It has some highlights but is definitely weaker than Elephant and White Blood Cells. Still — the White Stripes will always have a high floor!

Absolute masterpiece. One of the pinnacles of British rock.

Undeniable highlights but VERY bloated

Probably the weakest of the 3 90s Massive albums, but still really solid. The title track is absolutely gorgeous

It’s the White Album for Gen X. Sure, it’s a little bloated, but it’s shocking how little filler there is for a 2 HOUR ALBUM. Mid 90s Billy Corgan really had the juice

A masterpiece. Legitimately a top-10 album of all time for me. Catch me on the right day and I’d call it the greatest British album ever made.

I like the songs individually, but as a 50+ minute listen it gets a bit repetitive tbh.

Half interesting sophisti-pop/new wave, half super bland yuppie music (minus the bulletproof hooks of something like “Valerie” or “Higher Love”)

I love Bjork’s 90s albums, but this kind of just felt like a slog for me. Sorry — I just don’t have the patience for an album of 6+ minute ballads with no hooks!

Interesting but not remotely entertaining for me

It’s second-tier REM for sure, but that’s still better than most bands’ top tier! A great transitional work from their obtuse jangly 80s stuff to their more widescreen 90s albums. (Also, “Stand” is a banger and I won’t accept any slander)

Surprised I didn’t love this, since I’m a big Blur fan. But idk…it was maybe a bit *too* pastoral and gentle for me. Good songwriting though!
