Funky and almost stereotypically indie. Didn't blow me away, but I'm enjoying it. Kinda Lukáš Novotný medieval fantasy vibes and quite gospely. Will come back to it again to form a more profound opinion. Overall though from my first 1.5 listens a solid 7/10.
Amazing, insanely influential that I personally really enjoyed. Ofc Iggy Pop and Velvet Underground type style characteristic of that era that I am quite fond of. Certainly will listen again and I'm quite surprised that I didn't properly know/listen to it before. 9/10 for this genre. You just can't go wrong.
Certainly interesting, but not really something I'd actively listen to very often. The first part is relatively tradicional while the secons part is very focused on instrumentals and repeating spacey melodies with sometimes a sort of an eearie vibe. Doesn't really focus on vocals and aims to create more of an ambient. Could be used as interesting background music though. A song that stands out the most to me is definitely Speed of Light. Nice spacey bowie-like experimental sound. Idk though if won't get bored of it quite fast as it is pretty repetitive. Sound and Vison isn't too bad either. Not sure that I'll return much to this album though, but good to know. 5/10
Having studied now its immense popularity, I am quite surprised i didn't know this album nor the artists before. Nice acousticy sound focused a lot on the vocals. Generally a chill album that I wouldn't necessarily listen to otherwise because it doesn't really hit much on the first listen. But only gets better as you listen more. So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright kinda reminds me of that last ILYHB song in the second album. Enjoyed 7/10
I really love this album. Progressive rock combing what rock was built upon in a very interesting way with genres like jazz, classical compositions and more. Really unique and I'm a fan of almost every track. Interesting how Kanye sampled the 21st Century Schizoid man in "POWER." My favorite tracks: 21st Century Schizoid Man, Epitaph, The Court Of The Crimson King.
The only thing that I could somehow critique is that the length of each track is usually quite extensive, but it also gives it a vibe. Moonchild for example stands at 12min with the majority of the time occupied by very contemporary minimalist jazz which might not be for everyone, but I can see it's charm.
Overall really enjoyed it. 8/10
Album is very instrumental made as a soundtrack to a movie. So it's good to put on in the background, but not really for active listening that much. Includes electronic and jazzy elements and jazz I do quite enjoy as of late. "Playground Love" is a big vibe. Album cover is also aesthtically pleasing, nice art noveau vibe. As a whole though it didn't really blow me away. Still, I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it. Will listen again. 6/10.
A big meh from me. Most of it was just boring to me. Not really personally a big fan of this genre in general. But Girls & Boys I did quite enjoy though. Other than that it just didn't really hit for me. Too british 🇬🇧☕️
3/10
Cool woman sang mix of elivis presley, johnny cash, sinatra, marty robbins etc. Did enjoy. For the genre a 7/10
Really cool album. Funky, disco, feel good, fills you up with energy all with the nice afroamerican vibe with the choirs and everything. Pretty good to put on the background but also active listening. Favorites so far: He's the Greatest Dancer, Thninking of You, We Are Family. Thinking of You also has that tatranska lomnica riff. ;) Generally a real nice positive danceable album to make the good moments even better. For what it is 9/10
Lying on the white couch in Průhonice hearing the indistinct chatter of the adults at the Thanksgiving table across the room. The room is filled with a rich wood-scented smell of antique furniture and of food. An old TV next to a carved oriental-themed dresser with rural imagery shines with a dim blue retro light as the DVD symbol keeps bouncing off the sides of the screen. Wrapped up in a fur blanket I lay on the side of the couch next to a wall socket holding my tattered cable waiting for my phone to charge. Filip comes to check up on the tv every once in a while from whiches speakers there comes music, calm, soothing. Uneaten food rests on the table as I slowly fall asleep to wake up on the backseats of the car turning into our street with the orange glowing streetlights pleasantly shining into my eyes. I get carried to bed, covered by a blanket and I drift off once again. Life is simple, good.
