Selling England By The Pound
GenesisI love this album. Haven’t listened to it in some time so I really enjoyed this after Yes yesterday. I’ve always loved all the word play in the lyrics.

An inoffensive unremarkable album.
So many classic groovy tunes!
So many great classics! I had never realized they came from their first album.
Not my taste in tunes, although I did find myself grooving at a few songs. Historically interesting content, but I can do without the explicit lyrics.
I enjoyed this. Groovy reggae from Scotland.
A very morose collection of songs.
This was an excellent antidote the morose album Bright Flight
A groovy album with many classic unforgettable tunes!
Love the harmonies these guys do.
I'm not likely to listen again.
Not my cup of tea.
Good album. Some great lyrics!
Sounds like this band had 1 musical idea that was played out across almost every song on the album. Not a bad idea. Just one idea.
Loved this. First song is an all time fave.
I really liked this. Love the incorporation of harmonica into the music followed up by Stevie Wonder then Blues Traveler.
Some classics here. Not a full album's worth.
Not my bag. I tried.
Lots of emotion in this album. The opening is a little maudlin but the rest is really Marvin with his open bleeding heart shared with the world. Overall a good album but not his best.
Historically interesting but not my bag.
Love the lead harmonica and slide guitar!
A rocking good time!
A historically important album for the production and guitar techniques ... but man, I couldn't listen to it.
I understand why this album is "on the list" but it's not my flavour of music.
Meh. Cool that they quote excerpts from Michael Moorcock's books and that he also plays with the band occasionally. I'm a fan of prog rock but I didn't really care for this album. Struck me as a little pretentious.
Not enough stars to rate this album!
I love this album! Cool to discover that "The Clap" was inspired by Mason Williams' Classical Gas.

Loved this. At first I thought Satisfaction was an Otis original, then JJ & I checked it out & he set me straight. :-)
Solid R&B jazzy feel to this. I enjoyed it. It didn't strike me so strongly that I would seek it out again.
A few real bangers on this album! Not a whole albums worth.
First time I ever listened to Kanye. I now understand the meaning of Chipmunk Soul/R&B/Rap. I can dig the vibe but I'm turned off by his antisemitism - not a musician for me. Bit of weird finish with the long extended stream of consciousness storytelling.
Not my cup of tea. Didn't make it through the whole album.
This sounded like a variety show. Eminem is a brilliant wordsmith. The violent and misogynistic themes of his work are distasteful. Using his young (toddler?) daughter in a song about killing his wife was over the top. I like the self reflective vibe of his lyrics. Just imagine what he could produce if he turned his mind away from crude forms of expression.
I really enjoyed this. Never heard of David Gray before. Very much a pre-cursor to the stylings of James Blunt and Ed Sheeran.
Some real bangers here, quintessential Dylan classics!
Meh
One of my all time faves!
A few good tunes here. Not the whole album for me.
I enjoyed this. I had only been familiar with The Proclaimers version of My Old Friend the Blues. This made me want to learn to play it on guitar.
Classic Frank!
Meh. Not my cup of tea.
A largely mellow listen with a couple of stand out tunes. I enjoyed this.
One hit wonder, but it's a great hit! Overall, an inoffensive album.
As a teenager, there may have been times I was this angry. It's not speaking to me today.
I really dig this! Never heard of Hugh Maskela before.
Never heard of these guys. Love the title (from the book "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat). I suspect if I listened to it several times I'd dig it even more. Some groovy tunes.
A good ole southern rockin' good time!
