BeckA bizarre yet unique trip through the imagination of alternative rock and hip hop. Not always spot on, but a darn good experience. Favorites: "Devils Haircut", "Where It's At", "Ramshackle"

Classic. Neil knocked it out of the park with his new, grungy rock sound, and managed to balance it out with a good selection of his well established country folk sound as well. With not a single point feeling waisted here, this made for an exceptional start to what would be exceptional run of albums. Favorites: Cinnamon Girl, Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere, Down by the River, Cowgirl in the Sand
Having only listened to one other Nick Cave album (that being Henry's Dream), I wasn't sure what to expect here having heard it goes in a completely new direction. What I ended up finding was a haunting, yet beautiful record dealing with the subjects of life and death, and all that surrounds it. Not something to represent all of his previous work, but a great listen nonetheless. Favorites: "Spinning Song", "Sun Forest", "Ghosteen"
One of the best Psychadelic albums I've ever listened to. Sure, later Pink Floyd releases would sound barely anything like this, but that's what makes this so good. What we have here is the perfect blend of whimsical nonsense and tripped out experimentation from the genius mind of Syd Barret. This is an album that only the Syd led era of Pink Floyd could produce, and for what it is I adore it dearly. Favorites: Astronomy Domine, Lucifer Sam, Interstellar Overdrive, Bike
The Smiths are the type of band I wish I could like more. Their sound is certainly unique, but generally not gripping enough for me to love them. Regardless, I can recognize that this album is very good, and worth checking out. Favorites: "I Know It's Over", "Bigmouth Strikes Again", "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out"
Preety great and fun rock record. As a fan of David Bowie's work from this era, I really dug this album.
Pretty standout folk record. Favorites: Where do the children play?, Wild World, Sad Lisa
Flourishing vocals and instrumentation, a very solid debut album. Favorites: TC and Honeybear, Marz, It's Easier

Not always what I would pick our, but still a good album. Favorites: The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Up On Cripple Creek, Whispering Pines
With a track list like this, how could it not be 5 stars? Favorites: Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Mothers Talk, Head over Heels
Very solid (Pun Unintended) early heavy metal release. Favorites: Breaking the Law, You Don't Have to Be Old to Be Wise, Living After Midnight
Great album. Never listened to Simone before, but now I'm more curious about her other work. Favorites: Four Women, What More Can I Say?, Wild is The Wind
80s pop that came and went for me. Not much I would go back to on here, not even the hit single. Favorites: It's a Miracle, Changing Every Day
It's Kid, fricking A. What more do I need to say? I will say that this is an album everyone should experience at some point in their lives. Sure, you may be peeved of by the pretentious nature many people who praise this can come across, but it's totally worth it. I may have favorites, but each track on here embodies its own world to me, each with a unique atmosphere compared to the rest. For that reason, and its incredible production, is why I love this so much Favorites: Everything In Its Right Place, The National Anthem, How to Disappear Completely, Optimistic, Idioteque, Motion Picture Soundtrack
A good live country album with a great atmosphere with the prison setting. Favorites: Folsom Prison Blues, Cochise Blues, 25 Minutes to Go
Great psychadelic 90s pick. Favorites: Burning Wheel, Kowalski, Star
While it might be my favorite album from Orbital, this is still a great ambient-ish techno release to check out. Favorites: Sad But True, Science Friction, Are We Here?
Great electronic stuff here. Bonus points for the vocals. Favorites: Water From A Vine Leaf, Harry Flowers, The Story Of Light
I really like this album. The melancholy lyrics mixed with the tripped sounds awesome to get engrossed in. While I don't fully see it as a front to back masterpiece like others, I'm sure it will grow on me overtime. Favorites: Fight Test, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt. 1, In the Morning of the Magitians, Do You Realize??
