Lost In The Dream
The War On DrugsThe same drums at different speeds, that kind of bleh feeling to it, just not for me.

There aren't enough words in the English language to truly express how I feel about this album, all the different emotions it elicits in me, how Sparks still makes me cry without fail. It's such a work of art, no track without reason, everything just beautifully in place. I adore this album and every single memory I have associated with it and its tracks. Just superb.
Uhhhh don't think I can really do death of the author on this one, sorry
This remains one of my favourite albums of all time. So much raw energy and anger, the guitar is aggressively delicious and I can't get over how good the lyrics are.
Absolutely loved this and reminded me I should listen to Goldfrapp more often
What a strong start to the album and it just goes from there really
It's nice, but a little bit bland stylistically. Just very samey
I feel this must have been a seminal album at the time, but it just sounds dated. For stuff that was coming out at the time, like the Beatles, or Rolling Stones, this one just feels sort of lacking. Nothing really all that interesting which would be fine but lyrically it didn't seem inspirational either.
Really enjoyed this one, felt very shoegaze in some ways. I do think musically it's very repetitive, but then again I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.
Considering my only exposure to Joy Division is through Love Will Tear Us Apart, this was certainly an experience. Really liked it, it's going into the répertoire as a firm favourite
I really feel I should have paid more attention to Q-Tip, this album is an absolute classic. Great beats, melodies and rhythms!
I don't think I've ever heard a bad Leonard Cohen album and this is just as good. Just completely heartfelt and it makes me feel so many emotions, grief and joy and elation and sadness, over and over.
Coming right after Cohen was always going to be a challenge but this one doesn't really land for me.
An absolute classic
He's definitely done a lot better than this
This remains one of my favourite albums of all time. So much raw energy and anger, the guitar is aggressively delicious and I can't get over how good the lyrics are.
I feel like this one isn't as interesting as previous Mudhoney albums, but the influence on Nirvana is undeniable. There is such a raw energy here, the shift in tone between songs is really enjoyable and overall I have definitely enjoyed the experience of listening to it.
Top tier album and I feel it only gets better with subsequent listens
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would! Interesting music, good lyrics and a nice overall vibe

Such a strange album this. I really feel that some of the chords in the songs I've 100% heard sampled elsewhere but I can't put my finger on where and I know it's going to drive me crazy now.
Really wasn't for me at all
Lyrically it's good, I mean it's a Bob Dylan album but I guess I just wasn't vibing with it much.
Could this be one of the best debut albums of all time? I wouldn't be surprised. Just so strong from the start ('Human Behaviour' is still a masterpiece) and it continues throughout.
It's... Fine I guess? But you can't follow Bjork with this mellow schmooze really. Sorry Laura I'm sure you were revolutionary at the time.
Cute but not especially memorable
It's cool, I only wanted to be emotionally devastated this afternoon, all good.
It was fine? I can't see this being a memorable one for me
I prefer the later Belle and Sebastian albums, but it's nice to see the roots of what was to come
Oh this was superb! Just what I needed.
I liked it more than I thought I would. Summery vibes all around
I feel like Thursdays are turning into the emotionally devastated days, this is a superb album
Okay, in a pretty aggressive sort of way I guess
Not sure this is their best album, really, but enjoyable nevertheless
I see we're moving the emotional devastation to a Tuesday instead. What a powerful album, and Four Women will surely stay with me for a very long time.
Not really my style of music but certainly better than expected
Well it's not If You Tolerate This Then Your Children Will Be Next and I think that's its biggest problem
Oh this was just superb! Absolutely loved it.
Solid Bowie album, can't complain, but I don't think it's one of his best. Not for me anyway.
This is such a delight of an album, I genuinely enjoyed every part of it.
Really not my jam at all, sorry
I didn't realise how many of the songs on this album had come up in Spotify playlists for me, but really enjoyed this one
Well, one song on this album will be forever tainted for me, I guess, but the rest of it is just so solid, so good that I can't fault it. Can't believe this is the first Beatles album to be thrown up by the random generator either!
Uhhhh don't think I can really do death of the author on this one, sorry
So this is an indictment of American imperialism, but I've had too much Springsteen in too short a span of time. Good album, but not a great one for me
Really solid middle, but the beginning really let it down. I liked the last song on the album though, I feel it ends with a bit of a bang
It's really hard not to love a Cohen album and this one reminds me a lot of Bowie and Blackstar. When you're staring death in the face, what kind of art might you be able to make? Well, this answers that question.
Really cool, unusual too and I just enjoyed it overall.
I knew some of the songs on this album, but the overall thing is a brilliant experience. Loved every second of it, would go back for seconds!
Raw, harsh, by turns aggressive and melancholic.
Jazzy Brazilian vibes all around, a really interesting album
Mostly okay, I can't say I found this engaging or entertaining and I don't care for the band especially.
There is a joy to this album that I didn't expect, and I'm glad I gave it a shot
Well, today is the day I learned that these are the people behind Come On Eileen and I'm not sure I could have guessed that. But overall this has a very jazzy feel which I enjoyed. More horns please!
I mean, it's not Frank, which I believe is the better album lyrically (there is a rawness to it that I feel was polished off in this album), but it's still a superb piece of music. Hearing this the year of its 15 anniversary, when I'm personally 6 years older than Amy ever will be, just underscores how much of a musical talent she was. I know this will be stuck in my head for days now.
Not one bad song on this album, very reminiscent of the Clash
Having never heard of this album or artist I was pleasantly surprised. Huge Broadcast vibes throughout.
