She got the Mercedes Benz “UGH”. Sequencing and flow sucks, but some good tracks.
1. The last resort
2. Try and love
3. Wasted time (reprise)
Absolute fire
Realized I had never listened to a full rush album before. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would, ended up listening to all the live cuts on the anniversary edition too.
Obviously it’s a big influential record, and there are some great songs on it, but a lot of it feels stuck in it’s era instead of timeless. Also not a fan of prince going shriek mode
My #3 AF album, it’s banger after banger.
Would’ve been a 3 if it wasn’t for the blasphemy.
Supreme
It was fine, inoffensive and some sounds were interesting, inclusion of bird chirps was nice comedic relief. Overall just kind of boring.
Thoroughly enjoyed. I definitely want to make some time to look a bit deeper into their stuff.
Half the songs are pretty interesting, and half sound like they were made for Madagascar The Game for GameCube, not necessarily derogatory.
One of the albums that put me on the path of discovering music as a youngin. Easiest 5
If Help! became a band and only had access to a potato to record its music you’d have this record. Zilch was great though

I’m sure some people probably hate how long and drawn out a lot of the songs are, but the atmosphere is exactly what makes me love this album. Almost feels like I lose track of how far into the album I am, but also don’t really care.
The piano accents on weather storm sound like they were taken straight from breath of the wild. Otherwise even though it’s non offensive I’ve just never been able to click with massive attack. This album made me feel like it was 2am in a sleazy bar and I didn’t belong there.
Bjück
I love this. I listened to it 4 times. Thrasher, powderfinger, sail away, the opening and closing tracks, it was all so well done. I definitely was not ready for Neil young even a year ago but I just connected with this for some reason now.
Pretty good, a little slow at points but I feel it’s one of those albums I could grow to like if I really tried. The last song was a standout to me, I found it had a progression very similar to death cab.
I listened to it twice and liked it enough, although it felt like every other song was just a less good version of Sultans.
This album is so good that wonderwall isn’t even the best song on it. It’s 50 minutes of “Hell Yeah” music to me, and not at all blinded by nostalgia.
I guess when you give coke to a theatre kid you get something close to a masterpiece. This album held my attention through its long runtime. I loved how many different directions he took it in and yet nothing really sounded out of place, except maybe for Jamaican Jerk Off.
I’m still not a huge Beatles fan, but this is one of their albums that I prefer slightly more. It sits somewhere between a 3 and 4 for me, but giving it 3 feels too low when an album was this influential.
Definitely need to be in a specific mood to listen to this but bongo jazz is actually pretty sick. The timing of a lot of the horn stabs is really interesting and I feel there’s something musically to learn from that.
It was just fine. I have nothing to say which in a way says a lot.
Didn’t listen to the entire runtime, but Ella can probably take anyone’s discography and make it sound beautiful.
There was nothing wrong with this, I just found it boring.
While I love some of his classics, desolation row and like a rolling stone are awesome, after an hour and a half the nasal crooning does get to me. Still enjoyed this though.
This might be some of the best storytelling in an album ever. Listening to this and then born in the USA back to back makes me respect Bruce a lot, he can capture extremely different vibes so well
Not huge on Queens, and this album felt a bit bloated to me. Definitely some good riffs in here but at this point in time I’m just not into that sludgy 90’s palette.
I used to think the Black Keys were so much better than The White Stripes in that debate. But revisiting this, I feel it holds up so much better in the end. Hotel Yorba, Fell in love with a girl, we’re going to be friends, all classics.
I actually didn’t mind this and mostly because his voice wasn’t as obnoxiously twangy as most country singers.
I don’t care if hungry like the wolf is a top 10 cheesy song I love it.
The singles really carry this album and still are amazing. Other half of the songs continue to not age super well.
Rachel kept asking me to turn it off
I did enjoy some parts, found her voice got a bit grating to my ears as it dragged on.
Waiting for the Sun was actually my standout track, loved it’s punchiness. Peace frog obviously another classic. A couple other good tracks but overall I think the second half of the album falls flat compared to the first half. This sits a bit higher than a 3 but not quite 4 level for me.
A light 3, I probably wouldn’t return to this one, but it was perfectly fine. The first and last song were like goofy intro/outro, and the sax added some depth even if the songs themselves weren’t super strong.
Walmart Oasis.
I thought it started out kind of strong, but then they started waffling around. I even checked my phone once to see if it had switched to autoplay because each song sounded so disconnected from the one before it, I was confused. This is an EXTREMELY light 3, like a 2.6.
In a vacuum some of these songs are good. As an album though it feels like it doesn’t know who it wants to be. You go from a song that sounds like it should be on the banjo-kazooie soundtrack to a Jack Johnson B-side. Makes no sense to me.
All of these songs are so good at their core that even when you take the grunge palate away from them they hold up. In some cases they shine even more.
My fav Dylan
Quiet was the standout track to me, sonically had interesting ideas but lacked any real punch for me.
Appreciate it but likely won’t go back to it unless a hyper specific situation calls for it.
I’ve listened to a fair amount of Genesis and am a fan but this album especially stood out to me. So many parts of it feel like they could’ve come out today, gives it a timeless feel. Will be going back to this. 4.5
I love Bowie very much.
This is what Frutiger Aero sounds like to me.
Bramphex Twin.
Layla is working overtime to support an album of extremely generic blues.
A pop album with genuine care that went into it.
Unexpected bop. It could’ve been like 20 mins shorter but honestly it was so groovy that half the time I didn’t even realize the songs were like 9 minutes long.
Some jazz can get annoying, this jazz leaves you discovering something new on every listen. Loved it.
Some of the songs were fine but on the overall did not really enjoy. Any song that I didn’t mind was ruined by Mark Arms voice. It’s just not my cup of tea.
This was great, hard to believe it’s from 1978. I feel like this could have come out in any of the decades since and it would still make sense. Really feels like tons of the bands I love must’ve been influenced by this.
The real crime is that this album isn’t talked about more. This has no flaws to me.
My mom liked this album
So many good cuts on this. Any time an indie/alternative band throws strings in the mix I’m a sucker for it unfortunately.
This was a great one, sounds like a scrappy kid doing r&b/jazz and it comes off very genuine.
Enjoyable listen, hard to be mad at jangly guitars.
Wooden Ships was cool as hell. Disappointed that they only said bye-bye 5 times in a song called 49 Bye-byes.
Would love to hear what these guys could accomplish with a 4th member to really flesh out this sound.
This album is Dirt.
Cheesy as heck and that’s why I like it.
Musically I liked it, vocally I just found it was too chanty or whatever you want to call it. Got old after awhile.
First exposure to Nick Drake, pleasantly surprised.
What the heck was the production on this. The drums sound like they’re in the bathroom with the door cracked open while it sounds like he’s singing at an awkward level right into your ear. It made mediocre songs sound so much worse.
This is so degenerate.
Was expecting this to be more hard rock than blues but can’t be mad at it.
Loved how they can build tension in such unique ways.
Vocals drone too much for my liking.
This entire thing just sounds so thin. I also hate all the little sound samples, they’ve all aged like milk.
I’ve sunk HOURS into this album, Eno is a legend.
No time for 2hr spoken word tracks.
This is the backdrop for the ultimate dinner party. I love it but not really a listen outside of that scenario.
