Definitely Maybe
OasisDecent. Catchy generic sound, but on the back end hasn't aged much.
Decent. Catchy generic sound, but on the back end hasn't aged much.
Kind sweet until the last song, which is so bad and inconsistent with the foregoing that it lost a star
This was not good at all. Y’all must be drunk [in love]
Weird Indian sidetrack mid album
Don’t know that I needed the song straight up repeated.
If you like listening to variations of shitty guitar feedback, this is the album for you.
Crazy takes here. This is a classic album
For Your [Moderate] Pleasure
Nice subtle commentary
Decent.
Fan of the sound of the album (outside of much of the singing), but otherwise could be rough at times.
Maybe hire a singer
Dudes got pipes and there’s consistent musicianship with variation between songs. Guitar sound is a bit grating, I’d like to hear them with modern polish on the recording.
Fine
Solid
You could cross the Pacific Ocean in the time it takes to finish this album.
Solid
Never actually listened to the full album, and didn’t realized that it basically contains all their jams.
90 percent is so bad that I can’t give the decent parts any star-based credit
Kinda funk
The worst Radiohead album I’ve ever heard. Any other band and no critic would have put it anywhere near this list
Slash hard carrying this album. Hard to rate because of the highs and lows.
Weirdly good?
Finding this one really hard to rate. Some of that is the weird context of the album, but the production is great and I’ve never heard an album flow from one song to the next as effectively—it plays like one fever dream.
Some highs, but the lows really dragged this
Every member of the band killing it for their part, consistent themes and sound, no bad songs and a few all-timers. An easy five irrespective of Ozzy’s death or its outsized influence.
I’m going to veer from the group and rate this highly, classic singles but even the deep tracks are mostly solid. I wish these ratings were out of ten, because really I think this album is an 8.5, but I guess that means I’m rounding up.
All Along the Watchtower and Voodoo Child truly save this album
Just not good. There’s a huge quality gap between this album and Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables
Realizing that I enjoy live albums. Honestly considering 4 or 5 for this. Also rare that a live album song version is the definitive recording (I want you to want me).
I would ride this album like the haradrim
Not my taste but decent. My heart didn’t find the groove of some of the deeper tracks
Surprised by how little I enjoyed this. Lyrics are good and some solid tracks—but my man, if your voice sounds like that you can’t also be absolutely blaring mediocre harmonica. If the point of an album is to make enjoyable sounds, then shouldn’t your sound be good?
Unexpectedly good album
Weird move Bowie
Good.
Halfway through the album I stopped and realized this was rad yo.
It was mostly fine, but that’s about all I’ve got
No comments necessary
Somewhere between a 3 and a 4 for me. Good and kinda jammy, but not memorable.
Familiar with the single but not this album. Pretty impressed. the album falls off a bit towards the end, but a nice mix of like Kinks/REM/acoustic-heavy alternative. On the borderline between 4 and 5–if it had another solid single I’d bump it up easy.
Liked the sound and vibe, but not enough of the individual songs
Hard to review without understanding the lyrics or context, but the music itself was enjoyable enough
The depth of this album is almost unparalleled, and if we just forget that Oh Daddy exists, doesn’t hit particular lows.
Fairly dense. Both carried and undercut by Eddie’s great/overdone guitar playing
A rock opera with a story I really couldn’t follow or get into, and not too many great tracks. Gains a point for the attempt and influence.
