Angel Dust
Faith No MoreMy own pick. Way more representative of the band than The Real Thing. Patton got to put his stamp on this one, and it's a roller coaster of influences rather than a single sound.

In the right setting, this slow, harmonious, quiet, and deliberate album is just perfect. Dark, but beautiful in its minimalism
I have nothing but a question mark about all of this. Why does it exist? Why would this be nominated to the list? HUH?
This was actually pretty solid, and I found the singles to be the worst tracks.
Mon the Biff! Loving that this showed up. This isn't as proggy and weird as their early stuff, not as mainstream as their latter content...while it isn't the peak of their output it is a great glimpse. I've loved this group for a long time and even have MMORPG characters long named for them. This is a fun entry to see.
This is some Kavinsky-type stuff. Loved it. First user-recommended is a hit.
I'm not sure how to rate this because I literally couldn't hear anything. Talk about minimalist
Tommy the Cat displays the talent that is worth paying attention to here. Everything else is redundant
I was ready to give up on this too soon. After the first few tracks it became obvious that I never knew what was going to come next. This is some incredible, engaging diversity.
I want to commend the presence of such an album, because it's almost to be expected on a user list that you would get things like this, that are randomly just people's personal favorite albums. In terms of value for everyone else though, this is as generic girl band bubble gum Pop as it gets. It was a snooze fest.
In order to provide the concept of continuity front to back, they just made every song sound identical. It's an ok song.
Solid!
Respect for adding some actual more worldy music. It was listenable.
Believe it or not, I've never listened to this one all the way through. I don't know why. It's a classic, and it should have made the list. The touchpoints here are incredible, from the now played out huge hits, to Adam's Song, which hinted at the future and bigger things. I keep seeing comments about another Blink album on the list. I never saw one?
That was a lot of falsetto. Not bad though.
The singer ruins this
I don't understand the appeal of this. It's so bland.
This was creative, but too indulgent. A much more difficult listen than I anticipated.
This is what it would sound like if Cake turned out for the worse. This dude is obnoxious, which is a shame since the clear focus is on him and his lyrics above all.
This was possibly the biggest miss on the list. The band may have inconsistencies over the years, but this was a classic when I first heard it.
The weirdest part of this album is that the music doesn't fit the tone for Poe's writings. Which would seem to defeat the whole purpose.
This album is right where I left it. Dark, twisted, loud, complex, angry, and full of talent, but also very much a product of its time. It still deserved to be on the list.
He stretches himself and mostly comes away with it, though it doesn't sustain across the album. This dude can do almost anything.
This was perfect for a snowy day. Creative, zen, harmonious, quiet. Excellent stuff.
I have nothing but a question mark about all of this. Why does it exist? Why would this be nominated to the list? HUH?
Unique, true to it's name, but got stale.
Progressive orchestral? Unique genre but ultimately a foreign language snooze fest and overly long. Not engaging at all.
Stone cold classic, and totally unexpected. This should have been on the list. It's a talented emo band who channeled an incredible moment of inspiration for an album not only head and shoulders above the rest of their output, but which legitimized the genre. They created a sound, borrowing from Queen, which transcended the scene and has not staled 20 years later.
I'm mad my review didn't save. This is a 5 star album and a new fav that I will go back to. I'll also listen to much more Bad Religion. I originally commented that my early-mid pop-punk/punk lane always went toward Offspring, and this was a miss I feel badly about.
For as much reluctant credit I gave Bruce on the main list when his songwriting was great, this is everything I dislike about him.
For me, this is Doom's peak. Effortless talent on display through light, almost throwaway topics. Killer sampling, always interesting and humorous.
This was actually pretty solid, and I found the singles to be the worst tracks.

Solid stuff. Underestimated this for sure.
I can't believe that this album is better than enema.. I have never listened to the full thing and my greatest recollection of this record is my college roommate buying it the day it came out and then throwing it out his car window halfway through because he hated it so much. I don't understand that. This one seems to have aged great. They slowed it down a little bit and matured a whole lot. There's some good songcraft on here. It's indicative of future as well. In fact, I see a lot of +44.
This was somewhat interesting. Only because I'm not really sure why this would be anyone's favorite album. There are far better in the genre
Solid Sunday morning tunes. Loved "I Defy."
The most 80s mall pop to ever do it. I give credit that she wrote her songs though. A fun, short, dated bop that I'll never listen to again.
This is a singles record. The hits are hits, the rest blends together in sameness.
Smooth. Jazzy. Modern. Indie. Tremendous.
This was worth a revisit. Much different than the debut. More in line with Beck. I missed guitars, but Mr E's Beautiful Blues is a killer track.
I will give credit. My recollection is that this record was massive. It's catchy, it's sassy, it was a moment for sure. That said, it definitely isn't for me.
In the right setting, this slow, harmonious, quiet, and deliberate album is just perfect. Dark, but beautiful in its minimalism
This was kind of cool. Definitely funk with a lot of other genres mixed in. It definitely felt of its era.
