Popular Reviews

Inside by Bo Burnham

10/10 I absolutely think this album is worth being on the 1001 albums list this album (but more importantly the special itself) perfectly captures so much of the exhausting monotony and the world-ending anxiety that psychologically infected everyone’s mind to an even more contagious degree than the virus itself a beautiful piece of pandemic-art that is (thankfully) outdated in a post-covid world, but still serves as a beautiful reminder of what once was

To Be Kind by Swans

10/10 probably one of the best albums to get people into Swans my personal favorite is probably Soundtracks for the Blind, but this one is still fucking flawless

The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads by Lift To Experience

with an album cover like that I was expecting this to be some kinda trashy country with some Kid Rock-like rap metal type shit turns out this is one of the greatest psychedelic/shoegaze rock albums I’ve ever heard in my life what a contrast with a cover that bad, and an album that good! - 10/10

Ida Con Snock by Michael Hurley

HELL YEAH! never thought I’d see a Michael Hurley album on this site! this is so fucking cool! not my favorite album of his if I’m being honest, that would probably go to Armchair Boogie, with Ling Journey being a close second but I still can’t put into words how happy this and literally every other song of his makes me - one of the greatest musicians of his generation who passed away not too long ago this album, like all others, are too good to give a rating to, tho I guess the full five stars will have to suffice - thank you Michael Hurley, for everything you’ve made <3

Neon Golden by The Notwist

kinda sounds like the kirkland brand Kid A, but I still fucking love this - 10/10

1-Star Albums (2)

The Evil One by Roky Erickson
Sep 19 2025

10/10 a surprisingly catchy, bluesy tribute to horror-Americana loved just about every second of this <3

Sep 20 2025

8/10 actually pretty awesome for an electro-pop album a lot more avant-garde than I was expecting; I really liked this a lot!

HELLYEAH by HELLYEAH
Sep 21 2025

4/10 definitely not a bad album, but REALLY not for me but if you love metal music, you’ll definitely get a kick out of this

Foxes in the Snow by Jason Isbell
Sep 22 2025

7/10 pretty good! I liked it :) I wish I loved it, (I don’t,) but it’s still fairly enjoyable

Watch Out! by Alexisonfire
Sep 23 2025

6/10 another album that I can appreciate, but REALLY isn’t for me - but if you love this, good for you!

Version 2.0 by Garbage
Sep 24 2025

finally, some “Garbage” I actually like! sorry but all the heavy metal user album just really aren’t my thing, this band is amazing tho!

Argus by Wishbone Ash
Sep 25 2025

10/10 one of my alltime favorite prog rock albums, I could listen to this every day and likely never get tired of it :)

No.1 In Heaven by Sparks
Sep 26 2025

oh hell yeah! Sparks is one of my favorite post-punk/new wave bands, and while this isn’t my favorite album, it’s still fucking phenomenal :) - 10/10

Madvillainy by Madvillain
Sep 28 2025

I was honestly surprised this wasn’t on 1001 I mean, if MBDTF could be on here, then this sure needs to be! and this is a million times better! one of my alltime favorite rap albums :)

Continuum by John Mayer
Sep 30 2025

look, no offense to whoever put this album on here, but I feel like John Mayer is just Marvin Gaye for white people; like what Elvis Presley is to Chuck Barry, just capitalizing on a good sound for an audience who doesn’t want the real deal I think a lot of my resentment for this album is based on the fact that my mom is a diehard Mayer fan and I grew up listening to all of these songs to a nauseating degree look, I don’t hate it, I’d even say it’s fairly well made, but there is an inherent resentment that might not be all that deserved, but I’m sticking to it - 5/10

Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera by Elmer Gantry's Velvet Opera
Oct 01 2025

I would like to sincerely thank whoever submitted this album it’s so cool hearing a prog rock album that’s so good and so underrated you spend the entire time thinking “how the hell have I never heard of this?!?” it’s seriously so, so amazing - 10/10

Dimanche à Bamako by Amadou & Mariam
Oct 02 2025

10/10 absolutely lovely! always down for some african music!

Afraid Of Sunlight by Marillion
Oct 03 2025

9/10 some pretty fantastic stuff here; tho I slightly prefer Misplaced Childhood just because it’s a little more explicitly proggy, tho this is still a fantastic album without a doubt

Keep It like a Secret by Built To Spill
Oct 04 2025

10/10, some really top tier 90s indie here - Built to Spill truly is a treasure

Dilate by Ani DiFranco
Oct 05 2025

8/10, I really like this! some really neat songs here :)

Milo Goes to College by Descendents
Oct 06 2025

8/10 super fun punk music, kinda dumb but in a very enjoyable way

Goat by The Jesus Lizard
Oct 07 2025

8/10 pretty good, but not really anything that stood out to me as being truly great or special, tho I understand this album is very special to a lot of people

Diamonds & Gasoline by Turnpike Troubadours
Oct 08 2025

sorry but this whole album sounded so lousily formulaic - like, if the vocal quality sounded a little more compressed I could totally believe every song was AI generated - 4/10

Oct 09 2025

actually surprised with how much I like this; I tend to dislike most 90s hard rock, but this is such a distinct combination of System of a Down (who I’m honestly not a big fan of) and Mr Bungle— who I fucking LOVE and this definitely leans much closer to — which makes for a slightly mixed bag of an album that I majoritively enjoyed quite a bit :) 9/10

Polygondwanaland by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Oct 10 2025

is KG&TLW the great band to ever exist?! I’m easy to please, and prog rock is one of the quickest ways to my heart - 10/10

Modal Soul by Nujabes
Oct 11 2025

10/10 first time listening to Nujabes, and it’s so cool hearing an artist who pioneered the lofi-hip hop genre really great stuff :D