Pretty good Ska album. Favorites: A Message to You Rudy, Nite Klub, Too Much Too Young
Yeah, this one's very sick. A blend of experimental soundscapes and hard rocking that never felt stale at any point. Favorites: Isi, Seeland, Hero,E-Musik
Loved the big band stuff from the first half, and the ballads were really nice as well. Favorites: Let the Good Times Roll, It Had to Be You, Am I Blue
Good rock stuff here. Favorites: Elected, Billion Dollar Babies, No More Mr. Nice Guy
An incredibly performed show from a peak point in Bob Dylans career. Favorites: "Just Like a Woman", "Tell Me, Momma", "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues"
An Absolute Jam. All of tracks on here are linked perfectly well to create a fantastic experience front to back. Perfect record, nuff said. Favorites: Since I Left You, Radio, Electricity, Frontier Psychiatrist
Lovely album. Fantastic stuff to drift to sleep with. I'm not at the point where I would call this a through and through masterpiece, but it could get there some day. Favorites: When You Sleep, Sometimes, Soon
Very Theatrical with a variety of styles throughout and fascinating lyrical content to dig into. Favorites: Faster, Tightrope, Oh Maker
Great early electronic album with spaced out vibes to it. At times relaxing, and at others mildly creepy. Favorites: Phaedra, Movements Of A Visionary
Solid stuff. Favorites: No Other, Strength of Strings, Some Misunderstanding
Cold, haunting, but all around beautiful. The often spaced out soundscapes match perfectly with bjork's incredible voice. Although admittedly a little too long for my willingness to stick with this sound, I can see why many consider this one of her finest works. Favorites: Cocoon, It's Not Up To You, Aurora
Groovy and bittersweet, love it. Favorites: You Are The Sunshine Of MY Life, You And I, Superstition
Love the soulful vocals on this, really elevated the lyrical content a lot more. Production also kicked ass with its shmancy asthetic for the whole duration of the album. Favorites: You Know I'm No Good, Back To Black, Tears Dry On Their Own, Valerie (from deluxe)
A great selection from 60s pop. Favorites: Sweet Blindness, Poverty Train, Eli's Comin'
100% Rock n Roll with no hesitation. Favorites: Money, What I'd Say, Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On
An album that cements The Rolling Stones in rock history. Favorites: Gimme Shelter, Midnight Rambler, You Can't Always Get What You Want
Brian Eno delivers with a good blend of rock to groove, and music to cool. Favorites: No One Receiving, Julie With, By This River
While I've never looked into the Mambo genre before, this was a very fun record. I'll be glad to put it on more in the future. Favorites: El Cayuco, Cuando Te Vea, Hong Kong Mambo
Pleasant sounds to drift off to. Favorites: Ivo, Lorelei, Otterley
You're spoiling me, 1001 gen. This is a nearly flawless Hip Hop album that combines excellent performances, top tier instrumentals, and an appreciation to the artistry of music. On top of all that, this was probably the album that helped me truly get into Hip Hop music, so thanks ye. Favorites: Dark Fantasy, POWER, So Appalled, Devil In A New Dress, Runaway
A certified staple of 90s britpop for sure. While I find this sound can get a bit repetitive for over 50 minutes, it's still a sound I enjoy. Favorites: Live Forever, Bring It On Down, Slide Away
Good Jazz. Would recommend. Favorites: Brilliant Corners, Pannonica, I Surrender, Dear
Good pick from the Golden era of hip-hop. Favorites: Come into My House, Ladies First, Princess of the Posse
Good stuff. Favorites: Farewell, Farewell, The Lark In The Morning, Crazy Man Michael.
A selection of good to decent bluesy garage rock. A little too long to keep my attention, but still good for the most part. Favorites: "Everlasting Light", "Tighten Up", "The Only One"
A glorious step forward for Queen into stardom. Despite its troubled development, Sheer Heart Attack comes packed with several early standout hits from Queens career, along with excellent deep cuts. This might be on of their first albums to not be afraid to deviate from their typical rock form of music, which helps this album feel a lot more unique from others of the time. Even with their later albums, I still come back to this one, because even on here the band has already mastered the Queen formula to a tea. Favorites: "Brighton Rock", "Killer Queen", "Flick Of The Wrist", "Stone Cold Crazy", "Bring Back That Leroy Brown"
A great glimpse into into the early rise of electronic music. A good album to put on while stuck in a German highway. Favorites: Autobahn, Mitternacht
A bizarre yet unique trip through the imagination of alternative rock and hip hop. Not always spot on, but a darn good experience. Favorites: "Devils Haircut", "Where It's At", "Ramshackle"
Like with the follow-up release, this isn't always my cup of tea, yet there's still much to like here. I should note that I preferred how this is mixed on the 2018 remix, as it gives the music a much needed sense of proper spacing of the intruments. Favorites: "Tears Of Rage", "In A Station", "The Weight"
An enjoyable stroll through 60s pop and soul. Favorites: "Just a Little Lovin'", Son of a Preacher Man", "The Windmills of Your Mind"
A genuinely high quality rock album throughout. I can see why many artists were influenced by this album. Favorites: "Last Child", "Rats In The Cellar", "Nobody's Fault"
Good as background music. Favorites: "Desafinado", "O Pato", "Samba De Uma Nota So"
The excellent splicing of samples makes this a glorious listen. Favorites: "Shake Your Rump", "The Sounds Of Science", "Hey Ladies", "Looking Down The Barrel Of A Gun"
The last great hurrah for Kurt Cobain and Nirvana. A unique selection of songs for this unplugged show helps it stand out, making for a fun listen even on revisits. Favorites: "The Man Who Sold The World", "Lake Of Fire", "Where Did You Sleep Last Night"
A decent album that I found mostly forgettable. Favorites: "Writing To Reach You"
The Smiths are the type of band I wish I could like more. Their sound is certainly unique, but generally not gripping enough for me to love them. Regardless, I can recognize that this album is very good, and worth checking out. Favorites: "I Know It's Over", "Bigmouth Strikes Again", "There Is a Light That Never Goes Out"
Merry Christmas!
