Rock n roll with a little bit of punk and some interesting psychedelic parts. Mostly sounds like the kind of thing youβd use to score a 70βs high school movie where they smoke cigarettes and tailgate while wearing lots of denim. Or maybe something youβd smoke weed to in someoneβs garden shed/garage
Such poor sound quality itβs hard to even tell one song from the next. Unmistakably Johnny Cash but not particularly interesting. Hard to believe this is the stuff that used to be considered rebellious
Surprising number of known singles off the one album. Popular-style late 70βs rock. Would hear all of these songs on The Sound. Shades of The Clash. B-side much weaker unfortunately.
Great riffs and vocals. Feels like it would have really stood out in 1972 alongside Sabbath and Zeppelin, although this is higher energy than either of those without feeling at all thrashy. Nice album, with lots of interesting instrumental parts.
Yβall know what it is. Famous album, some legendary tracks, a few misses too though
Epic album. Made to be played loud. Such a big sound
Spacious and ethereal sounding, devastatingly sad, unsurprisingly given itβs about the death of his son. Not as amazing as critics would have you believe, but maybe you have to be in the right headspace, which I hope I never am.
Not the one for me Iβm afraid, a little too swoony.
Nice. A little cheesy but nice
Great album. Beautifully mixed. Great songwriting. Must have inspired a lot of subsequent indie rock. Lovely layers of sound on most songs.
Beatles album but worse
Awesome upbeat vibes. Comparable to M83. Kind of dance rock like Racing, but smoother and more airy and synthy. Some more ambient stuff thrown in there too. Fantastic album
Tunes.
Nice album, pleasant vibes
Some nuggets of gold and some lumps of coal on this record. Cobainβs voice seems to desert him during some songs, and is absolutely stunning during others.
Cool album. Super well produced. Sounds ahead of its time to me.
Not quite my tastes but objectively interesting and had some recognisable songs on the album. Hard to place genre-wise but had a bit of punk rock about it
Kinda psychedelic country? Very cool
Some pretty interesting stuff here. Can see how it might have been groundbreaking at the time. But some of it is just so so cheesy. Overall donβt think I could sit through the whole thing again
Very nice album. Love the acoustic electric which is all over this record.
Very cool live album. Great vocals and very spacial sound. Canβt believe I hadnβt heard of this artist before. Would definitely put this album on in TGβs shed.
Meh
Superbly mixed. Rock, blues and soul. Very nice backing vocals on many tracks. Nice piano on side 2
Cheesy, sorry Dad
Likes this album way more than I expected to. Consensus seems to be that this band spawned heavy metal and all its sub-genres. But I donβt think anything subsequent has matched how melodic and well written these songs are. Astonishing work
The vocal group that featured on Paul Simonβs Graceland. Has a lovely chanting feel to the music. Quite different to the western music Iβm used to, but still a very pleasant sound.
A very interesting album that was well ahead of its time in 2007, and would have inspired a lot of the alternative music that came after it. However, probably not as βgoodβ as it was important. The 90s albums like The Bends and OK Computer are still much better listening
Great album. Very nice vibes, love the guitar and vocals. Sounds like drinking craft beers at Paddyβs house
Thought the satar covers were cool, some songs were either originals or I didnβt recognise the song being covered. Some songs were far too frantic and unenjoyable to listen to. Hanna hated it