Tales Of Mystery And Imagination by The Alan Parsons Project
Oct 12 2025

10/10 holy shit! can’t believe I’ve never heard of this before! just some very top-top-top tier art rock, so like my favorite thing ever

Deltron 3030 by Deltron 3030
Oct 14 2025

10/10, actually so fucking good! love me some experimental hip hop

Yeti by Amon Düül II
Oct 15 2025

10/10 loooove psychedelic rock and this was just wonderful :D

Choirs Of The Eye by Kayo Dot
Oct 16 2025

avant metal is an interesting genre I would say I enjoyed this, but didn’t LOVE it not really a fan of metal but I love experimental music, so kinda a mixed bag but I mostly liked it - 7/10

Nuyorican Soul by Nuyorican Soul
Oct 17 2025

9/10 whatever specific, niche genre this is, it sounds absolutely fantastic; extremely creative and versatile

Bloody Kisses by Type O Negative
Oct 18 2025

definitely not a bad album, had a handful of songs I particularly enjoyed, but a lot of it just feels kinda filler idk, I spent most of the album kinda waiting for it to end - 6/10

Djarimirri by Gurrumul
Oct 19 2025

10/10 holy hell this is so underrated absolutely beautiful in a way you just don’t really see in any other music so exciting and invigorating, honestly awe inspiring such a special pick that I’m very happy to have heard :)

The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads by Lift To Experience
Oct 20 2025

with an album cover like that I was expecting this to be some kinda trashy country with some Kid Rock-like rap metal type shit turns out this is one of the greatest psychedelic/shoegaze rock albums I’ve ever heard in my life what a contrast with a cover that bad, and an album that good! - 10/10

Go Farther In Lightness by Gang of Youths
Oct 21 2025

9/10 the killers if they were actually good reminds me a lot of Bruce Springsteen, some refreshingly unique alternative that I can really appreciate

Sunbather by Deafheaven
Oct 22 2025

7/10 actually surprisingly cool!? you’ve got classic screamo vocals paired with like bright optimistic, almost my bloody valentine-esque instrumentals neat combo! I really dug it :)

METAL FORTH by BABYMETAL
Oct 25 2025

I’m not much of a metal fan, but I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t some of the most fun I’ve had listening to a metal album; J-Metal just hits different swear to god - 9/10

Oct 27 2025

some of the quirkiest prog I’ve heard in a WHILE, and that’s fucking saying something considering how much prog I’ve heard (and loved) absolutely adored this, even tho it has the energy of an annoying theater kid, it’s still pretty damn good - 10/10

Blade Runner by Vangelis
Oct 28 2025

10/10 one of my favorite movie soundtracks I’m so happy someone added it to the user list :)

Oct 29 2025

8/10 actually pretty good! very unique for a pop album, it’s a bit of a shame the background and aftermath of everything surrounding this, I hope Jai Paul is well now :)

Sing To God by Cardiacs
Oct 30 2025

10/10 oh cool! I was just thinking of the Cardiacs! I’ve loved them ever since the original list got me into ALMaaHatWWW this album is just as incredible, they’re such a talented band :)

Lemonade by Beyoncé
Oct 31 2025

6/10 half these songs are genuinely pretty good, and the other half are some of the most bland, generic, forgettable pop music I’ve heard in a long time the entire album sounds like it was made for divorced white moms who drink snoop dogg’s sparkling wine

Wildflowers by Tom Petty
Nov 02 2025

made the mistake of listening to Full Moon Fever before this, which was such a dry, boring album, like Paul Simon’s later career but less fun this album is drastically different actually extremely creative and likely his best work - 9/10

Lahai by Sampha
Nov 03 2025

pretty good! the comparisons to brockhampton are obvious, I enjoyed it quite a bit, tho I don’t know if I’d revisit it any time soon - 8/10

El Circo by Maldita Vecindad Y Los Hijos Del 5to. Patio
Nov 04 2025

super fun, love whatever kinda vibe this has - 9/10

One Time for All Time by 65daysofstatic
Nov 05 2025

I’m a huge fan of post rock, so of course this was everything I could want in an album - 10/10

Cleopatra by The Lumineers
Nov 06 2025

actually pretty good although every track has been overplayed to death for me since my mom is a diehard fan I also have no idea why he sings with such a strong southern accent when he’s lived in new jersey his whole life, but who am I to judge lol - 8/10

The Lonesome Crowded West by Modest Mouse
Nov 07 2025

10/10, I don’t know if I like this more than TGTAKM, but it’s still an absolutely incredible album either way

Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo
Nov 08 2025

10/10 I wish that I got this album last month (October) but it’s amazing year round haha I love just about every era of Elfman, but as a diehard post-punk fan, Oingo Boingo might be my particular favorite

The Shape Of Jazz To Come by Ornette Coleman
Nov 09 2025

10/10 it’s nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite jazz musician, but jesus christ Ornette fucking Coleman comes pretty goddamn close to #1

Ida Con Snock by Michael Hurley
Nov 10 2025

HELL YEAH! never thought I’d see a Michael Hurley album on this site! this is so fucking cool! not my favorite album of his if I’m being honest, that would probably go to Armchair Boogie, with Ling Journey being a close second but I still can’t put into words how happy this and literally every other song of his makes me - one of the greatest musicians of his generation who passed away not too long ago this album, like all others, are too good to give a rating to, tho I guess the full five stars will have to suffice - thank you Michael Hurley, for everything you’ve made <3

Norther by Ex-Easter Island Head
Nov 11 2025

9/10 a very diverse album that warms you up with some calming ambience before sending you through a lovely variety of other sounds

First Utterance by Comus
Nov 13 2025

new favorite album just dropped?! (5 years before my dad was born) I’ve always been a diehard fan of freak folk, and this truly does EVERYTHING perfectly; a flawless album that sounds WAY too modern for its time I listened to this on loop about three times in a row lol, way too fuckin good to rate

