Murder Ballads
Nick Cave & The Bad SeedsI sure hope he was just joking about all that stuff.
I sure hope he was just joking about all that stuff.
Some cool, unique stuff going on. I’m sure I’d like this more if my favourite show was friends and my favourite drink was whiskey and my favourite pastime was eating cigarettes.
Not the best radiohead album but better than most albums on this list.
A perfect metal album.
Pretty good soul album!
Good album when it’s good, lame when it’s lame.
This album rocks. Awesome, beautiful, melancholic. Grabs you and holds you close for the 50 min runtime. Never listened to before but I’m glad I did.
Okay album, some good moments but I was bored by some songs.
Great grunge album so diverse and not a bad song on it. A worthy memory. RIP Chris Cornell
I can see its influence on rock music but I still found most of the songs on the album uninteresting but occasionally a good song would come on. Not one to come back to.
Lovely.
A perfect metal album.
A little too old fashioned for me, free bird was fine though.
Beautiful album, wish it was on Spotify. I struggle to describe it.
Not a fan.
The songs felt far too monotonous and felt like power chords for 40 mins. I added a star for basket case as that’s been an ear worm.
A little weird at times but overall a lovely album.
Often felt quite lacklustre, picked up pace about mid way through but then lost it. Also overdubs on a live album? Seriously?
I liked some stuff from the album and could see myself listening to it more but it does sound dated.
Nice little acoustic album, i could come back to this.
This is ass like pink floyd if they were boring and imitating themselves ironically. Guitar parts were ok though sometimes.
Kinda fun!
Repetitive guitars but over all not bad.
Local man gets keyboard. No one stopped him, why?
Not good.
Not bad but not my cup of tea.
Good noisy grunge. Great!
Not bad,not too into reggae so I’m perhaps being too generous, more of a 3.5/5 tbh.
It rarely gets better than this.
Fine I think? I forgot so probably nothing special.
4.5 Kinda weird but I can appreciate that given its year. Also really beautiful. Big fan!
3.5. Nice guitar tones, not really into country but definitely interesting and diverse enough to be a fun listen. Kinda loses some of its coherency midway through though.
Really great.
Love nick cave. There were some interesting choices musically that I’m not sure panned out too well but it’s a nice quiet album. I’d give it a 4.
☹️
Some good riffs and moments but the solos were far too long and boring and since there’s so many it ruined the experience.
Some cool, unique stuff going on. I’m sure I’d like this more if my favourite show was friends and my favourite drink was whiskey and my favourite pastime was eating cigarettes.
Interesting album, didn’t think it would be an acappella. Not my thing really.
Some good songs, just not too keen on the clown-ahh music
Pretty cool. Maybe like a 4.5?
Not bad, quaint. Maybe - 3.724/5?
Every 90s British band just had a child together and it’s these guys!
Dang, this is pretty good!
Not bad.
Would be a lot better if they ditched the singer and 80s keyboards.
Okay but it really could have done with 10 good songs instead of having 40 mid songs
Good but not for me.
Damn.
Wowee
Pretty cool!
I liked the strings and instrumentals but I’m not too keen on the vocals.
21 was better
Yeah, noo.
Wowzers.
Meh, nothing you’ve not heard before.
I can’t believe they played ace of spades 12 times back to back!
I just don’t get Steely Dan, it started off cool but progressively I just lost more and more interest.
It’s like nirvana but they forgot the distortion pedal 😔
Like a 90s boiler room set
LL Cool J? More like… cool
Damn good.
Up its own arse but we’re all already there anyway.
Can’t believe this came out in the 90s, so many sounds you’d expect to hear today
Had a lot of beeps and zeeps
Wow that’s a lotta reverb
I want less songs about buildings and food
My oh my
Liars
Honk snooo ahh album
No complaints here.
Supernaut?? More like super-mid!!
Just so fun!
Man what a snooze fest
Was halfway through listening to the album when I found out I was listening to the wrong album. Pretty cool drum n bass album though but definitely dated.
You put the lime in the coconut, the limes really good but coconut's gone off
I’m not American but this is some good country music
Starts off iconic, and I can’t remember the rest it was so dull.
