Heroes to Zeros
The Beta BandThis has been one of the biggest surprises so far. I’ve never heard of this band and I ended up listening to the album 3 times today. It’s a mix of different genres and it somehow works.

I am ashamed to admit I hadn’t really listened to Nina Simone before. I was blown away by her voice, her lyrics, the piano, everything. If this album doesn’t make you feel something, then you are soulless.
Classic punk album. Favorite songs: I’m so bored with the USA, London’s Burning and Police and Thieves
Enjoyed side two the best. Favorite songs: My God, Hymn 43, Lick your Fingers Clean and Locomotive Breath
Ugh I hated the singer’s voice. Liked the guitars but I was waiting for the album to end.
It’s a pretty solid album. I liked the last song the best.
I really enjoyed a few songs on the album. It’s a great album to play while driving. I think I need to listen to this album a few more times to get it.
Beautiful and soothing album. Enjoyed Blue Skies, Unchained Melody, and Moonlight in Vermont the most. I’d play this album in the back ground while relaxing or having dinner.
Love this album. Blister in the Sun, Kiss Off, and Gone Daddy Gone will always some of my favorite songs.
Did not like this album. I only liked one song, “Halcyon and On and On”. The songs sounded the same and they just dragged on. I’m sure it sounded new and exciting when it first came out but there are so many other electronic albums that are better.
There are some amazing, classic rap songs on this albums Gz and Hustlas, Gin and Juice, Who Am I (What’s My Name). This album hits him different as an adult and I didn’t like the language towards women. It shows how far we’ve come since 1993.
Took my awhile to finish because it’s a long album. Solid album. Each song flowed well into the next. Very relaxing and chill.
This album surprised me! I only known their song “Come On Eileen” but this album was so energetic and fun.
Overall, the album was okay. There are a few songs that stood out and will always be a classic. Waves of Mutilation, Monkey Gone to Heaven, and La La Love You stood out the most on the album.
I did have this album when I was 15. I did go back in time listening to this album 23 years later and I remember which songs I liked the best: My Way, The One, Take A Look Around. This album satisfied the angst when I was a teenager and now it does nothing for me now.
Chill, relaxing album. After listening to this album, it made me want to dig deeper and listen to more jazz. Looking forward to listening to this album on a cold, rainy day.
A solid, true pink pop album. I will always love Basket Case, along View, Welcome to Paradise and When I Come Around. The songs focus more on anxiety and being alone rather than stupid shit.
Her voice gave me chills and I loved the lyrics. The songs are solid. The album is solid.
This album surprised me. I didn’t think I would like it but the whole album works. Each song is unique and fits together.
It wasn’t a bad album. It was just okay. I can see what Beck was trying to accomplish with this album but it ended up falling short.
I enjoyed the first couple of songs then they got weird and I was ready for the album to be over with.
I understand why this album is considered one of the greatest albums ever. I’m sure this would be amazing live and was seen as novel when Bob Dylan released this album. I’m not going to be listening to this album again on my own. Sorry Bob.
This is Green Day’s best album. Even though it came out in 2004, it still works in today’s world.
One I started listening to the first song, I thought "This is going to suck." But the further I got into the album and really started listening to the album, it really got to me. The album is about loss and depression but also coming out of the other side. Not everything has to be happy and upbeat. It sucks that the album is on YouTube, because this beautiful, dark album was frequently interrupted with Christmas ads.
There were a few songs that stood out to me and there were parts of songs that I enjoyed but then there were things thrown in like creepy laughing. I think I was too sober for this album.
I enjoyed Nick Drake’s voice a lot and the guitars. Sometimes the songs sounded all the same. The songs that stood out: At The Chime of the City Clock, Sunday, Hazy Jane II
It was fine. Nothing really stood out to me. I couldn’t finish the album because I had to listen to it on YouTube and for some reason the last 2 songs weren’t playing. I didn’t care enough to look them up somewhere else.
I really enjoyed the entire album. I love Rod Stewart’s voice. Songs that stood out to me: Morning Dew, Ol’ Man River, and Greensleeves.
I didn’t hate it but I didn’t really like it.
All the songs sounded the same and he doesn’t have the best voice.
