the first concert recordings of this genre.

Reggatta De Blanc by The Police
Aug 01 2025

Love message in a bottle. Apprechiate walking on the moon. Dont care for the rest that much and have to say that the on any other day lyrics didnt age well.

Dummy by Portishead
Aug 02 2025

Gloomy triphop meets a beautifully haunting voice. Sour times, its a fire, ..roads and glory box are standout tracks that are all great on their own. And yet, i like this album even more because it works in its entirety with every song flowing smoothly into the next one. Mezzanine by massive attack could probably not exist without this lp. 4 stars because it is missing this one iconic single.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Aug 02 2025

Cute little folk record, that feels very intimate, since we only hear the artist and a guitar. Pink moon ist a great title track. The rest is nice but not outstanding.

Chore of Enchantment by Giant Sand
Aug 03 2025

Well-crafted country/americana rock album. And yet, I found it fairly uneventful. No real song highlights that either rocked or reached me on a different level emotionally.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Aug 04 2025

Powerful story to this record with the band being displaced and trying to recreate the sound of northern mali to give some piece of home to other people with the same destiny. Really like their desert blues style. Reminds me of arc de soleil and even khruangbin from time to time. The vocals are a little repetitive but love the riffs and bass lines. Songs that stand out to me are Sourbour, Sekou Oumarou, Petit Metier and Jolie. Glad i got to discover this!

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Aug 05 2025

Very easy to listen to. Love the Knopfler guitar style. Not a bad song on there. Im a sucker for trivia, so this being the first cd to sell over 1 million copies adds to the legacy of this record for me. But this lp misses big hits and a change of pace in its laid back sound to make it more interesting.

Hypnotised by The Undertones
Aug 06 2025

Interesting pop, punk, rock record that feels younger than it is. Simple songs about growing up. A lot of them are catchy. I liked the way girls talk and i told you so the most. However, only decent album since this style is not entirely my cup of tea.

We're Only In It For The Money by The Mothers Of Invention
Aug 07 2025

I would not call this an album but an artistic sound artifact. Interesting period piece that gives you an idea what they were thinking about during this time. Horrible to listen to.

Being There by Wilco
Aug 08 2025

Long americana, alt-rock, country record that has its moments. Monday, outtasite, hotel arizona and kingpin stuck with me. But given its length it lacks more highlights like this. For my taste it would have been better to make one album out of this material by cutting a few tracks and not a double lp. Solid record tho that could be a nice roadtrip soundtrack.

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Aug 09 2025

Great voice, emotional song writing, good production. Not a bad song on there. Really admire lets stay together, old time lovin and how can you mend a broken heart. Would have loved this record to be longer than 34 mins.

If You're Feeling Sinister by Belle & Sebastian
Aug 10 2025

Sweet songwriting and beautiful vocals provide you with a very intimate indie pop experience. Autumn music for me. Interesting that the artists requested to not promote this LP and not put out a single from this. Especially like the tracks like dylan in the movies, if youre feeling sinister and the boy done wrong again.

Gorillaz by Gorillaz
Aug 11 2025

Remember the hype from back then for this release. A virtual band was something completely new. Clint eastwood was rocking so hard. Never listened to the full album tho until now. Takes a while to get drawn in at first, but from track 5 on this record really takes of and throws a lot of great songs at you. Love the hypnotizing vocals, the many change-ups do to the many features and the general overarching groove that somehow binds it all together.

Superunknown by Soundgarden
Aug 12 2025

Awesome, energetic grunge record that is on the heavier side. Nice vocals, great riffs, many banger songs. Not much more to say.

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Aug 13 2025

Facinating little trip here. Maybe literally. This interesting, but short bluesy rock record feels like if you were wondering wonderland with alice after you took some shrooms while someone put on a slowed down version of sympathy for the devil. And i like it. Croker courtbullion is a little too experimental for my taste, but all the other tracks have a cool vibe.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Aug 14 2025

Love the beatles, adore this album. Drive my car, michelle and norwegian wood are prolly the know hits from this one. But imo the word, in my life and you wont see me are very much hidden gems in their catalogue. And im looking through you will always have a special place in my heart. Also just a fun point in their development as a band. Feels like the first grown up album after their early period.

