Untitled (Black Is)
SAULTWasn't sure this would be for me during the first song, but the further I got into the album, the more it clicked for me. Excellent vibe music. Black lives matter

An interesting vibe! Energetic but also chill music. Incredinly danceable
Can recognize how iconic the music is here, esp Blitzkreig Bop, but just not my preferred flavor of music.
Real Classic Rock. A lot of variety of sound while still having a cohesive vision behind it. Will listen again, for sure.
Feels hard to quantify exactly what I'm looking for in an album. I know my favorite albums have songs that touch my soul, but is that from the chords, the lyrics, or the point in my life when I heard it? Loved lots of songs here, especially Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses. Will definitely listen to it again!
The thing I've struggled with most in going back and listening to older music is the Seinfeld effect - I don't have context for what music was like *before* classic albums came out so I can't appreciate that innovation for what it is. I just hear it and go "oh, that sounds like a lot of other music I've heard." Definitely simple on the lyrics, but when every song makes me subconsciously tap my foot and move my body, I know Buddy Holly tapped into something *primal*
I just understood what music is supposed to be. The kind of music that makes me want to share it with everyone I know AND everyone I don't.
Nice sold rock sound. Definitely enjoyable, but not super memorable.
Growing up in the suburbs might've broken me. Even as I've moved into urban spaces with people all around me, I still never make connections with my neighbors, live apart from community, and feel like I'm missing something fundamental about the human experience. But they were still my home, ya know? And I think this album taps into that dichotomy so well. The suburbs are Home, but they're also Damage, Separation, a source of some of America's damage and societal ailes. There's no easy feelings about them, no simple distillation of what the suburbs were and are.
Solid big band music
Really just not my thing. Not a fan of this style of singing and did not connect with the lyrics and themes whatsoever.
Some songs aren't my vibe here but the ones that are *really* clicked with me. Reminds me a lot of The Screen Behind the Mirror, of incredible Vibing Out music
Would be a 5 just for Thriller but it also has 8 other perfect pop songs. No one has ever done it like Michael
Tender, gentle, beautiful stuff. Ran over by songs like Round and Round, but didn't connect with the longer, less focused stuff like Down by the River
Reminiscent of NES music where you have like 8 bars of music looped for a while to make a really long song. Not bad, but pretty forgettable
On paper I probably shouldn't like this - it can feel like a collection/mashup of a bunch of noise at times, but the whole thing felt surprisingly cohesive. Vibes on vibes on vibes. Except for "OK", this feels like a great night time drive playlist. Unfortunately falls off in the second half.
Wasn't expecting techno from Madonna tbh, but I think she does it pretty well! Think the album falls off in the second half, but there're a good number of songs I like in this
Really can't go wrong with Elvis. Only thing keeping it from a 5 star is that there wasn't a big Standout Track from the album, but I did really enjoy every single song here. Will absolutely continue to listen to it.
Look I'm sure that Bob Dylan's lyrics are great but I genuinely cannot get past his voice. I just do not like the way he sings
Genuinely loved this. A few songs had flow that struck me as "educational/anti-drug PSA" but talked about how love and partaking in community is all that'll save us and we need to overthrow the government, super tight.
Literally what were they even saying on this album? The sound mixing is so whacked to the point the already muted vocals just get overwhelmed.
Now THIS is some rock and roll, man. Every song a banger while also having consistently unique sound. Will absolutely be listening again
Nice! Liked it but didn't super connect with it. Never heard any Marley before and it was nice to fill in that history.
Solid stuff! Not super remarkable but will definitely listen to it again in the future.
Ooooo we got a GROOVE here. Really liked the first song, the rest didn't get me to schmoove quite as much.
This list might have a special sense cause right when I was wanting some country, it delivered. Toe-tapping goodness
Solid rock album but the middle blurred together.
Just kinda ran through me
Nice rock n roll album! Always good to hear where iconic songs come from
Too repetitve for me, even as someone who likes house music/techno
It's like I got transported to a car driving on the highway, going 70 miles per hour, in total harmony with the world. Really liked this one.
Honestly started out alright but just kept piling on questionable line after sexist line. I think this is what racist old white dudes think all rap is.
Solid rock album, but I liked Who's Next more
Pretty good, but didn't stick with me.
I am One with the Funk. Grooving till the end of time
Liked it overall! Really need to listen to it again but just didn't quite have time
I know it's a style but I just do not care for limper, dissonant singing like this. Guitar riffs are cool though
Second Marley album - it's decent for me, but I'm just not drawn to Marley's sound that much. Ah well.
Just really good, solid country. Good covers, good voice, good instrumentals.
I've bounced off a lot of British Rock but I enjoyed this one!
Really nice to get another sampling of another genre. Not quite what I want out of metal but man I do just love this genre of music.
Felt like it cut right to me.
Love getting hip-hop on here cause I do need to explore it more but I have no idea where to start. Loved a lot of this but that Chinese Restaurant skit had me scratching my head for sure
Mmmmmm what a voice man, what romance
Big, unfortunate W for the English here. Might come back and bump this up to a 5, but I'm for sure coming back to listen to it in the future
Really good folk album
Solid rock album! Liked it more than a lot of the other rock I've heard so far
As a Minnesotan, I feel immense pride every time I listen to Prince. And this is some of my favorite Prince I've heard so far
Solid rock but not super my thing
Great metal here. Love classic albums popping up, they're like gigantic keys of music history
Wasn't sure this would be for me during the first song, but the further I got into the album, the more it clicked for me. Excellent vibe music. Black lives matter
Definitely not my thing, felt like an album from Captain Hook at the bar in Shrek 2
Solid! Liked the music but none really stuck with me
Really enjoyed some songs on here, but definitely just breezed through me at points. Master of Puppets just stuck with me a lot more
Lyrics I can barely hear combined with thin, dissonant scoring = not my thing
Like a rejected musical coming to haunt me
Ehhhhhh I'm not sure about this one man. Some good songs but I never caught a cohesive direction for the album
Loved this! Haven't listened to any Springsteen before but I'm looking forward to more. Good variety of sounds and solid songs themselves
Solid rock album, standard stuff.
Was groundbreaking at the time, but now just sounds standard. Cool to go back into music history
Like it but don't love it. The trading off of lines starts to feel like a forced gimmick and not something natural around halfway through
Too long to listen to all 40 songs here but I really dug what I managed to listen to
I've been super inconsistent on liking the rock albums supplied here but this SUPER worked for me. Great vocals, solid backing tracks, and always tried a bunch of different sounds. Will for sure return to this in the future.
