1001 Albums Summary

A very solid album. I had only listened to The Velvet Underground and Niko and Loaded before this. This may stripped down album took me by surprise. I think its a lot softer compared to those other albums. Almost a Psychedelic folk vibe at times. Overall, I'm very happy to have discovered this!

I think this album is really a 3.5, but I'll give it a 4 since I may listen to it again. Al green's got a good voice and the instrumentals are solid. However, I do find that male soul singers usually aren't as pleasing to me than females. That is nothing against Al Green and is entirely subjective, but it does influence my ranking of this album.

I am not normally a fan of "old-school" rap, but man this album was great! I was hooked on my first listen and now understand why Dr.Dre is as renowned as he is. Catchy beats, goofy intermissions, and funky samples; this is true West-Coast rap at one of it's first peaks in the 90's.

Easily a 5/5. Led Zeppelin came out swinging with this one. I love the Blues and Psychedelic influence on this first album. The vocals, instrumentals, and production value is near perfect. The band just sounds so cohesive; it gives an indicator about the legendary status this band would have in the rock scene.

Very Etheral album. I loved the orchestral instrumentals and want to continue checking this album out

I would really give this album a 3.5/5 if I could, but I'll choose a 4 since I liked this album before having to listen to it here. There are some great tracks on this album (Roadhouse Blues, Waiting for the Sun, Peace Frog, Maggie M'Gill) but I found the rest of the album to be pretty lackluster. Still worth the listen, but not the Door's best work

Fantastic album from Amy Winehouse. She might be one of the best soul singers ever and this album surpassed my expectations.

Songs were okay, but nothing that made me want to come back to this album

This album felt very medicore to me. I do think that most of the songs have some great parts to them, but they are almost always negated by some other weird vocal, production, or instrumental choice. I feel like each song starts solid but I just don't care for it by the end. The album is not bad, but nothing to write home about either.