Millennium by Backstreet Boys
Nov 14 2025

lmao, I’m sorry but every song sounds the same and it’s giving “back to school shopping commercial” I get why one of those songs became such a hit, but it all sounds so dry, lifeless, and generic no hate for whoever put this album on, respect for finishing the original 1001, and if you think everyone needs to hear this then I can value your opinion even if I don’t really value the album - 4/10

Images and Words by Dream Theater
Nov 15 2025

honestly? kinda deuchey I’m all for prog rock, but prog-metal? sorry but when done right I can love it, I just really, really don’t care for this like at all - 4/10

Peasant by Richard Dawson
Nov 16 2025

I am genuinely so happy I’m getting so many avant-folk albums; these users have some great tastes! I’m thinking of submitting a psych-folk album here myself (assuming nobody else has submitted it yet) :D anyway, this is an easy 10/10

Body Talk by Robyn
Nov 17 2025

lmao, I’m sorry but this album was so weak the main list already has Janelle Monae’s fembot album that’s way better I’ll even take Britney Spear’s steam punk era over this as a Robin myself, she’s pretty far from my favorite musician I share a name with, that would have to go to Cavetown, tho I guess I’ll take her over Thicke who’s hit song is just straight up daterape - 5/10

Repetition by Unwound
Nov 18 2025

10/10 super cool post-hardcore! really really love this!

Grand Prix by Teenage Fanclub
Nov 19 2025

10/10 absolutely fantastic! but I think I prefer Sidewinder, both are amazing tho!

Fear of a Blank Planet by Porcupine Tree
Nov 20 2025

7/10 pretty enjoyable, but not totally my thing I’m all for art rock, but just can’t really get into metal so a bit of a mixed bag, but I’d say I liked it :)

Neon Golden by The Notwist
Nov 21 2025

kinda sounds like the kirkland brand Kid A, but I still fucking love this - 10/10

Tragic Kingdom by No Doubt
Nov 22 2025

8/10 love me some good ska, and Just a Girl is an absolute classic! super fun and absolutely worth being on this website :)

Boxer by The National
Nov 23 2025

7/10, kinda fun but nothing special I could take it or leave it, but I could also totally understand why someone would love this

Lateralus by TOOL
Nov 25 2025

I’m sorry but this wasn’t really for me; while I absolutely adore art rock and could appreciate the artistry that went into this, I truly loathe metal music and this had little of substance I actually liked I can really really respect the inherent talent it takes to write and perform music like this but it’s really not for me - 5/10

Shack-man by Medeski, Martin & Wood
Nov 26 2025

obligatory 10/10 for jazz, and I love their unique spin on it, super fun!

Telefone by Noname
Nov 27 2025

I heard Sundial a little while ago when it first came out and loved it, so it’s nice catching up with her older stuff (also heard Room 25) she is such a talented artist! I’m very glad her music is on the user albums list :) - 10/10

Hammersmith Odeon, London '75 by Bruce Springsteen
Nov 30 2025

incredible, some of Springsteen’s best work with the energy of a crowd behind him; the stuff of legend - 10/10

Symbolic by Death
Dec 01 2025

what did I expect, a metal band with a name as generic as “Death” makes equally unremarkable music to match - 4/10

Ruby Vroom by Soul Coughing
Dec 02 2025

actually super fun! I really liked this! far from a perfect album, but I always love dynamic indie rock, and it was really cool how sample-heavy this was! 9/10

Dec 03 2025

dude holy shit! I really need to listen to more of Montreal! I’ve only heard I Feel Safe With You, Trash before this— which I absolutely adored — and now with this album I’m a diehard fan :D 10/10

Whipped Cream & Other Delights by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass
Dec 04 2025

aw man, feels great revisiting this classic; I’m glad someone else added this here because I was seriously considering submitting this myself :) some top, TOP tier jazz; that is, when it’s not leaning into a wide variety of other equally incredible genres - wayyyy too good to rate

The Impossible Kid by Aesop Rock
Dec 05 2025

8/10 pretty good! not really my thing but I’m also not trying to put it down in any way

The Grass Is Blue by Dolly Parton
Dec 06 2025

8/10 pretty good! I’m not a huge fan of this style of country, but it is undoubtedly well made and of course, Dolly Parton is one of my favorite people ever, one of the most incredible people to ever live, I just don’t love her music as much as I love her as a person

Psychic by DARKSIDE
Dec 07 2025

this was… nice… kind of really forgettable, but I guess I enjoyed it idk, felt too filler, like I kinda forgot what I heard as soon as it was over this obviously has its audience, but it’s just not really my thing - 7/10

The Beautiful Letdown by Switchfoot
Dec 08 2025

I… I’m sorry, it’s kind of impossible for me to appreciate this it’s like a combination of like 5 bands I loathe; I really can’t put into words how much I hate Creed, Weezer, Nickelback, or any other fuckass band this sounds like really really really annoying in just about every way - 3/10

Time's Up by Living Colour
Dec 09 2025

8/10 not really my thing, but it’s definitely refreshing for a hard rock album far more unique and experimental than most of their contemporaries

Inside by Bo Burnham
Dec 10 2025

10/10 I absolutely think this album is worth being on the 1001 albums list this album (but more importantly the special itself) perfectly captures so much of the exhausting monotony and the world-ending anxiety that psychologically infected everyone’s mind to an even more contagious degree than the virus itself a beautiful piece of pandemic-art that is (thankfully) outdated in a post-covid world, but still serves as a beautiful reminder of what once was

Autobiografia by Duncan Dhu
Dec 11 2025

10/10 super fun! tho I’m a little curious why this is labeled under the “latin” genre on apple music, considering this is from Spain, but it’s fine because this slaps either way really great shit honestly :)

