At the first couple of seconds all that came to my mind was "Dollar store Dave Mathews Band" Don't know how they have a following.
its a vibe. I really enjoyed it. nothing crazy but it was good.
Its fun.
Honestly, I thought I was gonna hate it, but it was fun. It was like an identity confused version of Cake. not the best but it had a variety in the tracks and engaging enough to have in the background and not be a total nuisance.
I did not expect to love this album as much as I would. I also didn't know all of the songs I already knew. It is by far my favorite album in this project. such a passionate and fun loving energy throughout the album, but not without substance. so good.
Most of it felt like a bunch of Sega Gensesis video game songs. This is like that hipster kid who tries unique stuff to be cool, but it mainly misses the mark. there are some cool things in here but not enough to warrant another listen.
Aimless album that seems to try to hard. the main redeeming element is that the album is shorter, and the annoying song don't completely overstay there welcome. Not offensive but I definitely won't listen to it again. Pin is definitely a lowlight. As someone else mentioned, 'Maps" actually site that bad. Seems to actually have come cohesion.
Soul is not necessarily my thing but Stevie Wonder is a good artist for those who want to give it a try
One day, a group of slam poets turned on a white noise maker picked up some instruments, recorded for forty minutes and released the album. and it is about as good as you would think
The only thing redeeming about this album is that the songs are short. Elvis seem to want to pretend to be insightful but it just left with poor vocals and boring instrumentals.
some good fun. nothing crazy, but it was entertaining and had some head bobs every once in a while.
Not entirely my thing but I enjoyed it for what it was. Norah is a great signer and the guitar added a nice accompaniment. Felt like if one of the dixie chicks went solo. not bad but not gonna be a stand out
Thought I would hate it but there were som ironic gems in this album. enjoyed Tom's jazzy tones. some songs worked better than others the middle part was definitely my favorite.
As soon as a saw the Beasty Boys, I rolled my eyes. I find them obnoxious and overrated. That being said, knowing what I was getting into, the beginning does not seem nearly as bad as I thought it would. It's typical Beasty Boys stuff but it helps that their popular songs aren't in this album so don't have any experience with these songs. Some good beats but overall I feel a little gross listening to it. Not exactly sure why, but the lyrics feel immature and no matter the song, the rhythm of the lyrics is the exact same. Da-da-da- ba ba ba- (insert background vocals) repeat. Tolerable but definitely won't be on the regular rotation. My perspective on this group is a little improved, but not by much. I'm torn between giving it a 2 or 3, but given the fact that I probably won't listen to it again minus maybe two songs im adding to my 'history of music playlist' Ill give it a 2.
Driving my Ford F150 through the Oklahoma plains. First two tracks are awesome, lulls a little until le grange, but I thoroughly enjoy this
As soon as the first two seconds entered my eardrums, I knew I would regret the next hour I was gonna spend. I find better stuff on Youtube study compilations. Glad I know It exists and I gave it a semblance of a shot, but ya.... no
old queen is still good queen. you can tell they are beginning to find their voice, but have not fully committed it. As a queen album 3/5, but as an album that I really enjoyed it goes as an easy 5 for this.
so much fun.
another enjoyable Neal Young tune.
Not bad, vocals are an acquired taste.
semi catchy elevator music nothing more
Diet Metallica, not bad but have definitely heard before. Enjoyed it but I couldn't help think I have heard this before through different artists. 'Hallowed be thy name" is by far my favorite track, guitar is so good.
Some of this felt very same compared to other stuff, but it Is done well. "surrender' and "I want you to want me' were obvious highlights. I feel like if I heard the studio version of this album I would give it a four, but because this is live and it is done so well, and indistinguishable from the studio version, It gets bumped to a five. Classic rock done well.
Rap is my favorite to begin with, there was one song I would like, but I don't think I would listen again. If I could give a 2.5 I would because it doesn't warrant a two but isn't good enough to be a three
Not my thing but I can appreciate the technical goodness about it. Really smooth vocals, catchy enough beats. somewhat the same but I can't say it's anything special.
feel like every song has something else to enjoy and unpack over multiple listens very good
First song I liked, the rest of the stuff sounds like incomprehensible techno babble. not my thing. easy two.
nothing special but fun. 4
fun, familliar inoffensive. Not bad but it seems like every track sounds familiar.
Enjoyable songs with a very 90s vibe, enjoyed it a lot but not the best of the best.
It sounds as if someone just discovered Garage band and just started playing with instrumental pre-sets and dusted off old slam poetry. I have a headache halfway through this album.... why do you do this to me?
I mean.. come on.... It's Bob Marley! Not his most popular songs but all of them had such a nice bite of history. I feel like im listening to a time capsule of civil unrest all while still written to entertain, and this album is great at doing that.
beautiful was very surprised,
Opening two sounds were awesome. Weird songs that are certainly unique with a good 80s vibe. solid 4
Still going through it. The voices are distracting, but the political message is certainly historic and interesting to peak into an unknown piece of history I appreciated seeing. Music itself has good jazz, but again the vocals take something from me.
