Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers

Great album. Love it. No complaints.

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes
Jan 16 2026

An interesting listen. Still trying to decide what I mean by interesting. It is unlike anything I have ever heard before but I don’t think I’m unhappy I haven’t heard anything like it before. A lot of tracks seem like they would sound good once fully realised, but it sounds like a record of demos. Favourite track- Good Feeling

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jan 19 2026

Really interesting album. The first few tracks weren’t quite for me but enjoyed the instrumentation (flute especially). By the second half was properly enjoying it. Really strong beats definitely helped. Overall a solid album even for someone not rap inclined. Favourite track- Thin Line

Odelay by Beck
Jan 20 2026

If an identity crisis was an album, this would be the album. It goes through a lot of genres- some almost rap, some leaning into indie, a proper folk song and some bogstandard rock. Normally, I would cite something like this as groundbreaking. In this case, it is not. Enjoyed a few tracks but overall confusing and not consistent. Favourite track- Ramshackle

Metallica by Metallica
Jan 21 2026

Amazing album. Really good lyrics with meaning behind them and very melodic for metal. Definitely exceeded my expectations and was a very enjoyable listening experience. Favourite track- The Unforgiven

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Jan 22 2026

Very melodical with nice instrumentation and good lyrics. Quite chilled and relaxing. Really enjoyed it and would listen again. Favourite track-Are you a hypnotist?

Face to Face by The Kinks
Jan 23 2026

Classic 60s album. Always very upbeat and positive throughout so enjoyed for that reason but also incredibly dated and doesn’t really stand up next to some other albums. Would rate 2.5 but go with a 3 for nostalgia.

The Next Day by David Bowie
Jan 26 2026

Incredible album. Bowie’s first in 10 or so years and a real return to form when it was released. Love the mix of jazz instruments with the very Bowie sounding rock. Innovative but still has his distinct sound.

The Velvet Underground & Nico by The Velvet Underground
Jan 27 2026

Interesting listen. Agree with the description of the album as a basis for art rock because it is a great starting point and very innovative, but as an actual listening experience didn’t blow me away. Favourite track- Heroin

Live At The Star Club, Hamburg by Jerry Lee Lewis
Jan 28 2026

Everything you want from a live album- enthusiastic band, great crowd and bit of improvisation. However, every song was quite similar and he was married to his 13 year old cousin.

Forever Changes by Love
Jan 29 2026

Enjoyable listen. Liked the influence of the folk sound with the classic 60s rock pop style. Similar happy songwriting style to a lot of the great 60s albums and generally nice to listen to.

Jan 30 2026

Everything you want from an album. Bit of an experimental feel but still slots in with the norm to make a great listen. Doesn’t get a lot better. Favourite track- Man on the Moon

Parallel Lines by Blondie
Feb 02 2026

A classic 80s rock album. Very enjoyable listen but definitely a bit dated. Very good singer.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Feb 03 2026

Really good album. Not what I expected at all, very melodical and explored some different styles throughout. Incredibly consistent as well. Would listen again. Favourite track- The Prisoner

Playing With Fire by Spacemen 3
Feb 04 2026

Didn’t mind a few tracks but majority seemed quite similar. Enjoyed the instrumentation as the use of electric guitar in this kind of electronica stuff is new to me and sounded good, but overall just didn’t amaze me.

Feb 05 2026

Another classic 80s sounding album. Really enjoyed the instrumentation and it was used incredibly well in the instrumental track. Overall, a really solid album.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Feb 06 2026

Quite experimental but a good album and listen. Enjoyed the instrumentation and the general vibe was solid.

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Feb 09 2026

Alright is the main word that comes to mind. The mix of electronica and sort of alt-rock was interesting, and there were a few strong tracks but not incredibly consistent.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Feb 10 2026

Solid album. Liked the jazz and blues influences and really liked the harmonica on Track 2. Can see why it’s so influential, but didn’t blow me away personally.

Being There by Wilco
Feb 11 2026

If meh was an album, this would be the album. After listening to the other albums, I’ve normally finished and had an immediate opinion, however this time it was just ‘ok, that happened’. Not rubbish, good instrumentation, but very same-y and not particularly innovative.

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Feb 12 2026

Brilliant album ruined by track 4. Very hard to get instrumental tracks this long to be good and interesting but tracks 1 and 2 were pretty amazing. Really enjoyed the feel of the album, but tracks 4 was a departure from that and really tarnished it for me.

Let Love Rule by Lenny Kravitz
Feb 13 2026

Interesting album. Lots of variation in tracks, both in genre and instrumentation. Enjoyed the saxophone usage. Slightly odd but overall a solid album.

