Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Sep 01 2025

Always good to listen to Paul. This album is no different. Has some of his Beatles influences fused in; While different to stay current with the musical era. A well produced album all around

Melody A.M. by Röyksopp
Sep 03 2025

Very soothing, relaxed album feel. Classified as dance, I get it. But, it’s very ambient and more jazzy with the beats and vocals. Very upbeat coffee house vibes for most of the album. Definitely, up there for listening pleasure on my end. Favourite song would have to be “Röyskopp’s night out” a nice dark underground disco-ish vibe. I would also say it has a little Bond vibe as well. Liked the album, mixed all the way through. Definitely on the playlist now.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Sep 04 2025

First off… such a great era for alternative music. It’s very good mix of dirty guitar riffs and a soft dark melodic voice. Definitely seems like they have some Beatles influences. I enjoyed the whole album. Favourite song off this album was, “sworn and broken”

Mermaid Avenue by Billy Bragg
Sep 05 2025

Has that east coast feeling to the whole album. But, definitely has a good old school country twang in there. Liked some of the songs in the album. But, not enough to listen to it front to back consistently. I would have to say my favourite song was, “Christ for president”.

Illmatic by Nas
Sep 08 2025

Ohh gawd… this was a nice throwback for me. This was one of my first hip hop records. This to me was when hip hop was at one of its greatest eras of all time. Favourite song on this album is; “one love” feat. Q-tip. Q-tip is another great, but we are talking about Nas. Great album all around, something I can listen to front to back

Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Sep 09 2025

Great album. I only knew Bowie from the labyrinth and a few key songs. This is a totally different side of Bowie I’m hearing. I enjoyed the whole album

Blood Sugar Sex Magik by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Sep 10 2025

One of my favourite bands. Very much in my era for music as a child. Has the mix of jazzy licks, poetic verses, and of course Flea with his guitar/ on stage presence through-out the album. The whole band is a wrecking crew for what was 90’s alternative. They are a band that has stood the test of time in the music industry. And, also in my playlist…

Planet Rock: The Album by Afrika Bambaataa
Sep 11 2025

Total 80’s hip hop album. Completely enjoyed the whole thing. Can hear some run DMC in the beats and the rhymes. There is also songs like “renegades of funk”; I know the rage against the machine version. I’m guessing it was sampled and used from this original. Can’t get high hat and percussion away from 80’s hip hop…

Sep 15 2025

First off… it’s Lynyrd Skynyrd… classic. I would have to say the 70’s was a great era for albums that can be listened to front to back. The whole album has an amazing sound. Also has great hits like, “simple man”, and “free bird”.

The Bends by Radiohead
Sep 16 2025

For me iconic 90’s era music for the alternative scene. Great album front to back. I re-learned this band, again… Didn’t listen to much of there other albums besides this one.

American Idiot by Green Day
Sep 17 2025

Gawd 4 years after my graduation. #old balls. Hahaha great band, great album. Awesome 90’s, 00’s band that had there own unique sound/style.

The Blueprint by JAY Z
Sep 19 2025

It was a good album. Reminds me of my SAIT days. Yes, I’m old… haha I would have to say that my favourite song of the album would have to be, “renegade” feat. Eminem.

Horses by Patti Smith
Sep 22 2025

It wasn’t bad album overall. There was some good, some not that good songs. Didn’t really have a favourite song from this album. Seemed like an album you would play in a coffee house.

Doggystyle by Snoop Dogg
Sep 23 2025

One of my first rap albums ever.. probably one of Snoops best albums in my eyes. The whole album I can listen to front to back. My favourite song on the album would have to be, ‘who am i(what’s my name)’.

Green by R.E.M.
Sep 24 2025

A good alternative band for the era. Definitely a band that helped the alternative scene, well in my case anyway. Very similar to a ‘Tragically Hip’ sound. A good mix of traditional music instruments and newer aged electric instruments. Favourite song off the album would be; ‘Stand’. This song brought me back.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Sep 25 2025

Original blues for the win!! This was a great album to just sit back with a coffee and a doobie and listen. Enjoyed the whole album. I find you can’t go wrong with good classics like this.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Sep 26 2025

Throwback of what the grunge era of music for me. Highly distorted guitar riffs, slow off key singing. Really, gets you into a mood… either happy or mad… depending on the song. There wasn’t a song that stood out for me, enjoyed the whole album.

