Rum Sodomy & The Lash
The PoguesI like the song Dirty Old Town very much, but 18 songs of The Pogues is a bit much.
I like the song Dirty Old Town very much, but 18 songs of The Pogues is a bit much.
The album started of with a famous Darts intro song. I think the cover of 'I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself' does right to all the other covers of this song. Did not know that that song was first recorded by Chuck Jackson in 1962. I think this Album is alright although I don't know The White Stripes to much. 'In The Cold Cold Night' made me think of the sound of the Doors, 60 70 sound. Very nice. After these songs the album got me. And the use of a slide gitar makes it even better. The loud hardrock passages are not my favourites. I could endure them as I was intreged by this abum.
A special album, to my opinion. Nice to have heard once more. I used to have this album on a cassette. With some special songs Lust for life, Passenger and Tonight. This last song I also love very much performed live by David Bowie and Tina Turner. I found out that the link to David Bowie and the song Tonight lies in the production of Davis Bowie of Iggy Pop.
I did not like the album
The album can not make me feel the music. It is not intresting to me.
This is more music to me then the Beauty Boys. I know one song of the album of the La's. 'There She Goes' has not been a hit in the Netherlands. But it is aired some times on the radio. Although an eighties band they have a sixties sound. I could listen to it and to me this is reasonably nice music. But don't think I will especially look for it.
An unknown band for me. I could listen to them, as I kept on thinking I would be surprised having read WIKI on them. But I don't think they will get a revisit from me. It is not my type of music. As the English language is not my first language, music first speaks to me followed by the lyrics. But I could appreciate different styles of songs going from rock to melodious.
It is nit a bad album but it is not to my likings.
I like this rock'n roll band. Some rough edges. But nice instumental sound to the special souding voice.
This is music from when I had a drive-in disco. Disco, among with a lot of other music styles, is still one of my favorite music styles. It was nice to listen to this album. I had not listened to it as an album but I know all the songs of the album. If I would go through my single collection I know I have some singles of ‘Sister Sledge’ there. I really liked the remixes.
Nice to know, from WIKI, Pink Floyd there debut album ‘The Piper at the Gates of Dawn’ takes its title from chapter seven of Kenneth Grahame's 1908 novel ‘The Wind in the Willows’, which refers to the nature God Pan. The book focuses on four animals: Mole, Rat, Toad, and Badger. The picture from Mr. Toad triggered the memories of the videoclip of Paul McCartney ‘We all stand together’. This song was/is one of our families songs when we had a long drive in our car we sing along (more shouted along). But back to Pink Floyd. I can remember that as friends, in the early eighties, we came together to listen to Pink Floyd Albums and we loved it. It was so unique to us this psychedelic rock. This music took me down memory lane. I don’t think this is there best album, but it was nice as an suggestion to listen to it.
I was made curious after having read the album information. Listened to it, nice, but I don't think it will get a replay. To me it is a lot of samples put together. The song ‘Gritty Shaker’ made me think of the Elvis Presley mix from Junkie XL ‘A little less conversation’.
Not realy my music this album. One or two song of later albums I know and are nice to listen to when they are on the radio. I did not know they did the soundtrack of Tron the legacy, nice.
Behind blue eyes, phenominal.
I like 'The Band', rock music. But it has something country to me. Did not know they were the band of Bob Dylan.
Nice to listen to.
Backgroundmusic I can listen to when I'm working. Waterfalls is the only song I realy know. And I think that one is a good song.
Although having worked for a short period as a sound engineer in hard rock an trash metal and commercial music, I could not really appreciate this hardcore punk album. Although I could recognize a lot of riffs in the music to be hard rock and trash metal riffs.
I can hear the sixties sound in this album. Had not heard of the gerne 'Garage Rock'. Nice album with a lot of well known covers. Nice to see that all the songs are within the 3 minutes what was "a standard".
Nice Album to listen to. A familiar band but had not listened to a lot of music from them. I could work and listen to this album. Now Spotify is giving me similar music. I will continue listening to the suggestions of Spotify for today I think.
This hip hop album was not very interesting to me. It's to much rap in there I had to follow while working.
Nice rock / hardrock album. A lot of familiair songs.
Neil Young to me is the song Heart of Gold. On this album there were some nice Balads.
Frank Sinatra always nice to listen to.
I had never heard of this artist. Interesting music style. But at the end of the album I had heard more then enough of him.
30 second for this album was wat I needed. Punk is not my music.
Free Jazz is not my thing. But at least I got to know the term Free Jazz. But luckily there were some not that extreme Free Jazz song on there. Spotify did not work for me on this Album so I had to turn to YouTube.
