Man in the Mirror amd Smooth Criminal are imo two of the best Pop Songs, nothing like that seems to be written anymore…(old man yells at cloud). One full album of MJ is a tad much though to digest at once. Still a classic obviously, but not my personal favourite.
I‘m convinced of the musicians ability to play their instrument. Jazz is not for me though, so the review only reflects how much I enjoyed listening to it - my ear couldn‘t even distinguish between songs.
Forgettable - glade Ibsaved my notes on Friday;) In some moments, the sound reminds me of great bands like Biffy Clyro, but the musical variety regarding guitar playing and singing feels a little limited. Found the album boring overall. Intervention is a nice track.
I have to come clean: Despite being a so-called fan of the rock genre, I had completely wrong expectations for Jimi Hendrix and this album as I was excited to hear some guitar solos, not so much old-sounding singing and less virtuous drumming. Credit for being an artist with so much variety, for me the melodies were lacking and the guitar tuning is not my cup of tea.
Tina is a Swiss national treasure (lived 20 km outside of Zurich and had a really big impact on the community) so I might be a little biased, but I really liked listening to the album (good production value!). Overall the songs are not 100% on par with MJs Bad, but some tunes are really nice to listen to (What‘s love.., I can‘t stand the rain).
Listened to it while unpacking the suitcase after coming home - was more irritated by the indsrumentals than anything else. I‘d expect the album could grow on me by listening to it more carefully. As background it‘s more creepy than enjoyable.
I do love their comfortable soothing music and think that they are the most loveable Hippies. But this short story-driven album is not it.
Good album with very modern sound. None of the songs I knew of DM (and really like) is on the album, but the sound really grew on me while listening.
The album start was a positive surprise, then it fell of a cliff even though it‘s so short.
At least it was short and I now know how older Hives sound.
Remember when this came out and topped the album charts. Also recognize some songs and the vibes are generally really positive and fun. Would not listen to voluntarily though.
Really, what a fun and surprising start - and a fall off towards the end. Never mind.
Enjoyable with some Brit-Pop Classics that even I now - 1 extra star for the Bitter Sweet Symphony, what a melody!
Surely she has a lovely voice and such. I don't want to say anything mean to the sound to start the new week...;)
Some good and recognizable songs (Someday!) that I found quit enjoyable. Not too fancy with the guitars and drums, but overall interesting melodies.
In addition to some classics we even get a Duett with Paul MCartney (though I didn't like it in particular). Overall enjoyable, but I do like the more accessible later MJ albums better. Also, why was MJ not cancelled after songs like Pretty Young Thing, The Girls is Mine? Pretty intrusing if you ask me...
WTF - although it's short, I didn't make it through.
At least the music was not intrusive to my currently rather stressful workload. Singing was not my cup of tea.
Older MJ, less my jam. Not too entertained by that.
More entertaining and powerful than expected - would accompany Sterner Regnix to a concert night.
Found it rather boring, but not bad.
Enjoyable to some point, even though I‘m not a Mick Jagger guy. Still one of the most important rock bands, but not so much in this one.
Didn‘t think a 50 year old live album could sound that powerful. Extra star for mentioning Switzerland and recording the album on a Japan tour - in cities that I now know😁
Couldn‘t find an access to the songs, but that‘s maybe on me and my current fitness level.
The best Synth-Pop album I know - including my favourite DM-song and probably also my favorite early 90s song of them all "Enjoy the Silence". What a pleasure to the ears;)
Even I, the least hood-person in the least hood-country during a sheltered childhood, was affected by this album in 7th class. It took us all with it, from catchy (Slim shady, The Way I am) to beautiful melodies (Stan) to being outright shocked (Kill you, Kim, ...). Lyrics don't hold up perfectly, but from pure nostalgia, the 5* are warranted. For a non hip hop person the most important hip-hop album.
Timeless rock hymns with beautiful guitars, okay singing and a cool, one-handed, powerful drummer.
Impeccable timing with the album but a little too old-sounding. Not the biggest fan of US-christmas songs.
Not too bad, instruments sound good. If possible I‘d given 2.5 stars.
As good as a 70s Rock Album gets. "Baba O'Riley" and "Won't get fooled again" did make it on my freshly created 1001Albums Hit Playlist.
First Beatles-album I listened to in full and in one play. The variety is impressive, so are some of the songs. As a whole not 100% my cup of tea, still it was fun to listen to some music history.
Going with Regnix here - the Intro is one of the most epic sounds created by humans. Rest is not my cup of tea.
Justin probably is the most talented solo artist and entertainer out of the NSYNC/Backstreet Boys bunch. There are also a few really enjoyable songs on the album - I will never forget the cool ending of Rock your Body. Overall a little too long, slow and similar sounding.
Honestly, I didn't know what to expect frome Led Zeppeling besides their absolute greatest hits. Was enjoyable classic rock with lots of talent and variety.
What a fantastic rock album, what fantastic riffs! I knew of Van Halen being a great Guitar Player, but even the songs are great on this album. I would give up a lot to experience what it feels like to play the guiter like that - like it meant to be!
Thought that was a well-produced, clean and fun Live album
Okay sounding for - well - a cafe background, would not repeat listening to it a second time.
Apparently, this guy is a songwriting machine with over 30 albums released - wonder how many more are up for us to listen here. Enjoyed the upbeat fun pop, sounded a little (really a little) like Bob Dylan from time to time.
A bit slow for my taste, but this kind of Rock always entertains me while listening in the background.
Enjoayble, smooth and safe for work support in the background.
This album was not nearly as good as the first one of The Who that we had here. Apparently it's their first album, maybe that's why they haven't found their style-focus yet.
Sometimes you hear shadows of Nirvana in the riffing, the overall sound I did not enjoy though.
Found it a bit monotone, but overall like the sound and Bob's voice, lyrics, tonality, etc.
Honestly, I expected worse...
Listened to it while working - it's mostly too slow for my liking.
With this we drive far away from my taste. Surely ambient but I can't relax or work to sound like that.
After seein Regnix giving this a 4-Star review I had to listen in - what a lovely, folky album with some lovely singing. Matty Groves is a banger!
I expected a higher Energy level throughout the album, but still I liked most of the tunes.
It's time to relax, you know what that means! Classic album of a classic rock/punk band that accompanied through my youth. Just had seen them in Zurich last November - love the energy, love the sound, love Self Esteem!
Sometimes okay to listen to, sometimes a little irritating.