Great 80s pick. Holds up well considering the era it came from. Favorites: "I've Been Waiting For Tomorrow", "This Is the Day", "Uncertain Smile"
I really liked the Overdriven production of this one. Very fun and catchy throughout, and a good first taste for me to check out more Manic Street Preachers. Favorites: "Elvis Impersonator",
Silky smooth jazz record. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Favorites: "Street Life", "My Lady", "Carnival Of The Night"
While I do appreciate its intentions, I felt this was mainly carried by the faster tunes rather than the slower ones, which unfortunately became to common for a good portion. Favorites: "Bye Bye Love", "You Don't Know Me", "Hey, Good Lookin'"
A good rock record with an experimental spice to it. Favorites: "Halfway Home", "Love Dog", "DLZ"
I'm not too into the singer, but the lush and somber production holds this indie rock album up pretty well. Favorites: "Terrible Love", "Little Faith", "Bloodbuzz Ohio"
Panic Attack Simulator, the album. This cathartic combination of Prog and Punk creates a record that, while alienating for sure, I find to be an extremely rewarding listen. Favorites: "Roulette Dares", "Eriatarka", "Cicatriz Esp", "Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt"
Great Funk for the Whole Family! Favorites: "P-Funk", "Mothership Connection", "Give Up The Funk"
For the most part, I found this to be a fun listen. A little too long, but still enjoyable. Favorites: "O.G. Original Gangster", "Midnight", "Body Count" (even though it sounds nothing like the rest of the album)
Nice! A blend of alternative rock with Celtic instruments makes this a fun listen, especially in the first half. Favorites: "We Will Not Be Lovers", "Strange Boat", "Sweet Thing"
Ramones are the embodiment of classic punk rock, and their debut album is no exception. Favorites: "Blitzkrieg Bop" (duh), "Beat on the Brat", "Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue"
An incredible album even by today's standards. This is easily one of Santana's finest works that continues to offer me joy with each listen. Favorites: "Black Magic Woman", Oye Como Va", "Hope You're Feeling Better"
Pretty fun, but wasn't very memorable. Favorites: "Part Line", "House In The Country", "Sunday Afternoon"
A classic record to be sure, with plenty of fun to be had. Favorites: "Blue Syede Shoes", "I Got a Woman", "Trying to Get to You"
Pretty good, I enjoyed Cohen's voice, and I look forward to seeing some of his other albums. Favorites: "Bird on the Wire", "Story of Isaac", "The Partisan"
Good, but not much stuck out to me. Favorites: "Let's Get Killed", "Gritty Shaker", "Rodney Yates"
Fantastic! Some of Prince's best work can be found on here, especially with those last three tracks. Not all of the songs may be of the same quality, but this package is too much fun to not check out at least once or twice. Favorites: "Sign O' The Times", "Starfish And Coffee", "Slow Love", All of Side D.