Feb 16 2026

Solid album. Very unique sound which I quite enjoyed. Could be said to be slightly repetitive. Enjoyed the instrumentation and the unique voice.

Purple Rain by Prince
Feb 17 2026

Incredible. Reminded me a lot of Bowie’s ‘Young Americans’ but with a 80s twist. Loved the instrumentation, synth used very well and the guitar solos were simply epic. Not a bad track and every track had its own different sub-style.

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Feb 18 2026

Interesting for the first few tracks but was kind of over it by Track 3. Got better in the second half again but was kind of samey.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Feb 19 2026

No. The drums and guitar don’t sound like they’re playing the same song, with no subtlety in the drumming at all. Only good part is the use of the xylophone

Mothership Connection by Parliament
Feb 20 2026

Interesting listen. Really enjoyed the melody and instrumentation, great feel to it. However, the lyrics kind of let it down with a lot of repetition and not a lot of depth. Classic 70s though and very solid

Green by R.E.M.
Feb 23 2026

Pretty much flawless. Definitely 80s but doesn’t sound dated at all. Great feel to it.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Feb 24 2026

Alright backing tracks but the vocals were just either bad or weird. Overall pretty mid.

Feb 25 2026

Really good. Love the instrumentation, especially the brass on track 1. Really innovative with some great improvised stuff as well. The blending of a 60s rock sound and jazz sounds great.

Dog Man Star by Suede
Feb 26 2026

Really enjoyable listen. Enjoyed the kind of more nuanced version of Britpop and every song had its own distinct vibe within that.

A Date With The Everly Brothers by The Everly Brothers
Feb 27 2026

Classic 60s stuff. Liked the feel the album had, very easy listening. The vocals are great. However, every song did sound pretty much the same.

Highway to Hell by AC/DC
Mar 02 2026

Really solid classic rock album. Loved the blues influences on the drumming and guitar work on a couple tracks. Can see why its influential.

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Mar 03 2026

Very solid 80s pop rock. First side of the album is back to back tunes but it’s very frontloaded. B side still decent but not consistent in the very high standard set by A. Still enjoyed it.

Goo by Sonic Youth
Mar 04 2026

Solid alt rock album. Would says it’s quite weird but they make it work. Liked the two singers- each seemed to come with a different style of song. Very enjoyable listen.

Illmatic by Nas
Mar 05 2026

Got better as it went along. First track (proper track not track 1) didn’t click with me but gradually started to enjoy it. Good beats throughout.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 06 2026

Really good album. Enjoyed start to finish. Great feel to it.

Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Mar 09 2026

Pretty bang average. Not a bad song just no that particularly stood out. Sounds like the transition between the 60s and 70s.

With The Beatles by Beatles
Mar 10 2026

The best of the 60s but still can’t really stand up to anything after. As always with 60s albums, it was very fun and a nice listen but pretty much every song was the same. The Beatles are incredibly influential and have a lot of good tracks, but album consistency not up there.

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Mar 11 2026

Nice enough but nothing particularly special or different. Enjoyed it but probably wouldn’t go back urgently.

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Mar 12 2026

Really good. Loved the sound- very unique. Bowie influence shined through- was interesting to hear China Girl this way. Overall very enjoyable and different.

Suede by Suede
Mar 13 2026

Another solid album from Suede. Every song had its own different sound and all were enjoyable. Enjoyed their different britpop sound, very good album.

Blood On The Tracks by Bob Dylan
Mar 16 2026

First experience of Dylan, enjoyed it. Great storytelling and really liked the instrumentation, especially the use of the bass in some of the tracks.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Mar 17 2026

Interesting. Was sceptical at first but it grew on me. The songs were too long for me however, and there wasn’t a lot of difference between them.

Heartbreaker by Ryan Adams
Mar 18 2026

Great folk music has to have a narrative inside the album- leave you feeling something at the end. This didn’t really. It didn’t seem too cohesive as an album, and every track sounded pretty similar. Adams obviously wants to be Springsteen, but clearly isn’t.

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Mar 19 2026

Alright. Didn’t really buy into the many 8 minute songs- felt a bit too long. Not as good as the black album in my opinion, just overall quality wise.

American Gothic by David Ackles
Mar 20 2026

Interesting. Enjoyed the majority of it but in the middle just went super religious and threw me off. Liked the instrumentation, reminded me of some ‘Born to Run’ Springsteen songs if they never kicked off. Overall, decent but not great.

Play by Moby
Mar 23 2026

Solid album. Enjoyed the beats throughout and liked the uniqueness. Slightly long but overall enjoyed it.

