The album is a total vibe, however I’m only one song in and it feels like it’s dragging. The second song feels so refreshing after listening to the first song, most likely the best song out of the four. The album is interesting for the time, but not really interesting in today’s standards. The third song is also really good, but it also has the problem of being 10 minutes long. The fourth and last song has a few interesting moments, but is overall boring.
Overture - Despite the long intro, I was vibing to it. I know it’s a long song, but it’s changing it’s sound often enough that it’s not overly boring
A Passage to Bangkok - I like the guitar, but it lowkey sounds like any other rock song.
The Twilight Zone - This one is slower and I vibe with that. Definitely like this one more than the last one. It’s calmer which is very nice.
Lessons - Also sounds nice, but also sounds like a basic rock song.
Tears - I’m really liking the slow songs, this ballad thing sounds amazing to me for some reason.
Something for Nothing - Nice closer of a song, vibing along to it. I feel like i like the 20 minute song stole the show and is most likely the best song though.
This is more my kind of music. It’s nice and short, and the sings change enough that it doesn’t get boring. Another great part about it is that none of the songs are over 10 minutes, there doesn’t seem to be some deeper meaning to the album as a whole, I can enjoy it for what it is.
I can’t tell if I’m biased against the Beatles or if this album is extremely mid. I can say that there are some really good songs on the album, but I know that there are better albums that they made. Another thing is that some of the songs don’t even sound like the Beatles, like What Goes On, but then there are total classics like Nowhere Man. I’m torn on saying this album is good and saying it’s bad.
This album is really fun and cute, it sounds like something I can put on and have it be some nice background noise. Despite the fact that this album is really old, I can see myself genuinely listening to this album in my spare time. Also, Wooden Ships said 6 or 7.
This is like Herbie Hancock but better. What made Head Hunters weak was that the songs got boring fast, but this is keeping my attention throughout. The first song just grabs attention and holds onto it. I know that I need to listen to more jazz fusion, and this album is such a good introduction to this genre. Each song has its own sound and each sound tickles my brain in a good way.
Weird intro song, no idea what this album is supposed to sound like from it. I don’t get this intro, it’s almost twelve minutes long and it’s filler? What kind of intro is that? The second song is good, much better than the intro, but is then followed yo by another song that is just filler again. I like the second song, but these stupidly long songs are going to be the end of me. I like some of the songs, it’s just everything else that lowers the album for me. I’d give it a one, but, unfortunately, I really liked one song.
I can say that this album is good, but it’s not really my vibe. The sounds quality on this album isn’t great, I know it’s old, but there are older albums with better sound. I feel like I might have overhyped the album in my mind so I was disappointed when listening to it. None of the songs get exciting and I don’t I’d ever go listening to the album again.
The first song started interesting, then got boring, then got interesting again and that set the mood for the whole album. I liked how the first part of the album is lowkey slower and then vibe of the songs change in disk 2 as it goes to something more exciting. I’m honestly just glad to get out of the 70s with these albums. I can’t entirely put how I feel about this album, there are parts that I dislike but never hate and then there are parts I like, but never love.
I can see why this album has a deluxe and super deluxe version of it. This album is just all of the vibes shoved into an album thats honestly too short. I actually knew more songs on this album than I thought I knew, but I never listened to the entire album and I’m disappointed in myself for that. I also can’t put into words how good this album is, all I can say is that the vibes are immaculate when listening to this album.
Wow, this album is short. The songs sound good on this album except all the songs sound lowkey the same, so it’s like I like the songs but it sounds like I’m listening to 35 minutes of one song instead of 14 different songs. I like the songs on this album, they sound good and I might listen to them later, but I can’t name one that I liked more than the others because none of the songs really stuck out. So, all in all, good album, but could be more interesting.
This album sounds nice, I like Bitter Sweet Symphony despite the fact that it’s overplayed. However, this album had the same problem that The Clash had which was every song sounds basically the same. I was also fighting the final boss of KH1 while listening to this so I might not have been paying attention, idk. Also, what happened to the end? There is just pure silence.