This was so obnoxious. Niche college jam nonsense without vocal talent. At least throw a live DMB.
This just sounded old. Not unlistenable but not worthwhile.
What a weird one. I guess Europe had the Kaiser Chiefs too.
Some recognizable classic brass tunes, light and fun to listen to.
Raucous live punk. Not bad but have no context for it.
Well, there was one keeper here at least. Strange how some of these tracks were more "country" tinged than EDM
I don't think I understand this band.
A unique add to the list: modern Americana. Dude's voice is great.
Blips and bloops
More indie whining
Indie whining
Grandfathers of modern day post hardcore. Thank you to whomever added this. Love it.
Never gave Garbage a chance. Should have. This is pretty solid.
Dated but an interesting non-US non-English blend of styles
This was described as funk but I didn't draw the connection
Nice diversity, samples
My own pick. Way more representative of the band than The Real Thing. Patton got to put his stamp on this one, and it's a roller coaster of influences rather than a single sound.
Look, this can easily be overlooked as weird. The thing is, it's sincere as hell in it's weirdness. It's catchy, it's unique, it's lush, and it is also of it's time while also somehow lasting. It never crossed my mind that this album should be on the list, but when it popped up, I sure got excited.
If I had to have guessed I would have put this band in the mid '80s. It has the same post-bunk sensibilities as the Cure. So imagine my surprise when I learned this was only about 10 years old.
It's difficult to give credit to foreign language outcomes that you can't follow, and it's even harder when the genre is easy listening.
Catchy stuff. In small doses, a throwback to a sound I wasn't big on at the time but is engaging enough.
I couldn't. I thought we were through with the insufferable with the 1001 in the rear view and these being used picks. Who would do this? Is it a prank? 90 minutes of a cacophony. One star. Bottom of the heap. I refuse to torture myself.
I wanted to like this more. Ska/rock fusion but the songs are too long, and yes, too loud. Too much going on.
Enjoyable euro folk
An 80s throwback with some clever lyrics.
Always wanted to give this album a shot. Exactly as anticipated, which was fun for a bit, moody, proto-emo, but now dated a bit.
Instrumentals were cool, expressive, groovy, but repetitive.
Cool, loose stuff. A million influences and genres in a blender, jazzy to an extent. Enjoyed it.
Some of this was bland, but there were a couple tracks that were absolute keepers. I like the vibe.
Another that could have made the list in place of extraneous repetitive 80s British pop rock. Classic sound here, and a classic tune.
Quality.
This album is a bit all over the place, and continuity/flow seem often interrupted. A lot of good stuff still to be found, but not as cohesive as his other stuff.
Good punk rock
It's as if Tom Petty's Zombie Zoo met the Cult for an entire album.
Guitar masturbation...but in psychedelic German
Quiet, thoughtful, slow jazz. Great snoozer.
This is not the Robyn I hoped for. Dude annoys me.
Summery, light, forgettable.
This is nothing like I anticipated. Don't judge a book and all that. Expected hardcore punk, got Cake lite.
Too much auto tune, and oh my the accent. Other than that, a good time.
This started out with a roll call and some solid, unique songs, but then it devolved and went on too long.
I wasn't expecting much, but some of this hit. Especially 4th of July.
This was cool. Spoken word poetry over some steady guitar riffs in Spanish language. I dunno what they said, but I enjoyed hearing it.
This was unique. Operatic-dub-goth metal with the most random and unique screaming, and lots of quiet folk in between. Points for not sounding like anything else and still being listenable and entertaining.
A lot of foreign content on the user list. This was diverse and held my attention.
The kind of light soul/pop my daughter would enjoy
Cookie cutter 70s rock
Perfect punkish/90sish/Weezerish throwback. No notes.
It sounded like Alanis morissette wailing over a jam band. It was not good.
This exceeded any expectations I could have had. Gave it two listens. Classic album, I would argue. Had no idea how many hits were on this thing. Dude sounds like he carried Zeppelin into the 80s.
I don't like dub.
It's hilarious that I just scorched the last pick for being dub and so what do I draw next? The teen angst version of dub. This is way worse than I ever suspected, even though I never gave it the time of day when it was new. They've got 3 good songs.
Heard of this band but never heard this band. This is not what I expected. Coheedish/The Decemberists in concept and sound. Nothing stuck with me and it was overly long, but a great listen.
This album has a reputation, but I'll be honest...I've now listened about 3 times and I'm not getting it.
Incredibly genred d-list 80s era stuff. Barely worth a listen 30 years ago.
Wrong KSE album
Cool band but simply too rough around the edges for a consistent quality
Blew my mind. Thought it would be piss-poor numetal. Instead, it's thoughtful prog rock displaying incredible talent. Need to dig deeper on this band.
Hooked me immediately and unexpectedly. I'm liking these epic folk albums
Quirky, entertaining
Dudes got talent and soul for days
