I’m sure this was a good soundtrack to this film. This is nothing I would listen to again. Soundtracks are important to film, but not so much on a playlist

White Ladder by David Gray

I bought this album when it was released on the mere fact it had a sticker on it that said something regarding Dave Matthew’s - whom I followed like crazy at the time. This album turned out to be one of the defining albums of the soundtrack of my own life. Great record. Not a bad song anywhere on it.

Van Halen by Van Halen
Feb 27 2026

If I transport myself to a time when this record wasn’t out definitely a landmark in rock

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Mar 02 2026

Love Nick Drake but this was really boring. I get his contribution to music and this was his debut but sometimes someone’s best is not their debut.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Mar 04 2026

Not a hip hop fan but I can see the landmark quality

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Mar 05 2026

In the trip hop genre or electronica this may have been a hit in 91 but give me Portisheads dummy any day

Zombie by Fela Kuti
Mar 06 2026

Never heard of it. Didn’t get it. Good music thiugh

Mar 09 2026

I know he’s beloved and timeless. Definitely in the singer/songwriter genre this was defining

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Mar 10 2026

Hit after hit after hit! This was the first album I ever owned. A legendary piece of music history!

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Mar 11 2026

As a kid born in the late 70’s I was exposed to Motown and old R&B early and often. Had this been the first record I ever heard I would say it was great. However, in the pantheon of great singer and songs of this genre it was very forgettable

Surf's Up by The Beach Boys
Mar 17 2026

This was all the songs you never heard from the Beach Boys and I can totally see why. This album was horrible

Kala by M.I.A.
Mar 18 2026

As far as hip hop/electronic fusion goes this was unique and interesting. Definitely a lot of creativity and use of a variety of cultural sounds. Not my taste, but at least different than: “pimps, hoes, I’m better than you, I’m rich, I want to shoot everyone who disrespects me in sight.”

m b v by My Bloody Valentine
Mar 19 2026

I don’t mind weird music, but weird music that seems like the band was completely uninterested in being here is the worst. This is probably one of the top 10 worst albums I have ever heard. At least it made me want to turn it off and listen to Failure

Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Mar 20 2026

Mad respect for Prince and his contribution to music. His influence is everywhere and his talent is undeniable. None of these songs are my favorites of his, but if the people love it I get it.

Disintegration by The Cure
Mar 23 2026

Oh yeah! Definitely belongs on the list. Pure emotion from the the alternative gods!

Frank by Amy Winehouse
Mar 24 2026

Not my thing she was talented though. Her voice sounds the same in every song to me.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 25 2026

Bob Marley was a cultural legend. I didn’t enjoy this collection of songs particularly but his greatest hits: Legend was on for an entire summer in probably 93-94.

Mar 26 2026

I’m sure this was a good soundtrack to this film. This is nothing I would listen to again. Soundtracks are important to film, but not so much on a playlist

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Mar 27 2026

An immortal classic. Great music, songwriting, it should be in everyone’s collection

Bossanova by Pixies
Mar 30 2026

It’s the beginning of the 90’s and Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice and Chains have not broken through. I can hear the influence in all those bands in this record. No memorable tracks or good singles, but they definitely forged the way

Joan Armatrading by Joan Armatrading
Mar 31 2026

I had literally never heard of this artist or a single song. I believe it could be released as new music today and be wildly popular alongside some of the outlaw country or Americana music. A pleasant surprise from the past

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club
Apr 01 2026

I could have listened to the whole album, but I also could listen to two songs and tell you that I’m sure this is great music, but outside of the context of dancing it does absolutely nothing for me. Props to the Spanish/Carrib culture for their outstanding contribution to music, food, dancing, and just overall awesomeness.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis
Apr 02 2026

I’ve listened to Miles Davis before and he is a master at his craft. To jazz enthusiasts I’m sure this is a masterpiece, but it just sounds like a bunch of musicians who hit “record” and played for nearly two hours.

Fear Of Music by Talking Heads
Apr 06 2026

None of their best songs are on this album

The Wildest! by Louis Prima
Apr 07 2026

I will take your word for it

Only By The Night by Kings of Leon
Apr 08 2026

Never latched on to this band as a fan. There’s definitely some good songs. The lead singers voice gets on my nerves after a while

American Gothic by David Ackles
Apr 09 2026

Lost interest after 3 songs. Not good music at all

Melodrama by Lorde
Apr 10 2026

Talented singer and deep lyrics, but does nothing for me.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Apr 14 2026

A timeless classic from a rock legend

Ragged Glory by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Apr 15 2026

A legendary duo but no memorable songs on this.