In Uteros better but still
Unremarkable but not bad
I’ve always liked Adele but there were some dull songs here.
Honk snooooo… First song was cool, like Trent Reznor mixed with PJ Harvey cool, otherwise boring, forgot I listened to it tbh.
Listen up y’all it’s a boring ass album with like one good track
Dunno why the ratings so low, some people must hate fun.
Boring but the occasional good part, glad 20 minute songs died.
Lotta people wanting to fuck morrissey in these reviews…
Aw hall nah prog jazz??
“Y’all got any good albums?” “We got abysmal dogshit.”
Sounded like country. Don’t like country.
Woah is this guy a weezer reference?
Boring, nothing special here.
Hmm, fun energy but the vocals were lacking and music at times good, overall mid.
After reading the reviews here i cant help but feel like I missed something, maybe I need to come back to this one.
Some parts I really like but the vocals and music occasionally really lack, some production could also have lifted this album. Overall though, not bad.
Seems topical considering recent events
This album was great. Do I think that it is one of the 1001 albums that I must listen to before I died? Yes. It was a great album.
I liked it.
Not bad but not great.
If you don't like this you hate fun.
Wowzers, talk about a great old time!
Not the best radiohead album but better than most albums on this list.
This really didn't grab me
Original was better
It wasn't bad but often boring but often objectively good.
You know its gonna be barmy when the artist is on the adhd hyperfocus playlist
She's just incredible.
Objectively decent but I don't fw jazz.
I kinda fw this, but no one can know.
It'd be breaking the law to go any lower!
Dang, even the singer was bored, little to no musical variety.
Took me by surprise, very good!
Honestly, it had some good parts but they were unfortunately overcast by dogshit parts like the unvaried music and ass vocals. Overall okay though.
Good music to zone out to.
Ugh.
As far as as grime goes, it's really good, you can do alot worse but I've never been too fond of grime.
This sounds far older than 30 years old, doesn't help it's boring either. A feeling caller love was good though.
Great songs but the odd interludes drag it down a bit for me, but overall great.
This is great, but it's not amazing yet.
Shite haircuts, good music though.
Could really do with a mix that brings out the vocals more but is overall really interesting and cool.
Soulful soul music by soulful man with alot of soul.
This stinks.
Couldn't understand the words but I understood the music. I also understood the music got a bit bland after awhile.
Little dated and simple for me. Still okay though.
Probably my least favourite of Simon and garfunkels do far but still not bad.
I sure hope he was just joking about all that stuff.
Plain old boring music.
Old but not quite gold, its okay.
Some good stuff, need to listen to more.
I don't think I got it.
Good but quite repetitive. Green onions was great though.
I don't lust for iggy but the music was pretty good.
I don't think I'm sad enough for this
Not a fan. Would've been miles better had he divided up the songs. Had his moments though.
Damn!!! These guys are good!!!
I only knew song 2, but everything else was top notch, crazy distorted guitars, Albarns Bowie like vocals, it all just messed together so so well. They're kinda like an evil gorillaz. 4.5/5.
This wasn't too bad. Just sounds really dated, cool though. Like a 3.5.
Was listening to it, then I forgot I was, must have been real interesting.
He's got the funk.
I don't think I 100% got it, may need a revisit, but damp, every single part put their all into it.
This was a hard one to collect my thoughts on, some parts were so out there I didn't enjoy it, others were filled with intent & purpose & beauty & beats that fuck. Challenging to say the least. Rating somehow seems impossible, definitely not a 1, wouldn't call it a 5 either. Most poignant album so far.
Some parts are good, some parts are just meh, some are shite.
Not quite my tempo.
Generally not a fan of a good deal of old albums as i find them mostly boring and generic but this one was really good!
Hot vocals & insttumentals.
Damn, chuffed to listen to this.
You've already heard it before, you already love it.
Pretty okay 80s sounding 80s album
Edgy as all hell but theres a charm here.
This sucks.
Im starting to think i dont like prog
Everything is consistent & great, from instruments to flow to vibe, its still brilliant.
I was gonna give it a 4 but then he started loudly moaning at the end.