War by U2
Sep 29 2025

Usual U2 album. Was never a huge U2 fan

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sep 30 2025

Great album, knew most of the songs on it. Never knew the album or the names of some songs but when they started playing I recognized them right away. It’s an album that you can’t help but sing with or bop along too. You can’t never go wrong with CCR.

Oct 03 2025

I get that coffee house by the beach vibe from this album. Almost cultural, to a degree… São Paulo confessions…. Haha. I really enjoyed this album from beginning to end.

Bossanova by Pixies
Oct 06 2025

It overall was a good album. Very grunge-alt tempo and feel to the album.

Blonde On Blonde by Bob Dylan
Oct 07 2025

I think you either like Bob Dylan or you don’t. He has a distinct voice, but the band as a whole is great. I personally like his songs. They are almost story like too me.

LP1 by FKA twigs
Oct 08 2025

Not bad, I would say it’s more ambient, chill music for the ears. It’s definitely got a r&b sound. The vocals, I find are very melodic and more upfront; where the beats are more of a complement to the vocals.

Blur by Blur
Oct 15 2025

Great album, definitely brought me back to the 90’s

Wild Is The Wind by Nina Simone
Oct 16 2025

Liked the album, great jazzy songs

Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & The Holding Company
Oct 17 2025

Good mix of blues and rock and roll. Was surprised when I heard ‘piece of my heart’. I thought it was just a Janis Joplin solo song. Good over all album. Very appropriate for the peace, love, happiness era.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Oct 20 2025

Great album. Enjoyed listening to it front to back. Recognized some of the songs that were in movies. You can never go wrong with led zeppelin.

Oct 21 2025

It’s a mix of Beatles and Tom petty in my head anyways… haha good overall album, I enjoyed it from start to finish.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Oct 22 2025

Kind of reminds a little of the a mix of the cranberries and the rankin family. With the harmonies similar to the rankin family and the sound more like the cranberries. Good album overall though. Enjoyed the use of synthesizers and what sounds like a good drum loop.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Nov 10 2025

Love de la soul. One of my favourite rap groups. Me, myself and I is my favourite song off this album. I would have to say that they were one of the most influential groups in the rap genre, in my eyes anyway. They brought rhythm, great beats, and awesome lyrics to their music.

Nov 14 2025

Very 80’s, it’s was good for the era. Lots of synthesized music. Reminds me a lot of the David Bowie I remember from this era.

Kid A by Radiohead
Nov 25 2025

It was ok, not your typical Radiohead album. It was too different from what they used to do. A little too different for my liking.

White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
Nov 27 2025

Definitely that 60’s-70’s sound of long guitar solos and off tone singing. Overall it wasn’t a terrible album, wasn’t a great one either. It wasn’t terrible on the ears, but I think they spent to much time with the solos instead of the songs.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Nov 28 2025

Great album… able to listen to it all the way through. It was almost like being at there concert again

I Against I by Bad Brains
Dec 03 2025

Good overall album. Reminds me of the alternative music I’m used to listening to… definitely from the era of good alt rock from the late 80’s to early 90’s.

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
Dec 04 2025

Great album! Some good blues!! Haven’t heard good blues since. I like the scruffy voice, the guitar work, the nice rhythm. All around great album.

Dec 05 2025

Couldn’t do it, it was just noise to me. I don’t know how this is even considered music…

Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys
Dec 08 2025

Great album!! Very old school… but, it was some of the music that I was brought up with. Enjoyed the whole album. Favourite… obviously “wouldn’t it be nice”.

Rubber Soul by Beatles
Dec 09 2025

The Beatles are always a welcome band to listen to. Great album overall, my favourite song was, “I’m looking through you”

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Dec 10 2025

The Beatles are always a welcome band to listen to. Great album overall, my favourite song was, “I’m looking through you”

Kimono My House by Sparks
Dec 12 2025

Wasn’t a bad overall album, had some pretty good beats to listen to. Mostly an upbeat album. Couldn’t point out a favourite song, was all decent.