London Calling by The Clash
Mar 24 2026

Really good. Opened by a classic track and continues in that grain. Liked the different sub styles towards the end and the instrumentation was top class. Very good album, maybe slightly too long.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Mar 25 2026

Enjoyable listen. Thought the instrumentation was top class- piano was played really well and the drum beats matched the feel of the songs well. However, a lot of the tracks were quite similar and I think the strong start lost momentum with a lot of quieter tracks. Still solid and a nice album to listen to, but nothing special.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Mar 26 2026

This album feels like a culmination of all good British music up to that point. Not a bad track on it and the instrumentation is incredible. Can’t fault it.

Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin
Mar 27 2026

Very good album. First experience of Zeppelin and really enjoyed it, especially Bonham’s drumming. Proper classic rock. However, not too consistent.

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Mar 30 2026

Fun album. Obviously had the anthem of Take Me Out but also a lot of good and interesting stuff. Enjoyed the mix of genres in a lot of tracks. However, shame it’s not consistent and nothing meets the high of track 3.

Apr 01 2026

Started out strongly, but A side a lot better than B. Really liked the bass playing and thought it added a lot. Drumming solid but basic. Rhythm was good. Generally solid but not consistent

Make Yourself by Incubus
Apr 02 2026

This sounds like beige. There is nothing new or original I could find about this album. It might be the most safe and boring music I have ever heard. Except for a slight change in the start of Track 6 ‘Stellar’, every song sounded pretty much the same.

Wild Wood by Paul Weller
Apr 03 2026

Great. Album flows really well and features some really skillfull playing, especially guitar. Both the quieter and more stripped back and fuller songs fit well, and the mix of genres and genres that have influenced all go together to create some great music.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Apr 06 2026

Really enjoyed it. Instrumentation is very interesting and musicians obviously very talented. A few tracks reminded me a lot of post-2000s Bowie but a bit quieter. Would definitely listen to it again.

Revolver by Beatles
Apr 07 2026

Solid. Beatles had definitely evolved by this point. Had a few tracks beyond the ones I recognised that I really enjoyed. Of course, sounds quite dated now but still a good listen.

Homework by Daft Punk
Apr 08 2026

First time listening to this genre and didn’t mind it. Can see the appeal, but not really the right stuff to listen to during daily life for me. Liked the instrumental tracks more than the ones with the sampled vocals. Overall, decent, just not really my cup of tea.

Ray Of Light by Madonna
Apr 09 2026

Enjoyed it. Liked the blend of pop and electro stuff. However, slightly too long for me and a lot of similar stuff.

Only By The Night by Kings of Leon
Apr 10 2026

Not a bad track. Love the drumming. Can’t fault it- has its own sound and definitely original, great album.

Violator by Depeche Mode
Apr 13 2026

Amazing. This is electro music done right. Of course has the two singles which are great, but a lot of great and interesting stuff in between. A really together album.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Apr 14 2026

Great album. Had heard Californication and Scar Tissue, which are great, but really enjoyed it as a complete thing. The instrumentation is top class. Amazing bass playing and drumming is great. Overall, really enjoyed listening to it.

All Directions by The Temptations
Apr 15 2026

This album feels like someone doing a parody of 70s music. It’s ok, but very basic. Track 2 is weird.

Apr 16 2026

Really liked City, Country, City but found the rest of the album slightly uninspired. Good base to it but just not quite right somehow.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Apr 17 2026

Enjoyed it. Nice sound, different to the music that was being released alongside it. Really liked the vocals and the laid back feel. Very enjoyable listen. However, didn’t flow too well for me.

Rage Against The Machine by Rage Against The Machine
Apr 20 2026

Just shouty. To me, lacks melody and any real difference between the tracks. I get the idea of a protest album but I’m not a fan of 50 minutes of complaining.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Apr 21 2026

Fun album. Liked the vibe, very easy to listen to. Instrumentation good and voice different but interesting.

1984 by Van Halen
Apr 22 2026

Short and sweet. Proper classic rock, love all the synth. Not too much differentiation between tracks, but still a very good listen.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Apr 23 2026

Solid album. Loud, but not overbearing. Again really enjoyed having the two contrasting vocals on different tracks. Just a really solid rock album, no complaints.

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Apr 24 2026

Interesting. Quite liked the music but unsure of the vocals. Obviously very emotional as an album but didn’t quite land with me. Produced very well.

good kid, m.A.A.d city by Kendrick Lamar
Apr 27 2026

Not my thing but found it relatively easy listening. Good storytelling and nice drumming.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Apr 28 2026

Happy album. Very easy to listen to but not particularly special. Enjoyed it and no real bad tracks, just nothing that wowed me.

