This is utterly bizarre but good, I think!

I mean, it's fine, but not outstanding - some decent rock/pop songs, but generally middle of the road on an album.

It sounds like the cover of the album looks.

Enjoyed it, but after a while felt it kind of blended into the background so as to become less memorable.

Experimental noise - if that's what you're in the mood for then it's good, otherwise it tends to blend in to the background.

Whaaaaoooow! WHaaaaa!! Whaaaaooooow! Lots of classic songs on here, good example of what is I guess classic '60s rock and roll. Enjoyed the one about strychnine

I've owned this album for years without ever having listened to it. And now it can go back to collecting dust. Not one for me.

Solid middle for me - the slight majority of songs were exceptional at creating dark gothic atmospheres and really drew me in. Others very much felt like filler material, and as such I didn't feel as drawn in as I'd hope to be.

Ignoring completely the whole theme and story that goes into this concept album, I found it more enoyable than I'd have thought. The music and orchestral arrangements are exceptional, and were it an instrumental I might have this more frequently in my rotation. The singing (speaking, really) less so - adding that in was interesting to a point, but in the end I found a breathy French man's heavy talking to wear a bit thin, even given how short this album is. I'm glad I listened to it as part of this project, however I probably wouldn't pick this up again.

Starts to sound samey and less interesting after a while. Probably a classic in its time, but feels like a classic I can be aware of and not necessarily engage with.

It's ok, but not by far a life-changing album that I'd hold onto beyond this listen.

Better than I'd expected, but a lot of noodling A Venture - I can't tell if I like it or loathe it. Very sort of bouncy. Ok - didn't hate it, but wouldn't actively seek it out unless I'm looking to explain to someone what "prog" is.

Solid drums. Strong story songwriting with a hint of sadness and emptiness that comes with deindustrializtation and the like. Glory days is a lot sadder than I'd remembered I'd expected not to like this as much as I did, so likely a solid 4 / 5.

I like the idea of what this album should be more than actually listening to it. It's promising to be called a Proto-Zeppelin and have such strong players on the album (and Rod Stewart as well). However, it didn't really capture me beyond "meh". After a few tracks I found it sort of drifting into background noise, and no longer really grabbing my attention. I'm glad to have listened to it, probably would not seek it out again though.

Very good example of thrash metal - the growls, the wails, the pounding drums, lots of satanic allusions and imagery. It's good if you're in the mood for it, which I unfortunately was not. Really just a lot of pounding that I couldn't connect with.

Solidly enjoy this album. One for the good headphones.

I can see how later bands could be influenced by this, however this personally didn't do much for me.

This is a good example of midcentury songwriting and vocals. It's easy to listen to. That being said, I'm not into this vibe at all, and don't really have the patience to listen to 73 tracks of it.

Solid 4 - enjoyed this more than I thought I would. RIP Dolly

Solid live recording if you want to be immersed in Van Morrison for three and a half hours.

I get that this is in essence a satirical view on the American South, and musically it tells this story well enough. It feels like an upbeat poppy piano sound that I'm sure people would have interpreted as happy and optimistic, at least until they hear the lyrics. It's a concept album though at its heart, and if we're using a five rating as an album I'd seek out frequently and add to my collection, this one wouldn't be it for me. I enjoyed listening to it as a concept, but I'm happy to let this one go.

Like a rolling stone is a classic. The rest of this album, less so. I'm currently struggling to get through Ballad of a Thin Man, and after a while this took on the air of the fifth or sixth room at an art gallery: you get the gist and no longer need to see the whole thing. Personal enjoyment - 2/5 - would only seek out if specifically looking for a particular track Does it belong on this list - 5/5