A nice album from this (alternative) rock band. Music I can listen to. Maybe I wil listen to it again.
I did not like this album
Nice to listen to.
Nice rock album. Personally I don't think it stands out.
I thought I did not know this artist. But I know the song 'Have A Heart' from Bonnie Raitt. I like this song a lot. Found a good live version as well. This songs was still pressent in my memories. The live version sound more to how I remeber it, a little bit more raw. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cf3lbnz5sw)
I have this album, like who hasn’t. As an artist he was extremely talented.
I like other tracks better from The Cure, like Friday I'm In Love, Close To Me and A Forest. Which I have added to my playlist.
Nice to have heard. I only knew one song of the album.
Oasis has not been a favorite of mine. but reasonable music.
A nice Bruce Springsteen album. Was nice to listen to.
Nice album.
I did not like the album
Nice album to listen to. For me only a few song that were more familiair as Beatles song. This is a Beatles album that I will listen to again sometime.
Althoug having done the sound for them, in 1984 I think, on one concert in the Netherlands, this is not my music. I could bare to listen to the whole album to pick up memories.
Was nice to listen to but the album did not get to me. Was not bad to me.
No famaliar songs. Not realy a nice album to me.
As far as I know they did not have any hit in the Netherlands. Had never heard of them. The album had a glamor rock sound especially the song 'Back to Mystery City'. That song sounded to me a lot like Mony Mony by Tommy James and the The Shondells.
I think there is a part in me that likes country style music. To me this is a country style album. I liked it. An unknown artist to me. She only reached the Dutch album Top100 for a few weeks on 6 albums of the 14 she released up to now.
Strange, Interesting. Liked it, did not like it. But it had something special.
An unknown band to me. The music did not tough me. I only liked one song a little bit. 'Spiders and Vinegaroons'. It had a nice bild up.
For me an unknown artist. Although I know the song Jackie. Nice easy listening album, with a warm voiced singer.
Not my music
Nice different album. Different then a lot of other 70's albums. I liked it.
The album sound like crooner music. It is pleasant to listen to. I was surprised by the 'recent' release date.
This album with the top song "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone" was nice to listen to.
The Chemical Brothers did not have any hits in The Netherlands as far as I know. Althoug I like electronical music this album was not for me. Only the number Alive Alone had something.
Funy album. Good to have as backgroundmusic. But could not realy intrest me.
Funny album. Not to terrable.
Nice to have heard the album. But it will not go into my playlist.
Nice album. Was nice to listen to. I am a fan of Rod Steward. You could recognize his voice.
Nice album to listen to. I like music from Bruce Springsteen.
Never heard of this group. But nice to listen to.
Not realy my thing.
Nice album to listen to
This album did not do to well in the Netherlands. I found it an interesting album to listen to. Some numbers sounded a bit like Soft Soul. These songs I liked.
This type of Ambiant music is not my type of Ambiant music. Some well know names in the music industry that have worked with Brian Eno on this album.
A funny album.
I like the song Dirty Old Town very much, but 18 songs of The Pogues is a bit much.
A very nice album. I love most Beatles songs. It was some time ago that I had listenend to the whole album.
I had not listend to this album before. I liked it. The best song to me was Starman.
Nice to have heard once more. Two song that are top Spupertramp songs to me. School and Dreamer.
Did not like the album.
I did not like the album
I am not a big fan of rap. As I have to listen to much to the lirics, as english is not my first language. The message in the music will not come over to me therefore. I think it is a good album but no idea what it is about.
Nice to listen to. It was some time ago I had listened to this album. Very nice was the part added for the 25th anniversary.
Fantastic Album. The first time I heard it, a lot of dust was blow around. I worked for a stage power company. Had to test an amplifier and speaker set I just repaired. At that time I did not know the album. As it starts of on a low volume I turned up the volume of the amplifier. You must know this was a sound set for a big theater hall. But after the start of the album it kicks in. The complete hall was shaking and all the dust collected from over years came free. :-) I can tell you everything was working fine. Bought this album almost instantly after this. Still love it. It is my favorite album of Pink Floyd.
Morrissey and the Smiths were not that popular in the Netherlands. I could easily endure the album. Nice to have heard but I don't think I will look the album up once more.
Nice easy listening album
I had never heard of Slint. Some parts were intresting. But don't think I will ever pay this album again.
I did not expect that I could listen to the whole album. But some lirics were intresting. Not that I will listen to this album again. But it was different to what I thought it would be.
I had never heard this album before. Was nice to listen to. The sound that I expected from Led Zeppelin.
Rap is not my music. It has to be special to though me.
I had not listened to this abum before. A few nice songs on this album.
Nice album. His special voice makes it a nice album. And of course because it is easy listening music.