A little long, but very impressive work. I especially liked the use of layering on the tracks Favorites: "The Fear", "This Is Hardcore", "A Little Soul"
A really good late period album from Bob Dylan that showcases fantastic songwriting throughout. Folk music can be hit or miss for me, but this is one of the better ones. Favorites: "Standing in the Doorway", "Trying to Get to Heaven", "Make You Feel My Love"
Pretty good for the time. Not too much to get out of it nowadays. Favorites: "A Girl Like You", "Groovin'", "You Better Run"
A very fun, funky and soulful record. Favorites: "That Lady", "Summer Breeze", "The Highways of My Life"
Extremely soulful stuff. Had a blast with this listen, and I'm certain I'll need to check out more of this stuff. Favorites: "Peace Go With You, Brother", "Rivers of My Fathers", "The Bottle", "Song for Bobby Smith"
Sounds weird, but I dig its weirdness. Favorites: "Clap Hands", "Jockey Full Of Bourbon", "Downtown Train"
As someone who only knows about this style of music in passing, this was a nice treat to hear. Favorites: "Chan Chan", "El Cuarto de Tula", "Amor de Loca Juventud"
A Classic from Frank Sinatra for sure. While not every track hits, this whole album was just plain fun to listen to. Here's the gist, if you like the Fallout game's upbeat radio music, you'll like this album. Favorites: "You Make Me Feel So Young", "Too Marvelous For Words", "I've Got You Under My Skin"
The Police sure knew where to end it with this classic record. Filling it to the brim with fun bops around every corner. Not all of it lands for me, but it's still a great listen. Favorites: "Synchronicity II", "King Of Pain", "Murder By Numbers"
When I saw that I would be listening to a two hour long country bluegrass record today, admittedly I dreaded for the worst. However, to my surprise, I enjoyed this listen quite a bit, at least with an intermission break included midway. I had forgotten how fun bluegrass music can be, and this album proved that by a mile and a half. Not all of the tracks stick, but I enjoyed the vibe of this album enough to stick the whole way through. Favorites: "Nashville Blues", "Tenessee Stud", "Will The Circle Be Unbroken"
Eminem's first proper album to hit the mainstream, while shocking today for some with it's subject matter, still holds up as a great record. Favorites: "My Name Is", "Role Model", "Rock Bottom"
While missing a good chunk of the experimentation from prior albums, The Velvet Ungerground prove themselves as great songwriters with this well produced album. Favorites: "Candy Says", "What Goes On", "Pale Blue Eyes"
Good album, but it deviates into generic pop a little too much. Generally, it is all very good. Favorites: "Like A Prayer", "Express Yourself", "Love Song"
Solid Debut, but I wasn't too invested into it. Favorites: "Requiem", "Wardance", "The Wait"
This album rules, plain and simple. It bends the mind with its hypnotic fusion of blues and psychadelics. A huge influence on the late 60s psych scene, and it still kicks ass today. Favorites: "Manic Depession", "Hey Joe", "The Wind Cries Mary", "Fire", "Red House"
Really solid follow up from Morrissey after the death of The Smiths. Similar to my feelings of that band, I enjoy this album best in brief intervals rather than the whole. Still, this I'd a very good album nonetheless. Favorites: "Alsatian Cousin", "Everyday Is Like Sunday", "Suedehead"
Very solid grunge of the 90s, yet it doesn't feel as notable as other grunge records. Still gotta admire Courtney Loves charisma through all the songs. Favorites: "Violet", "Doll Parts", "Credit In The Straight World"
Groovy laid back beats. Little Simz flow was on point all the way through. Really good album, almost edges on a perfect 5. Favorites: "Venom", "101 FM", "Flowers"
A pleasant late 60s listen that at its best could stand head to head with its Beatles competition. Favorites: "David Watts", "Death of a Clown", "End of the Season", "Waterloo Sunset"
Wonderful folk sound from Bruce Springsteen. Favorites: "Atlantic City", "Johnny 99", "State Trooper"
I dig the reggae influenced post punk sound. Favorites: "Instant Hit", "So Tough", "Typical Girls"
I prefer the smile sessions version of this, but it's still very good. Gotta commend the fact this got made in the first place. Favourites: "Heroes and Villains", "Cabin Essence", "Surf's Up"
Overall it's good, but not enough to hook me in. Favourites: "Date With The Night", "Pin", "Maps"
A fun romp with the zany introduction to devo. Favorites: "Uncontrollable Urge", "(I Can't Get No) Satisfsction", "Gut Feeling / (Slap Your Mammy)"
A good choice of 90s skater punk. For what it is, it's fun. Favourites: "Bad Habit", "Gotta Get Away", "Self Esteem"
