10/10 a surprisingly catchy, bluesy tribute to horror-Americana loved just about every second of this <3

8/10 actually pretty awesome for an electro-pop album a lot more avant-garde than I was expecting; I really liked this a lot!

4/10 definitely not a bad album, but REALLY not for me but if you love metal music, you’ll definitely get a kick out of this

look, no offense to whoever put this album on here, but I feel like John Mayer is just Marvin Gaye for white people; like what Elvis Presley is to Chuck Barry, just capitalizing on a good sound for an audience who doesn’t want the real deal I think a lot of my resentment for this album is based on the fact that my mom is a diehard Mayer fan and I grew up listening to all of these songs to a nauseating degree look, I don’t hate it, I’d even say it’s fairly well made, but there is an inherent resentment that might not be all that deserved, but I’m sticking to it - 5/10

I would like to sincerely thank whoever submitted this album it’s so cool hearing a prog rock album that’s so good and so underrated you spend the entire time thinking “how the hell have I never heard of this?!?” it’s seriously so, so amazing - 10/10

actually surprised with how much I like this; I tend to dislike most 90s hard rock, but this is such a distinct combination of System of a Down (who I’m honestly not a big fan of) and Mr Bungle— who I fucking LOVE and this definitely leans much closer to — which makes for a slightly mixed bag of an album that I majoritively enjoyed quite a bit :) 9/10

with an album cover like that I was expecting this to be some kinda trashy country with some Kid Rock-like rap metal type shit turns out this is one of the greatest psychedelic/shoegaze rock albums I’ve ever heard in my life what a contrast with a cover that bad, and an album that good! - 10/10

I’m not much of a metal fan, but I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t some of the most fun I’ve had listening to a metal album; J-Metal just hits different swear to god - 9/10

made the mistake of listening to Full Moon Fever before this, which was such a dry, boring album, like Paul Simon’s later career but less fun this album is drastically different actually extremely creative and likely his best work - 9/10

HELL YEAH! never thought I’d see a Michael Hurley album on this site! this is so fucking cool! not my favorite album of his if I’m being honest, that would probably go to Armchair Boogie, with Ling Journey being a close second but I still can’t put into words how happy this and literally every other song of his makes me - one of the greatest musicians of his generation who passed away not too long ago this album, like all others, are too good to give a rating to, tho I guess the full five stars will have to suffice - thank you Michael Hurley, for everything you’ve made <3

I know I’ve been long overdue for listening to more of MF DOOM’s music, since Madvilliany has been one of my favorite rap albums for years, and it’s honestly such an amazing experience listening to more of the same genius’s work he was an incredible talent, and I hope he’s in a better place now :) 10/10

10/10 I decided to listen to all of Cameron’s albums, and it’s been very interesting seeing how he’s evolved this character as a platform for exploring toxic masculinity incredible both in concept and execution, I genuinely really love this, both the idea and the genre :D

7/10 look, I’m not the biggest Beyoncé fan, but I’ll admit this album actually had some surprisingly good production that’ had me pleasantly surprised she’s had a few songs in the past with great production (Single Ladies does NOT deserve all the hate it got, that production is fucking insane if you know music theory) but I’ve heard several projects from her that just bugged the shit out of me, so I’m glad something like this was actually nice and refreshing :)

5/10 I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but the majority of what I was feeling hearing this was either boredom or annoyance also have no idea why this was labeled as avant/art-metal, it literally just sounds like normal metal with a slightly more open, airy, almost post-rocky sound - that’s not an avant-garde composition (like what Tool or Mr. Bungle do) that’s just a stylistic choice in how it was recorded and mixed idk, didn’t hate it, but this album wasn’t good enough to make me wanna hear more from this band

10/10 loooove pretty much all music I’ve heard from Brazil, whether it’s older jazz, or in this case modern pop, it’s all incredible but it’s so weird listening to Portuguese because— as someone who’s fairly familiar with Spanish, — I *kind of* understand it, like a majority of the words I get, but the pronunciation is so different that I can barely follow it at all not to diss on Portuguese, it’s a lovely language and I’m sure I’d love to learn it one day after I better understand Spanish :)

I’m not the target demographic for this— or maybe I am? as a transfemme on estrogen, — I just don’t really care much for hyperpop but this album was consistently diverse, clearly a very creative and adventurous album that didn’t take long for me to get into it still isn’t an album I *looove*, but I sure did enjoy the heck out of this - 8/10

this actually isn’t my first time hearing this I remember when I was a lot younger I found my dad’s collection of old cassettes and listened to this on his old walkman and while this time ‘round was a far different experience, hearing it on apple music in dolby atmosphere, it’s still an incredible album to listen to no matter how you hear it the fusion of jazz with hip-hop reminds me a lot of The Low End Theory, but I really appreciate their unique approach to a familiar concept - 10/10

eh, I kinda liked it at first, but the novelty of ska punk quickly became grating, and I spent most of this album’s runtime waiting for it to end - 5/10

oh shit! I was genuinely contemplating adding this one myself, one of my favorite indie rock albums ever words don’t do justice to how good this one is I’ll often just play Farewell Transmission and leave it running on loop all day

7/10 kinda fun, but often got tired of the novelty, but when it hits, it sure does hit