Odessa by Bee Gees
Aug 15 2025

Record with a great vision. This magnum opus feels like their try to produce their version of the white album. Many tracks with totally different genres on their. We go from folklore via rock/pop and country to classical stuff. While I can respect this concept approach i have to say that not too many songs stand out for me. Odessa or seven seas symphony are pretty tunes, but i admit, i just wanted more songs like marley purt drive, sound of love or never say never again.

Are You Experienced by Jimi Hendrix
Aug 16 2025

Crazy, that this is a debut album. Hendrix shows an incredible range of styles within rock music. So many bangers on this album. Purple haze, hey joe, fire, foxey lady, the wind cries mary. Simply outrageously good to have this many hits on one lp.

Parachutes by Coldplay
Aug 17 2025

Early coldplay was fire. Perfect rock pop album. Feels like a warm comfy blanket. As a teenager i borrowed this cd so many times from the local library. Chris Martin's voice is mesmerizing. So many great songs on there. Love yellow, spies, sparks and everything's not lost. No skip album for me.

Aug 18 2025

Solid pop/rock album that is easy to listen to. Interesting arrangements and production details. Drive, man on the moon, everybody hurts and nightswimming are sweet memorable songs. And yet, this music still seems to lack some spice that gives it another layer for my taste.

Aug 19 2025

Very sensitive and soulful music with amazing vocals. What a talent mayfield was. Like the production and instrumentation. Misses the absolute banger hits tho like he had on curtis.

Paul Simon by Paul Simon
Aug 20 2025

Solid pop/rock/folk album which is an interesting period piece looking at simons career and his breakup with garfunkel. You can feel the song writing talent. Like his vocals as well. He seems to want to show his musical range with a lot of genre hopping. While i admire the wish to display the mastery of everything from blues to reggea, it does not help the record imo. The tracks do not blend enough to make this feel like a coherent lp and bumps the rating down a little bit. Still very enjoyable.

Fred Neil by Fred Neil
Aug 21 2025

Nice, this is what this project is about. Had heard everybody's talkin' before but could pin this song to an artist. Never heard of fred neil before but am very happy to discover him. Find his voice very appealing and like how intimate and personal these songs feel. Cynicrustpetefredjohn raga to close this lp shows some experimental quality that i admire.

Aug 22 2025

It is not every day that you listen to a song about sex dwarfs, but hey this album is called non-stop erotic cabaret after all. This tainted ove version is legendary. So much, that they used its vibes in where did our love go. Bed sitter and memorabilia are cool as well. While irritating at times this lp grew on me while listening to it and i find many of these synth pop song very danceable. Lets give this album some extra credit for being very provocative at the time. Very interesting listen.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Aug 23 2025

Never heard of them, but quite like this dream pop album. Their style sounds very modern for the time of release. Love the soundscapes they produce and how they experiment quite a lot technically with a whole bunch of different synthies and effects. This lp flows very well for me. Vocals, melodies and effects blend so beautifully. Heaven of las vegas, iceblink luck and frou-frou foxes in midsummer fires are the standout tracks. For a german speaker fotzepolitic is a standout song title as well. Love it! 3,5 is 4 for me.

Third by Portishead
Aug 24 2025

Read a bit about this album and find it interesting how the tried to renew themselves here, switching instruments even. This entire album contains many very interesting bits and pieces. Beth's voice is as beautiful as ever. Quite a few interesting song ideas on here. Deep water feels like the track from the her soundtrack that the AI writes on the beach. Silence is such a tease with its abrupt ending. The rip is another nice buildup song. However, this entire album feels like it is made out of fragments that do not fit completely. While I admire this experimental vibe, it does make this a little hard to listen to.

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
Aug 25 2025

Moribund the burgermeister is one of the weirder title tracks i have heard. Maybe this song makes the hit of the album, solsbury hill, feel so much better. Unfortunately it doesnt get better than this song. Modern love and here comes te flood are interesting tunes. But for some reason this entire work doesnt click with me. The lp feels a little all over the place with the the general flow, overproduced and like i am missing an important piece to understand gabriel's overarching vision here. It rather seems to be a totally mixed bag of songs i do not particullarly like.

Aug 26 2025

Another hidden gem i would not have discovered without this. Mixes funk, soul and jazz very well. Like where was you at, city, country, city, four cornered room especially and the title giving track especially. Album flows very well and never drags.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Aug 27 2025

Energetic soul album that had me grooving right away. Bobby has a nice voice and is stringing together many fun disco or soul tunes here. Lay your lovin on me, if you think youre lonely now and stand up are the standouts for me. Like but not love this lp.