I kind of felt bored listening to this, but it's pleasant music at least. Favourites: "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", "It's Just The Way", "Trafalgar"
Good bits of old fink fun. Favourites: "Funky Music Sho Nuff Turns Me On", "Papa Was A Rollin'", "Love Woke Me Up This Morning"
Very good reggae tunes with it's own identity. Favorites: "Marcus Garvey", "Slavery Days", "Live Good"
Despite it's online acclaim over the years, I haven't gotten around to listening to this until now. Very fun, tripy songs here to come back to. Favourites: "My Girls", "Summertime Clothes", "Brother Sport"
Why was Jeff Buckley taken so soon? Favourites: "Mojo Pin", "Last Goodbye", "So Real", "Hallelujah", "Forget Her" (Bonus)
Great funky instrumental Jazz. A stone-cold classic in the genre. Favourites: "Chameleon", "Watermelon Man"
Willie Nelson does a good job performing these old fun standards. Favourites: "Stardust", "Blue Skies", "On the Sunny Side of the Street"
Great jam filled soul here. Favourites: "Walk On By", "Hyperbolicsyllabicsesquedalymistic"
Enjoyed the vocals a lot. Favourites: "The Last Living Rose", "The Words That Maketh Murder", "On Battleship Hill"
A Classic that offers weird, but fun offerings. A lot of the songs here are great, but I'm hesitant to call it a 5 star favourite. Favourites: "Sunday Morning", "Venus In Furs", "Heroin", "European Son"
Good early new wave. Favorites: "Precious", "Brass in Pocket", "Mystery Achievement"
Notable for it's inclusion of Eric Clapton on Guitar, this offers plenty of fun blues tunes, but not all of it sticks. Favourites: "All Your Love", "Hideaway", "Little Girl"
Ahead of its time, there's still nothing quite like this. Favourites: "See No Evil", "Marquee Moon", "Elevation"
Fun early grunge EP Favourites: "Need", "In 'n' Out of Grace"
One of the more zany releases, but a very fun one. Favourites: "This Town Ain't Big Enough For Both Of Us", "Here In Heaven", "Thank God It's Not Christmas"
Cool instrumentals with politically charged lyrics. I dig it. Favourites: "Television The Drug Of The Nation", "Hypocrisy Is The Greatest Luxury", "Music And Politics"
Good funk, on a metric of bongos, there were many. Funny to find out here that one sports Anthem was "Apache". Favourites: "Apache", "Bongolia, "Last Bongo in Belgium"
I Thought this would be more pop than punk. Was pleasantly surprised. Favourites: "One Way Or Another", "Picture This", "I'm Gonna Love You Too"
First listen to this, Good among other albums of the time, but not really for me. Favourites: "Knuckleheadz", "Ice Cream", "Heaven & Hell"
Very consistent album from the stones here. I enjoyed this. Favourites: "Synpathy For The Devil", "Jigsaw Puzzle", "Salt Of The Earth"
Decent pick of Alt Rock that's occasionally generic, but with some bright spots here and there. Favourites: "Gentlemen", "Debonair", "Brother Woodrow"
A kick-ass grunge classic with a focus on heavy subject matter lyraclly. Outside of some tracks in the middle, all of the songs here could pass as singles for how heavy and memorable they are. Favourites: "Them Bones", "Rain When I Die", "Down In A Hole", "Rooster", "Angry Chair"
Not sure if I'm a fan of her voice or not. Good singles, but most of it was forgettable. Favourites: "Money Changes Everything", "Girls Just Want to Have Fun", "Time After Time"
Meh. Very dated party hip hop that just wasn't for me. Favourites: "Renegades Of Funk"
Loving the soft vibe of this with its jazzy, bluesy folk rock influences. Favourites: "Darkness, Darkness", "On Sir Francis Duke", "Sunlight"
A highly energetic glam rock record that would influence what would become punk rock. For an early stab at it, this was really great. Favourites: "I Got You Babe", "Master Race Rock", "(I Live For) Cars and Girls"
A very solid 70s aerosmith-esque classic rock revival from the 90s. Favourites: "Twice As Hard", "Hard To Handle", "Stare It Cold"
The Smiths tend to sway from good to meh for me, but I enjoyed this album a good bit. Favourites: "Nowhere Fast", "Well I Wonder", "Barbarian Begins at Home"
Ever since I started getting deeper into music listening, I've noticed that I tend to find the Post-Punk genre (and some extent Gothic Rock) to be a mixed-bag. Some bands I can dig, but frequently I'll find particurally acclaimed bands that I can't really get behind all too well. With bands like Joy Division, Wire, and The Cure, I'll find myself enjoying them from time to time, but I never find enough in them to really stick with me for long. With this in mind, Juju was a great surprise to me. Nearly all of the tracks are crafted incredibly well in its dark, yet somehow inviting atmosphere with just the right kind of production. If there's one thing here that stands out the most though, it would be Siouxsie's vocal work across this record. Such a perfect voice for this style of music in my opinion. Fantastic Album. Would recommend. Favourites: "Spellbound", "Into The Light", "Monitor", "Night Shift"
