Funeral by Arcade Fire

This is what I think is a textbook definition of indie rock. It is very cohesive album, especially that one song that transitioned into the other one sooooo beautifully. The songs in the beginning of the album sounded quite similar to one another, but once we got past the songs that are titled "Neighborhoods", the songs were more unique and interesting to listen to. However, I would not say that this album is boring. The dynamic instruments kept this album lively. I enjoyed listening to this album and I think I will listen to this again. My favorite song off the album is Wake Up, which tracks since it is one of the most popular songs of this album.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band

Pretty cool at first and then it reeeeealllllyyy dddrrrrragggedd onnnnn . And then suddenly there’s Christmas music and then is kept draaaaginggg onnnn gosh it just never ends UGH I was falling asleep and praying for this album to be over

Feb 26 2026

This album just sounds like every other The Smiths album. It’s lowkey giving immature and petty with some of the songs. I think it’s funny how some of the songs with the worst intentions are the ones with the most joyful and lighthearted tunes.

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Feb 27 2026

Great studying music. Minimum lyrics, maximum vibes. Keeps me very locked in and awake while working. Can I tell these songs apart? No. However, it is still enjoyable as it is like going to an improv/jam sesh where you don't really know what they are gonna do but it's still gonna be very fun and you get great music at the end of the day.

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Mar 01 2026

This album was so fun to listen to. It is loud and colorful and the music was GOOD. I enjoyed it so much and kept on bopping along while listening to it. This will be going on my mental list of albums to listen to when studying.

Kid A by Radiohead
Mar 02 2026

Extremely cohesive album, everything fits and flows together so well. Very futuristic sounding but it doesn't sound annoying. Another very colorful album that sounds very interesting and keeps you coming back for more.

Odelay by Beck
Mar 03 2026

I didn't really pay attention to this album much while listening to it. It is very futuristic and unique sounding which is really interesting and fresh at first. However, this album is almost an hour long and at some point I just feel like I am just listening to a bunch of video game sounds and become fatigued. Will definitely give this album another try and actually listen to it.

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Mar 04 2026

I wasn’t paying too much attention while listening to this album. The album feels homogeneous. It’s giving they are trying to rock out but it didn’t quite work. It is a cool concept tho if I was in the mood for more folky calm-ish stuff. Will definitely try this album again when the time is right.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Mar 05 2026

Such a fun album makes me wanna get up and dance. No understanding of lyrics needed, pure vibes.

Nevermind by Nirvana
Mar 06 2026

I enjoyed listening to this album very much. It has all the energy that I love to hear when I listen to music so it’s right up my alley. I didn’t really like the last song tho, it sounded kind of annoying and I just wanted it to end so bad but it kept on going, had to dock a point for that. Very fun very iconic album and songs.

This Is Fats Domino by Fats Domino
Mar 07 2026

Very upbeat, very energetic, a great breath of air from the kind of music we get in the year of 2026. Sucks that the album isn’t widely available on streaming. Cool new discovery!!

The Stranger by Billy Joel
Mar 08 2026

Enjoyed this album very much. The music feels so full and rich and it’s awesome songs. 10/10 would listen again. I do not like the album cover tho.

Winter In America by Gil Scott-Heron
Mar 09 2026

This album was just ok, nothing to call home about. I don’t love the singer’s voice, it feels very scratchy to my ears.

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Mar 10 2026

This is such a vibrant and upbeat album and I enjoyed it a lot. However, I think it did run a little too long and I was slightly tired of it near the end. Overall, it is still a very enjoyable album and it was a fun listen.

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Mar 11 2026

The singer's voice is so deep and so is the sounds of the music. I think it is cool but I feel like a whole album of songs that are so deep and gloomy was not it for me, not on a beautiful spring day like today. This is something that I will have to revisit on a cold and rainy winter day when I am in that mindset.

Shake Your Money Maker by The Black Crowes
Mar 12 2026

Eh it’s just ok, just another rock album. Nothing that really stood out to me. I did like the song “Seeing Things” but everything else falls flat

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Mar 13 2026

It was a pretty fun pop album! It sounded very 90’s. It put me in a very good mood when listening.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Mar 14 2026

Some of the lyrics and rhymes that crack me up. However, the beats feel repetitive throughout the entire album. A bit boring for me but oddly calming to listen to?

Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem
Mar 15 2026

Electronic music just isn’t really my jam. For most of the album, I feel like I was just listening to sounds instead of music. The title track makes my brain feel tingly which was kinda weird but an interesting feeling. I liked the last song, New York I Love You But You’re Bringing Me Down

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Mar 16 2026

He’s so British to the point where I didn’t even realize he was rapping in English until track 4.

Raw Power by The Stooges
Mar 17 2026

They’re making a ROCK ALBUM but is too scared to turn up the bass?? Anyways other than that it’s pretty typical rock and roll it’s ok.

GREY Area by Little Simz
Mar 18 2026

I love when women rap cuz it’s so raw and honest about their lives and social commentary, not rapping about doing unspeakable things to women.

Smash by The Offspring
Mar 20 2026

It’s a pretty typical dad rock album. Most of the songs sound the same to me.

On The Beach by Neil Young
Mar 21 2026

It is very nice at the beginning, very beach, but then it got really sad such a bummer. Crazy how we got this album during our beach trip

Odessa by Bee Gees
Mar 22 2026

Odd start and then album doesn’t feel cohesive. Great songs but it’s just all over the place.

Boston by Boston
Mar 23 2026

It was a great album. It is a compact and short album but each song brings a new sound to the experience. I really liked it and I saved it to my Apple Music!! Definitely will listen again

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Mar 24 2026

The album is ok for me. It dragged on for a bit and I got bored halfway through and everything started to sound the same. I did very much enjoy a women-fronted rock band tho

Safe As Milk by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Mar 25 2026

Idk man it reeeeeally dragged on and it is so all over the place. The songs are short so sometimes by the time I registered that it’s a new song and got the hang of it, the song ends and another song plays.

The Scream by Siouxsie And The Banshees
Mar 26 2026

I think this is cool it is a cohesive album and I love when women are rockstars but I just don’t think it’s my thing

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
Mar 27 2026

The album is pretty cool but I won’t say that it’s like a must listen before you die kinda cool. We jump through a couple of genres which is a bit confusing sometimes but sure. I quite like the last song

Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs by Derek & The Dominos
Mar 28 2026

It’s a very calming album and it is such a comfortable listen. Makes me wanna sit back and relax and cross my legs and put my arms behind my head. I feel like this will be a great beach music album.

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Mar 29 2026

I did not realize how loud my car speakers were when I first started playing this album and I hope people in the parking lot did not think I needed help. Anyways the lyrics are lowkey stupid and I did not enjoy listening to it

Mar 30 2026

Every time I listen to this album, I like it a bit more than the last time. It’s the album that keeps on giving.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Mar 31 2026

It’s ok. The songs all sound the same to me. Nothing special to note.

Apr 01 2026

I really like it, it has lots of varieties and I love the rock and roll of it. Very groovy very fun. It did run long and it overstayed its welcome

Apr 02 2026

I like it it is so fun I love in da club it’s so iconic and it makes me wanna just bounce up and down

New Forms by Roni Size
Apr 03 2026

Only made it through disc 1. It’s ok, I just don’t really like this genre. I really don’t like that one track Morse Code tho I think I am going insane

She's So Unusual by Cyndi Lauper
Apr 04 2026

I love the sounds of 80s pop. It’s so fun and unique and upbeat it makes me really happy

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Apr 05 2026

The album as a whole is very cohesive and must be enjoyed as a whole. This also means that songs kinda meld and sound the same to me unfortunately. The last two track stood out to me and I really liked them.

Skylarking by XTC
Apr 06 2026

Parts of it reminds me of the Beatles. It started off kinda eh but then it gets better. I like the tracks that sounded very orchestral I love it.

Apr 07 2026

Why are these just one album? It's two very different albums. Speakerboxx gets a 3 star. Very average hip hop/rap album. The Love Below gets a 4 star. Bangers after bangers but I'm docking one star for how misogynistic it is? Anyways it averages to 3.5 and I'll round it up to 4

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Apr 08 2026

Some of them are pretty cool sounding when it is rock-ified. Some of them are awful and its just sounds. I fear there are more bad ones than good ones.