Elephant Mountain by The Youngbloods
Aug 28 2025

Another interesting find here. Love the vibes of this album. Apart from the great first track darkness, darkness it provides several other good songs. Quicksand, beautiful, sham and ride the wind all deserve a mention here. So i guess i dig this lp a lot.

Among The Living by Anthrax
Aug 29 2025

Wow, this album does not give you the chance to catch a breath. Really liked i am the law, efilnikufesin and a.d.i./horror of it all.

25 by Adele
Aug 30 2025

I always try to guess who we will talk about in 50 years when we look at the music from the 2010s on. Adele is a strong guess of mine and this album a reason why. Obviously her awesome voice carries this entire lp, but this should not distract you from neatly put together arrangements and great songwriting. Like the concept of a make-up album - making peace with yourself and your past. Hello, i miss you, remedy, love in the dark sweetest devotion - all highly emotional bangers that hit hard. What a talent she is! :) And yay, finally a female voice on here. Below 10% So far with my draw here.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Aug 31 2025

A favorite of mine, when i went to school. Mr brightside was just such a big song back then. When you went out this song always came up during the night and everybody went nuts. Very interesting to listen to the entire album again now about two decades later. It brought up a lot of great memories and still holds up. As many debut records, it seems to release a lot of build up energy all at once. While being fairly straight-forward in their indie rock sound, i do enjoy that the killers make their music feel huge, like you can only play it in the vastness of the nevada desert blasting it out full volume. Love how they created rock anthems in this way. The record is unbalanced tho. The back half contains a few songs that are filler and should have gone to a b-side. The only reason for me to take away a star from an lp that begins with a five song stretch not many albums can rival. Jenny was a friend of mine, mr brightside, smile like you mean it, somebody told me, all these things that ive done. Wow, what an insane sequence of indie bangers.

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Sep 01 2025

Cool electronic rave album. Much more interesting than the Orbital book that is floating around right now. This sounds fairly modern for being released in '93. Like planet of the shapes and halcyon+on+on a lot. Very easy to listen to and quite danceable.

Smash by The Offspring
Sep 02 2025

Takes me back to my teenage years. Their sound worked so well during that time. Straight forward punk vibe, fairly simple melodies and a lot of energy. Self-esteem was such an anthem and still works. But this album becomes a little boring today. It is the same sound all the way through. A little more variety is missing to rate this higher than mid.

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Sep 03 2025

Glad that i got to experience this brazilian star, even though i see that the book has messed up here and actually tagged a wrong album. So pretty hard to rate because of this. The compilation that was linked here flows in a nice way. And yet, going by some random reddit commets, the authors meant to put in elis as her lp. Maybe it appears later so i will give this here a mildly interesting rating.

Sep 04 2025

"I don't believe in beatles" - this line of god always breaks my heart. john is still at the heights of his powers here and this would have meant that there could have been a few more great beatles records. However, lennon created a deeply personal experience here. Musically there is nothing new compared to his beatles approaches. But why change a winning formula, right? Love many of the songs on there. Mother, hold on, working class hero, isolation are all great. And most of the other tracks hold up as well.

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Sep 05 2025

Holy moly, what a ride. I knew they existed, but im very intrigued to dig deeper after this experience. These loud and distorted guitars simply slay. Love the grungy sound. Kracked, raisans, tarpit are my faves. Enjoy the cure cover as well.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Sep 06 2025

Finally another female artist. And what an album. Amazing that this was her debut record. It provides so much girl power energy in the best way and so many hit. I mean, girls just wanna have fun, she bop, all through the night. What a great collection. And time after time is my absolute favorite of hers. Crazy good song. For some reason i think, there would be no chappell roan without her.

Cloud Nine by The Temptations
Sep 07 2025

Incredible vocal performances and an irresistable groove through the entire record. Cloud nine, i heard it through the grapevine, runaway child running wild are all bangers. What a pleasant suprise this is.

Fragile by Yes
Sep 08 2025

I do not know what to do with this. There were some very interesting bass lines and overall vibes. On the other side, this entire record is very all over the place and does not establish a good overarching rythm for me, which makes it rather hard to listen to. Maybe just dont get the concept of this lp.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Sep 17 2025

Sweet child of mine is great. Welcome to the jungle, night train and paradise city are cool. But this album in its entirety feels only average to me. Everything "rocks" in the same way. Nothing on it that suprises you in a pleasent way. Solid work, but not super imaginative.