Fine Line by Harry Styles
Dec 12 2025

aggressively mediocre just about as “pop-filler” as it gets I often forgot I was even listening to it, it was so forgettable 2/10

Atrocity Exhibition by Danny Brown
Dec 13 2025

10/10 one of Danny Brown’s best albums absolutely tho he’s consistently delivered killer material for such a long time that “best” feels irrelevant

Blink-182 by blink-182
Dec 14 2025

6/10 kinda really mediocre as hell I guess I can appreciate them for being innovative in their genre, but when I find their genre annoying as hell, it’s hard for me to appreciate this

Mm..Food by MF DOOM
Dec 15 2025

I know I’ve been long overdue for listening to more of MF DOOM’s music, since Madvilliany has been one of my favorite rap albums for years, and it’s honestly such an amazing experience listening to more of the same genius’s work he was an incredible talent, and I hope he’s in a better place now :) 10/10

Forced Witness by Alex Cameron
Dec 16 2025

10/10 I decided to listen to all of Cameron’s albums, and it’s been very interesting seeing how he’s evolved this character as a platform for exploring toxic masculinity incredible both in concept and execution, I genuinely really love this, both the idea and the genre :D

How To Be A Human Being by Glass Animals
Dec 17 2025

10/10 I’m pretty familiar with this album already, tho I wish I’ve heard any of their other stuff because this is such a treat for the ears all these songs are so well written, with loads of ear candy throughout I couldn’t recommend this album enough :D

Ungodly Hour by Chloe x Halle
Dec 18 2025

I mean… it’s good, but I just don’t really give a shit about Beyoncé-esque R&B; like it’s REALLY not my thing again, it’s a perfectly fine album for its genre, but I really couldn’t care less about this, and I tend to rate albums off of how much I enjoy them I’ll give it a 6/10 even tho that feels a little generous

HEY WHAT by Low
Dec 19 2025

10/10 I can’t remember if I’ve heard any of Low’s albums before, but I think they’re a very unique band with an amazingly unique sound after listening to this and a few other albums happy to call myself a new fan :D

RENAISSANCE by Beyoncé
Dec 20 2025

7/10 look, I’m not the biggest Beyoncé fan, but I’ll admit this album actually had some surprisingly good production that’ had me pleasantly surprised she’s had a few songs in the past with great production (Single Ladies does NOT deserve all the hate it got, that production is fucking insane if you know music theory) but I’ve heard several projects from her that just bugged the shit out of me, so I’m glad something like this was actually nice and refreshing :)

Dec 21 2025

live every other Ween album I’ve heard, this is sonic perfection :D 10/10

Look Sharp! by Joe Jackson
Dec 22 2025

this album has such a contagious whimsy and undeniable sense of cool to it that I can’t help but adore; all the songs are so fun and well written, a new classic for me! 10/10

I Am by Earth, Wind & Fire
Dec 23 2025

10/10 I feel like you have to be suspicious of someone who doesn’t like EW&F, like that’s an automatic red flag

Separation Sunday by The Hold Steady
Dec 24 2025

9/10 really enjoyed this! kinda get R.E.M. vibes from it :)

Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars
Dec 25 2025

8/10 pretty nice indie rock, slightly repetitive but I thought it was mostly pretty well written :)

Dec 27 2025

10/10 a surprisingly great rock album, I genuinely adored this so much, quirks and all :D

Uncovered by Zamilska
Dec 28 2025

9/10 pretty great experimental electronic! very unique with lots to love hear!

Stella by Yello
Dec 29 2025

8/10 this is music for people who fuck a lot, so my asexual-ass felt rather excluded in that regard, but this was still fairly enjoyable but when I got to Oh Yeah all I could think was “oh THIS fucking song” and had a good laugh

L'Heptade by Harmonium
Dec 30 2025

10/10 holy peak! wasn’t expecting something this fun and interesting, very incredible album!

Blizzard Of Ozz by Ozzy Osbourne
Dec 31 2025

actually pretty good! I’m not crazy about Black Sabbath, but I did like this album - 8/10

Smell No Evil by Ookla The Mok
Jan 01 2026

silly in a really really great way, like Ween by way of R.E.M. fantastic album, and I’d love to hear more of their stuff! - 10/10

Thank Christ for the Bomb by The Groundhogs
Jan 03 2026

8/10 really like this! not special enough for me to give a higher rating than this, but it sure was enjoyable :)

The Simple Plan by August is Falling
Jan 08 2026

4/10 I genuinely don’t understand what the point of this was I’m sure it has some purpose in context, the wikipedia page seems to give it some purpose, but it’s really not my thing regardless

Jan 09 2026

10/10 I’m very happy with how much latin rock is on the user list for me so far, there’s so much great stuff here :D

We Like It Here by Snarky Puppy
Jan 10 2026

10/10 damn, so much fun! I’ll need to check out other Snarky Puppy albums, this was great!

