1001 Albums Summary

Tough listen, lots of pain. Year I graduated high school. Remember listening in the freshman dorm.

It's Zeppelin and I am a fanboy. Hits right of the bat with famous riff and hammer of the Gods...Gallows pole and Tangerine is one of my favorite Zeppelin tunes. Great slide guitar and southern blues from Page but JPJ is this album and arranger. Not too much from Bonzo. Definitely can hear the growth from the band and all being at Headley Grange is clear.

One of my favorite Radiohead albums after first being exposed to them by their mainstream hit Creep. Three of my favorites...High and Dry, Fake Plastic Trees and Black Star.

Great Album. After learning about their precious master tapes being stolen, listening to this album from stary to finish took on a whole new meaning. Great story telling and anthem feel.

Concept is cool, each song is too long and very similar to the next.

Maybe no bass guitar but sure can hear Lars. Probably the album that put Metallica on the path of overwhelming success and inclusion of melodic and instrumental features with their hard speed. Great lyrics.

You can hear Liverpool by the third beat.

Reminds me of some early Bond themes. Great piano. For 1966, black female artist, easy to hear why it was groundbreaking.

Too long. Some good drums. Couldn't get into the lyrics.

Great jams especially guitar on track one. Some sound effects like train signals and goats weren't necessarily but I get it...

Good lyrics. Heavy on the twang. Can hear Emmylou Harris and Sheryl Crow.

Great guitar player and lyricist...can't always handle his voice for a long period of time. Was a perfect match with CSN.

It's Ella singing with a big band some of America's best songs of the time.

One of the most iconic albums and best live recordings...kinda overplayed for my generation but listening to it front to back I have a newfound respect.

It's Marley....funny to see what a mess the band was....writers, names, money. Easy to see they just loved the party and dint know how to make it a responsible business or company.

Slow. Couldn't gather anything special from lyrics or story.

Birdland was a favorite growing up from my dad. Decent jazz album.

Great album....good solid rock and Tull is so unique in lyrics, style and voice.