A sure highlight of 70s pop music. I might come back to this more. Favourites: "So Gar Away", "It's Too Late", "Way Over Yonder"
The perfect amount of whimsical indie rock joy condensed to 10 tracks. Favourites: "The State I'm In", "Electronic Resonance", "We Rule The School"
Hole does a decent job aiming for a more commercial alt rock sound. Favourites: "Celebrity Skin", "Malibu", "Petals"
Not much to say, this was a very enjoyable soundtrack. Favourites: "Playground Love", "Dirty Trip", "Highschool Lover"
A band with Ska, funk and metal influences turns out to be very fun. Favourites: "Freddie's Dead", "Ma and Pa", "Boninx In the Boneyard"
Fiona Apple creates some very detailed songs here. Very good stuff, which might be close to a 5 for me. Favourites: "Under The Table", "Newspaper", "Cosmonauts"
One of the best post-hardcore releases that still feels true to its punk orgins. Favourites: "Repeater", "Blueprint", "Shut The Door"
Sounds more like something from the late 60s than 76, but it's pretty competent. Favourites: "Love And Affection", "Join The Boys", "Tall In The Saddle"
I think I like this. One of the more early takes on creating art out of music outside of classical, and it ended up being very enjoyable. Chaotic, but good. Favourites: "Solo Dancer", "Duete Solo Dancers"
This is all well played, but nothing's really catching me here. Favourites: "On A Rope"
Some good blues rock with a Proto-Zeppelin hard rock flair. Favourites: "Morning Dew", "Beck's Bolero", "I Ain't Superstitious"
*CSI Intro Plays* (YEAAAAAAAAHHH) Objectively The Who's best album. Plenty of all time classic tracks here that deserve to be overplayed. Favourites: "Baba O'Riley", "Bargain", "The Song Is Over", "Won't Get Fooled Again"
A little lesser known than his other albums, this offers some great tracks, mainly on the first half. Favourites: "Smile Please", "Heaven Is 10 Zillion Light Years Away", "Boogie On Reggae Woman"
One Show, One Man, and One barely functioning Piano. A fascinating story behind this recording, and the improvised piano work is excellent here. At an hour in length, this wouldn't be something I want to do full returns to, but I am very glad I listened to this. Favourites: Pt. 1, Pt. 2 C
Plenty of fun 80s synthy tracks, but it goes on a bit too long with a good chunk of filler. Favourites: "Welcome To The Pleasuredome", "Relax", "The Power Of Love"
This one's a bit bizarre, right? Leonard Cohen, famed folk artist, puts out a late 80s album featuring his expected story-telling roots on top of some greatly dated 80s production featuring plenty of keyboard synths and female backing singers. On paper this sounds terrible, but in practice it does pull through with its strong songwriting. If you can get used to the dated style of production, there is a lot to enjoy here. Personally, I still feel a bit juxtaposed by its production, and folk music already isn't my usual thing, so I can't say I'm into this that much. Favourites: "First We Take Manhattan", "Everybody Knows", "I'm Your Man"
A lot of quality tracks here, as well as some good variety in styles to keep it from being stale. Favourites: "How Many Mics", "Ready or Not", "Killing Me Softly With His Song"
Zany artist Frank Zappa mostly restrains himself into making this jazz rock classic. Favourites: "Peaches En Regalia", "Willie The Pimp", "Son Of Mr Green Genes"
A sheer blast of hard punk fun that respects your time. Favourites: "Betray", "It Follows", "Out Of Step"
Fantastic Psych record. At times sounding like a continuation of pet sounds era beach boys, while still holding its own as a great 60s pop album. My only wish is for the mono version to be more readily available. Favourites: "Care Of Cell 44", "This Will Be Our Year", "Time of the Season"
Pretty fun! Not outstanding, but still fun. Favorites: "Blueberry Hill", "What's the Reason", "Troubles of My Own"
B.B. King gives a great performance on this show, I and the audience can agree to that. For someone not too familiar with blues music, I still found this pretty enjoyable. Favorites: "Every Day I Have The Blues", "Please Love Me", "Worry, Worry"
Pantera for me will always make for a good listen with their signature aggressive groove metal. Vulgar Display displays the band at full force in that field, making for quite the classic metal record. The first 5 tracks especially are some of my favorite metal songs in general. The second half falls a bit short, but it's overall an excellent time. Favorites: "A New Level", "Walk", "Fucking Hostile", "This Love", "Hollow"