Not my music. It did not get me intrested.
Not my music style. Could not listen to one complete song.
Not all songs are intresting. But there are some songs that I liked. This album was released in the Netherlands but I think I stopt following music more closely after the year 2000. So I had not heard the album before, and had not heard of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds.
The Jam did not have much hits in the Netherlands. A town called Malice was the most famous one in the Netherlands. Nice to have heard this album. The song Start! was the sound of this band I remember.
I liked the song Hollow. As the long intro is more melodic. The last part of the song is more hard metal or what name you want to give it.
I listend to several short parts of all tracks. Some intro's I liked but in overal this is not my music.
This album could not make me listen to a lot of tracks totaly.
I had not listened to this album before. I like the band10cc. From this album I only knew the song The Wall Street Shuffle. Some songs surprised me positively. But the 10cc sound was already there and was recognizable. The album was nice to listen to.
Nice abum. I liked it. I have now learned about Dream Pop en Shoegaze. As far as I know they never had a hitsong in the Netherlands. But did 24 concerts in the Netherlands.
I have not listened to I think any Bob Dylan album before. Of course I know this well known artist and I like several of his famous songs. I enjoyed listening to this album.
I realy liked this album. Blues is one of my many favorites.
I like Billy Joel. Nice album. Nice to listen to. And some songs I recognized.
Well this was one of the many albums I had recorded on a cassette tape. I like the Dire Straits a lot. Loved to listen to this full album again.
Nice album to listen to.
Very nice Album. I have listened to it a lot.
I is not a bad album. But a bit common to me. It is not realy speaking to me.
The song Autobahn has always had a very special place in my music hart. Nice to have heard the complete album. There has been a period in my life I was very much into al kinds of synthesizer music.
I like folk rock. This group was totally unknown to me. Nice to hear the 60's instruments used on the recordings. I can hear ‘Flower Power’ influences. It was good listening to.
For me there were no familiar songs on this album
Very good album from The Eagles with the iconic song 'Hotel California' and some more hits. I like listening to The Eagles songs.
Nice but the album did not though me.
Not to bad.
Jazz is and is not my music. To much improvisation is to much for me. But some part of the Tracks were nice. I like slow and easy listening jazz.
This is not my music.
Not a well known band in the Netherlands. There albums only stayed in the album top100 for 1 or 2 weeks. It was pleasant to listen to.
Jump has been a hitsong in the Neteherlands. It still like to listen to this song once in a while.
A special album as it is a sort of swan song of David Bowie. Although I will remember him more by other songs he has made.
Prince has made some nice music to me. But I do not like all his songs. Nice to have listend to this albm.
Only the first song 'oh baby' I liked a litebit. Not realy an album for me.
A real 1960's record. Funny.
NIce album. I liked listening to it.
His voice stays special. Always nice to hear.
A nice live album of a nice singer. Some songs were well known but overall it was nice to listen to this 1976 live album.
'Walk this way' and 'Sweet Emotion' are well known songs of Aerosmith to me. It was nice to have listend to the album.
A well known name for me. But I had never listend to an album of her. It was pleasant to listen to.
Not realy my music.
One of his best albums. But most albums are OK.
Somethig different. This music is very special. I do not know if I like it or not.
Well known songs. Good to hear. But his shout/singing style is a bit much after a few songs to me.
Very nice to have listend to an album of 'The MAMA'S and the PAPA'S'. I had never listend to an album of them.
Nice to listen to. I like this kind of country en folk music.
Alright music. But not special to me. Not my kind of music.
Nothing wrong with this album. But this Madonna album is not special to me.
Good nice music, nice to listen to.
Not bad. But music that did not get me rightaway.
A nice album.
I had not listened to a lot of his albums. The sound I expected. Nice.
Nice Jazzy music. A jazz form I could listen to.
Nice to have listened to this performance in my birthyear. I can remember this music being played on the radio in my youth.
The record has the sound I would expect from Elton John. These are not yet the songs that are high on my list of Elton John songs.
I like the voice of Emmylou harris. I think I like country music as well. Clear and nice vocals makes it easy to listen to this album.
Only a view songs I liked. If you are in the mood for this kind of music then it alright.
Although having worked as a sound engineer in hard-rock and thrash-metal. I did not really like this album.
In the Netherlands they had some 7 small hits. A nice album but I don't think I will give it a relisten.
For me this is Disco music. I loved it when I was young. Now I still like it after all this years. It survived time. A nice album in total.
A very nice album to listen to. It is not in the top of all the albums I like but very nice.
Very nice album. I realy like the voice of Rod Steward. This already makes the album.
This is realy my kind of music.
One of my favorite The Band songs is on this album.