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Apr 29 2026

Tried to find something I enjoyed about this album but couldn’t. Didn’t mind the beats but overall just quite annoying.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Apr 30 2026

Great. Really enjoyed it, loved the instrumentation. What a voice!

Pink Flag by Wire
May 01 2026

Alright. Pretty classic 70s. Nothing particularly bad but nothing amazing or innovative. Enjoyed it.

Doolittle by Pixies
May 04 2026

Alright. Seemed like it should have been from the early 70s not the late 80s. Quite liked it but don’t think there was a lot of variation or depth in it.

The Bends by Radiohead
May 05 2026

Incredible as always. Always forget how good it is before listening again. Love the changes in dynamics throughout the album and instrumentation.

Nixon by Lambchop
May 07 2026

Very good. Love the instrumentation and think he has a very interesting voice. Very easy to listen to whilst not being boring.

Abbey Road by Beatles
May 08 2026

Appreciated the Beatles before listening to this but now have a greater appreciation. Not a bad track and a lot of experimentation with the classic 60s sound. Very good.

Ready To Die by The Notorious B.I.G.
May 11 2026

Just a bit dull. Couldn’t enjoy it despite trying.

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
May 12 2026

Really good. Interesting voice, great drumming and solid guitar. Overall enjoyable and would listen again.

Suicide by Suicide
May 13 2026

Pretty uninspired. Nothing that bad just bit dull and repetitive.

Brutal Youth by Elvis Costello
May 14 2026

Seems like another wannabe Dylan and Springsteen, which is a very high bar to try and meet. Nothing offensive in this but nothing extraordinary either. Pretty solid but far from great.

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
May 15 2026

Didn’t go in with high expectations but actually really good. Liked the feel of the album and overall very interesting to listen to.

Live At Leeds by The Who
May 18 2026

Bit repetitive but good showmanship. Enjoyed it but wouldn’t be running back.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
May 19 2026

Really good. Just classic rock done to the highest degree. Bit samey but still great.

At San Quentin by Johnny Cash
May 20 2026

Really enjoyed it. Proper showman and great storytelling. His interactions with the crowd are great. Everything you want out of a live album.

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
May 21 2026

Enjoyed it. Pretty average but one of those that there’s nothing really to dislike but it doesn’t blow you away. Solid work, but nothing more than that really.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
May 22 2026

Alright, however would believe you if you told me it was just one track. Seemed like it dragged on for a bit too long but the music itself is alright.

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
May 25 2026

Classic. Inventive whilst also being really easy listening. No complaints, love the instrumentation.

All Things Must Pass by George Harrison
May 26 2026

Really good. First half is a masterpiece, cant fault it. Second half has a few dodgy tracks which takes the shine off a little. The guitar work is incredible and general feel really good.

May 28 2026

Great. Really enjoyed it. Inventive, great guitar playing and Morrisey’s distinctive voice fit really well. Not a bad track.

Pacific Ocean Blue by Dennis Wilson
May 29 2026

Great album, lovely feel to it and great instrumentation. Really enjoyed it

Elephant by The White Stripes
Jun 01 2026
Blackstar by David Bowie
Jun 02 2026

Incredible. The way Bowie made this record by using NY jazz musicians makes it so incredibly unique. Whilst I think that a lot of the praise for this record comes because of the circumstances around its release (Bowie’s death), that doesn’t take away from it being a masterpiece in songwriting.

Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits
Jun 04 2026

Classic. Some of the best guitar playing. Nice array of different sounds and feels in the tracks, ending on the best one in my opinion in the title track.

16 Lovers Lane by The Go-Betweens
Jun 05 2026

Not bad but nothing exceptional. Enjoyed it, very easy to listen to.

Melodrama by Lorde
Jun 08 2026

Good stuff. Opening track is a banger. Lyricism is very good and it’s musically interesting. Sometimes could be considered a bit samey, would have liked a bit more variation around the feel, but still very good.

Urban Hymns by The Verve
Jun 09 2026

Solid. No complaints. Quality britpop.

Jun 10 2026

Unlike anything I’ve heard. Flowed really well, really cool instrumentation. Understand why it’s so highly rated- lived up to the hype!

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Jun 12 2026

Nothing special. Generally ok, harmless but not very original. Best song is a cover.

2112 by Rush
Jun 15 2026

Really enjoyed it. Somehow managed to make a 20 minute song good!

Deep Purple In Rock by Deep Purple
Jun 16 2026

Nice. Fun feel to it. Very classic rock. Enjoyed it.

90 by 808 State
Jun 17 2026

Nice album. Not my kind of stuff but still enjoyed it. Not repetitive and enjoyable.

Everything Must Go by Manic Street Preachers
Jun 18 2026

Great album. Love it. No complaints.