9/10 as background. Evokes dreams and memories
Wasn't really in the mood for this album today. The voice of the singer seemed quite obnoxious and everything just too loud. I'm not totally giving up on this album though. Might give a shot sometime else, but I'm generally not such a big fan of such female low loud cigaretty kind of singing voices. Not really for me atm.
So far a 6/10
A lot of war themes. Focused on the stories it tells with the lyrics. Nice musical aspect as well. Less popular than I expected an album on this list to be, but I enjoyed it. Will listen more to form a better opinion, but first impressions are pretty good. Has just enough Britishness for it not to be too overwhelming, much better than Blur. From seeing their discography this one doesn't seem to be one of their most successful so I'll give a try with the other ones sometime as well. Feel a bit overwhelmed though with all the music to listen to rn lol. In general pretty good, didn't completely blow away as of now, but good :)
7/10
Not bad, but i vibed more with others. Has a dark gothic atmosphere. Could get better after a few more listens. Still, I liked others more 5/10.
Not bad, kinda Christmasy and fallout diamond city radio playlist vibes, but what don't get is why they chose specifically this one random album out of all of her extensive discography filled with much bigger hits than this. Still not too bad. It has a nice chill athmosphere, but it didn't blow me away. Good to know about this artist's existence now. 6/10
A nice change of pace from the other albums we've seen so far. Nice old-school rap which ,even though i prefer the more contemporary style, I enjoyed. Ms Jackson is an absolute classic didn't know it was from them. 7.5/10
Definitely heard of laibach before, but never listened. Really cool industrial music similar to rammstein. Read up on them a little bit and their history and concepts are also quite interesting. Some of the songs are bit too repetitive for my taste but overall I enjoyed it. Feel like child laborer in during the industrial revolution listening to this. 😋 Will listen again. 8/10
Liked it. Sinatra christmasy 60s vibes. Nice old retro jazzy music. Ray is also amongst people that i probably should've known before. Bye bye love I've already heard in the Simon & Garfunkel album. For sure adding this album to my retro playlist. 7/10
Enjoyed. Nice energetic retro 80s sound. Duran duran is also now amongst the band i'm glad I got to know through this generator. Didn't know they were that influential. Haven't properly listened to all the tracks yet, but Rio is so far my favorite from the album. 8/10
Don't like it. This man and this style have simply been eternally connected with Disney movies. Even though there might reside some quality in there, the whole album doesn't really catch my interest. It all sounds the same, boring, cartoonish, and goofy. Don't really understand why this man is on the list to begin with. I find his voice also pretty annoying. Like don't get me wrong, nothing bad with returning to your childhood, but this just isn't the way for me. Couldn't listen more than once. 3/10
First impressions weren't as good. Thought it was just another stale blur type britpop album, but actually not that bad. I'm kinda starting to like it. Not giving up on it yet. 6.5/10
Ok. Didn't listen to it all, but I didn't really repel me or blow me away. The singing voice sometimes kinda reminded me of Janis Joplin which I wasn't really a big fan of.
6/10
After a streak of meh albums lately, this one is a nice refreshment. It is very 2000s djy. A hefty amount of electronic elements, samples and repeating melodies. I liked it. But the question still remains. Is he a fatboy or is he slim? 7/10.
Haven't listened enough to form a more profound opinion, but overall I enjoyed it. Good to know John Cale know. As the founder of the Velvet Underground, he definitely belongs to the list of music essentials. Before listening to the album I was a bit skeptical whether it's gonna be another flop, but I was pleasantly surprised. 7/10
The most contemporary one from the one's we've seen so far and it's a nice genre refreshment after all the rock lately. It's not bad, but the problem is that it just sounds like I've heard it thousand times before. It's the kind of modern formulaic big producer type of sound, therefore it just feels a bit dry and it lacks that spark for me. Feels like I'd hear these songs in Zara. Lorde is certainly a talented singer and good song writer, but from what I heard this specific album from her just doesn't hit very much. I'll give it another chance in the future, but I don't have high hopes. On the other hand some songs aren't bad. Hard Feelings/Loveless has some nice qualities. I like the industrial metalic scraping sounds in the middle of the song. Also Kudos for the album cover though. Very visually pleasing with the painted style and vibrant colors. 🤗 Would look nice in my liked songs if I actually liked it... 6/10
Can't go wrong with Stevie Wonder. He's the king of soul. Haven't properly listened to all of it just yet, but I will.
