METAL FORTH

Metal Forth is the Fifth album of Babymetal. Like the debut album it's a combination of melodic metal and j-pop. Within this style the album has quite some variation in the songs with many guest appearances.

Was going to rant about another too-recent pick for the list, but given there seems to be another Babymetal LP waiting for me, this seems to be someone's (or some people's) idea of a joke. Kinda sad to think somebody listened to 1100 albums just to throw their pick away on a gag, but hey, whatever floats your boat!

I’m not sure I need both of the Babymetal albums on the list, but not a bad idea to at least hear something from this group before they die. Not sure if this is better or worse than the other pick, but it was fun and entertaining!

Actually really enjoyed quite a few of these

Two instances of Babymetal showing up in the same smallish cohort of listener-submitted offerings seems odd, maybe it is just coincidence. Not sure the list needed to double up on this particular band. And I don't have much to say beyond my last review: this seems to have divested much of the babygirl vocal style which is a positive shift in my book, and also tended to a little more mainstream sound. I was satisfied enough to rock out half an hour on this but still don't feel like it's all that.

Metal for gamers

This album was added just over 3 weeks after it was released... I know there was another Babymetal album submitted but let it wait. Unless this album was receiving immediate critical acclaim and was the number 1 across the world and was heralded as a breakthrough, it did not need to be added that quickly. It isn't and that is a huge strike against it. Listening to it I absolutely do not see why it needed to be here. It's okay and exactly what one would expect when hearing the name kawaii metal. I'd heard of the band before but never listened to it and I don't think it's for me. The vocals are somewhat annoying, like other metal albums. Maybe if they didn't have guest vocalists it would be better? Also the last song really sounds like Through the Fire and the Flames (I think it is that one... it sounds like a rip off of another song I've heard). My personal rating: 3/5 My rating relative to the list: 3/5 Should this have been included on the original list? No.

Video game music meets desperately trying to be cool/modern/popular. All flash and no feel.

I had to bail after 3 songs because it was bat sh*t crazy. Not one-star bad, but bananas

Most recent album 💿 on the list

The first babymetal album I got I thought maybe someone really loves this kind of metal. The second baby metal album in one week, I thought this has to be some sort of music trolling. Hard to say if this album was any better than the other. They have songs in English but the instrumentals are even more intense to the point it’s just noise sometimes. It’s whatever. If two people really love these albums, I hope they find each other and never have access to touch tunes where I’m at. 1.7/10

Thought this was a joke, i'd heard "gimme chocolate" before but thought it was an ironic thing. The first song wasn't that bad but the second summed up the whole thing, overproduced trying so hard to be cool and cutey. 1.4