Odelay by Beck
Sep 18 2025

Very interesting blend of styles. Love the cover and the general groove of the record. Lacks smash hits for me to rate it higher.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Sep 19 2025

Whats a pleasant suprise. Possibly a no skip album for me. Love the riffs on so many songs and really dig this general britpop vibe. The tone of the songs differ quite a lot and yet they work together well. Sunflower, all the pictures on the wall, moon on pyjamas and shadow of the suns are great.

Remain In Light by Talking Heads
Sep 20 2025

Seen this album on many lists and knew some tracks before listening to the entire lp in one sitting. This record sounds very fresh and modern. It incorporates many influences and genres. I love how they just let their creativity flow and didnt box themselves in into one sound. Fairly easy to listend to and it has once in a lifetime as a banger track on it. I also enjoy ...crosseyed and painless and the great curve. But imo the record falls off quite a bit after a strong first half. Cant go higher than 3stars.

World Clique by Deee-Lite
Sep 21 2025

90s dance music. Fine record with groove is in the heart as a famous smash hit. But i have to say that this music is not my cup of tea. It can easily run in the background but does not much for me.

Exit Planet Dust by The Chemical Brothers
Sep 22 2025

What an awesome experience this album is. Such an interesting blend of drumnbass, triphop and industrial sounding electronic music. I didnt know i was a fan of this. So many tracks that build up well themselves and work together greatly.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Sep 23 2025

This album feels like it is best listened to while taking a fun road trip through a vast landscape. Love the improv style of most of the guitar riffs and solos. Especially dig the tracks waitin for the bus beer drinkers and hell raisers, la grange and sheik as a cool change of tempo. High quality record through and through.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Sep 25 2025

Great debut album. These songs sound ao polished for being written by a teenager. Very interesting blend of alanis morissette and nora jones energy. Also very glad to finally get a female voice on here again. However im missing a few banger songs to rate this higher than that.

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Sep 26 2025

Strong song writing produces a very distinct; polished and modern sound. Really admire the resulting new wave record that flows very well. Great song quality throughout. Not one track i would skip. It misses the one lp defining hit single tho for me.

Bryter Layter by Nick Drake
Sep 27 2025

Another soft and fluffy record in the best way with neat songwriting and arrangements. Everything flows very well around the artists vision and voice. It is interesting to see what drake did with more musicians in the room compared to pink moon. Songs sound less intimate and dramatic. While i still apprechiate this record, i prefer the pink moon solo experience.

Berlin by Lou Reed
Sep 28 2025

Reed has many shades of bowie in him. First thing that comes to mind. Praise of course, but also prolly selling him short, since this talented musician deserves to be seen by himself. Really admire this very thoughful, calm and emotional display of music. Interesting concept to write a rock opera. Works for me.

Shaft by Isaac Hayes
Sep 29 2025

Interesting background vibe music. But this soundtrack doesnt give me enough to really go on about.

Different Class by Pulp
Sep 30 2025

Lyrically there are some very intereting songs on here. E.g. common people hits home with me. Musically i found this record a little boring tho. I feels like this britpop/rock record is trapped in between eras and does not manage to bridge the gap well. The cure or the smiths just did the pop part better. Oasis, blur, supergrass all rock more. So this feels very meh to me.

Colour By Numbers by Culture Club
Oct 21 2025

This album feels like vanilla ice cream. Many people like it. It goes well with a lot of things. Its better than no ice cream obviously. And yet, if you have a full flavor palette at your disposal you would pick something more interesting. The record has some nice songs on it. Karma chameleon is a classic. Miss me blind was a pleasant suprise. But the entire thing is a little boring and feels repetitive. Not my thing.

Throwing Muses by Throwing Muses
Oct 22 2025

Yay, finally a female voice on here again. Unfortunately i cannot get into the sound of this band. Dont know how to describe this blend of new wave, punk and other rock elements - alternative i guess? Anyway, not an easy enjoyable listen for me.

