Boring

Chaotic Jazz, interesting but not enjoyable to listen to. Anytime music requires a background theory discussion into why it's good, 1 track will give you the jist of the rest of the 40 minutes

Fantastic, totally unexpected journey through ambient/experimental dance music.

Dull, I just can't picture any situation/environment where this would fit the mood enough for me to want to listen.

Really nice album, first time on the list I've registered to an album in the same day as I wanted to take it in fully

Can't deny their importance to electronic music as a whole, but it's all moved on significantly, listening to this now it can sound simplistic, childlike and almost comedy in places. That being said some songs still hold up purely on the underlying song writing strength.

Really enjoyed the production quality that added depth to a genre that I normally find a bit background music vibes

Skilled composition and song writing but overall tone just feels soppy and a bit bland. Only so many ballards needed on the same record

Excellent, beyond the hits some great tunes that I've not heard before. Lot of reviews slating the soft rock, easy listening genre. But its really just a good listen. Not everything needs to to be deep and complex.

Passed me by whilst listening. Nothing jumped out. Just typical classic blues/rock.

Have to admit I was surprised by how good her vocal range is and how interesting the songs where and the mixture of influences. Having only known the singles before I really enjoyed the quality from start to finish of this album.

Perfect riff forward classic rock, big vocals, if you don't take it too seriously it's brilliant. Could crush a bunch of beers and listen to this all day long.

Never understand why people put this band on a pedestal. Catchy riffs and a pleasant but boring blues rock voice. Nothing more. Painting by numbers for music. Bland and unoriginal.

Really enjoyable, transports you to Cuba. Only 4 stars because I sense this is the washed down accessable version of this genre and there's probably some much more important Cuban Jazz/folk albums

Not sure about all the 1 star reviews, feels weird to really hate, what's basically stripped back singer songwriter folk/bluegrass. 1sts songs brilliant perhaps the rest is a little unambitious.

Brilliant but so much melancholy.

Pretty nostalgic from when I first discovered Hip Hop. Charlie 2nas voice is all time. Probably moved on a bit from this style of feel good hip hop with a message, it's a little bit plain and unsurprisingly in both the beats and lyrics. But an important transitional album between realising that the genre can be more than nonsense gangster rap into the more alternative hip hop that's out there.

The wobbly vocals are so bad it distracted away from potentially good musicianship

Opening track is obviously a huge hit, I've never dived deeper and found the rest of the album really good, with much more range from delicate and emotional songs to happy candy pop tinged rock. Really enjoyed it and was pleasantly surprised

Of an era. but stands up today with most of the songs still remaining relevant.

In remember this era of indie music being rife In the charts, I hated a lot of it. The zutons came along with something a bit different. Just a bit though

Found the melodies and lyrics a bit samey. Could imagine enjoying it once or twice but half way through the album it gets a bit boring. Enjoyed I'm on fire.

Amazing how many 1 star reviews have no concept of what this album is. The introduction of new Genre into the mainstream, self produced by a 15 year old kid from an estate in east london. It was a new sound and painted a picture of London life for a lot of kids growing up at the time. It blew up. Amazed that the production stands the test of time, sounds better than most drill or trap that's so popular know and only exist because of this album. You can not like the genre, but it's crazy to dismiss this as garbage.

Back when Coldplay had a little bit more credibility. Some top notch anthemic song writing, in the hopeful and joyous style. Still something about Coldplay that really grates but just can't pinpoint it. If I'm being objective about this album on its own, it's really good.

Gets a bit silly in places, but probably defining p funk album

King of liquid dnb/jungle. Put this on cleaned my house top to bottom, 2 hours flew by. Not sure if it's a "greatest of all time" pick, by virtue it's just a compilation/mix by ltj bukem. Half the songs aren't produced by him. And if you were to include mixes there's probably more intersting picks. Fabio and Groove rider drum and bass arena for example.

Totally service, prog/experimental pop/indie. It's got a sheen of being new and interesting but if you really listen it feels like it's taken the best bits of more bold bands, battles, beta band, LCD soundsystem eand watered them all down into something less divisive. Seems a little like it's trying to much without having a genuine soul.

Im a massive fan of modern prog rock, ashamed to say I only know the classic Rush songs. Enjoyed giving this whole album a listen, the musicianship is incredible. I think the album is a bit weaker in the second half. Will need to listen to more!

Hip hop is dead. Album doesn't quite stack up to the title tracks influence on popular culture.

Garbage, trying to be profound but just really clingy. Beats and production are ok but pretty uninspiring. Mumble rap sections as with the whole genre are just a signpost for a lack of any talent

Fantastic.

Something about Bowie never resonates with me. I can recognise that's its skillful songwriting, but I always just find it a bit dreary and dull.

Like experimental music and appreciate what might have been trying to do on this album has influenced whole genres of modern guitar music, but so much of it just sounds like drugged up jamming in a studio and doesn't really hit the mark.

Fine but not sure what elevates this to must hear, the lead vocals were incredibly average.

Don't know the artist but really enjoyed the blend of modern pop/electronica/psych/folk with the individual songs managing to be quite varied in style and tone but the album as a whole maintains an overall dreamlike spaced out feel. Very good will listen again

I listen to a lot of modern Jazz but have never done the deep dive into its history. Especially not swing. Really enjoyed this and could see it being a big smash on the dancefloors friday night back in the day. If I'm being picky the balance is a bit too much in the trebly side but I guess that's the style of the time and genre.

It's clearly masterfully arranged and the compositions are very good, but the this time and style of pompus, whimsical folk pop just doesn't do it for me, when am I supposed to listen to this? Dancing in a meadow surrounded by wildlife?

Rate the the genre crossing tracks and Influences. Probably way more experimental than I ever realised beck was.

Passed me by in the background. As with the other kraftwerk album on here, it's clearly important in the history of music but it's almost more like an art instillation than an album.

Supposed to be some uplifting thoughtful rap, but with the over used themes of 'grinding' 'making it out the hood' 'rims' and 'baby mamas' it just sounds average. Production although soulful just sounds light and empty. As for commons flow... He just talks it's so dull.

Enjoyed it, as with a lot of Jazz in this laid back style I find it sinks to the background a bit when I'm listening, not necessarily a bad thing.

As with most of the Motown records that have survived the years this one is just great song writing and exceptional vocals. Sometimes the genre does suffer from having a distinct sound that doesn't vary but this album has some experimentation and other elements.

Clearly an interesting voice and legend, but it's just too repetitive and the relaxed tone makes it hard to pay attention to. The broken hearted themes also get a bit sickly.

Really nice, will definitely listen to again, not a fan of a good percentage of Beatles and Beatles members output but this is good and has a really honest feeling.

Never quite sure where REM sit amongst their peers some how It always ends up being below average.

You can't deny the lyricism and self awareness. A cultural phenomenon at the time, not sure it resonates with me as I've grown up and there's a good percentage of angry teenager in the songs.
