Arrival
ABBAAlways just ignored Abba. But this forced to me to listen to them properly, and it was very enjoyable. "Dancing Queen", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Money, Money, Money" and "Fernando" were the standout songs on the album.
Always just ignored Abba. But this forced to me to listen to them properly, and it was very enjoyable. "Dancing Queen", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Money, Money, Money" and "Fernando" were the standout songs on the album.
Fantastic musicians playing classic rifts and great solos. Very good live album, crowd not annoying like in some live albums.
Really like the album as an intro to metal. Favourite songs are "Freak on a a Leash", "Children of the Korn" and "Seed"
Great album. "Little Wing", "Castles Made of Sand" and "Bold As Love" my favourite songs on the album.
Pretty boring and think calling himself a soul machine is a bit of false advertising.
Nice, fairly chill, easy listening. Nothing standout though. Perfect Day and Wagon Wheel best songs on the album.
Gentle and slow album mostly. Seems to get heavier towards the end of the album. Wouldn't pick myself, but no issue if someone else put it on. Enjoyed Old Man, and Alabama
Rough and raw sounding, some nice instrumental parts but overall not for me. Though did like Gold Soundz
Very dream like. Something completely different for me. Can't understand the vocals but they seem to blend well so feels more like an instrumental album to me.
Inoffensive pop, nothing special though by today's standards in my opinion.
Never heard of these before. Really like the jazz, rock and blues vibe mix throughout the album. Which flows very well. Very fun listen and easy to bop along to. Like: Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?" And "Point 58" Dislike: Free form Guitar
Nice voice and songwriting. Obviously like House of the Rising Sun. Kind of music to fall asleep to
Solid Album throughout, no standout songs though. Would happily listen to again. Like "Any Major Dude Will Tell You" and "Pretzel Logic" the most
Kind of boring, found myself drifting off and not really paying attention to the music.
Fun, angsty punk. A bit samey throughout the album, but no bad songs. Like. "Newboys" and "Safety in Numbers" the most
A unique album to me. Worth a listen to for the lyrics, and I quite like the style of his voice. Some nice instrumental parts for example on "If I was with a woman".
A mixed bag of an album. Simple rock with a bit of country. Liked "Night they Drove Old Dixie Down" and "Up on Cripple Creek". But "Whispering Pines" seemed out of place on the album in my opinion. Though still enjoyable overall
Apart from "Bust" didn't like any other songs. Was a hard listen due to the length of the album(s)
Really like the album as an intro to metal. Favourite songs are "Freak on a a Leash", "Children of the Korn" and "Seed"
Always just ignored Abba. But this forced to me to listen to them properly, and it was very enjoyable. "Dancing Queen", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Money, Money, Money" and "Fernando" were the standout songs on the album.
Heavy guitar riffs, great vocals with strong drums and bass lines, what's not to like. "Run to the Hills", "Gangland" and "Hallowed By Thy Name" are the best songs imo. Only negative is it can get a bit repetitive
Pretty fun punk-rock album. "No You're Product" and "I'm Misunderstood" heavier than the rest of the album, but also my favourite songs on the album. Found the first half of the album was a bit samey, 2nd half more enjoyable.
Fantastic musicians playing classic rifts and great solos. Very good live album, crowd not annoying like in some live albums.
Found this quite a boring listen. Though liked "Radio Cure".
Loud angry noise.
A very nostalgic, typical Offspring sounding album. Very bouncy music, fun lyrics to sing along to. An enjoyable listen throughout, especially the singles.
Solid Album, but nothing special
Unique vocals, but wouldn't call it singing. Also I got a Christmas album vibe from the music. Not for me
I'm not a rap fan. But this sounds better than most, but won't be adding it to my library. They make the movie sound clips work well. I liked "Can It All Be So Simple"
Great album, "Walk this Way" and "Sweet Emotion" were my favourite songs on the album.
Brilliant album. Not a song I dislike on the album. "For all the Cows" is fantastic in my opinion.
Great album, flows really well, numerous great songs, "Today" probably my favourite. I would definitely add to my physical music collection.