Bob Marley always puts me in a relaxed mood and transports me to Hawaii. Ultimate chill album.
I might like Dear Science more than Return to Cookie Mountain. All the songs fit and flow well. Love Tunde’s voice and this album really shows off his abilities.
I have a lot of respect for Missy Elliott and I liked the songs about loss, being a strong woman, and having fun. I was annoyed when she said “This is a Missy Elliot exclusive” for every song. At least she was having fun.
Best Rolling Stones album.
Some of the music was fine. Not a fan of the singing. Way too sober for this album.
It sounded like a knock off Duran Duran album. The first two songs started out promising, but then all of the songs sounded the same and seemed to drag on. I didn't finish listening to the album because I was just over it.
I was planning on giving this album 2 stars while I was listening. I felt the first few songs sounded the same. Then I listened to the last two songs on the album and they changed my mind. I was surprised that Rush's lyrics are deeper than I previously believed. I'm not a fan of the entire album, but there are a few standout songs.
I liked the album and will give it another listen.
I am ashamed to admit I hadn’t really listened to Nina Simone before. I was blown away by her voice, her lyrics, the piano, everything. If this album doesn’t make you feel something, then you are soulless.
The whole album is good but there are a few songs on here that are my all time favorite.
Only two songs really stood out for me. Last song on the album surprised me and was intense.
Didn’t listen to the entire album because I didn’t want to and I remember when these songs were everywhere.
It’s a typical metal album.
The only songs that stood out were Paint it Black and I am Waiting. Most of the songs and lyrics were repetitive and sounded the same.
The album started off okay. I enjoyed the instruments but then it got worse. This album was hilariously horrible. At least it made me laugh.
It’s a classic early 2000’s pop album. I remember this album and hearing it everywhere. It’s a good album but I’m giving it a 2 because of what I now know about Timberlake. He doesn’t deserve more stars.
Overall, it’s a fine album. The lyrics are cheesy but the album was nice for background music.
This album brings me so much happiness and joy. It never gets old.
At first, I wasn’t into the album. I’ve previously heard Tom Waits’ songs here and there and I knew what to expect with his singing voice. But as I got further into the album, I enjoyed his lyrics and the music. I was surprised by how much I ended up liking this album. I’d give it another listen.
I'm a sucker for Roxy Music. I even liked the song about a blow up doll.
Not David Bowie’s most innovated album but still a solid album. The song “Where Are We Now?” gave me chills.
This album made me so happy, and Fats Domino needs to be celebrated more.
The title of the album fits. I loved every song and got goosebumps when I heard “Come Rain or Come Shine.”
Was worried that the album would be repetitive, but I ended up liking the majority of the songs. Plus, I got so much cleaning done while listening.
I listened to this album 3 times today. One of his best albums.
I couldn't get into this album. All of the songs sounded the same and I had a hard time getting through it.
I didn't listen to the entire 3 hour album and listened to what was on Spotify. I love Ella's voice and could listen to her sing anything.
It’s a solid album but I’ve heard the well known songs too many times.
The music was okay. I couldn't stand the singer's voice. It was whiny and boring.
Not my favorite Michael Jackson album but there are some classic songs that never get old on the album.
I enjoyed a few songs but I wouldn’t listen to this album again.
This album sounded too much like their other albums. Some songs stood out more than others.
I could never get into the Eagles. My opinion didn’t not change after listening to this album.
Loved all of the songs. This is going to be one of my favorite Christmas album.
This is what people played at dinner parties and in the bedroom in the 80’s.
Her voice put me in a trance.
Solid album. I'd give it another listen.
I enjoyed a few songs but most of the songs sounded the same to me.
Loved "I am Stretched on Your Grave" and will always love "Nothing Compares 2 U." Beautiful voice.
It was okay. The album felt all over the place.
I tried to listen to 3 songs and then I stopped.
It was fine for playing in the background. I wouldn’t play this again. Most of the songs sounded the same.
I tried. I couldn't get into the album.
I thought this album would sound more folky but it surprised me. There were a few stand out songs and some songs that were just annoying.
I was transported to another world when listening to the album.
Better than I expected. I enjoyed the more 80’s sounding songs. Some songs were really obnoxious with the random sounds.
