1001 Albums Summary

Just no.

For most albums and new music genres I’m introduced to, I can usually find something I liked. This was not the case. In fact, it was so bad I noticed that there was a new editing feature on this website and almost a year later am now changing my rating from a 2 to a 1. Nothing in this album made me enjoy it nor at the very least appreciate it.

Quirky, strange, Beatle-esque kind of album. Description says that the band was not on good terms… you could sort of tell. It had a ton of intricate and complex melodies, but some of these lyrics REALLY should have been cut. Overall, pretty solid 👍

Very in tune with its time period, yet it remains classic. Warm, nostalgic, and pretty comforting.

A nice relaxing album that really makes your jaw drop. You love jazz, or you don’t. Truly in love with this album.

For what the album is supposed to be, it’s lovely. I love what it provides, and I’ve found it makes studying a bit easier. Not a fan of the vocals, they kind of creep me out.

It starts out like a jazz album, but very quickly (and smoothly) moves through itself semi-eclectically.

While definitely very impressive guitar skills, this album moves along rather unremarkably. I was quite bored, but it wasn’t terrible.

Crazy that this came out in 1986 and is STILL influencing thrash metal. Not a big metal genre listener, but I did enjoy this very much!

Truly a wonderful album. Simple, but sung with such complexity. Soft, but lyrically so loud. Unfortunately, not much has changed in our world Tracy Chapman…

Dreamy and ethereal jam! I adore this album, it is damn near perfect. Can’t believe it came out in 1984, such a beautiful piece 🫶

Nothing too crazy, but it’s the kind of album you have to listen to on repeat for one to really appreciate it. I like new wave as a genre, but this album didn’t really do much for me.

I LOOOOVE me some alt rock. One of my favorite genres of all time!!

I sort of enjoyed this, it was really easy to tune out though. It sounded good, but it needed something else to make it greater. High 3 almost a 4 but not quite

Every song is distinctly different, yet they each hold emotional impact. I adore her voice.

Beautiful, simple sound. Kind of like Beach House, but more acoustic, makes me feel all warm and comforted inside :)

I knew I had to listen to Oasis EVENTUALLY, and I was pleasantly surprised! There were great depth and lyrical meaning in this album. It sounded a little repetitive, but that could just be me.

Nothing really stood out. I was expecting a little more from them, but it wasn't a bad album by any means.

OH MY GOD KATE BUSH YOURE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL PERSON. This album, strangely, reminded me of the Cocteau Twins <3. It was loud and powerful, but also slow and melodic. Love, love, love.

Didn’t know what I was expecting, but definitely not this! What a wonderfully beautiful surprise that I have been blessed with! No bad songs, ALL bangers.