Pretty meh album. Nothing wrong with the album, but nothing that standouts either. It would be alright background music. "Step On" probably the best song in my opinion
Most interesting thing about this album is the artwork
Very good album with lots of standout individual songs. I did take a break half way through. Though, I feel like a 2 hour album should flow better to prevent zoning out or getting bored.
Think I'm completely the wrong audience for this album. Half of it just sounds like a metronome to me.
Really like his raspy voice and song writing. It is quite a dark album but a very enjoyable listen. "Make You Feel My Love" is a beautiful song.
Nice listen, don't think it's his best album though. "Wild is the Wind" my favourite on the album.
A bit more musical than some other electronic albums I've heard, and not just annoying noise. Expect the intro and outro which are so annoying, don't understand why you would want to annoy the listener at the start and end of an album, which makes it a 1 star not 2 for me.
Unpleasant noises for over an hour. Don't think there's anything about the album I like.
Alright album, nice flow for the latter half of the album. Liked "Sex Machine" the most.
Nice album, but nothing standout or special for me. "Like Dylan in the Movies" was my favourite song on the album
Classic blues album, some great solos. "I'm Your Hoochie Coohie Man" my favourite song on the album.
Wasn't a fan of the first 2 songs on the album. But then thought "Firth of Fifth" and "More Fool Me" were brilliant, then after that a mixed bag, but still enjoyable overall.
Don't really know what to say except meh. Some nice bits but not all that interesting to me.
Sounds like a mix between Tool and Muse, to me there was some nice things attempted just doesn't hit the mark for me.
Fun, foot tapping folk album. "Way Over Yonder In The Minor Key" my favourite song on the album, also liked "One By One"
Solid album. She has an incredible voice and works with very talented musicians. Really like the jazz and soul vibe.
Don't really know much jazz. But this was overall a nice listen, more background music for me than active listening. Liked "Mandela" and "The Wedding" the most.
Alright album nothing special or standout to me. I found the intro to "By the Time I get to Phoenix" somewhat boring. Which is a shame for a track which takes up nearly a third of the album length.
Nice metal album overall. Some really good songs like "Psychosocial" and "Snuff". Though also some boring ones which can drag a bit.
Heavy riffs and a lot of them, and Lemmy's voice. "Ace of Spades" and "Jailbait" the two best songs in my opinion. The album can get repetitive but short enough to not get boring in my opinion.
Enjoyable, but probably won't go back and re-listen to it.
Really liked this album, the flute surprised me. But it works well in my opinion.
Nothing standout in my opinion or any reason to be excited by this album, just alright.
A quick, fun, pop, punky album. Liked "I'm Not Angry" and "Alison" the most. No song that I disliked either.
Great album. "Little Wing", "Castles Made of Sand" and "Bold As Love" my favourite songs on the album.
Pleasant background music.
Very relaxing and enjoyable, though don't think any particular song is that memorable.
Nice melodies and jazz like solos. But I couldn't really get into the album. "Black Magic Women / Gypsy Queen" my favourite song on the album.
A talented singer songwriter, but I just can't get into it and find it rather boring.
I guess this album could be described as peaceful, especially "Mysterious Semblance at the Strand of Nightmares". But think this album would be significantly more interesting if you were high, I'm unlikely to listen to it again.
Well they can play guitar, and do so a lot...
Seems like a simple fun album, but not really for me. "It's Like That" and "30 Days" my favourite songs on the album.
Calm and relaxing album. Would be nice background music, "The Ocean" my favourite song. All the songs are very similar, nothing extremely standout either good nor bad.
Get a Coldplay/Snow Patrol vibe from this. Just not as good as them in my opinion. Favourite song is the hidden track after "Slide Show".
Some cool things done throughout the album, quite unique to me at least. "Purple Rain" the best song for me.
"Papa was a Rollin' Stone" was alright, other than that not that interesting.
Not for me, but can understand why people would like it though.
Absolutely fantastic, most of the songs are the album are brilliant. Would happily listen if any of the songs on the track came on in a playlist, radio etc.
Really catchy pop music. Surprisingly fun to listen to, half the songs are definitely single worthy.
