This millennial burger place album really overstays its welcome
It’s iconic, it influenced so many better bands and I think it captures the energy of their live shows really well. On the other hand I would think that show was shit. If you’re going to be an industry plant at least learn to play the instruments well.

I think that Wyclef is talented, but Lauryn Hill HARD carries this album
Liked the front half of the album but got a bit repetitive by the end.
I thought I understood the vibe of this album, then they started rapping the whitest rap and I was completely lost.
I guess that it’s really ambitious and it does have a couple good songs, but I’ve seen this type of album done better and without giving me whiplash

I've called early Coldplay Radiohead clones a lot, but to be fair to them, being a copy of a better band doesn't automatically make you bad.
Also, this is just a personal thing, but I remember in secondary school EVERYBODY'S favourite song was Yellow, and I didn't get it then, and I extra don't get it after listening to the whole album. Maybe the simple lyrics spoke to all the 13 year olds.

Love how they’re able to blend traditional Brazilian instruments with the rockier style of the album. Also reminded me that the cuica exists and now I want one.

One-hour album, and only the first two songs are great. Blur are at their best when they're being quirked up and British.

The instrumentals on this album are beautiful and haunting, creating an unsettling scene. Then Cave started talking, and I got kinda bored. The child/parent double-album concept was interesting in theory, but in practise I didn't care that much, and it was kinda a slog to finish. Album cover is cool, though.
Stevie Wonder's classic period might be the best run in all of music. This album is less good than the rest of them, but it's still damn near perfect.

This album really feels like the moment when Queen became Queen. Everyone gets their moment to shine, but Freddie's vocal style elevates the whole album.
The music is nothing to write home about, and the lyrics are weird at best and kind of offensive at worst. And I don't like him. Take this 1.
Surprised by how funky the front half of the album was. Don't really associate the temptations with the genre, but it works really well. The back half is more traditional Motown, which is fine, but not as good as the beginning.
If you don’t like this album then you should probably talk to more black people.

This album was sooooooo close to being genuinely perfect. Compared to earlier albums, John's songwriting becomes more intimate, Paul becomes this amazing bass player out of nowhere, and you can feel the more focused energy from the entire band. I just don't know why they chose a scary ass song like 'Run for Your Life' as a closer. It doesn't ruin anything, but it's just an odd choice.
I can't explain it, but this album just feels really cosy. Like a warm jumper. Not my favourite, but if it's someone else's, I'll tip my hat to them and shake their hand.