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Apr 16 2026

A forgettable album by a band to at sounds like 12 other bands from the same time

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Apr 17 2026

I don’t even know how this album got recorded. Terrible. Never even made it through three songs before I was completely annoyed

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Apr 20 2026

This album was on every 90’s kids shelf and in every cd album. Zero t shirts were everywhere. I prefer their first three records, but the influence of this one is undeniable

Let's Stay Together by Al Green
Apr 21 2026

Al Green is awesome. Love his music. This album is representative of his best, but a lot of these old school guys have greatest hits albums that are much better

Djam Leelii by Baaba Maal
Apr 23 2026

Uh. What?! I guess this is what most of the rest of the world goes through when they listen to American music. Somewhere I’m sure this artist is packing out stadiums, but not for me.

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Apr 27 2026

Absolute musical gospel. This band and album should be in a museum. Their influence is felt every day

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Apr 28 2026

A tragic loss of a fine talent, but her music all sounds exactly the same to me. Wonderful voice.

I See You by The xx
May 01 2026

Interesting record. Not my style and probably nothing I would seek out, but I can see the appeal

A Hard Day's Night by Beatles
May 04 2026

I have never been a Beatles fan. Their music just does nothing for me however they are the most influential group of musicians ever to come together undeniable talent, undeniable ability.

Pornography by The Cure
May 05 2026

Not sure when this album falls in their discography, but it’s definitely “them.” A good representation of a great band with an unmistakable sound. None of my favorite songs, but still solid.

Ellington at Newport by Duke Ellington
May 06 2026

Not a huge jazz fan, but I’m sure this was a classic in its day

Heaux Tales by Jazmine Sullivan
May 07 2026

Absolutely nothing special here. It’s definitely in the genre. The artist spends time talking about how great she is, materialistic, and a slave to her desires and cravings. This has been done to death

Happy Trails by Quicksilver Messenger Service
May 08 2026

This is quite possibly the worst collection of music I have ever heard. Terrible recording, boring music. This doesn’t represent the genre well at all

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
May 11 2026

First time hearing this band. Had I given them a listen when this came out I probably would have been hooked.

Led Zeppelin II by Led Zeppelin
May 12 2026

This is legendary music. You can hear the influence on so much that came after this.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
May 14 2026

This bands place in music history was solidified long before they became classic rock. Their influence is everywhere, but what’s interesting is how blusey their early work was. They owe a huge debt to the blues community that probably doesn’t have much recorded and whose names are long forgotten

May 15 2026

Definitely unique for the time period but this album can’t make up its mind what it wants to be.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
May 18 2026

Well, Running Up That Hill is a great song and thanks to Stranger Things for reminding us. This record is very unique other than that song. Not my taste but Kate Bush has endured for many years for some reason. This album won’t be added to my playlist, but she’s a legend.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
May 19 2026

Not a bad listen at all. I like their sound. This is one of those bands I have heard of for years and couldn’t name a song or a sound to save my life. A good listen

White Ladder by David Gray
May 20 2026

I bought this album when it was released on the mere fact it had a sticker on it that said something regarding Dave Matthew’s - whom I followed like crazy at the time. This album turned out to be one of the defining albums of the soundtrack of my own life. Great record. Not a bad song anywhere on it.

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
May 21 2026

Legends. Masters. Whatever you want to label this band they are rock, blues, messiahs. So many people owe so much to bands like this. This is a live album which normally makes me cringe, but this one works

Imperial Bedroom by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
May 22 2026

Unbelievably terrible

Now I Got Worry by The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
May 27 2026

I’m sure there’s an audience out there for this, but it is nothing I will ever listen to again. It’s oddly recorded and mastered, and I get the vintage sound they were probably going for. Sounds like Rolling Stones with a lot of profanity and a punk rock edge.

Get Behind Me Satan by The White Stripes
May 28 2026

Never really listened to this band. Cool sound, but nothing really grabs me.

Ill Communication by Beastie Boys
May 29 2026

I have never listened to a Beastie Boys album. They have some great tracks, but I can’t ever get into these guys for more than a song or two. They are unique and legendary on the scene though

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Jun 01 2026

After the success of OK computer I feel like this band decided they could do whatever they want and release it and people would gobble it up as art and creative and awesome. This is awful. It is drivel and lazy sounding. Cannot stand anything they have made since OK Computer which is unbelievably great

Ramones by Ramones
Jun 02 2026

So this is an album. You definitely had to transport yourself back to 1976 to appreciate I would have to say coming out of the disco era and the yacht rock that was available at the time this would have been transcendent punk is not my favorite, but I bet this was groundbreaking for the time.

Parklife by Blur
Jun 03 2026

Sorry guys when I can’t get into even one song after 4 songs I’m done. I know there’s an audience for this band, but I don’t like it

Jun 05 2026

In the early, early 90’s a white kid in a predominantly white school was obsessed with PE. This album didn’t really show me why. He had nothing to identify with this. However, its strong revolutionary and urban message to young Africas Americans is strong. Hip Hop and Rap has never been my thing but this was when it was done well

Rio by Duran Duran
Jun 08 2026

Yes, yes, yes. Classic. Timeless.

Surrealistic Pillow by Jefferson Airplane
Jun 25 2026

Excellent! Masters of the psychedelic sound. Enjoyed many of the songs.