Paid In Full by Eric B. & Rakim
Jan 11 2026

9/10 loved the production here :)

Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie
Jan 13 2026

8/10 loooved the production for most of these songs, but the vocals really brought it down for me I’m not a fan of that extremely dated Postal Service/Owl City style of singing; I actually didn’t realize this IS the singer of The Postal Sevice until I looked it up overall a great album, but FUCK does this sound like it was made in 2003

Nurture by Porter Robinson
Jan 14 2026

7/10 well made electronic pop that can’t really impress someone like me who can’t stand people like Marshmello not a band album by any means, lots to like here, but I have no desire to give this a relisten

Currents by Tame Impala
Jan 15 2026

10/10 big fan of everything this is inspired by, so naturally I’m gonna adore a modern rendition that maintains just as much quality

Jan 16 2026

9/10 I feel like Queen were legends at singles, they could make individual songs you could adore to this day, but their LPs were fairly boring, if that makes sense? like they make one or two REALLY amazing songs, and then surround it with mostly filler; like it’s fun, but it’s not nearly matching in quality that’s how I feel about most of the albums I e heard of theirs up until this point and have yet to be proved wrong I still fucking love Queen (I mean, yeah they’re overrated, but I think few bands actually deserve the praise they receive, in with how great they are) but yeah, really think it’s unfair to give something like this a 10/10

Come On Come On by Mary Chapin Carpenter
Jan 17 2026

7/10 slightly annoying, but mostly pretty fun I majoritively enjoyed this

Carrie & Lowell by Sufjan Stevens
Jan 18 2026

10/10 god dude, Sufjan is SO fucking good I can’t believe I’m not listening to his music all the time on loop

Songs For The Deaf by Queens Of The Stone Age
Jan 20 2026

9/10 i’ve liked it more than my first time listening to it Im glad this album gave me an excuse to give this a relisten because it really is a great album :)

The Rocky Horror Picture Show by Various Artists
Jan 21 2026

oh hell yeah! one of my favorite movie soundtracks (my #1 will always be Phantom of the Paradise) so much fucking fun! but I’d recommend watching the movie before listening to the album on its own the soundtrack is way more fun when you can actually see what’s happening while the characters are singing of course

Jan 22 2026

really damn good, a little repetitive, but that’s punk for ya, it’s nice that it keeps it short and sweet - 10/10

Oceanic by ISIS
Jan 24 2026

5/10 I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but the majority of what I was feeling hearing this was either boredom or annoyance also have no idea why this was labeled as avant/art-metal, it literally just sounds like normal metal with a slightly more open, airy, almost post-rocky sound - that’s not an avant-garde composition (like what Tool or Mr. Bungle do) that’s just a stylistic choice in how it was recorded and mixed idk, didn’t hate it, but this album wasn’t good enough to make me wanna hear more from this band

O by Damien Rice
Jan 25 2026

some really pleasant indie rock, I really loved this :D 9/10

Angel Dust by Faith No More
Jan 26 2026

as a huge fan of Mr Bungle, I really enjoyed the hell out of this! Mike Patton is a music genius and I need to check out more of his stuff - 10/10

To Be Kind by Swans
Jan 27 2026

10/10 probably one of the best albums to get people into Swans my personal favorite is probably Soundtracks for the Blind, but this one is still fucking flawless

Pulse by Pink Floyd
Jan 28 2026

definitely one of the better albums to recommend to someone who’s never heard Pink Floyd because this is a pretty great Best Of compilation (performed live of course) I love Pink Floyd so this was an easy 10/10 for me :)

Squeezing Out Sparks by Graham Parker
Jan 29 2026

8/10 I had fun, nothing extraordinary, but certainly very enjoyable

The Mantle by Agalloch
Jan 30 2026

honestly, not that bad I’m a huge fan of post rock, especially the darker stuff like Swans, and (when this wasn’t really being metal) I actually really enjoyed it for the most part the parts that were more explicitly metal did push down my enjoyment of it quite a bit, but I still found this pretty fun - 7/10

Alexisonfire by Alexisonfire
Jan 31 2026

sorry but jesus, I really don’t see the appeal of this I imagine the same person put two Alexisonfire albums in the user list, and I really don’t care for either like, it’s not bad, but I’d never care to listen to another one of their albums - 6/10

Que c'est triste Venise by Charles Aznavour
Feb 01 2026

10/10 love me some french pop also super cool that the “Hier encore” song seems to be the origins of the sample that Bad Bunny uses in MONACO - music is neat :)

Quebec by Ween
Feb 03 2026

at this point I think Ween is incapable of making a bad song, these are all so fucking good, which lines up with every other album I’ve heard from them :D 10/10

People Watching by Sam Fender
Feb 04 2026

pretty good, scratches that specific itch of “2010s alt rock that’s heavily inspired by Bruce Springsteen” that I previously enjoyed from Gang of Youths I enjoyed it but also probably wouldn’t listen to it again any time soon - 7/10

Emotional Mugger by Ty Segall
Feb 05 2026

10/10 listened to a few of his albums today (including this) I’m definitely a new die hard fan lol

Fear Inoculum by TOOL
Feb 06 2026

still don’t give a shit about TOOL, even after all the user albums I’ve had to listen to, I just don’t give a shit I wouldn’t say there bad, but when it comes to experimental metal, this stuff is mid as hell, and I’m a diehard fan of Mr. Bungle! I like Chocolate Chip Trip, the rest was pretty forgettable, I feel like I’m being generous, but I’ll give this a 6/10

AmarElo by Emicida
Feb 07 2026

10/10 loooove pretty much all music I’ve heard from Brazil, whether it’s older jazz, or in this case modern pop, it’s all incredible but it’s so weird listening to Portuguese because— as someone who’s fairly familiar with Spanish, — I *kind of* understand it, like a majority of the words I get, but the pronunciation is so different that I can barely follow it at all not to diss on Portuguese, it’s a lovely language and I’m sure I’d love to learn it one day after I better understand Spanish :)

10,000 gecs by 100 gecs
Feb 08 2026

I’m not the target demographic for this— or maybe I am? as a transfemme on estrogen, — I just don’t really care much for hyperpop but this album was consistently diverse, clearly a very creative and adventurous album that didn’t take long for me to get into it still isn’t an album I *looove*, but I sure did enjoy the heck out of this - 8/10

St. Jude by Courteeners
Feb 09 2026

enjoyable, but kind of forgettable like technically fun, but not nearly special enough to give it a relisten; it’s like Kirkland brand Arctic Monkeys - 7/10

Nightbirds by LaBelle
Feb 10 2026

obligatory 10/10 for Funk/Soul such a lively album with a contagiously fun energy; I adore every second of this!