Tommy by The Who
Apr 09 2026

Interesting idea for a musical, but it was so long and they don't sing a lot of the times and then my brain just tunes it out and I forget that I'm listening to it. Its ok.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Apr 10 2026

I quite liked the album. It’s really fun and enjoyable. Def will listen again

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Apr 11 2026

Lin Manuel Miranda listened to this album and then wrote Hamilton. This fact is not real but they sound like Hamilton. Anyways it’s really fun and silly little album

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Apr 12 2026

The first half of this album reminds me of a 2000s emo band and it’s just ok. Then it gets more rock and I started liking it more. The Black Sabbath cover is a great cover and I like it the most.

Drunk by Thundercat
Apr 13 2026

Started off strong and unique, but then kinda slipped into a coffee shop music kinda vibe. Each song started blending in together and the album was really long so I got a bit tired of it near the end. It’s still a pleasant listen tho I like r&b

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Apr 14 2026

Pretty chill album with very calming and relaxing songs. It is an enjoyable listen but kinda forgettable. All the songs blend in together and sounds the same after a while.

Headquarters by The Monkees
Apr 15 2026

This album was really fun and an unexpectedly enjoyable listen. It definitely sound very dated but I enjoy the sound of that. They are just a group of silly little guys coming together to make some music and sing some harmonies. Did this album change my life? No. But I don't think I've been this attentive while listening to the albums this much until this one.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Apr 16 2026

Feels like I’m in a movie or a video game. Don’t love it, but I don’t hate it as much as I thought I would. Makes me confused sometimes

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
Apr 17 2026

The vibe of the album was quite chill and initially I liked how it was nice and jazzy. However, every single song sounded the same so the entire album felt very monotone. The album was also so long I keep wishing it would end but it never ends!!!

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Apr 18 2026

Nice blues album great vibes but it again runs long. this coming after van morrison makes this album better. I don't think it will be something I seek out tho but I do enjoy this album.

Ananda Shankar by Ananda Shankar
Apr 19 2026

It was an interesting way to blend Indian classical music with western sounds. I was intrigued and entertained the entire time. Not something that I would go back and seek out to listen to again but I do think that this is an album that is worth listening to.

Imagine by John Lennon
Apr 20 2026

I know nothing about this man other than his membership with the Beatles, his death, and his music production bus that gave us fergie. This album has great hits that are popular for a good reason and catchy melodies that gets stuck in your head. If not for this album, we would not have gems such as Millie Bobby brown’s rendition or the celebrity covid lockdown’s rendition of imagine, both of them I revisited while listening to this album.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Apr 21 2026

It was a pretty fun album! Lots of diverse sounds and are all very lively and captivating.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Apr 22 2026

Pretty cool at first and then it reeeeealllllyyy dddrrrrragggedd onnnnn . And then suddenly there’s Christmas music and then is kept draaaaginggg onnnn gosh it just never ends UGH I was falling asleep and praying for this album to be over

Repeater by Fugazi
Apr 24 2026

Most of the album sounded the same to me. At the beginning, I was wondering how many minutes the first song was because it was so long, but then I realized I was actually on the third song?? Anyways among all the very similar sounding songs, Merchandise and Shut the Door got my attention. Merchandise sounds the most different from everything else and Shut the Door had an awesome base line but I'm not a fan of the lyrics. Actually, I don't really know if I like any of the lyrics in the entire album but who am I to comment on lyrics when I'm a vibe listener.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Apr 25 2026

It’s a good rock album but I feel like it’s not like ooh this is the best thing I’ve ever heard. I also made a 10 minute drive and parked within the time it takes to play stairway to heaven

Country Life by Roxy Music
Apr 26 2026

I really enjoyed this album, it has very diverse sounds and keeps me intrigued about what’s next. Sometimes I picture jack skellington singing because the lead singer’s voice reminded me of him.