Nice dreamy indie vibe. The guitar especially screams indie. I like it even though I'm yet to form a more profound opinion.
Not bad, some of the songs are bit a too much of generic rock, but some are absolute bangers and have really good parts. It seems by african music as well giving at time a průhonice vibe again. A distinct one to the Pink Moon vibe though. The songs are generally quite long, but that doesn't personally bother me. Though I am still to form a better opinion with time, as of now I liked it overall. 7.5/10, because some parts are just *muah*💋
Also know what sabbath means now.
Nice jazzy blues. Can't go wrong with that. Good to have Muddy Waters on the radar now.
8/10
Already knew this one for some time. Moby is just such a vibe and I'm not at all surprised he's in this list. It's great trippy experimentative music and it's just so distinct and original. He'll always have place in my heart. Keep on bringing great music like this! 9/10
Very intriguing from what i heard so far. This mans whole take on music and his vast and diverse discography are truly remarkable. The album cover is really cool as well. Haven't properly listened it all yet, but generally I like it quite a bit. 8/10
Nice retro 60s vibe. Not my absolute favorite, but I enjoyed it. 7/10
Mega banger!! An insane mix of so many genres. Punk, ska, reggae, soul, funk, blues, you got it all. Some of the bass line so flea like. It's so creative and so diverse. Hats off. 9/10
Pretty good. profound opinion not created yet, but I like it. It has this nice elvisy, Memphis/Nashville sound.
Good album. Both sound and lyrics. Combines a wide range of insturments genres. Rock, jazz, blues, country etc. It doesn't feel formulaic and has its own charm.
I really don't understand the people here that leave a bad review or don't even bother to listen to the stuff that Kanye has made just because of the recent events concerning him. Yes, the path that he took on now is nothing short of horrendous, but I don't think so that it should be a reason to completely disregard his very rich and artistically valuable legacy. There is no doubt that Kanye is an extremely talented artist. Still, he unfortunately does suffer from a mental illness which can be often uncontrollable. So though it technically, physically, might the same person now, on a personal level I'd dare to say he's completely different person. So in this case I think people should learn to separate art from the artist and not just denounce all of the wonderful work this man has done over his long career because of who he's become now. Understand that nothing is ever black and white.
Really good album. Glad this app made me listen to all of it. 5/5
Never really listened to Nirvana much, but I understood their appeal. After making myself sit through the whole album, I'm pleasantly surprised and might start delving into their music a little more. They definitely have their own very unique aesthetic that though isn't my absolute favorite, has it's own charm. 4/5
They also have a cool motion graphic visualizer ;)
Nice country/rock album. Haven't listened enough yet, but so far I'm liking what I'm hearing. It does country in a pleasant and tasteful way.
Holly and jolly. Love the Phil Spectors emotional monologue at the end of the album.
Pretty good country. But god damn, this man's numbers on this album on spotify are almost like dita hanzelova lmao
Didn't listen much. Sound too much like just generic uninspired rock
Did not listen to it fully today, but i think it doesn't sound bad. Will return
One of my favorite punk albums I've listened to so far. It's kind of modern with it's boldness, energy and catchiness, all in that cool 90s style. Love how it strays from the norm with a women majority line up. Overall it's just a nice breath of fresh air. Really liked it and will come back again.
Not bad from what i heard.
It is a lot of loud noises and some of the tracks didn't really blow away as of now, but overall I like the punky aggressive atmosphere the album has. It's not my favorite and I'd say in some parts it feels a little long, but overall not bad. Theresa's Sound World is kind of a vibe.