Achtung Baby by U2
Oct 23 2025

Solid rock album that has a few gem songs on it. One is great. So cruel got me lyrically. Ultra violet is cool. It is fascinating how you can see so many of their songs being played in a stadium. But that just seems to be their artistic apporach I guess.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Oct 24 2025

Man, this curvy diva did not only brighten up fight club but is also smashing all the singing parts on this lp. I love how they gave every extravagant piece room to breath and included even the out there skit before the second song just cause they felt like it. So many amazing songs on here, what a great voice! I just want to ride this flaming bike and listen to this record.

Can't Buy A Thrill by Steely Dan
Oct 25 2025

What a pleasant ride this classic rock album was. Dad rock at its best. Do it again, dirty work and reelin in the years are bangers.

Da Capo by Love

What an interestint blend of genres. I respect how they mixed rock, jazz and some Bach. However, apart from the last long track it was not my cup of tea.

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Oct 27 2025

Very sweet session of jazz by a talented group of musicians. Love Smith' organ. Would bea nice background LP to have for hosting guests.

Murmur by R.E.M.
Oct 28 2025

Well-crafted music. And yet, this album seems to be rather uneventful and boring. So this doesn't do much for me.

Jan 15 2026

Apparently I am a sucker für 80s U2. Always loved their best of for that decade. Got to listen to achtung baby and joshua tree on here back to back. What a super solid rock album overall. Not a bad song on there and the first three tracks where the streets have no name, i still havent found what im looking for and especially with or without rival almost any other lp for their top songs. The only thing i have to critizise is the pacing issue this run creates for this record in its entirety. Especially imagining this as a real lp side b drags a bit and misses one real hit.

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jan 16 2026

Wow, what a pleasant suprise. I only knew this as the hallelujah album and i expected songs in a similar vibe. But boy, was i wrong. Jeff also knows how to rock. Love the songwriting and his voice. Great lp!

Hotel California by Eagles
Jan 17 2026

Solid mainstream rock album that doesnt try to be anything else. Makes it fairly predictable. But hey, if people like your sound, why mess with it, right? The song quality and production of this particular lp is nice. Hotel california and life in the fast lane are classics. I really like try and love again as well. Would land at a 3.5. Lets round up.

Pump by Aerosmith
Jan 18 2026

Tylers voice is impressive, but not so listen to for me. I dont like dont want to miss a thing which is softrock at its best. They seem to be at their best going for that style imo. Them trying to do anything heavier does not resonate with me unfortunately.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Jan 19 2026

Interesting voice, cool sound and yet, pretty repetitive. It is amazing how many of the songs end with the fade out of a single phrase that gets repeated over and over again. Alison and red shoes are my favorite songs from this one.

Jan 20 2026

Apparently im a sucker for the smiths. Morrisseys songwriting and vocals are great. Enjoy the sad boy vibes as always. Really like the production of this one as well. Stop me if you think youve heard this one before is iconic.

Welcome To The Pleasuredome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood
Jan 21 2026

I love spending time in the pleasure dome. My dad used to like this album and thats why i got to exposed to it early on. Triggering childhood memories usually helps to ensure i higher rating here. Listening to it as adult, i can apprechiate the grand vision of the lp even more and am excited to see, that this even caused some political discourse. But even without all this prior knowledge there is so much to love. Fresh pop sounds that just pull you in. Nice production. Pretty big variety of song styles that they all pull of effortlessly. And then there are just the hits. I like relax and two tribes, but i love the born to run cover, krisco kisses and the power of love especially. What a great change of pace at the end.

Suzanne Vega by Suzanne Vega
Jan 22 2026

Pleasant suprise. Easy to listen to. Her music is very stripped down here, which makes it feel intimate. Like her voice and songwrting. Marlene on the wall and small blue thing are my favorite tracks.

Jan 23 2026

The lp slaps so hard. It is big, loud and dramatic. And i love it! So many great songs and they are all cool for a different reason. This blends queens of the stoneage, the killers and quite a bit of radiohead in the best way. Supermassive blackhole is a banger. But knights of cydonia might have grabbed the song of the record title in the end there. 4.5 for me, so lets round up. :)

Jan 24 2026

Easily one of my favorite lps ever. The setting, the performance, the history around it. So hauntingly beautiful.

Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter
Jan 25 2026

Cool to have some rather current music in this list. Never actually listened to deerhunter but am glad that this album was suggested here. Very gloomy, dreamy listen with a lot of things happening. Like the concept of bottling up memories here. Throughout many strong tracks that are all interesting by their own. And yet, i adore how every flows. songs i liked the most are earthquake, desire lines and he would have lughed.

