1001 Albums Summary

Loud and bombastic, this album doesn't hold back. Firestarter is obviously the stand out song, an absolute classic

Even though the album isn't in my usual genre, it felt like I was coming home to join in making music with some great (and talented) friends. Super inviting, just silly enough, and over all wonderful

While there are some gems amongst the rough, the majority of the album is filled with relatively forgettable songs.

Nondescript Beatles cover

A massive album full of wonderful music. However the length also means you'll quickly forget some of the less memorable songs

Some of the Beatles best work, drawing you in with a ton of fun before landing you with masterpiece after masterpiece

Incredibly short, at only 27 mins. Sort of just some generic older country music, although you can more clearly hear the ties to Irish trad and classic rock in a few songs. It's ok

Decent stuff. Fairly generic at times and a few covers rather than originals does drop the rating a bit

Probably the most interesting album I've listened to yet. It's a bit all over the place, with some bits sounding like The Who from the early 70s and other bits sounding like they'd fit in with 90s music (album came out in 78). Overall quite fun

A fun punk rock album

Clearly were a really great foundation for other artists to build from, but to the modern ear there's nothing that unique

Abba are strange in that they're interesting and incredibly uninteresting at the same time.

Country rock that doesn't do all that much else.

A rather enjoyable album

If you took all the songs in this album and smashed them together you'd probably get a very good song. As it stands the interesting aspects of each song don't really hold themselves up on their own. Mixed with a painfully generic vocalist who doesn't really inspire that much and you've got an album that can be added to the pile of generic pop.