Speak & Spell by Depeche Mode
Feb 11 2026

10/10 this album definitely has some of the best stuff I’ve heard from them, I definitely need to look into the rest of their discography tho

After Hours by The Weeknd
Feb 12 2026

7/10 I had fun, but this really wasn’t anything that special for me I’m sure people who love pop would have their minds blown by something like this, but for me it was rather insignificant I think Lana Del Ray is far more innovative in the pop genre than The Weeknd

Super Ape by The Upsetters
Feb 13 2026

hell yeah, love me some goodass reggae <3 10/10

Portishead by Portishead
Feb 15 2026

I guess it makes sense someone would add the one Portishead album that’s missing from the original 1001 I love all three of their albums, they’re such an incredibly talented band - 10/10

Geography by Tom Misch
Feb 16 2026

9/10 I didn’t really love the poppier songs here, felt too much like John Mayer, but on the jazzier songs, godDAMN I had a stank face a majority of the time (that means it’s good) I hear a bit of Chris Isaak in this, it just kinda has that distinct Jazz-pop with an indie flair kinda sound that I really do enjoy, even if the pop elements here weren’t necessarily my favorite

Erratic Cinematic by Gerry Cinnamon
Feb 17 2026

kinda good, I’d say I liked it, but it wasn’t particularly amazing or anything to write home about, just kinda, fun I guess, 7/10

Rip It Off by Times New Viking
Feb 18 2026

10/10 super fun noise rock, reminds me of early Neutral Milk Hotel

Spilt Milk by Jellyfish
Feb 20 2026

10/10 listened to both of their albums, and I really love them! so much fun, reminds me of Ween a bit

World Of Echo by Arthur Russell
Feb 21 2026

indescribably beautiful, I have a real soft spot for this John Cale-esque avant garde genre - too good to rate

Weezer by Weezer
Feb 22 2026

5/10 boring as hell, every song was forgettable, really don’t see why Weezer has such a massive fanbase, it’s all so dry and formulaic, but hey, if it’s your thing it’s your thing, this just 100% isn’t mine

Tomorrow Belongs To Me by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Feb 23 2026

super fun, really loved this one - 9/10

Suzuki by Tosca
Feb 24 2026

pretty good, nothing to special but I had fun - 7/10

Quadrophenia by The Who
Feb 25 2026

holy shit! can’t believe it’s taken me this long to get around to this one I’ve adored just about every ‘Who album I’ve heard, it’s about damn time I listen to the follow-up of Who’s Next - 10/10

BABYMETAL by BABYMETAL
Feb 26 2026

8/10 I had slightly more fun with METAL FORTH which was also submitted here, but this is still fun as hell I don’t like metal, but this is like metal for people who don’t like metal

Witness by Modern Life Is War
Feb 28 2026

kinda really fucking annoying I kinda like it conceptually, but the execution (most notably the vocals) just exhaust me indescribably - 6/10

Hand. Cannot. Erase. by Steven Wilson
Mar 01 2026

wow! never heard of Steven Wilson before, but this prog rock was fresh as hell! I need to listen to his other stuff asap! - 10/10

Mad Dogs & Englishmen by Joe Cocker
Mar 02 2026

9/10 hell yeah, love Joe Cocker! he’s got such a fun energy ; I absolutely adore this sorta soul rock <3

Diary by Sunny Day Real Estate
Mar 03 2026

8/10 pretty good! a lot of those songs were catchy as hell, but I loathe grunge and I often felt this veer into that path which mildly irked me still, overall super fun and I’m very happy I listened to it :)

A City Dressed In Dynamite by That Handsome Devil
Mar 04 2026

9/10 I love the dynamic diversity of this album! it’s so unique and energetic, like it delivers 110% of itself

Year of the Cat by Al Stewart
Mar 05 2026

10/10 just some good fucking artsy rock, really loved the hell out of this

Flower Boy by Tyler, The Creator
Mar 06 2026

I feel bad singling out one Tyler album as his “best”, but this one sure does make a great case to get people into him he’s come such a long way, and has put so much effort into reinventing his sound and entire aesthetic, but I think this is a decent point to jump into purely for accessibility as his earlier stuff can definitely be a bit daunting but yeah I love all of it, one of the most talented musicians around - 10/10

TRON: Legacy by Daft Punk
Mar 07 2026

10/10 hell yeah, Daft Punk really did good work on this one

Wild Planet by The B-52's
Mar 08 2026

it’s kind of a given that I’m gonna give a B-52’s album a 10/10

Take It From The Man by The Brian Jonestown Massacre
Mar 09 2026

10/10, I absolutely adore how good TBJM are at 60s era psychedelic rock; it has such an authentic and earnest quality to it

Songs Of A Lost World by The Cure
Mar 10 2026

10/10 wow, I’m so glad that with all the Cure albums I’ve heard, not one of them have shown a reduction in quality every single one is completely incredible

Reachin' by Digable Planets
Mar 11 2026

this actually isn’t my first time hearing this I remember when I was a lot younger I found my dad’s collection of old cassettes and listened to this on his old walkman and while this time ‘round was a far different experience, hearing it on apple music in dolby atmosphere, it’s still an incredible album to listen to no matter how you hear it the fusion of jazz with hip-hop reminds me a lot of The Low End Theory, but I really appreciate their unique approach to a familiar concept - 10/10

"Awaken, My Love!" by Childish Gambino
Mar 12 2026

10/10 one of my favorite Gambino albums genuinely such a good idea for him to say, “hey I’m gonna do my own Maggot Brain”

Auri by Auri
Mar 13 2026

8/10 not my favorite avant-folk, but I sure did have fun

Alopecia by WHY?