Apr 27 2026

I’ve still yet to listen to a British male rapper that’s actually good. These lyrics are just so eye roll-able. What is his obsession with being off beat? It gets annoying when he raps off beat the whole album.

Apr 29 2026

Apple Music classified this as a rock album and it is a really boring and dull rock album BUT!!!!! It is really cozy, like mom and dad is singing to you, but they are singing really sad songs and an jig about how they don't like being poor. Also, put some respect on Linda's name!!! She carried the album and I LOVED how warm and cozy her voice is.

Live At The Star Club, Hamburg by Jerry Lee Lewis
Apr 30 2026

The textbook definition of rock and roll. I'm sure this is a great album for its time but I think in the big year of 2026, I won't be picking up this album and listening to it on my own.

At Mister Kelly's by Sarah Vaughan
May 01 2026

I am a Mercury recoding artist? Anyways I LOVED this album. Her voice is so smooth and gorgeous and UGHHHH SO GOOD. The live part of this album really made me feel like I was in the room with her too, and its so fun hearing her improvise. I listened to this album while doing some cleaning and it made me feel like I am cleaning up a mega mansion with marble statues and tall delicately carved pillars (I am cleaning a tiny little suite in a shared apartment)

Blur by Blur
May 02 2026

I just realized I have heard most of this album throughout my life through my dad singing them or playing them in the car. This album has one of their most popular songs but everything else just kinda blur together (ha see what I did there)

Architecture And Morality by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
May 03 2026

Not entirely sure what I just listened to. I thought it would be more orchestral. There was no orchestra. It's giving coffee shop music

Tanto Tempo by Bebel Gilberto
May 04 2026

Making pasta while enjoying a glass of wine type music.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
May 05 2026

37 minutes of misery and despair. It was a cloudy and windy day and I was on a walk when I listened to it which was perfect.

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
May 06 2026

It’s a pretty average rock and roll album. It’s fun, it makes you walk faster, but everything sounds the same. It’s got some pretty fun lyrics.

Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer
May 07 2026

They think they cooked in the jam outs but it’s not even that good.

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
May 08 2026

It’s kind of reminding me of joy division. Gloomy, dark, gothic rock music. It is very cohesively themed.

Licensed To Ill by Beastie Boys
May 09 2026

I have girls stick in my head it’s kinda bad cuz I’ll be doing my work and then suddenly my head will just be like girls! And all I really want is girls! And in the morning it’s girls!

All Hail the Queen by Queen Latifah
May 10 2026

It’s not bad, it’s upbeat and I like upbeat stuff but it’s really repetitive. Lots of spelling in this album

69 Love Songs by The Magnetic Fields
May 11 2026

This album is ahead of its time in the sense that some of these songs sound AI generated. Which I guess if you write 69 love songs, they can't all be great. Some of these songs are kinda weird

Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen
May 12 2026

I can practically see the tumbleweed in front of me when listening to this album. I prefer the other more rock-y albums from springsteen.

Planet Rock: The Album by Afrika Bambaataa
May 13 2026

I feel like if I heard these songs in a club I would have a great time. The vibe really carried the entire album. Not a bad album and not bad songs, but just kinda fall flat as an album.

Sound Affects by The Jam
May 14 2026

Nothing really memorable tbh. Music for the last couple really confused me at the beginning.

Revolver by Beatles
May 15 2026

I feel like most people rate this really high just because it’s the Beatles. Yes, the Beatles have many great hits and a few of them lives in this album, but I feel like the entire album in its entirety wasn’t like world changing to me. It’s still good tho, yellow submarine is a banger and it was one of like 10 songs on my iPod when I was little. Always on loop

My Generation by The Who
May 16 2026

Ehhh it’s ok. Nothing crazy, just another rock album. Some interesting lyrics.

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
May 17 2026

It’s a pretty tame hip hop album. Pretty average I guess. Nothing really made me feel strongly about anything.