A great comeback record from the fun funky rock collective RHCP. While there are some flaws like its weaker second half, and occasionally I would call this album too safe for them, it's still a fun time with plenty of great tracks to offer. A perfect time to listen here on the summer beach as well. Favorites: "Parallel Universe", "Scar Tissue", "Otherside"
Maybe I wasn't in an Eminem mood, but I found myself enjoying The Slim Shady lp more than this. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of great tracks here, some of Eminem's all time greatest even. At the same time, the quality here feels more all over the place. Em's trademark anger, while handled well in some places, can feel pretty tiring for this albums duration. I also wasn't too keen on how much he focused on his growing popularity in the lyrics, like its fine for two songs, but especially towards the middle of the album it felt like thats all he wanted to talk about. Favorites: "Stan", "The Real Slim Shady", "Drug Ballad"
Abbrassive industrial rock not too dissimilar to nine inch nails. I did enjoy this, but it could of been shorter. Favorites: "The Beautiful People", "Tourniquet", "Angel With The Scabbed Wings"
Plenty of fun, youthful, Rock and Rollin bops here, bur not much beyond that for me. Favorites: "Tutti Frutti", "Can't Believe You Wanna Leave", "Long Tall Sally"
A great pick of early hard rock with plenty of great moments. Favorites: "Speed King", "Bloodsucker", "Child in Time"
I've listened to Pet Shop Boys previously, and I can tell by this point they have mastered their signature Synthpop sound. I might have to come back to this to see if I think more highly of it due to how many quality dance bops it has. Favorites: "Being Boring", "To Face the Truth", "So Hard"
An impressive display of soulful performance. Favorites: "A Change Is Gonna Come", "Down In the Valley", "My Girl"
Another one of Aerosmiths really solid 70s releases with some of their biggest hits. Not quite the same consistency as their next album Rocks, but it's still very fun. Favorites: "Toys In The Attic", "Walk This Way", "Sweet Emotion"
Pretty good grunge record. There weren't many tracks that stood out to me, but it was enjoyable the whole way through. Favorites: "Good Enough", "Broken Hands", "Move Out"
Nu-Metal may be a mixed bag, but at the very least it brought SOAD to the mainstream. With a debut like this, that's honestly pretty shocking. With some exceptions, most of the songs are filled with bizarre choices in structure where any song could change its intensity at the flip of a switch. That, along with Serj's wide range of wacky ways to sing and scream, can understandably turn off many people, but if you're into the experimental side of music and metal, even if just a little bit, this is absolutely worth checking out. Overall, I love this album. While I consider later albums more accessible and better, I was still really glad to revisit this. Favorites: "Suite-Pee", "Sugar", "Suggestions", "War?"
An early dance hip-hop album that doesn't even feel like hip-hop for a good chunk of its time. When it does though, it's actually pretty good for the time. Favorites: "She's Fresh", "The Message", "The Adventure of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheel of Steel"
One of the more noteworthy albums from the psychadelic rise of the 60s, there's plenty here to be invested in. A sprawling production featuring horns and strings with just enough psychadelic trip outs sprinkled in. If you love stuff like the Beatles and the Zombies, then definitely don't skip this one. Favorites: "Alone Again Or" "A House Is Not a Motel", "The Red Telephone"
Amy's debut album compared to her follow up features a more contemporary R&B sound with trip hop influences, but there is still plenty of classic nuances present as well. Amy's voice sounded incredible even on here, and overall the album's a great time. Favorites: "Stronger Than Me", "You Sent Me Flying", "(There Is) No Greater Love"
I'm a little perplexed by this one. There's much to like here with it's grooving energy and variety, but there isn't anything too notable here, and the weirder bits added to the music don't gel well for me. Favorites: "Wake Up And Make Love With Me", "Sweet Gene Vincent", "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll"
Pretty solid collection of Hip Hop here. Favorites: "When Will They Shoot?", "It Was A Good Day", "Check Yo Self"
Loved the vocals here. Favorites: "Cracking", "Marlene On The Wall", "Some Journey"
Solid combination sof country, jazz and pop here. Favorites: "I Wish I Didn't Love You", "Black Coffee", "I'm Down to My Last Cigarette"
Another solid 70s pop rock album. Favorites: "Driving Along", "Without You", "Junp Into The Fire"