Lovely voice and nice simple backing tracks to that. Like "Miss Chatelaine" the most. Not knowing anything about her or the album "Constant Craving" seemed like a change of tone, but a nice ending to the album.
This is not for me, every song sounded the same more or less.
Quite a nice album, no brilliant songs, but nothing harsh or unpleasant either. Happy to have on as background music.
After the first Tom Waits album I got, I thought I wouldn't enjoy this one either. But surprisingly I really enjoyed this obe. His style really works for this album and the songs. "Cemetery Polka" my favourite song
Not that interesting, probably wouldn't listen again.
Alright album, would say apart from "Bad Company" it's a fairly average. I also personally think there are covers better than the original of "Bad Company".
An interesting album with an unique sound. "Clint Eastwood" is phenomenal, but the rest of the album, although good doesn't live up to the standard set by that song.
Quiet a nice album, a fairly relaxing listen. "Paisagem da Jenela" and "Saídas e Bandeiras nº 2" the two best songs on the album in my opinion.
Something new and a very different style of music for me. I feel the album starts off really strong especially the first 4/5 songs, but towards the end I feel the quality decreases and I started to lose interest. "Fisherman's Blues" and "Sweet Thing" my favourite songs on the album
Not my thing
As a newer QOTSA fan, this is enjoyable and has the sound I was expecting and a lot of nice guitar riffs. However, for me this is not as good as their newer albums such as "Villains" and "Like Clockwork"
Pretty boring and think calling himself a soul machine is a bit of false advertising.
Didn't listen to the full 4+ hour version, just the best of version. Her voice is beautiful, this is a very warming/comforting album.
Alright, doesn't live up to "Toys in the Attic" in my opinion though. However, still a fun energetic, hard rock album but to me nothing truly special on this one.
Just not as good as the other metal I have listened to. Not a painful listen but just not that fun either.
Really relaxing listen. Great to do some work to or just to listen and wind down. "Messy Bessie" my favourite song on the album.
A weird combination of genres, seems like it goes between pop, folk and prog rock numerous times throughout the album. Yet none of the switches in sound are jarring. I get a ELO and Jethro Tull vibe mostly. "Freedom Rider" and "John Barleycorn (Must Die)" my favourite songs on the album.
The album starts of really strong with "Willow" and finishes strong with "Evermore". However the middle gets a bit samey for me. I like the new kind of style for this compared to Taylor's previous work, but I wish she went even further with it.
Seemed a bit confused to me, somewhere between rock, indie and punk. Starts off well with "Teen Age Riot" but goes down hill from there in my opinion and I started to lose interest.
Solid album, really enjoyed the singer songwriter aspect of the album. However the musical aspect seemed a bit of an odd choice to me and prevents the album being a 5 star for me at least. "First We Take Manhattan" probably my favourite song, but all songs were enjoyable.
Didn't really enjoy this album. The second half of the album was definitely better than the first though, felt the first few songs were too loud that I couldn't even hear the singer at all. "Eau d'bedroom Dancing" my favourite track.
Really liked this. Sounds like a b-side to "Favourite Worse Nightmare" to me. "Separate and Ever Deadly" my favourite track.
Simple and chill, don't know what else to say about it. But a great album to just have on while working on something else. "Can You Kick It" and "Youthful Expression" my favourite tracks.
A weird and mixed bag of tracks in my opinion. I liked "Baby" and "Sister Midnight". But found "Nightclubbing" and "Mass Production" so annoying that I wouldn't want to listen to the album in full again.
Nothing special but nothing bad about it either for me at least. "Piece of My Heart" the most enjoyable track.
Weird and not in a good way.
Alright, not a bad listen but also not something I'd probably revisit. Though I did somewhat like his voice, felt quite powerful.
Had only ever listened to the 'hits' before, so this is my first time listening to the entire album. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I already knew I liked the hits and the Guns N' Roses sound. i also thought the rest of the tracks were a fun listen, especially "Mr. Brownstone" and "My Michelle". However, "Rocket Girl" was slightly odd.