Pearl by Janis Joplin
Jun 26 2026

Unmistakable voice. Gone way too soon

Parachutes by Coldplay
Jun 29 2026

Where it all started. This was one of the last CD’s I bought and based on just one song and it turned out the whole thing was terrific and would see Coldplay just barely getting started as well as still around in 2026. Definitely belongs on this list.

Beauty And The Beat by The Go-Go's
Jun 30 2026

Iconic 80’s tunes and sound. The mixing and mastering is awful. Way unbalanced but common for the time. Loved their sound. Great to see an Al girl group on this list

It's Too Late to Stop Now by Van Morrison
Jul 01 2026

I have never listened to more than one Van Morrison song at a time. I generally do not like live albums but this one was good. Lots of songs have never heard before

Kenya by Machito
Jul 02 2026

If this was the first ever album like this then I could see it being special, but it’s jazz. It sounds like jazz. Bravo to the wonderful musicians who make the music, but I hear no distinction between tracks and I couldn’t tell where one ends and the other begins

Tidal by Fiona Apple
Jul 03 2026

This takes me back. Bought this album and listened to it regularly for a few years. Great debut.

Machine Head by Deep Purple
Jul 08 2026

I had this album for years and only listened to smoke on the water. Glad this popped up. A great album from rock legends. Edgy, raw sound.

Country Life by Roxy Music
Jul 09 2026

Not for me. Great musicians I can tell, but too weird for me

Music From The Penguin Cafe by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
Jul 10 2026

I don’t even understand how this was ever recorded and then someone went back and “remastered” it?! Why? This is pointless music. Bored after 2 songs

Be by Common
Jul 13 2026

I like the vibe of urban hip hop. Usually more honest, socially aware, and less vulgar. Commons voice and style is smooth and enjoyable

Live! by Fela Kuti
Jul 14 2026

This sounds like the music from the Oceans movies. It was cool, but nothing I would listen to again or say was highly influential

Django Django by Django Django
Jul 15 2026

This is probably one of the most awful collections of songs ever for me. Could not wait for it to be over. This influenced nothing and was special at no level ever.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel
Jul 16 2026

I wonder what it was like listening to this for the first time not knowing how timeless these artists and songs would become? It was a privilege to hear this classic.

Dance Mania by Tito Puente
Jul 17 2026

Very enjoyable to listen to. Not my style of music, but love the culture

Jul 20 2026

Meh, Indie rock. Nothing stood out. Good music, but nothing memorable

Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
Jul 21 2026

This album is museum quality. That’s how legendary this band and this record are. You often wonder did they know what they had when they wrote and recorded this? Unbelievable in every way.

Smash by The Offspring
Jul 24 2026

This is a memorable one. Instant memories when I saw this album cover. First heard it on cassette in someone’s car and then recorded self esteem in vhs off of mtv to be able to rock out at a buddies house cause none of us could afford the new album yet. I would not go on to embrace the punk sound but I was into this one pretty solid for a while

Sticky Fingers by The Rolling Stones
Jul 27 2026

One of the classic rock bands that I just can’t get in to. Undeniable respect for their ongoing contribution to music, but I have never connected with much of it. Still, I cannot take anything away from anything they have done.

Harvest by Neil Young
Jul 28 2026

Legendary artist. Not my favorite songs by him, but there’s a reason he has endured so long.

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Jul 29 2026

It’s amazing when you consider that GNR managed to survive the hair metal/ballad rock phase they emerged on the heels of. This album was huge, but having never listened to anything but the hits my whole life I’m amazed they did last. The songs that weren’t hits on here were very bland and sound the same. The hits are legendary which is why this did have such lasting power.

Dry by PJ Harvey
Jul 30 2026

Meh. I like this artist. I have some of her other stuff. This was not her best

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Aug 04 2026

Interesting sound. Just doesnt connect to me muc

Feast of Wire by Calexico
Aug 05 2026

Never heard of this band. Peaceful and enjoyable to listen to, but nothing memorable

Yank Crime by Drive Like Jehu
Aug 06 2026

Interesting sound. Never heard of this band. Nothing really stood out but a good record

Crime Of The Century by Supertramp
Aug 07 2026

Great classic rock. Hadn’t heard much by this band and they were indeed skilled

Aug 10 2026

This was a legendary moment in their career and for music. One can only wonder if Kurt had lived what kind of music he would have made and what would have become of Nirvana.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Aug 11 2026

A music - not just country legend. What a voice and I’m sure her life experience is reflected in this music. It comes across as very honest and open music.

Broken English by Marianne Faithfull
Aug 12 2026

This is really terrible. Do not like the voice of this singer. Sorry, do not enjoy this music

Hotel California by Eagles
Aug 13 2026

Music history cannon. Great on great. Every song a classic.

British Steel by Judas Priest
Aug 14 2026

It’s cool to see how metal got its start with bands like this. I’m familiar with some of these songs and while I don’t really connect with the music I can see how they paved the way for so much that came after them.