The highs are high and the lows are.... eh. I really loved the first four songs, then the rest of the album has some bright spots but nothing compared to the front quarter.
a fun delight
I thought I was gonna be offended listening to this but it wasn't that bad, entertaining enough background noise but im not gonna go out of my way to listen anytime soon.
Didn't know what to expect but this was so much freaking fun. Lots of head bobbing. Funk isn't necessarily my thing but I can appreciate the music and how it works so well with all of the moving pieces, great piece of music
so.... much.... shouting
You see rap frustrates me a lot. I think the music is good, the rhythms are awesome, but why do most things need to be so crude? I loved so fresh and so clean, up until all of these innuendos started coming in. To be clear im not trying to be a puritan but none of these words say anything profound other than, they like sex. I loved ms Jackson, because it had substance and was speaking about life experience, and if there was a sexual reference it was serving a greater narrative. But as good as the music is, it is this self elevating crude language that makes me from enjoying more.
not my thing. entertaining though. Good background Music for the first half. everything overstayed its welcome by the end
very entertaining, obvious messages which some are more heavy handed then others, but not bad
weird but fine
2
you know that moment in the movie 'ratatouille' where Remy takes a bite of a piece of cheese and a strawberry and he sees these moving colors as the flavor reveals itself? ya this album is just that. one of the best of this early experiment.
unique vibe that grows tiring pretty quickly.artistic and chill, but not enough to make it more than a 3
nope
Enjoyed the first half a lot. Ozzy was fun. nothing crazy but fun
I know the first song from playing NBA 2k for most of my life, so that was a fun surprise. otherwise it was some dun beats but nothing special
Dollar store Johnny Cash
Ya, before I finish the album I know im gonna give it a five. Just such a good album Ive heard the famous ones like Black Hole Suns but the lesser known tracks were still super solid. Great Band RIP Chris Cornell
can't even to half the songs on spotify. so ill assume its a 3
EH
I know there are some amazing David bowie songs, but none of them were here. Good but not spectacular
only on the first song but I can tell this isn't gonna be my jam since this one is the most listened track on the album, ya im good
dollar store jimmy buffet
This is fun. the sound is the same throughout the track but its got the 90's montage vibe, that is fun.
Im a sucker for good guitar riffs. wish the vocals were a bit better
Not great didn't hate it. a little more enjoyable then the first album, but won't be listening again any time soon
I love the vibe of the album and what Nirvana means for 90s music. Great songs, but some of them go a little over the line for me as far as edgy. Not a fan of the screaming or intentionally provocative lyrics in some songs, but overall I enjoyed it
can't listen to it right now, and based off of the reviews im not missing out on much. Sorry XTC, but you get a three since I can't no for sure its bad
It is fun. sometimes a little to sensual for my taste but it was still very good
enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Solid signing that got me investing throughout.
Liked the soul music, nice dive into the 60's
garage band vibes... here for it
definitely not their best album but you see the backbone of a good indie rock band
not sure about the hype. nothing special some great saxophone, but not the legend of steely dan I have heard about.
some interesting beats that can't keep my attention for an hour
Oh no.... I was transported to a middle age Cat Lady's kitchen as Touched By an Angel plays in the background. I keep waiting for a Gospel choir to sneak up behind me to transport me to a world that this vibe is the only thing that will permeate my brain. I can already see the fade transitions as different smiling faces transcend over someone riding a bike on an east coast beach. IT is at the same time disconcerting and comforting all at the same time. I don't know what to feel anymore. other than 1. should have been deleted after 1989
Definitely baby Led Zeppelin, first song awesome. everything else was good by not as captivating as later albums 3.5
The first two songs.... Wow... awesome. If only the album carried that same intensity the entire way. still some good songs but never kept the creative and impactful intensity that 'Hello" brought in the first track
"Can I get a side of Queso?"
one of the worst album covers I have seen. looks like an old default windows home screen with default text. first song is already nothing to really stand out. as soon as something cool sounding pops up its gets drowned out, by non impactful lyrics and a self insistence that smashing on a keyboard is good music.
Liked a lot more than I thought. Female singer was so good, entertaining. the skits and stuff was not really my thing, but overall I really enjoyed it
another pleasant surprise. psychedelic is the wordier the album. Enjoyable and unique.
legit first thing that came to my mind. is "how is Jack Stauber on this list?" shows im on internet culture too much, but it sounds really fun and energetic to being the album. then halfway through the lull, it pulls me back it with 'can't help myself' really good song solid 4
Knowing Bob Dylan is so well known, I was expecting a lot more. Definitely feels like a product of its time, and maybe if I grew up with it I could appreciate more, but the signing is just tedious. some good instrumentals but the singing is just too distracting.
