This millennial burger place album really overstays its welcome
It’s iconic, it influenced so many better bands and I think it captures the energy of their live shows really well. On the other hand I would think that show was shit. If you’re going to be an industry plant at least learn to play the instruments well.
Sometimes you just aren’t in the mood for noise and that’s OK
The first song reminds me of music to make you poop
I think that Wyclef is talented, but Lauryn Hill HARD carries this album
Liked the front half of the album but got a bit repetitive by the end.
I thought I understood the vibe of this album, then they started rapping the whitest rap and I was completely lost.
I guess that it’s really ambitious and it does have a couple good songs, but I’ve seen this type of album done better and without giving me whiplash
Not bad, but kinda just went in one ear and out the other
I don’t get the people who said this was repetitive. It’s house music, that’s the whole point.
I've called early Coldplay Radiohead clones a lot, but to be fair to them, being a copy of a better band doesn't automatically make you bad.
Also, this is just a personal thing, but I remember in secondary school EVERYBODY'S favourite song was Yellow, and I didn't get it then, and I extra don't get it after listening to the whole album. Maybe the simple lyrics spoke to all the 13 year olds.
While technically it’s not the best it’s very fun
Long, boring with a dated sound.
Actually not that bad, but me and Bono have beef
An album that is not only amazing, but it also really captures the feeling of America in the 2000s.
Music so good I almost forgot Courtney Love is racist
Reminds me of something my mom would listen to. Real nostalgic experience
It gives the vibes of friends having fun but it’s also the most talented group of friends you’ve seen.
The sound is pretty generic. Sounds like most other early 90’s alt rock bands.
Just wasn’t feeling it as a whole experience. Songs are fine on their own but as an album it kinda sucks
Love how they’re able to blend traditional Brazilian instruments with the rockier style of the album. Also reminded me that the cuica exists and now I want one.
Fun, funky, cool hat. What’s not to love?
Not bad just kinda boring
This album is great but all the popular songs have been overplayed to the point where I hate them.
One-hour album, and only the first two songs are great. Blur are at their best when they're being quirked up and British.
For now, this is the greatest shoegaze album of all time to me. Was on constant repeat during my first year of college
The instrumentals on this album are beautiful and haunting, creating an unsettling scene. Then Cave started talking, and I got kinda bored. The child/parent double-album concept was interesting in theory, but in practise I didn't care that much, and it was kinda a slog to finish. Album cover is cool, though.
Stevie Wonder's classic period might be the best run in all of music. This album is less good than the rest of them, but it's still damn near perfect.
Had to listen in pieces cause his voice gave me a headache so that sums up how I feel about this album
It was a massive influence on the Crow comic book, so all the praise it gets is deserved
Leagues better than transformer, but still found it slightly unremarkable
I just realised that P Diddy kinda ruined 'Every Breath You Take' for me. Fine album, but got to take points away for making me think of that guy.
This album really feels like the moment when Queen became Queen. Everyone gets their moment to shine, but Freddie's vocal style elevates the whole album.
The music is nothing to write home about, and the lyrics are weird at best and kind of offensive at worst. And I don't like him. Take this 1.
Surprised by how funky the front half of the album was. Don't really associate the temptations with the genre, but it works really well. The back half is more traditional Motown, which is fine, but not as good as the beginning.
If you don’t like this album then you should probably talk to more black people.
Had to listen to it twice cause the first time I thought it was shit, but it grew on me. If you pretend to be someone's 50-year-old dad, then it works better
Makes me feels like going to the club and doing a dangerous amount of cocaine
I’m sorry Nick, I didn’t recognise your game. Ts good as hell
I remember this album being a a lot heavier but that’s 80s metal for you I guess. Pretty inoffensive all things considered.
Rambles just enough for it to be enjoyable
One of the best examples I've seen of an album that mixes thought-provoking social commentary with just amazing music. That's kinda the point of reggae, but whatever, it's good
This is just supremely my shit.
Dated beats, dated flows, tired delivery, it's way too long, and maybe it's just me, but the mixing is really bad too. The title track saved bros career.
Looked at sex pistols and sighed
My beef with bono has been put on hiatus cause this actually warmed my heart and healed my nostalgic inner child. Still shocked by how modern this sounded.
‘Tis good but just a bit samey, which feels worse cause the albums like an hour long
fun short time. I love bands that are able to do simple stuff really well. Is it kinda cheating cause its a compilation album, I guess, but cheating sounds good
Don't have much to say, just very good
ts boring af. I don't care enough to give it a 1.
This album was sooooooo close to being genuinely perfect. Compared to earlier albums, John's songwriting becomes more intimate, Paul becomes this world class bass player out of nowhere, and you can feel the more focused energy from the entire band. I just don't know why they chose a scary ass song like 'Run for Your Life' as a closer. It doesn't ruin anything, but it's just an odd choice.
I can't explain it, but this album just feels really cosy. Like a warm jumper. Not my favourite, but if it's someone else's, I'll tip my hat to them and shake their hand.
Reasonably wild time was had
Randy Newman’s voice annoys me
Pretty confidently his second best album but that's not saying much.
Not sure if this is a hot take but this should be the Radiohead album people should start with to get into them. They have so many sounds and this like if you take a piece of all of them to make one thing that's pretty good.
This sounds bad but sometimes I forget that Snoop Dogg is a legend in the rap space and not just a guy that likes weed. Good album though.
The way that best part of the album is in the middle of a 9 minute song that is the end track for an album with songs that feel just as long is very funny to me. Also there's a part of simple man that reminds me of Teezus and I'm fairly sure the venn diagram of Lynyrd Skynyrd fans and underground rap fans is just two circles on opposite sides of the world
Still don’t really get why that guy on twitter leaked the ending of endgame over her but I still think she’s talented. If you told me that Taylor would be doing murder folk lite I would’ve been dreading it but no body no crime is a stand out for me
Surprised I liked this half as much as I did. Feels very authentic.
Usually a big fan of noisier music but I don't think it was done great. Seems very of the time it came out but pushed forward a bit which I enjoy
Half the songs sound like remixes to his cover of Santa Clause is coming to town, all I could think of cause I got kinda bored