Jan 26 2026

And interesting testimony of the time. I always respect people for being political. But musically this doesnt do too much for me. i cannot picture myself in a situation where i would think 'i need to listen to this record to make this moment perfect'. giving two points for blowin' in the wind and corrina, corrina.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Jan 27 2026

Well, isnt this iconic?! ;) Great album. Alanis has so much to say on this one and does it with a lot of power. ironic is the best song. you oughta know, hand in my pocket and you learn are all great as well.

G. Love And Special Sauce by G. Love & Special Sauce
Jan 28 2026

Very interesting blend of music. Especially with this being 30 years old. To my untrained rap ear this sounded like a mac miller npr session from time to time. Enjoyed babys got sauce, cold beverage and this aint living the most. and hey, a basketball song also scores some points with me. :)

Crosby, Stills & Nash by Crosby, Stills & Nash
Jan 29 2026

Interesting album that captures the vibe of the time nicely. Love their harmony vocal work, but overall just to folky and monotonous to me. Wooden ship, helplessly hoping and long time gone are the standout tracks for me. A lot of filler with the rest imo.

Cupid & Psyche 85 by Scritti Politti
Jan 30 2026

Solidly produced pop music. But I have to admit. This doesnt do much for me. I would not change the channel on the radio, but I would also prolly seek out this album actively.

Daydream Nation by Sonic Youth
Jan 31 2026

Very interesting lp that combines a lot of genres. I enjoy the bits that sound more like indie and post rock. Not so much the punk and noise parts. Not so sure what to do with this?

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah
Feb 01 2026

Not a huge hiphop head, but this album is just a great vibe. Bonus point for seeing a woman on here again.

Suede by Suede
Feb 02 2026

Didnt do too much for me. There are simply better records for this genre.

It's Blitz! by Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Feb 03 2026

What a strong start with zero and heads will roll. Love the overall vibe with this electro pop that just rocks enough and her piercing voice!

The Köln Concert by Keith Jarrett
Feb 04 2026

Great concert recording. Especially the first track is stunningly good. I guess i have to check out the movie Köln 75 now, that touches on the time and the young woman who organized this gig.

S&M by Metallica
Feb 05 2026

Teenage me was so blown away by this crossover of metal and an orchestra. Adult me might apprechiate this master piece even more. This record feels so rich and powerful.

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Feb 06 2026

Cool guitar, groovy sounds, nice rusty voice. But it is much of the same flavor.

Feb 07 2026

In my early teen year this was my favorite beatles album. Since then a few others have overtaken its place. Still an lp that warms my heart. Great psychodelic vibe. Strongest ringo song. And a day in life is a master piece.

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Feb 08 2026

Never heard of them before, but really liked this lp as an overall experience. Loud, a little more quiet, rocking and even a little but psychedelic - many tones are captured here. Like it!

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Feb 09 2026

Interesting info that this was their debut. All of the stuff i like from later albums is there. But it feels like all of it needs quite a bit of finetuning.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Feb 10 2026

Nice, this is a lot better than freewhilin' imo. There is a lot more happening musically. Like a rolling stone is a banger.

The Libertines by The Libertines
Feb 11 2026

When this came out, i was into brit pop rock stuff but never got all the fuzz around pete. Two decades later it is the same. There are some really catchy tunes on this album, but i just dont enjoy their vocals.

Tragic Songs of Life by The Louvin Brothers
Feb 12 2026

In the pines made me listen up as an avid fan of the Nirvana Unplugged. Check out where did you sleep last night? there. Interesting that this music also has some Greek sounding folklore vibes. However, nothing that i would listen to on a regular basis. Cute harmonies, but a bit repetitive overall.

Melodrama by Lorde
Feb 17 2026

Emotional indie album with the right blend of heart-felt slower songs and some louder bangers with some force behind it. Love her voice! Green light is a banger. Supercut and the louvre are great too.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Feb 18 2026

I enjoyed this little trip to cuba. Maybe i should listen to more latin music with bad bunny rocking the superbowl

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Feb 19 2026

Hauntingly beautiful in a way. Really enjoy how everything flows together. Misses hits, but strong lp.

Feb 20 2026

Fluffy electronic music with cute remixes. Still feels like some of your friends are messing with you dj equipment.