Something very different for me. I liked some of the pipe/wind stuff. But overall I just couldn't get into this
Surprisingly I somewhat enjoyed this, but still the majority of rap/hip-hop is not for me. "The World is Yours" and " Halftime" were my favourite tracks.
Quite liked this. Seemed simple but that made it easy to listen to, and for him to get his message across. "The Winter of the Long Hot Summer" and "Hypocrisy is the Greatest Luxury" my favourite tracks.
Alright album, nothing truly standout to me but worth a re-listen though.
Enjoyable, not as good as some of the other jazz albums I've had on here. But still a pleasant listen throughout.
I don't like the live aspect of the album. I think it distracts from the music, and doesn't recreate the live atmosphere in my lounge.
It feels wrong saying it, bit ABBA are a really enjoyable listen. Wouldn't add anything off this to their greatest hits, but did quite like "I Let the Music Speak" and "Slipping Through my Fingers".
Something new and a unique style to me. Feels like an intense movie score throughout most of the album. "M.E." and "Oceans" my favourite tracks. Though the album does feel quite repetitive after a while.
Not the worse electronic music I've had on here, but not an enjoyable listen either. "Destroy Rock & Rock" was the most memorable track and not in a good way.
Typical early 2000's indie, which I am a fan of. Though here it sounds like they try to be a bit more unique, like on "Michael", and some songs work better than other. Though "Take Me Out" still my favourite track.
Didn't find this interesting at all, I don't think it has any redeeming qualities either.
Alright, nothing special for me though. I kind of get a Beatles vibe at times.
Some nice tracks, nothing too harsh to listen to. But not something I'll be adding to regular listening.
A total mix of genres, but they pull it off. However, were some misses. Overall I enjoyed the album, though did feel like I was just waiting for Bohemian Rhapsody
Quite nice, but nothing super special in my opinion. "Band on the Run" was my favourite track on the album.
Throughout enjoyable album. Really like their voice and style, very calming, though a couple of songs were the tempo increases and the music gets heavier but works really well. "Son of Sam" and "Happiness/ The Gondola Man" my favourite tracks.
Really liked this, the transitions especially some of them in "Close to The Edge..." were very unexpected but brilliant, I really enjoyed this.
She has a really strong voice. Think I'd much prefer a studio recording to this live album. As I'm not sure what the live aspect adds to this. However her voice alone makes it an enjoyable listen, "Be Anything but Darling be Mine" my favourite track.
I feel like I usually like punk. But didn't like this at all, and found it all rather forgettable.
Really like his slow punchy style of rap, especially over the jazz like backing tracks. Every track after and including "Move" is really good.
Really liked this. A good mix of rock, folk and country. To me there even had a bit of a prog rock sound to it occasionally. "No Other" my favourite track.
Fun album overall. Though some forgettable tracks, but some fantastic ones as well such as "Bad", "Man in the Mirror" and "Smooth Criminal".
No idea how to review jazz. But this very a very nice listen throughout. Very easy listening.
Totally understand why people dislike The Smith's, but I throughouly enjoyed it, "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" and "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others" are my favourite tracks and a great choice to end the album on.
Alright proto-punk album. "1969" and "I Wanna Be Your Dog" were great but the rest of the album fell short for me. Though can definitely see how this has influenced more modern punk albums.
Feels like the soundtrack to a Disney film, gentle, warming, but a powerful voice and I love it. "Just a Little Lovin'" my favourite track on the album.
Very fun and lively. Definitely something to tap your foot to. However, probably not something I'd add to my regular listening, but something to put on when I fee like listening to something very upbeat.
Could have been worse.
Alright, though some bits get a bit too repetitive and metronomy for me.
Seems like a random collection of song to me. So many of the tracks were just odd and I couldn't get into it. However did like "Stranded in Time"
Thought this was brilliant. High energy and intense. "Elegia" was absolutely standout for me, will be listening to it fairly regularly from now on.
Loved this. She has a wonderful voice.
Already listen to this fairly regularly, so knew it would be 5 stars before I played it. Love the lyrics and guitar riffs. "I Started Something I Couldn't Finish" my favourite track.
I actually like the interludes more than the songs. I couldn't get into this and overall found it pretty repetitive and boring.