I like the vibes of this album, except the songs feel too short. I really liked Summer is Over as the final song on the album, but this type of music isn’t really my thing. I can recognize that these are great songs and that she is a great singer, it’s just not my kind of music.
Why does beginning of the first song remind me of Animal Crossing New Horizons? Anyway, this album sounds like they’re trying to be unique with the their music, but it just ends up sounding weird. The type of music changes with every song and I din’t entirely know what I’m listening to. However, this album doesn’t entirely sound bad, so I’m not giving it a super low rating for that. It’s certainly better than Faust IV.
Man, I love the Beach Boys. This album starts off with an absolute club banger, except every song after fell off lowkey. They were still good, just not as good as the first song. Overall, though this album is just some good vibes to put on.
This album is weird, it’s giving me a trauma response from Faust IV. This album gets funky with it and then doesn’t go anywhere after that initial beat hits, it just keeps repeating. The album was short, but I was wishing that I could be listening to something else while I was listening to this album.
This album is just good vibes, the first song of the album was actually giving road trip energy and I can’t even explain why. Other than one song with a questionable name and word choice, the album is just a vibe to listen to. I didn’t hate any of the songs when listening to it and I enjoyed more songs than I thought I would. I’m very happy to finally listen to something relatively modern.
I don’t know what I expected Velvet Underground to sound like, but this wasn’t it. This album just sounds weird, I can’t vibe with this at all because all the songs just have something weird in its instrumentation or sound and I can’t find myself to like it. I’m listening to the gosh darn 45th anniversary version of this album and it still sounds awful. I can’t enjoy a single song on this album so it deserves a 1.
This album is high energy and I love it. I know that I’ve fallen behind in these albums, but this album is totally baller, it’s not boring and the songs have enough variation between them that it’s enjoyable throughout the whole album. This is a good album to have as the first 80s album. The reason this album gets a 4 instead of a 5 is because none of the songs really hit me and made me think that it was really good.
This is like Head Hunters all over again. The album’s a vibe, it just drags on. If the songs were shorter and there were more of them, I would totally give this album a 5, it’s just the length of the songs cause the score to go down even though I really like jazz songs. 18 minutes for the last song is wild though.
Is it wrong for me to say I don’t really vibe with this music because it’s not in english? The music is groovy and fun to listen to, but I feel like I could enjoy it more if I knew what he was singing. Forget the last statement, Taj Mahal is the best song on the album hands down, I was going to give it a 3, but this song makes it a 4.
This album is fun and nice to listen to, but nothing really struck out on it. The album just sounded like background noise and I couldn’t focus on it despite doing nothing at the time. I liked it, I just didn’t vibe with it entirely.
This album is just some good vibes, really nice to put on when I’m doing something and I don’t really need to focus on the music. Very nice, no other notes.
They weren’t kidding when they named this album Rock Bottom. This is just doing nothing and it sounds like a bunch of toddlers at random instruments. I genuinely wanted this album to end so badly, it felt like torture to listen to it in one sitting. I wish that album was shorter, every time something my relatively good plays, something else kicks in and immediately ruins the song. And the lyrics and singing were just awful. I could go on more, but I feel like everyone has similar thoughts. I can’t understand anyone that likes this album.
I’m disappointed by this album. I can’t really recall why I feel like it’s a bad album, all I know is that I don’t like it. I like Pump It Up, but that’s about it for the album.
This album is a combination of everything I dislike on songs, specifically the talking. However, the lyrics are deep and a bit thought provoking and when the choir like parts start playing it tickles my brain just right. Being told the story of this album and how it’s different the any other album by him because of a tragedy makes this album stand out more to me. But this album is definitely not one I’m listening to again.
Shockingly high energy compared to the last Nick Cave album. I believe that this album is better than the last, but it still didn’t appeal to me as an album. I personally think the album is too long and that made listening to it feel more like a task than some music.
I’m starting to think I like David Bowie. This album is a blast to listen to and I can’t even think of a reason to give this album anything other than a 5. Short review here, but I got nothing else to say other than ‘good album’.