At first I didn't even want to listen to the album, because it felt like from the album cover it's just gonna be another swingy, jazzy, sinatraesque old record which I wasn't really in the mood for at the moment. But I'm really glad I did listen. They are great french chansonos with so much artistry and energy packed into them. Amsterdam, for example, is just amazing in how much of a sense of fierceness, life, but at the same time composure it conveys. With this record you often don't need to even understand the language for its strong emotion to get conveyed either way. Really liked it 8/10
The man in his prime. He's truly talented and the album is a classic. I'd always hear him passively from my environment without much active listening so I'm glad this app made me slow down and look at his work closer.
Enjoy their sound. Also cool that there are women bands in this genre of music as well.
In general I like this album. It has a lot of energy and it's overall good metal. Still, I prefer Rammstein because just german sound more fitting to me in this genre. At some parts the english feels just a little too corny, a bit like like Linkin Park sometimes. I will surely delve a bit more into slipknots music after this, cuz they're for sure influential af. Wouldn't really take the praise as far as their overly presumptuous spotify description states. 7/10
Certainly a very important and influential album and there's no doubt it should be on this list. I enjoyed many of the tracks and will be coming back to it for sure. It's not necessarily my absolute favorite and I sometimes find the theme of love in the album a little excessive, but other than I think that it's a very important piece of art and I enjoyed it for the most part. 7/10
An absolute classic filled with hit after hit. Certainly among the essential albums and I'm glad this app put ABBA on my radar more. Will for sure listen to more.
8/10
Interesting ambient album. Spacey vibes
Makes feel like I'm walking through the dusty post-apocalyptic fallout wasteland, killing mutants on my way to the glorious Diamond City from whose radio station are coming these wonderful tunes, the broadcast being interrupted here and there a by timid broadcast host, who is due to become the biggest desert's showman very soon. Only if he knew.
This type of souly blues just screams retro US. Love it!
Not bad, an interesting fuse of genres and instruments with nice lyrics, but the overall sound of the album, which is ultimately the thing that makes me want the listen to the piece of music, feels a little all over the place, unclear, not really catchy apart from few tracks like the Immigrant Song. Maybe it's because I've listened to it only two times so far so I am not distinguishing the songs much from the other, but generally the album didn't really hit much for me. It was okay, but not really something I'd willingly choose to listen much right now.
6/10
Nice funky soul music. I also now acknowledge this man's insane influence on the music world and industry. Overall the album is not bad, but I feel like I'd need to listen more for it to hit properly. 7/10
Elvis is a rock n' roll classic. Texts are love love and love. Nothing against it though. Was an enjoyable listen and I'll start looking into Elvis a little more now. 8/10
Elton John is interesting and without a doubt extremely influential. Never really listened to his music much and I've yet to find a big like for the sound he has, but overall not bad. I think with time I might actually start enjoying his music more so I'm glad for this recommendation. 7/10
A really chill simple minimalistic album I've already known before. It's kind of drowsy vibe is in a way it's kind of trippy and dreamy. Was really easy falling asleep to the gentle melodies. I understand why some people might not particularly enjoy this type of music and it's minimalism, but I personally really like it. Intro and Crystalized are the classics, but the rest is really nice as well. 9/10
Really cool lively mix of rock and blues. Enjoyed
Haven't listened enough yet, but pretty cool. Nice and energetic. Bit of mixed feelings about Jack White's voice sometimes, but overall I enjoyed it.
Cool album, didn't know about this one from Pink Floyd. Psychedelic and experimental. Not really at the same level as their Dark Side Of The Moon and The Wall, but still very nice. Can't go wrong with trippy spacey vibes with me. Will listen more 8/10
Don't really enjoy this kind of David Bowie. Among his vast and diverse discorgraphy I enjoy his other albums more. The songs in this album seem to me really long, repetitive and boringly similar to one another. I can appreciate the artistry and maybe I haven't yet reached the point to enjoy or understand this type of music and with time this may be subject to change, but for now it just feels like a chore to listen to.