A very nice album, and she has a lovely voice but not truly standout for me. Unlike some of the others in this genre have been for me.
Good album. Particularly enjoyed 'Killer Queen' and 'Now I'm Here', however some of the songs do just feel like filler and just feel like a let down after the hits.
Solid rock, enjoyed listening to it. "Bad Moon Rising" and "The Night Time is the Right Time"y favourite tracks.
Think this is absolutely fantastic. Everything except "Have a Cigar" is brilliant and even that is very enjoyable.
This was a thoroughly enjoyable listen. "So What" really transports you somewhere else while listening.
Really didn't like this. Came across as spoken word poetry with jazz in the back ground and it all felt like a bit of a mess. The intros and the live audience didn't add anything for me. Apart from "Nobody" no track really stood out, or was enjoyable.
Lots of catchy and fun songs. I really enjoyed the first half of the record, up to and including "Perfection". The cover of "Walk this Way" was brilliant. However I found the second half of the record got boring and repetitive. I especially disliked "Hit It Run".
A nice listen, but not truely standout to me. "Seventeen Seconds" was my favourite track, but found the rest kind of melded together for me.
He has a really nice sound, but everything did sound very samey to me. No particular track stood out, and nothing really made me want to re-listen.
Didn't really enjoy this. It was listenable but not enjoyable. Snoop Dogg definitely carried the album in my opinion.
Not for me. Does have a bit of a relaxing feel, especially compared to other electronic albums, but I still couldn't get into it really.
Love this album. The synth/electronic/rock works really well in my opinion. Also really enjoy the heavy basslines throughout the album. "Starlight" and "Knights of Cydonia" were my favourite tracks.
I have no complaints against this album. She's clearly talented just not something I'll be listening to again really.
Sounds like a visit to my Grandparents. Found the first half of the album fairly uninteresting. Then suddenly the energy seems to increase and grabbed my attention for the second half of the album. "Fakin' It" and "Mrs. Robinson"y favourite tracks.
Fantastic guitar playing, really liked it on "Down by the River" and "Cowgirl in the Sand". However, didn't really enjoy the singing/songwriting as much.
Seems like an odd and experimental album that doesn't really work for me.
Total surprise but loved this.
Loved the album, "Moonage Daydream" and "Starman" my favourite tracks, but there wasn't a bad track on the album.
Surprisingly a fun electronic/dance album. Lots of energy, but felt a bit darker than other electronic albums I've listened to. However, can still get very repetitive throughout. I personally feel like this would be a lot more enjoyable on a night out with a large group, rather than listening alone like I did. "Their Law" and "Poison" my favourite tracks.
Okay, very similar to a lot of early 2000s indie rock
Even though he's a twat, it is a Nlnice album and all the tracks are pretty enjoyable. Plus obviously some very talented guitar playing. "Please be with Me" and "Let it Go" my favourite tracks.
A very laid back album, but with a early 2000s indie feel to me. "Red Eyes" and "Suffering" my favourite tracks and would happily listen to the entire album again.
Some nice bits, but overall pretty boring and forgettable for me at least. Won't be re-listening.
Liked this, very similar throughout but I think it’s that’s a good thing. Favourite songs ‘Rooster’, ‘Dirt’ and ‘Hate to Feel’
Just meh
Surprisingly fun album, I really liked the humour and satire throughout.
Yes, love it.
Well that was pretty boring and unremarkable
Alright, the lyrics were a bit creepy at times
Liked this, wish it went harder for my preference though, would rate 3.5 if I could. “Spellbound” and “Night Shift” my favourite tracks.
Fairly enjoyable, nothing truly standout to me, but I know nothing about country
Really like the lyrics/storys, but hate his voice so much.
Nothing I can point out as bad, just felt boring
Love it
Okay, feel this is more on here just because it is Bowie rather than being something special.
Not for me at all
A surprisingly fun album, just sounds like someone having a good time to me.
Liked this, especially ’Movies of Myself’, he has a really good voice
Starts off really strong, but goes downhill and gets weird quickly
Love some Christmas music
Some hits, some very mediocre songs.