Dookie by Green Day
Feb 21 2026

Like this record more than i would have thought. This lp is exactly what i wanted for this soft punk genre. And i can see that this must have been so influential for all the blink182s and sum41s that came after. Basket case is pretty iconic.

The Gilded Palace Of Sin by The Flying Burrito Brothers
Feb 22 2026

Interesting americana/country album with a few catchy tunes. But nothing special on there that would make me come back intentionally.

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
Feb 23 2026

Very short but still super sweet. A hard days night, if i fell, cant buy me love and any time at all are my favorites on this lp.

The Velvet Underground by The Velvet Underground
Feb 24 2026

Classic album, but lets be honest here. This lp is really hit and miss.

Liquid Swords by GZA
Mar 09 2026

What an intro. Flows all the way through. Solid record.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Mar 10 2026

Some songs are only mediocre. But band on a run, jet, let me roll it and 1985 are bangers. I guess im a sucker for Paul.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Mar 11 2026

Beautiful voice. Cute folky record.

Faust IV by Faust
Mar 12 2026

What a find! A German prog/post/psych rock band that sounds like a King Gizzy jam session? Awesome!

GREY Area by Little Simz
Mar 13 2026

What a pleasant suprise. Will have her on my radar now. Beautiful melodies and nice flow.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Mar 14 2026

Cute little country album. Like her energy and interesting voice. Here i am and early morning breeze are fun.

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Apr 12 2026

Sounds like an early Beatles b side. Decent, but missing some standout songs for sure.

Transformer by Lou Reed
Apr 13 2026

Didnt know i would like Lou that much. Knew the banger songs. But the rest of the material ist strong as well.

The Band by The Band
Apr 14 2026

Cute classic rock album. Funny to hear that the night they drove old dixie town was the original for a German classic.

Sheet Music by 10cc
Apr 16 2026

Solid rock album i could see myself listening to on a long roadtrip.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Apr 17 2026

Massive album that flows very well and doesnt drag at any point. Great achivement given its length. Love the space theme and their style that seems to combine the beatles, queen and bowie. What a blend.

So by Peter Gabriel
May 09 2026

You can feel the Genesis vibe still. But thats not a bad thing. Many great songs and great overall flow for this record.

War by U2

The Coral by The Coral
May 25 2026

The sounded like a weird mando diao record. Not a fan.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
May 26 2026

Tenth avenue freeze-out, jungleland and born to run are alltimers. But the rest of the songs is only mid for me.

1984 by Van Halen
May 27 2026

Solid rock album but only seems to Have one gear.

May 29 2026

Nice, this is what i am here for. Never heard of them before. Love this funky record!

The Score by Fugees
May 30 2026

Easy 5 for me. Banger hit, so creative in general. Lauryn Hill is incredible!

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
May 31 2026

PJ is feeling so many things and we are lucky that she shares those raw emotions with us in this impressive way.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Jun 02 2026

Just such an amazing band progression from pablo honey via the bends to this.

Fuzzy Logic by Super Furry Animals
Jun 03 2026

Fun ride. But a little all over the place with the genre of the songs. I'm missing a general through line.

Talking Book by Stevie Wonder
Jun 12 2026

A rare no skip album with some absolute bangers on it. I mean you are the sunshine of my life, superstition, you and i - amazing.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Jun 13 2026

Absolute classic. The first half of this record is fire. The second half drops of a little bit unfortunately. But still so crazy to remember how ridicuclous their band lineup is from an individual musician perspective.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jun 14 2026

Prolly my most listened to album when i was a teen. So i was really interested how this debut would hold up and i have to say i was not disappointed. Still love the blend of genres and the lyrics hit even harder with some life experience and the knowledge of where Chester ended up. RIP my man.

Wow, didnt expect this. Love the vibe of this record in its entirety.

Foo Fighters by Foo Fighters

Jun 17 2026

Parklife by Blur
Jun 18 2026

Solid brit pop album. Not my favorite flavor of it tho. Should be either better with its melodies or rock more. IMO caught up in between.

461 Ocean Boulevard by Eric Clapton
Jun 19 2026

Again i feel like a white male 60+ but i just like this music.

Play by Moby
Jun 20 2026

Relaxing and yet danceable. I was very suprised how many of those songs I knew without actively listening to them. Great album!

Jun 21 2026

All over the place. You can hear so many influences from different decades and bands. Doesnt blend together well for me tho