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
Dec 17 2025

You can never go wrong with some Tom Petty and the heartbreakers. Favourite is obviously not what you’re thinking, it’s ‘breakdown’ off this album. The whole album is good, first song to the last song.

Gold by Ryan Adams
Dec 19 2025

Very good listen all the way through. Was very almost like a tom petty style. Didn’t have a real favourite on the album.

Sail Away by Randy Newman
Dec 25 2025

Very easy listening, enjoyed from beginning to end. The album had a light tone that felt upbeat no matter what the song. I quite enjoyed it.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Dec 29 2025

Really enjoyed this one. It was a mix between jazz, funk, and good mix of it all. Couldn’t really pick out a song. Overall great album.

Songs From The Big Chair by Tears For Fears
Jan 06 2026

Hahahaha I never knew these guys… till I heard ‘Shout’ and ‘Everybody wants to rule the world’. Man this definitely makes me go back. Like when I was 3… hahaha the album over all is definitely 80’s, synthesized, electric guitar, etc. I did enjoy the whole album through.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jan 08 2026

Can’t ever go wrong with Run DMC. One of the originals for hip hop. Great album

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Jan 19 2026

This is my childhood… I would have been six when it came out. But, early teens this was one of my football go to for getting ready for a game. Such a great band, so many great songs on this album. My favourite song off this album would be, ‘one’. This group had stood the test of time in my eyes.

Hotel California by Eagles
Jan 20 2026

Great album. Always been a fan of the Eagles. Full of great songs like, ‘ The last resort ’, ‘ Hotel California ‘, and ‘Life in the fast lane’.

Grievous Angel by Gram Parsons
Jan 21 2026

Not my type of music… was quite the folk music album mixed country. Just didn’t like the album.

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jan 27 2026

Always a Bob Marley fan, and this album is a great one. He has a certain emotion in his music and quite the story teller. You can never go wrong with reggae.

Truth And Soul by Fishbone
Jan 30 2026

Great ska band!!! Good album all around. Mix of electric guitar, trumpets, electric piano, upbeat drumming. All the songs are good, couldn’t really pick one song out.

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Feb 02 2026

Great album!!! Grew up listening to him from my mom. So many songs on this album that I recognized. The obvious one would be, ’wild world’. But, this album has so many other ones just as good. For example; ‘hard headed women’, ‘miles from nowhere’, ‘ father and son’. Great artist, and a awesome story teller with his songs.

Feb 03 2026

Always great songs from Elton John. This album was great, it had a lot of hits. My favourite song was, “Bennie and the Jets”. But, you can listen to the whole album through and recognize most of the songs

Metallica by Metallica
Feb 10 2026

Great album; great band. This album was full of hits from; ‘enter sandman’, ‘nothing else matters’. And my favourite is, ‘the unforgiven’. Could listen to this all the way through and enjoy every second.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Feb 16 2026

My favourite Nirvana album. RIP Kurt Cobain. I think this album had the better hits from this band like, “smells like teen spirit”, “come as you are”. My favourite song of this album was, ’lithium’. There was also ‘in bloom’. Yeah can’t go wrong with any song really. The 90’s had so many good genres, and grunge rock is definitely up there at the top for me. It still blows my mind that Dave Grohl was a drummer before the foo fighters. Unfortunately, it took the tragedy of Kurt’s suicide for the Foo Fighters to exist.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Mar 06 2026

F@ck yes!! That is all.

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
Mar 10 2026

Oh yeah sultans of swing…great album

Behaviour by Pet Shop Boys
Mar 12 2026

Not terrible, very heavily synthesized and 80’s. I know it came out in the 90’s; they were still holding on.

Mar 16 2026

Good album, well written musically. For a newer band, they have some good sound reminiscent of the Ramones, Bad Brains, etc.

White Ladder by David Gray
Apr 16 2026

Really enjoyed this album front to back. Easy listening. You can hear some of influences in his music. At least I hear some Tom Petty, Tom Cochrane, etc..
