Beatles,showtunes, some hits.
Worth the first three songs
Reminds me of Mom. So many great songs. I prefer Eric Burton for this style of singer. A bit more raw maybe.
Victoria, Drivin, and Shang rala are great. I love that they wanted to make their own style of music.
Great album. Silver Springs should have made the cut, amazing song.
Great album. Silver Springs should have made the cut, amazing song.
One of my all-time favorites. You can hear how influential they were on many bands.
Not really my jam. maybe too theatrical for my taste
Another talented individual who's is such an asshole that it takes away from his brilliance. He's so far stuck up his own ass and it plays out in the music. Still a pretty good album.
My generation comes in like a train. You can start to see where they are going. From “borrowing” black music to forming their own sound.
I love me some Steely Dan!
My uncle had me listen to this when I was 14-15 because I was getting into punk. This and the Stooges. I loved it and still do. Such energy!
Um… the Police really suck. I just don’t get it. It’s jazz rock which is done way better by Steely Dan. Sting is a massive douche bag. He’s like the Bono of England. Boo this band.
I weas surprised by this album. It seems like a great album to clean the house to, nice mix of energy and groove.
What a joyous album. You can't help but smile and shake your assets!
I have heard more songs from that album through various playlist that I really didn't know Was Adam and the Ants. I really liked what I heard. The sound of the drums were a lot of fun.
Such great lyrics. The night they drive old Dixie down is a top 50 song of all time for me.
Wow, who does this sound like…. It’s everything you want from David Bowie except it’s missing David Bowie.
A British dude signing country, Wut? oh yeah Wild horses is one of my favorite Stones songs. I take it back.
do you want 9 minute complex thrash metal? Um yes please! Ride the Lightning and Kill em All are slightly better imho.
What a terrible album cover! Just why? Album has lots of memories tied to it though. This was a very early band I fell in love with and probably over listened to the point where I just hear it now and am not amazed anymore. Probably a shame on my end.
I do like Rip it Up. Probably felt ahead of it's time. most of the songs felt like filler though to me.
Probably my least favorite White Stripes albums.
I did not hear anything special on this album. Blur is the much better band from this era.
I don't think I have ever listened to this album all the way through. In classic Bowie style, he writes a couple of singles to appease the part time fans record labels then does what ever the fuck he wants. Personally, maybe I'm a casual fan because I want more songs like Sound and Vision, but God bless him for doing what he wants on his terms.
I gave this a fair try to hear why Kendrick is considered one of the best rappers, I guess I don't listen to enough rap to understand the nuances of what makes him great. Interesting to listen to, but probably not something I'd revisit.
You can start to see how experimental Paul is staring to get with some of these tracks. What a gift he is to the music world. America is a top 50 song of all-time for me.
I like this style of rap better than most. it almost feels like indie rap.
Great Beck album probably my favorite of his.
I was surprised by this artist. It feels like rap over indie. Still not my favorite genre but I can appreciate the style and effort to do something new.
First punk album that sounded less hardcore than everything I had listened to before that. I adore this album and I wish we could have seen were they would have gone had he hadn’t pass.
Probably my favorite and most listened to White Strips album
I can hear there influence.
One of my favorite voices from the 80's-90's the rest of the band is no slouch either.
I'm a Coltrane guy. Love the Bass and drums on this album though.
Wish they hadn't polished their sound so much in their last few albums. The first three albums were special.
Where is the line with cultural appropriation and honoring another culture begin and end? I don't know.
This album was one of the ones that my parents had and I listened to quite a bit. It has held up for me. When my only source of music was either my parents collection or what was on the radio, this album showed me a crunchier guitar that I would continue to love with other artists.
Nothing compares to you is such a great song. I feel like she didn't have a cohesive album though. Some pop some soul, and some that mix the two. The best songs are were she blends the two in my opinion.
What a fun, over produced album!