A Live One by Phish
Mar 15 2026

10/10 hell yeah, super fun, I love me some long, LONG ass songs

God Shuffled His Feet by Crash Test Dummies
Mar 16 2026

I’m sorry, but this just isn’t that good extremely dated and repetitive, I couldn’t really get behind this like at all - 5/10

GUTS by Olivia Rodrigo
Mar 18 2026

pretty fun, plenty of songs here I enjoyed not much of a pop fan so I couldn’t really connect to this like at all, but what I enjoyed was still pretty good - 7/10

The Monitor by Titus Andronicus
Mar 19 2026

damn this was a lot of fun very glad I got to listen to this :D 10/10

Slapstick by Slapstick
Mar 21 2026

eh, I kinda liked it at first, but the novelty of ska punk quickly became grating, and I spent most of this album’s runtime waiting for it to end - 5/10

Magnolia Electric Co. by Songs: Ohia
Mar 22 2026

oh shit! I was genuinely contemplating adding this one myself, one of my favorite indie rock albums ever words don’t do justice to how good this one is I’ll often just play Farewell Transmission and leave it running on loop all day

Operation Ivy by Operation Ivy
Mar 23 2026

7/10 kinda fun, but often got tired of the novelty, but when it hits, it sure does hit

The Decline by NOFX
Mar 24 2026

8/10 pretty good! I had fun for an 18 minute song

Mar 31 2026

pretty damn great I’m very familiar with this album, but it was super nice having an excuse to give it another listen - 10/10

Alive 2007 by Daft Punk
Apr 01 2026

I can totally understand putting this in the user list not only is it kind of a “Best Of” greatest hits album, but the unique way they mash up their songs is genuinely so cool and impressive that this is essential listening for everyone in general - 10/10

Bon Iver by Bon Iver
Apr 03 2026

10/10 I’m very familiar with Bon Iver, since my mom is a huge fan and I’ve heard most of these songs across her various playlists, but this is the first time I’ve ever sat down and actually listened to a full album of his in its entirety, and I really loved it! I’m a big fan of a folk, so of course something like this was going to be my thing <3

Silent Alarm by Bloc Party
Apr 08 2026

7/10 I liked it, tho some songs were way better than others slightly mixed bag, but mostly pretty enjoyable

Roadhouse 01 by Allan Rayman
Apr 10 2026

8/10 pretty good for a pop album not a fan of this genre, but I think this is on the better end for sure

Discipline by King Crimson
Apr 11 2026

10/10 one of my favorite king crimson albums, and they are one of my favorite prog rock bands, so this is a very easy 10/10 for me tho I will say, this album is fucking BANANAS in the context of the band, the fact that this album was made straight after Red I can’t tell you how musically jarring it is to listen to the majestic beauty of Starless, immediately followed by the wonderfully jerky Elephant Talk

Get To Heaven by Everything Everything
Apr 12 2026

9/10 pretty good alt rock, slightly annoying singing, but consistently great for everything else

Kick by INXS
Apr 13 2026

there’s those two big songs that I’ve definitely heard more times than I can count, but the rest of the album is great too! really loved this - 9/10

TEKKNO by Electric Callboy
Apr 17 2026

cringingly bad, I’m sorry but the whole time I was hearing this I was thinking of Gru saying “Wow! this is garbage, you actually like this?” I know it has its fanbase of people who love this, but all it’s giving to me is “peaked in junior high” - 3/10

Relatives in Descent by Protomartyr
Apr 20 2026

ooh hell yeah I love this kinda freaky Swans-esque music - 10/10

Broken Social Scene by Broken Social Scene
Apr 21 2026

feels a lot like Alex G, or Neutral Milk Hotel, so obviously it’s an automatic 10/10 from me :D

Loss by Mull Historical Society
Apr 24 2026

10/10 more of whatever the hell this is please

Night Drive by Chromatics
Apr 25 2026

pretty good, nothing too special, and I think the second half was way too spacey and textureless (and this is coming from a Swans fan!) but I still really enjoyed this, and loved the Kate Bush cover - 8/10

Promises by Floating Points
Apr 26 2026

10/10 what a beautiful album, I’m in love

Stretch 2 by Arca
Apr 27 2026

tried way too hard to be weird and it mostly felt like there wasn’t any point to it I’m all for weird electronica, but this was so unremarkable and try hard for me if you want good weird electronica I’d recommend Lealani this was like a 4/10 for me

Transient by Gaelle
Apr 28 2026

8/10 super fun electro r&b that definitely sounds very unique and interesting :)

August And Everything After by Counting Crows
Apr 29 2026

I’m sorry, but people actually like Counting Crows? like I’m a fan of REM and this sounds similar, but so much more obnoxious, like if Dave Matthews was the frontman; it’s more Nickelback than any band I actually like - 3/10

Shout At The Devil by Mötley Crüe
Apr 30 2026

kinda fun, but hard rock like this feels like a dime a dozen, like when you’ve heard one of these albums you’ve heard them all the Helter Skelter cover was kinda cool, albeit somewhat generic all around, kinda forgettable but still fun - 7/10

Fantasies by Metric
May 01 2026

10/10 a refreshingly different kinda alt rock album that I truly loved the entire time :)

Puzzle by Biffy Clyro
May 02 2026

honestly this was super long and annoying couldn’t really get into it at all ngl - 5/10

May 03 2026

look, I really wanna get into this as a diehard Neutral Milk Hotel fan, this does have a lot going for it that I genuinely love but there’s something about the attitude and execution that feels so gross and deuchy, like if Rivers Cuomo was the frontman it just screams “Nice Guy” male manipulator music that kinda really gives me the ick I’m gonna give this a 6/10 because I want to love it, but the personality is just so repulsive, idk, not terrible, but I’m incapable of giving this any higher than a 6 :/

