Popular Reviews

Queen's problem is that their good songs are overplayed and their deep cuts are an embarrassment to music.

Kind Of Blue by Miles Davis
Feb 22 2024

Absolutely incredible vibes for checking your email first thing in the morning... I feel cured.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Feb 23 2024

Not my favourite of theirs, but still better than most

Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots by The Flaming Lips
Feb 26 2024

This is a great example of how one can recognize important, ground-breaking, and/or impressive art but not actually enjoy it as consumer of art.

Tusk by Fleetwood Mac
Feb 28 2024

Christ Almighty you can't be serious. This album should only be considered important because it's a lesson in why you don't want to make art without limits. One star for the one good song ("Tusks").

Arrival by ABBA
Mar 05 2024

There should be an exception to the "no greatest hits complications" rule in album rankings for ABBA. Not than any of their good songs were on this one...

Blur by Blur
Mar 06 2024

There's certainly good stuff here but a lot of it sounds like a demo. Doesn't hit the same highs as PARKLIFE.

Junkyard by The Birthday Party
Mar 13 2024

What I imagine chronic anxiety feels like.

Skylarking by XTC
Mar 14 2024

XTC is the subject of the only Trash Theory video I came out of with LESS of an appreciation for a band. Absolutely no surprise that their only good song was written by the bass player and not the nonce who started this whole pointless endeavor.

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Mar 20 2024

Please be serious. One of the most dated albums I've heard in a very long time.

Elvis Is Back by Elvis Presley
Mar 27 2024

Great voice. Definitely look up all the original songs, though.

Heroes by David Bowie
Apr 05 2024
Roxy Music by Roxy Music
Apr 18 2024

I thought there'd be, y'know, more than this.

Odelay by Beck
Apr 26 2024

One day in high school we were running track. I had stopped for a rest and an acquaintance begged for my DiscMan so she could had something to take her mind off the boredom of laps. I had the Odelay CD inside and warned it might not be to her taste; she said she didn't care, she just needed "anything". Anyway after one lap she practically threw the DiscMan back at me lol.

Apr 29 2024

Queen's problem is that their good songs are overplayed and their deep cuts are an embarrassment to music.

May 08 2024

I prefer the soulful, singer-songwriter Laura Nyro to the "funky", Mamas and the Papa's style tracks that make up too much of this album. Diminishes the timeless effect her voice can have.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
May 13 2024

Listening to this album is the closest I can get to meeting my husband as a teenager.

Document by R.E.M.
May 14 2024

I really struggle to hear past Stipe's voice.

A Seat at the Table by Solange
May 16 2024

Doesn't come close to the heights of "Losing You".

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
May 17 2024
Punishing Kiss by Ute Lemper
May 24 2024

"If sex was an Olympic sport / We'd have won the gold" is where I noped out.

Tidal by Fiona Apple
May 31 2024

(Gordon Ramsey voice) finally some good fucking food "Criminal" is the only song to which I have the lyrics memorized. Not through effort, but through the osmosis of how iconic it is.

The ArchAndroid by Janelle Monáe
Jun 04 2024

I remember finding Monae's sound fresh when this album came out, but have struggled with her failure to evolve in the decade+ since. Some of her worst instincts on this record - that make it less consistent and way less fun than it should be - are now most of her output. Ideas are everywhere all at once, underdeveloped and pounded into hooklessness by overstuffed and cringey production. Imagine if everyone song on this album was as tight as "Cold War"?

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Jun 05 2024

Imagine what these guys could have done on a second record.

Oxygène by Jean-Michel Jarre
Jun 07 2024
Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout
Jun 14 2024

First track gave me the wrong impression that this album was gonna be a good time.

Sulk by The Associates
Jun 19 2024
Berlin by Lou Reed
Jun 20 2024
Closer by Joy Division
Jun 21 2024
Soul Mining by The The
Jul 03 2024

The weak vocal melody of the opener had me wondering about the hype surrounding The The, but the rest of the album allayed any concerns. A classic.

Thriller by Michael Jackson
Jul 09 2024
Third by Soft Machine
Aug 07 2024
First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Aug 22 2024

OK, wow, I had a good impression of this album going into it but I didn't realize that it's wall-to-wall bops. A worthy addition to the canon.

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Aug 28 2024

This makes me want to throw a dinner party in the best way.