4/10
Don't have anything anything to criticize about this albums really. It's simply extraordinary. From the genially written hitting poetic, but also raw, lyrics, the insane production giving it a really polished feel to the masterful, educated and tastful blend of music genres that takes inspiration from and honors a wide range of influential pieces of the history of music and many other aspects that make this a true piece of art. I also really like how the album works as a cohorent piece of music that works with the fact that it's supposed to be listened to as a one piece with really nice song transitions and interludes. It's truly a wonderful album that I will for sure be coming back to in the future. 9/10
Kinda meh. Really repetitive and without the soul that You've Come A Long Way Baby has. Some of the songs are ok, but overall the albums doesn't really stand out to me much. 6/10
Micheal Jackson cool. Yet to really find a burning passion for him, but I guess that will with time. Or it won't.
A lot of the song are real classics on here. Enjoyed
7/10
Really cool album, really screams USA. Kind of a Lou Reed vibe at points. This won't be missing in my US road trip playlist when we set out on a journey again. 8/10
This album has very pleasantly surprised me. Some of the songs are absolute bangers. The lyrics are very well written, eloquent, and at times very beautifully poetic. The sound is a nice blend of old and new, lively, quite catchy and the guy's voice I just love. It just makes me feel things. Big thumbs up.
Favorites: "First Of The Gang To Die" and "I Have Forgiven Jesus." But all of them are good. 8/10
After reading some of the other reviews I noticed that Morrissey seems to have obtained a negative reputation. Still, I'm choosing to separate the artist from the art here as you usually should. The music's good.
Pleasantly surprised by this album. An intriguing mix of British rock and reggae that I never thought I would see together. It's certainly very original in this aspect and it seems like it takes the best out of both worlds. Not too British. 🇬🇧☕ Not too Jamaican. 🇯🇲 🍃(Though, unlike British, I doubt there is something as too Jamaican)
The whole vibe of the album was also accompanied by this adequate amount of goofiness. I like. 7.5/10
Like it, nice harmonica and Bob Dylan in general is a vibe.
Goes hard. A great hip-hop album with a nice old-school feel. Funky, groovy and overall just good. If You Only Knew my favorite so far. The flute and piano just add a really cool touch. Will listen more. 7.7/10
Good covers, good singing, good sound, good album. Good
Some of the songs are not bad, but this kind of pop is not really much of my jam.
Adele is a classic, but I haven't listened to her in years. It's nice to bring her back to my radar again. Not my absolute favorite type of music, but certainly important and influential. 7/10
Esoteric incense-smelling beepy boopy short 2 track album that would send you to a different dimension while stoned. Doesn't necessarily feel like a mere random jumble of sounds and instruments, but it certainly isn't conventional. A peculiar piece to add to my musical collection, which might come in handy in the time of future need.
I'm growing gradually fonder of Nirvana the more I listen to them. Big thumbs up. Will listen again and it sounds incredible for being live + the interlude comentaries from Kobain really add a nice charm to it. 8.7/10
Real vibe. Nice old school rap and some of the flows are fr crazy.
Goofy ahh record that sounds like a soundtrack of some of some antique animated movie from the start of the digital age that I'd find on a dusty forgotten CD at the back of a mother's CD shelf. Certainly evokes a certain peculiar nostalgic feeling, but I'd need to be in a very specfic mood to find this truly enjoyable. For now it just gives me this vibe of frivolous superficial detachment from reality. Naive and oblivious. I wouldn't really say I like it very much + the guy's voice sort of reminds me of that of Randy Newman, who I find extremely irritating.
Not really my jam, but it could be worse and it's certainly an interesting music branch to know about, so I'll give it 2 stars at least.
The John Cage inspiration is really apparent in this one. Does get a bit a bit redundant after while though.
Good rock, will listen more.
Blur actually pleasantly surprised me with this one. Tracks like For Tomorrow, Chemical World, Miss America, Oily Water and more I actually really enjoyed. The ending part of Oily Water is nice and tripy and I like it. Some of the tracks are also a bit meh, but my biggest complaint about the album is its fucking length. Give me a condensed experience of the best you have to offer, not a 2h double album. I'm just not capable of listening to 2h of britpop without it getting really boring around the halfway point. Just dose it a little better. Other than that a thumbs up. 7/10
I'm simply unable to listen to this mush of redundant computer beeps and boops for 1h 14min. Some catchy melodies of the more popular songs are at first quite pleasant, but most of the time overstay their welcome. Cannot entirely judge this album for now as I haven't listened to its entirety, but enjoy a different kind of beep boop more. So I'll give it a neutral 5,5/10
Very enjoyable exotic sounding folky singer-songwriter album. In a way a pleasent mix of kiltro and nick drake. The soothing loose string guitar sound with the singer's crooning voice is simply a delicious meal for my ears. Wouldn't necessarily say it's as good Nick Drake or Kiltro, but still a big thumbs up. 8.7/10
Nice live album. Funky souly.
