Cosmo's Factory by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sep 22 2024

- surprisingly good production for its time. - vocal melodies stolen??!! - a lot of short n sweet songs, mixed with longer progressive songs. - goofy ah album cover - tempo ramps... nice. - maybe the best album to play at a bar. - drum sound is great and very similar to the other ccr albums. - cool guitar tones, specially during solos and licks. - LOVE Fogerty's voice - mix is a little too basic. - "I Heard Through The Grapevine" has a little too much filler on it. compared to "Ramble Tamble" it lacks interesting and unique song structure. inspired licks, solos and riffs, and for the most part just lacks meaning on the record. Im feeling a high 3.

Beggars Banquet by The Rolling Stones
Sep 23 2024

The album opens up with the greatest Stones song ever. "Sympathy For The Devil" is a super unique, unpredictable song, filled with a great groove, smooth and mesmerizing guitar licks from Richards and a solid vocal performance from Mick Jagger. However, all of the inspiration and great musicianship seems to fade away as the album goes on. No other song has the same level of writing or passion as the opening track. Overall a disappointing record. I'm feeling a 2/5, or Fantano style rating, a light 4.