Not mind blowing, but pretty solid glam rock Favorites: "Personality Crisis", "Trash", "Jet Boy"
Pretty good, but could of been shorter. Favorites: "Whatever Happened to Pong?", "Calistan", "Headache"
Good country Favorites: "California Stars", "Way Over Yonder in the Minor Key", "Ingrid Birdman"
Smooth production, not all tracks land but I really dig several of them. Favorites: "Black Cow", "Aja", "Peg"
It's got American Pie, which for me is one of the few long songs that completely deserves its length. Other than that, the rest here is still very good, offering fun folk rock and really comforting folk tunes. Favorites: "American Pie", "Till Tonorrow", "The Grave"
Before Forever Changes, the band Love were rocking out pretty well. For the time, this is pretty good, but I can't say the 19 minute long Revelation was worth the length. Favorites: "Stephanie Knows Who", "Orange Skies", "Seven and Seven Is"
A short but sweet collection of river side tracks. Favorites: "Green River", "Wrote A Song For Everyone", "Bad Moon Rising"
One of the more solid early 90s hip hop records with a mix of tribe called quest production and vocals that don't take themselves too seriously. Favorites: "Oh Shit", "Passin' Me By", "Otha Fish"
When Mike Patton isn't a complete madman with his other projects, he's out here with Faith No More offering some good and fun funk metal tracks. I especially got a kick from the two bonus tracks at the end. Favorites: "Epic", "Falling to Pieces", "The Real Thing"
His debut may not be too special, but it is a very solid kind of basic from Tom Petty. Favorites: "Rockin' Around (With You)", "Breakdown", "American Girl"
Some early 80s alt rock with punk DNA thrown in. I dig it. Favorites: "Androgynous", "Black Diamond", "Unsatisfied"
A double album by Fleetwood Mac on paper could've been a slog to sit through, but two factors of this album stopped that from happening. For one, Lindsey Buckingham's tracks brought a good amount of variety and new wave-ish stylings to keep the Fleetwood formula from feeling stale. And second, Stevie Nick's tracks in general are pretty top notch, possibly on the level of Rumours. It's not perfect, most of Christine Mcvie's work feels generic, and Buckingham's experimentation can be a mixed bag in some areas. But overall I did enjoy this a lot more than expected. Favorites: "Sara", "Sisters of the Moon", "Tusk"
A good highlight of glam rock here. Favorites: "All the Way from Memphis", "Ballad of Mott The Hoople", "I'm a Cadillac / El Camino Dolo Roso"
Very groovy funk stuff. Favorites: "Poet", "Family Affair", "Runnin' Away"
First time listening to Tim Buckley, and it's not quite what I expected. There's a lot of honky tonk energy here, not too dissimilar from some of the stuff The Rolling Stones did. Overall this album is good, but there wasn't much stand out stuff here. Favorites: "Get On Top", "Sweet Surrender", "Make It Right"
An enjoyable bit of Funk Rock. Favorites: "One Nation Under a Groove", "Groovalegiance", "Who Says a Funk Band Can't Play Rock?!"
A bit similar to The Flaming Lips, which should make sense since some people on here would do some work for that group. Most of the songs here are very solid and worth checking out. Favorites: "Holes", "Endlessly", "Goddess on a Hiway"
Not their best, but still a very good record from Black Sabbaths peak. Favorites: "Wheels of Confusion", "Supernaut", "Under the Sun"
I may not be too familiar with reggae, but I can see why this is a classic. Favorites: "Stir It Up", "Kinky Reggae", "No More Trouble"
Sometimes repetitive, but enjoyable. Not the worst country out there. Favorites: "I've Got a Tiger By the Tail", "Wham Bam", "Cryin' Time"
Kraftwerk proves how to make good train station music. Favorites: "Europe Endless", "The Hall of Mirrors", "Trans-Europe Express"
Some vocal similarities to Steven Wonder, but it's great regardless. Feels pretty timeless as well with the production. Favorites: When You Gonna Learn, Too Young to Die, Music of the Mind
Favorites: Child's Christmas In Wales, Andalucia, Paris 1919
Favorites: Sunshine Superman, Bert's Blues, Season of the Witch
Maybe I've listened to too much stuff, but I don't feel too interested in The Rolling Stones anymore. I can recognize this as one of their best works though. Favorites: Wild Horses, Dead Flowers, Moonlight Mile
I know there are better beatles albums, but this is still amazing. One of the most consistent batches of mid-60s pop put on to tape. Favorites: You Won't See Me, Michelle, Girl, In My Life, If I Needed Someone
Very solid country rock Favorites: Guitar Town, Hillbilly Hoghway, Down The Road
An excellent showcase for Q-Tip's prowess in great music. Favorites: Won't Trade, Official, Dance On Glass