A very pleasant techno/electronica album. Fitting for listening to as background, but some of the tracks straigh up ball. My favorite so far is "Sad but True" with the cool rhythmic beeps and the Moby-esque and Massive Attack-esque vocals throughout. Though it stays loyal to its overall theme the album in my opinion doesn't lack diversity either. It could be a little boring to listen when you're not feeling the vibe, but if you do it's definitely a good choice. Way better than Daft Punk imo. Thumbs up 7.5/10
Quality album. Led Zeppelin is not my absolute favorite in the music world, but I totally respect their craft. A nice blend of rock and blues at times. This band is truly an essential one and I do plan to come back to it in the future, though probably not as often as to some other albums. 7.4/10
Love this album so much. It doesn't miss anywhere at any point for me. Insane lyrics, revolutionary experimental sound, and Kanye just shows his musical and artistic genius the most out of all his albums here imo. Simply Kanye at his apex and the direction he's decided to take his persona lately I find irrelevant here. Can't give it any less than 9.5/10. Man's paved a completely new path in music with this one.
I enjoyed this album very much. It's mellow tranquility just totally hits the spot. Glad to have it in my album collection now. For the genre and what it is this is one resides on the peak.
Some track are pretty cool, but it was too boring to listen to whole
It indeed is kinda depeche mody. Idk why, but it also has a bit of elton john vibe to it. Who knows, maybe I'm crazin'
Likelike
Couldn't be more monotone and lifeless. Not the best work of Kraftwerk
Something totally unlike anything I've heard before. It often has a very psychedelic air with parts totally go out of convention. At first listen one does not really understand what all of it means. The sounds, the unintelligible icelandic and I suppose at times gibberish vocals, everything is kind of strange. But it does has this undistinct charm to it and produces a specific feeling that no other album has managed to provoke in me before.
It's weird, but I kind of like it. 7.5/10
Didn't really find much interesting about it so far. Perhaps I I'll try listening to more Lana Del Rey stuff to properly find what all the fuss around her is about. I mean it's okay, but a lil too homogenous and bland for me. It lacks some of that sauce
Really pleasant, cool writing and narrative.
Very pleasently surprised. Great, unique, chill and genre breaking album. Finding new stuff like this is exactly why I love this album generator.
Surprising haunting athmosphere. Nick makes me feel tingles ☺️
Quite pleasantly surprised. A very fun way to rock
This album's like a box of chocolates. Never know what style you're gonna get
Really groovy and uplifting oldschool hiphop. The rhythm gets the body goin'! Thoroughly enjoyed. 🤗
Loud british noise. Not my jam
Love dire straits, and especially this album. It's got a unique and very pleasing soundscape that only the have, and it fits very well into my music taste. Sultans of swing is an absolute classic also.
Too dragged out, monotonous and repetitive for my taste, atleast from my so far superficial listening.
Nick drakey Roger Fakhéry british folk with amazing guitar soundscapes. Right in my taste
Such a dancable funky groove. Bass lines also top tier. Takes me back to the good old days of discussing music with my good old pal kazu, and watching the virtual insanity videoclip, kazu passionately explaining the technique how it was filmed. Love it 🤗
An absolute classic and peak of music. It's so mature, floydesque and the first album through which I got introduced to Pink Floyd. This made me go and rewatch the movie to remind myself of what a masterpiece this unique piece of cinematography is. I'm really glad this album popped up here.
Meh, not for me. Very minimalistic and not reall one of john lenons best works imo
Very much disco and very much groovy