Some songs dragged on but overall, I enjoyed the album, but I don't think I'm going to listen to this again anytime soon.
Favorite songs were Indian Sunset, Madman Across the Water and of course, Tiny Dancer. Loved the piano and string instruments on the album.
I loved listening to this album while I was driving. Fantastic blues album.
This album always reminds me of summer. It's fun and puts me in a better mood every time a listen to it.
I liked two songs on the album. All of the lyrics and music were the same. Boring.
Solid album. “I wanna be adored” is perfect.
I bought this album when it first came out. I can’t remember the last time I listened to the entire album. I definitely took a trip back in time with this one. 4/5 for the nostalgia and being a great album to work out to.
There were a few stand out songs and then there were songs that were kind of obnoxious and didn’t fit with the other songs.
This was one of my favorite albums when it first came out. It was fresh and unique. This is M.I.A.’s best album.
This album is so terrible that it could be used in psychological warfare. I had a headache after the 3rd song.
Was this supposed to be hip hop? It was just talking. I tried to listen to the lyrics. Overall, this album was boring and I listened to half the songs.
I played the album in the background when I cleaned. It did feel repetitive sometimes but I still enjoyed the music.
This has been one of the biggest surprises so far. I’ve never heard of this band and I ended up listening to the album 3 times today. It’s a mix of different genres and it somehow works.
It’s nice to hear music that isn’t in English. I appreciated the sound of the album and there were a few songs that I enjoyed.
I want to take a nap after listening to this album.
This album was literally just noise. There was nothing musically going on at all.
Wasn't able to listen to the entire album, because I had to listen to it on YouTube. I enjoyed the few songs I listened to and will give it a proper listen when I have time.
Not the biggest Beatles fan, but Tomorrow Never Knows is one of their best songs.
Best Paul Simon album.
I appreciate Mariah Carey and her talent, but most of the songs sounded the same to me.
Solid rock album. Favorite songs This is Love and Big Exit.
The “Yeah boy!” in almost every song was really distracting. There were a few songs I liked.
Beautiful album to listen to on a sunny day. Will definitely listen to this again soon.
It was a fine rock album. Speed King is the best song and I liked the organ.
I’m not a big fan of country music but I did enjoy Because of the Wind and Boxcars.
Beautiful singing voice. Boring album.
None of the songs really stood out to me. I had the “noise” that was in the background of most of the songs. It was very distracting.
I’m not the biggest Radiohead fan but I’d give this another listen.
The album was fine. Nothing mind blowing. I like Elvis' voice, but none of the songs stood out for me.
I was never a Pearl Jam fan, and after listening to this album, I'm still not a fan.
Nothing mind blowing or exciting.
I was never a Pearl Jam fan and after listening to this album, I'm still not a fan.
Solid album. The songs are upbeat and energetic.
Overall, the album is fine. Side 3 is the best.
Fun album to play in the background.
This is the type of music you listen to while you are on hold at the doctor’s office. Boring.
It’s a typical British pop album. I enjoyed a few songs but other songs I skipped through.
This album brings back a lot of memories and I have a lot of respect for Nirvana and this album. I’ll listen to it if it’s on but I’m not going to reach for this album on my own. In Bloom and Lithium are the best songs.
I couldn’t get past the first two songs.
His singing voice grew on me. Favorite song is “Night.”
It wasn’t bad and it wasn’t great. It was fine.
All of the songs sounded the same to me. The best part of the album was Chris Cornell’s singing.
I liked the music but I can’t stand his voice.
I would give this another listen.
I’m proud of myself for listening to 90% of this album. I’m giving this album a 2 because the lyrics and the silly voices gave me a good laugh. I will be singing about the plants and Bach is dead for the next couple of days.
I didn't like the first few songs, but then I started to get into the album on "Greenmail" and "Your Dictionary." Enjoyed the music but not the biggest fan of the singer's voice.
It's music that you play in the background and then forget about it.
This album takes me back to junior high, which is both good and bad. Love the classic songs but most of the lyrics are cringey and outdated.
A more modern take on folk music. I like it.
I like the vibe and the message of the album but most of the songs sounded the same to me.
Didn't expect to like this album. Great pick me up on a Tuesday afternoon.
