Absolutely not my style. Was difficult to listen to.
Perhaps one of my favourite albums, there's not many weak points. Absolute bangers from start to finish!
My entry point into Metallica. Brilliant album, these songs are constantly on my playlists π
It's alright. The one song everyone knows is good, it has a decent vibe even though it's a bit too weird in parts.
A solid early album from one of my favourite bands. More pop focused than their mid career catalogue, not my favourite but pretty decent.
Classic Sinatra. Consistent all the way through, man's got a vibe. Was a very enjoyable car ride listening to it!
I've never been a massive Hendrix fan. This didn't do it for me. It feels like a product of its time TBH. Bit disappointed.
I can absolutely say with 100% certainty I hated this to the point of irritation. Absolutely could have died without hearing this.
I was surprised by this, it's very different to what I imagined the Beach Boys to sound in my head. I quite liked it.
Was ok. The one song I liked but the others didn't grab me.
I get why this album is important, but coming into this for the first time now means it's lost it's magic USP. I can definitely hear where modern female rockstars got their influences from though!
Meh. I'm sure it was great when it came out but it didn't grab me then and it's doesn't now either.
Oh bloody hell yes! What an awesome album! Love it from start to finish. Any day with the Beatles is a good day.
It was ok. Didn't really blow me away but I'm not a massive fan of this band.
This is one of my favourite albums! A brilliant rock album from a troubled band. Some amazing songs on here!
It was ok I guess? Not their best album, not a style of music I dig really either.
Pleasant folk music. I can see why Bob Dylan liked him.
Again, it's alright I guess? Not my kind of music
It was decent but not my kind of music
Short. Sweet. High energy. Solid punk. Loved it.
Background Yacht Rock. I felt like I was in a shop or an elevator. Boring AF.
This is bloody good. Loved it. Proper rock music.
He sounds like Seal! Happy music, I liked it!
Oh yes. One of my favourite albums. Not their best one but it's soo good. Every song is worth a listen here.
Nope. Can't stand her.
I dig it. A bit too Avant Garde but fun.
Too mellow for me.
Hmm. Bit disappointing from a band I like.
Cheap eurotrash electronic music that sounds like a teenager got his first synthesiser. Really difficult to listen to. The music is jarring like nails on a chalkboard and the lyrics nonsensical. I couldn't connect with this in any way.
Oh thank god for that. I was about to give up on this project so I needed this.
Such an amazing album. There's no bad songs. Money for nothing is such a jam, walk of life loads of fun, and the haunting melancholy of the title track is such an amazing way to close the album!
Pretty decent album, I can see where britpop got its roots from (especially Oasis). Well worthy of the list.
It's a great album, the title track being one of my all time favourites!
Okayish 60s pop rock.
Elevator music. Not my taste.
Aww fuck yeah. Perfect for a Friday. The beats slap, it's chonky hip hop goodness.
Just amazing. A brilliant band at their peak. Always a treat to listen to.
Jesus Christ on a bike no. I almost fell asleep listening to this.
Aww this is an amazing album, I absolutely love it and how much fun it is to listen to!
Love this album. Classic 80s synth pop. My staple. Timeless and beautiful.
Aww yeah. It's not Mellon Collie but it's so good!
It's very staple soul and funk. Nothing special.
Considering their first few albums are a party, this feels like a hangover. Probably why when I was younger they weren't on the radio much.
Great album, a couple of absolute bangers and the flow is perfect.
Jesus Christ this was bad. Just boring as fuck.
Pleasant. Better than I thought it would be.
My dad has this one. I love Cars. Never understood why he's looking suspiciously at that glowing rer pyramid though.
Dark moody synths. Where's your head at? Very gothic π
Seems ahead of its time but as I'm new to this I can't appreciate it as much as I would have back when it was released. But I was too small in 1986 to appreciate this anyway.
Oh yes. Love this artist π
Great mix of soul tunes, love this β€οΈ
It was interesting. Not spectacular, I prefer their earlier stuff. Struggling to see why I needed to hear this before I died?