Nice, beatsy album though I'm not quite sure how memorable it will be for me in the long run
Love the raw anger coursing through this. Makes me think of so many good nights out spent dancing to Doll Parts
Merely an okay album, not exceptionally memorable for me at all
Really solid and consistent from start to finish
It's a very interesting sound, but not one that I would especially like to visit in future.
This is absolutely not my style of music at all, bleh
A couple of interesting tracks but also a lot of filler. Not really going to listen to this one again anytime soon
Interesting sound, I like the upbeat pop overtones. Funky sounds for sure.
Neil Young may just genuinely not be for me. So much crooning, so little interesting riffs.
I like the upbeat sounds in this one, I gotta say. Pretty funky tunes.
Is it trite to call this seminal? Because it definitely feels that way
It's hard not to love this one, it's so raw and powerful.
Better than expected, I think. I slept on Sheryl Crow when she was super popular but this album did change my mind on it.
An excellent album, with some great songs on there. And I learned I had been mispronouncing the artist name all along.
Absolutely superb album and some extremely memorable tracks
Some good tracks here but the rest of the album sounds too samey to be all that memorable
Edgy and raw, with some excellent riffs
Although it's an album of covers, there is something so very poignant about it. Thrilling, exhilarating and at times quite depressing.
Absolutely loved this and reminded me I should listen to Goldfrapp more often
Really enjoyed the bass lines in this one
Peak dad music, this one
Absolutely brilliant album and dare I say it, better than The Fat of the Land
How very festive.
Interesting but I'm not sure how memorable it will really be
It's interesting but I'm not sure I would revisit this. Would work great as a soundtrack to an RPG though
Great album!
Interesting, though perhaps not my favourite of the bunch
What an excellent seminal album this is. The sounds, the riffs, the entire concept from start to finish.
Not quite sure why everyone thinks this has Radiohead vibes. If it does, it's but a poor imitation.
Absolutely phenomenal album, always worth listening all the way through
Please no more Willie Nelson, I'm good thanks.
Another absolutely phenomenal album, with some iconic tracks in it. The groove, the rhythm, all of it comes together to create a wonderful experience that just doesn't let up.
It's mostly okay? I have an issue with albums that don't feel memorable, either lyrically or musically and this one just feels merely okay. It's not offensive, but I don't think I'll ever go back and actually seek it out.
Decent album, the lyrics definitely stand out and it's the kind of thing that I could possibly go back to revisit, yes.
Incredibly solid album and one that I've gone back to over the years time and again. Sure it will never be Blur for me, but it's damn good.
Great album and vibes, I used to listen to Manu Chao as a teenager and I'm pleased that by and large he still elicits the same joy from me.
Great disco, soul and funk sounds, a classic and one that I definitely want to go back to
I enjoyed this so much more than I thought I would, and I feel I really slept on The Jesus and Mary Chain.
Someone called this dentist rock and now I can't unhear it. I know his credentials but wow yes this is such dentist rock.
Interesting sound, good vibe, but I think there were other albums that came out that year that I would class as more memorable.
It's definitely not his best and at times it veered a bit too much into the Springsteen aesthetic for me to take seriously, but it's also not the worst I've ever heard.
Nice early brit pop, enjoyable and very funky at times
What a great varied album. Some phenomenal tracks in there and even if there is a lack of No Scrubs on this one, it more than makes up for it
It's an interesting album but it's obvious how much Snoop carries it and compared to A Tribe Called Quest I just don't find it as interesting from a musical perspective. Gangsta hip hop was never my thing but this is a cut above stuff that would come later.
So much joy in one album, the psych tones are warm and edgy at the same time and it basically feels like an album made (and made to be enjoyed) on a lot of psychedelic drugs.
I don't know who thought this was death metal but sure Jan okay. Either way, a very solid album with some great riffs and strong vibes throughout.
It's all quite a bit bland isn't it? It's okay, sure and completely inoffensive but nothing worth writing home about.
I enjoyed it alright at the time, but not enough to actually go back to it. Good punk for sure, though.
I mean it's Neil Young, I was never a big fan, but this is basically okay? Like, it's fine. This is fine.
Not bad actually, a band I had never heard of, but that's really good!
Okay but really feels a bit like hotel music on more than a couple of tracks
I think this might be the first Eric Clapton album I've actually sat down and listened to, and you know what? Really easy listening. Enjoyed more than I thought I would.
Very much Beatles vibes in this one, but I really enjoy it! Super funky, the guitar hits just right, basically give me more of them!
This is a great album and go an extent, it's sad to see how over 30 years on, the danger social issues are still at play.
It's not the best disco out there at all. Some okay tracks to start with but it loses steam as it carries on
Absolute classic and what a banger. I was never a big fan of Judas Priest as a teenager and honestly what an idiot teenage me was. I really missed out.
The same drums at different speeds, that kind of bleh feeling to it, just not for me.
If this is a list of 1,001 songs to listen to before you die, of all the Motorhead albums you could have chosen, why this one? The recording quality is so average.
Just so bland and samey
A lot better than I expected, the link between Cream and Black Sabbath is really obvious here. Fuzzy, jammy, rocky music with some really interesting riffs. Sure it's a bit rough around the edges but for a debut, pretty solid.
Really enjoyed it, one I really wasn't familiar with but it absolutely blew me away
It's very heavy on the synth which I really wouldn't have a problem with, but the songs really feel like they bleed into one another. And the biggest banger on the soundtrack being right at the end is just uncool.
So many brilliant bass lines in this one, I absolutely love it.
Some really good sounds on this one
It's okay, like funky tunes but not quite what I was after.
It's merely okay
Decent
This is... The blandest pop so far
Interesting vibes
Better than I expected it to be and it made me realise they're the band behind Weather with You so I guess every day is a learning opportunity