Crimson by Edge Of Sanity
May 04 2026

kinda bullshit tbh just super loud and annoying; I can’t stand death metal and this checks all the boxes - 4/10

Is Ellipsis by Psyche Origami
May 05 2026

9/10 really good retro hip-hop sounds straight out of the 80s despite when it was made :)

Crystal Castles by Crystal Castles
May 06 2026

I’ve been a fan of Crystal Castles for a while, and I definitely think this is their strongest album like I consistently enjoy all their works, but I think this is the strongest in melody and overall composition not saying it goes downhill from here, still great, just a lil less this is a 10/10 ofc

Cracker Island by Gorillaz
May 08 2026

such a great album, I’m really glad a user decided to highlight this Gorillaz album because it really is worth your time :D - 9/10

Sound Awake by Karnivool
May 10 2026

I love prog, but couldn’t care less about metal, and this was only partly engaging for me - 6/10

Come And Get It by Rachel Stevens
May 12 2026

actually pretty fun! I’m not the most nostalgic for this era of pop, but it does make for a nice listen :) 8/10

May 13 2026

obviously an easy 10/10 for me definitely a lot more on the post-punky side compared to most of their discography, but still fantastic

Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon
May 15 2026

10/10 I love this kinda distinct style of genre I think Paul Williams is my personal favorite at this, but Warren Zevon sure is a hell of a talent

The Great Outdoors Jam by Pigeons Playing Ping Pong
May 18 2026

10/10 man I looooove jazz fusion, and this hit all the right feels for me :D reminds me quite a bit of Herbie Hancock; I’ll have to listen to PPPP’s other work soon!

Save Rock And Roll by Fall Out Boy
May 19 2026

I loathe this era of music with a burning passion everything from Imagine Dragons to Maroon 5 to Panic at the Disco just sounds like the same obnoxious millennial bullshit they make hype songs for white middle class soccer moms and there’s really nothing here even remotely enjoyable for me - 2/10

Life Goes On by Carla Bley
May 21 2026

really really beautiful - 10/10

Jaco Pastorius by Jaco Pastorius
May 23 2026

10/10 I’ve heard about how legendary Jaco is for the bass, but I had no idea he was making amazing art-jazz too! that’s fucking awesome!

We Rock Hard by Freestylers
May 25 2026

ooh, really fun breakbeat! it felt a little dragged out, but it was still mostly enjoyable - 8/10

May 26 2026

some of the better reggae I’ve heard kinda vaguely reminds me of Gorillaz’ Clint Eastwood an obvious 10/10 for me :)

Ultra Blue by Hikaru Utada
May 27 2026

I love the variety of the songs, like lots of diversity here, but it didn’t always land for me, still did most of the time tho - 8/10

Nonagon Infinity by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
May 28 2026

obligatory 10/10 for King Gizzard

Toxicity by System Of A Down
May 29 2026

May 30 2026

surprisingly fun! I’m not much of an EDM fan, but this was just too groovy not to like - 8/10

The Lioness by Songs: Ohia
Jun 06 2026

oh fun! I was literally listening to Ohia earlier this morning I kinda feel bad that the only album I’ve been listening to is Magnolia Electric Co. because all their stuff is incredible both before that album, and when they made a return with this :) obvious 10/10

Jun 07 2026

pretty fun, I think the lore is cool while I don’t love the metal, and I think singer is kind of annoying, I still think it has its positives - 7/10

Not Animal by Margot & The Nuclear So And So's
Jun 09 2026

I love this kind of indie stuff :) 9/10

Mingus Ah Um by Charles Mingus
Jun 11 2026

man Mingus was on a whole other level his unique take on Jazz really scratches that itch for me - 10/10

Gordon by Barenaked Ladies
Jun 12 2026

I guess I’d describe BNL as more fun than Weezer, but less fun than Ween it kinda fits in with that whole scene/genre - and while it’s not nearly as good as Ween, this is a hell of a lot better than any of Weezer’s bullshit - 9/10

Script Of The Bridge by The Chameleons
Jun 13 2026

I looooove The Chameleons and while Strange Times is my favorite, this album is incredible too - 10/10

Re by Café Tacvba

Ants From Up There by Black Country, New Road
Jun 17 2026

10/10 I was meaning to give this one a relisten, thank you to whoever submitted this album to give me an excuse to do so :)

Speak for Yourself by Imogen Heap
Jun 18 2026

I knew nothing about this album going into it just enjoying some pretty fun, fairly artsy electro-pop until I get to Hide and Seek and get fucking FLASHBANGED by 15 ridiculously iconic seconds of “Mmm whatcha sayyyy” it’s so funny how that came out of fucking nowhere, but the rest of the song, as well as the album as a whole was genuinely so lovely - 10/10

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by Neutral Milk Hotel
Jun 19 2026

yeah I’ll listen to this album for the fucking billionth time, why not? I also relistened to the rest of their discography on streaming services, and their demos I keep on my Plex server such an incredible band, I love them with all my heart this album is WAY too good to rate lmao

Untrue by Burial
Jun 23 2026

pretty good! very unique and interesting :) 8/10

Jun 24 2026

holy hell this was good I tend to feel pretty hit or miss with brit pop, but this was definitely way closer to the experimental Blur style, than the more mediocre Oasis stuff 10/10

II by Espers
Jun 25 2026

fuck yeah! I’m familiar with this, but it’s so nice giving it a relisten! I love this kinda prog-folk! - 10/10

Zach Bryan by Zach Bryan
Jun 26 2026

holy shit! I’ve had Zach Bryan on my radar for a while but always put it off because I’m not a huge country fan (at least post-9/11 when it went full republican) but this was actually so amazing! I listened to this and The Great American Bar Scene twice all the way through and love them both so much and can’t wait to hear the rest of his work! - 10/10