Oh a nice change. Love this kind of music!
Phenomenal album. Great songs from start to finish. I love the rawness of his characters and the heartfelt lyrics. The production values are insane too.
Wow what a debut album. I can't imagine how mind blowing this must have been in 1964!
Sounds like the parody chanel 9 songs off The Fast Show. Not my vibe, couldn't get into it.
I was half expecting her to sing "KREEEEES.... WADDDUL!"
I mean come on? Ubiquitous or what? Any day with CCR is a good day π
Lovely gothic moody alternative electronic music. Fantasticπ
Fantastic. I just love this album so much. It's such a brilliant mix of styles and some amazing songs.
I can't think of many better debut albums than this. Absolutely exploded when it came out, and still so fresh today. I've got many good memories walking to these tunes on my iPod. Phenomenal and raw and brilliant.
It's very pleasant. I can see the roots of many other artists and styles in this. I prefer my Rock and Roll more upbeat though.
Iron Maiden on a Friday? Yes. Fucking. Please.
Great album, love the long buildups and guitar payoffs
This is some good old fashioned country music. Great storytelling, lovely melodies. I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would!
It was ok. Didn't really catch me.
Oh no. This isn't my kind of music at all. I still don't like her because the Fugees took the number one spot from Three Lions back in the day.
A real slog this one, not helped by heavy weather outside today.
Oh, they sound just like Ash. Not sure if that's a compliment yet, I liked Ash back in the day but I find them a bit whiny now.
I didn't dig this. Too noisy for my taste.
Sounds a bit old school even if the message is still relevant. Lots of anger dressed up in some good rhythm. Good to walk to.
What a great coincidence! I love this album and I'm going to see Moby in a couple of weeks! Its been a while since I played this.
There's a lot of really good songs on here. It does tail off at the end though.
It was ok. A bit boring, nothing really stood out.
Interesting album. I knew very little of it outside the first few bars. It's a proper prog rock symphony, it's full of interesting details. The songs don't feel long at all.
Oh boy. My first concert. One of my first CDs. I used to absolutely love this. I don't feel like it's aged well though, he sounds a bit whiny especially compared to modern Irish rockstars. Heck of an opener and some great songs though. The remaster is amazing and adds so much depth to the songs that the loudness war original mix loses.
It's not my favourite kind of music, I did like the cheerfully gothic songs though. A couple of highlights, some boring songs though. I can appreciate it I guess.
Something different! I liked this as background music. It dragged on a bit at the end but it was technically very good.
I don't, apparently. This was too moody and slow for me.
Knowing the context behind it, it feels like he made his own funeral procession.
Oh yes! Maybe I'm amazed how good he is as a songwriter and a musician. Timeless. Fantastic. Perfect for getting over a hump day!
Hmm. Considering the niche level of this album, I'm surprised it's on this list. It's good but I can't listen to a whole album of it.
Oh boy. Here we go...
Odd. Organised noise. I'm too sober for this weirdness.
It was ok. Slow. Bland. Good for a Monday morning.
I liked this. Easy going. Not the most knowledgeable Neil Young fan. Glad to hear Powderfinger, I love that band and I have always wanted to hear the song that gave them their name.
Aww a party album the day before a music festivalπ
These guys are wild, saw them a year ago, haven't been the same since.
I love the camp sound, a bit Elton John, a bit George Michael in parts. And their version of Comfortably Numb is really good.
It was ok, not a massive Elvis Costello fan, it was palatable but no real highlights.
I wish I was cool enough when this was released to appreciate this. It's such a good album, I've grown more and more fond of it over the years. I feel like Pulp were underappreciated despite their popularity, and that they flew under the radar because of when this came out.
Always a real pleasure listening to this π₯°
"Hey mum, can we buy the new INXS album?"
"No, we have that at home".
It's fine, I guess? Not her best, not bad or anything. Didn't feel it was worth being on a "listen before you die" kind of list.
Love me some Roxy Music. A wonderfully quirky album. It wouldn't be made today.