The Coral by The Coral
May 18 2026

Some of the songs are good individually but album does not know what it wants to be and is not cohesive. Some of these songs also sound a lot like other songs. I wouldn't say you must listen before your die. They do have some great song intro instrumentals. It is also a little too long for my liking but idk if I was supposed to listen to just disc 1 or both 1 and 2

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
May 19 2026

I usually like r&b/soul albums but there is too much talking, the songs are too long, and the instrumental parts comes off as annoying sometimes in this album

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
May 20 2026

It’s yet another rock album that also wants to dabble in some other genres. Sometimes the songs sound like a Beatles song. Huh I wonder why

Shadowland by k.d. lang
May 21 2026

Among a plethora of British rock bands that honestly start blending together and becoming indistinguishable, this album was a breath of fresh air. I know this artist and album predates Laufey, but it reminds me of her.

Mask by Bauhaus
May 22 2026

A lot of the songs sound the same. A few really stand out this I enjoyed Dancing very much and I laughed out loud in public while listening to that fishcake song

May 23 2026

This was an interesting album for me. An r&b album with jazz, rock, and country infused in it, an unpredictable listen that keeps you on your toes. Not really something I would seek out to listen to again, but I’m glad I got to hear this

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
May 24 2026

I like how strong this album started. However, things started to muddle together as the album progressed. Or maybe it was because I got distracted and wasn’t paying attention to the album. Anyways, not something I would listen to in public with that cover but I might try this album again as I was intrigued in the beginning.

Abraxas by Santana
May 26 2026

Jazz, rock, and Latin is a combination I didn’t know would work so well. The first half of the album flowed so well that I didn’t even realize I was like four songs in. Interesting listen, I enjoyed it very much

Peter Gabriel by Peter Gabriel
May 27 2026

I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I enjoyed this album a lot despite not having heard anything from this album before or even heard of the artist and album. This album is a little all over the place vibe-wise, but I liked all the songs individually. Definitely one I would revisit in the future.

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
May 28 2026

This album sounds like if Kid A is a little more orchestral, Radiohead is Icelandic, and they make songs that are a bit more joyful. This was a wonderful listen and I would definitely revisit this album. I wish I could understand what they are saying.

May 29 2026

This would be a better album if they just don’t sing in it because these lyrics are just not it. Musically, I enjoy the strong and loud music initially but as the album progresses, it started feeling repetitive. I don’t hate it enough to give it a 1 but it isn’t good.

In Utero by Nirvana
May 30 2026

It sounded quite different from nevermind and I think I prefer nevermind more. This feels less polished and more angry

Supa Dupa Fly by Missy Elliott
May 31 2026

A whole album about not messing with her and also let’s get lit. The beginning tracks were repetitive and boring to me, but she got my attention back with her more r&b sounds later in the album. I did fall asleep listening to this album so unfortunately I will have to give it a 2

Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jun 02 2026

This is my second time listening to this album and idk what was wrong with me the first time around only giving it a 4. This album SLAPS. One of the best, if not the best, album I’ve heard so far in this journey. AHDHSHAHHSHS SO GOOD

Ingenue by k.d. lang
Jun 03 2026

I would like to thank this website for helping me discover kd lang and her angelic voice. I could listen to her sing all the known digits of pi and stream the hell out of it. Anyways this album is great, except I understand how it can feel a little repetitive and drags on a bit bcs all these songs feels very similar. But it’s still great and it was very pleasant for the ears so I still like it a lot

The Who Sell Out by The Who
Jun 05 2026

I’m afraid I don’t really understand this album? Like they are singing about the most random things ever and sometimes I wonder if their songs are just ad placements. The only version available to Apple Music is the super deluxe version that has like 50 versions of each song and the whole thing is like 5 hours so I didn’t listen to all that. I listened to the version with the radio jingles and like it’s cool but like why??? Anyways some of the songs aren’t even that good and doesn’t make much sense so I will have to give it a 2.

Jun 06 2026

I completely understand why everyone is wearing the nirvana mtv unplugged tshirts now because this was life changing.

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Jun 07 2026

It’s kinda giving when someone is drunk and they cannot stop yapping, and they are slurring and keeps repeating themselves and saying the most random nonsense but they just won’t stop yapping. The album actually started out pretty strong and I liked how cozy it feels but then his voice and his lyrics really got on my nerves.
