What a genius idea for an album by a duo, especially since they both have such impressive solo careers. There's also definitely something to be said about an album that features Norah Jones, Lil Jon, Rosario Dawson, and Jay-Z. There's a great balance of genres here. However, I wish they'd trimmed this big boi (pun intended) down to be closer to the size of a "standard" album, cuz this was lengthy and my wee attention span was fighting for its life. I definitely related to the "y'all drivin your Subarus, sitting in your cubicles" line in Tomb of the Boom lmao.
Favorite songs: Bowtie, Last Call, Roses
Loved the first song - what a great way to start an album. The rest of it felt a little repetitive, but I would definitely listen again.
this shit gave me whiplash
Wooo this is a ride. SO GOOD
My face before seeing this was today’s album: 🥱
My face after seeing this was today’s album: 🤩
She’s such an artiste I love this whole album so much
Liked a few of the songs but not a huge fan of the general sound
Never heard a fast food place referenced so much in one album. Beastie Boys <3 White Castle
No but it's so funny that they wrote this whole album to make fun of frat boys in the 80s and then that became their audience because they didn't realize it was an ironic album.
Great to listen to while working, but overall just not really my vibe.
It's fun to hear the basis of their later sound! I've never listened to this album, and it's just hard to not compare it to their others (that I like much more). Wouldn't listen to again, but it's still the Beatles...
What an interesting album. I really liked the Irish-y folk-y influence and the main woman's voice. The instrumentation didn't impress me too much - it kind of sounds like I've heard this or something similar often before. Maybe it was groundbreaking for its time, but I can't say it's something I will be listening to again.
I thought this was okay! Can't say it'll be a relisten for me. Liked the general sound and didn't get too bored.
Wow. Deserves every one of the four Grammys it got. King's voice is so timeless and the songwriting on this is so diverse and easy to listen to. Loved listening to this, saving to listen to again.
Listening to "Excuse Me" as I type this. Please make this stop.
Okay second half of the album was MUCH better. Enjoyed the piano but some of the songs were just too bad to be redeemable imo.
What a vibe, made me want to fall asleep at my desk but very smooth. A lot of great solos. Loved the piano and saxophone features especially, and I thought the juxtaposition of the two singers' voices was perfect. Portuguese is such a cool language.
The Arctic Monkeys sound is so unique yet timeless, but this definitely isn't my favorite album of theirs. Fingers crossed for Favorite Worst Nightmare to be on this list too
I am unfortunately just not a fan of this. Could not wait for it to be over.
I love a good dirge but can't say this one will be in my regular rotation. Some of the songs were really lovely. Got repetitive over time.
Love this album. Favorite song was The Working Hour. My mom LOVED Tears for Fears as a teenager so I listened to quite a bit of this growing up, and I gotta say it doesn't get old.
I hate that I've never listened to this album. The lyrics are poignant, his voice is beautiful, the backing instruments are soulful or jazzy or smooth depending on the song. Love, love, love.
Loved this album! I didn't know anything about Gene Clark but his voice is so classic and calming. Saved a few songs and would listen again.
Grew on me the more I listened. British rap is so good
I get that this was revolutionary and is ranked high on so many album lists, but it's not something I LOVE listening to by any stretch. They are so skilled at weaving their voices together. The backing instrumentals are great too.
It's giving Over the Garden Wall. Can't say I'd listen to this album again though!
Classic, easy to listen to, incredible, love
There is a song or two that aren't my cup of tea, and that's the only thing that is keeping this from 5 stars.
Good vibes. Sometimes the voice reminds me of Andy Samberg in Threw it on the Ground though
Baselines were great but otherwise was ready for this album to be over.
I think this album should be on the top 50 albums list, maybe even higher. So good!
I really liked this album!! British angst with great baselines and fictional people - what more could you want?
Eh. Didn't enjoy listening but can appreciate some of the songs
His artistry on the piano is just nuts. Wouldn't regularly listen to this but enjoyed it.
Waiiiit this is a good ass album?! I have heard his older stuff (my mom is a Lenny Kravitz fangirl) but never this album. I love how it starts a little unpolished and goes through so many different states and emotions. Soooo good
Downloaded to listen to again. Perfect fall/winter vibes. Nick Drake's music was so groundbreaking and is now so timeless. I am so glad this album was on here!
Thought I would like this more! Very meh.
Liked it at first, but then I started to enjoy it less as it went on.
Definitely enjoyed this one. I liked China Girl the best. It sounds so David Bowie-y which obviously is a plus.
This probably hit soooo crazy if the person you were going steady with ghosted you in 1955
Really like this one. Was wondering why I've never heard of this album, and it's because the singer had abuse allegations against him shortly after this album came out, the allegations blew up on Twitter, and the band split. Plus they're British. Anyway, great album!
I mean, it really is that good. Maybe it's because I just listened to a different, earlier, worse Beatles album, but this is just so nostalgic and variable and great.
There was definitely some stuff I liked about this, but an Overkill song autoplayed after the album was done and I liked it more
I love his voice, and American Pie hits every time. Would listen again
Obsessed with Fats Domino's other album titles. Here Comes Fats Domino, Fats is Back, A Lot of Dominos, Here He Comes Again!
This is a cool album, The horns were great and I could picture him having fun singing/playing all of these songs which was nice :)
So good! I had no idea Aqualung was by Jethro Tull... embarrassing. My favorite song was My God, looove the flute
Really great stuff. So much artistry, passion, complex themes, incredible instrumentation, I could go on. Loved what a complete idea it was.
Pretty good! Liked Beetles in the Bog the best - the sax was super fun and sooo early 70s (in a good way, imo)
Liked a lot more than Blonde on Blonde. More chill, less "Bob Dylan doing weird shit with his voice" maybe?
Sick concept. Really enjoyed a few of the songs. It sounded very Trans-Siberian Orchestra at points.
If you're reading this and you haven't watched "Russian Doll," DO IT. Also, this is a fun album. I liked his voice, the instrumentation, and his witty lyricism. Would definitely listen again.
I am actually *shocked* at how much I love this album. I didn't want it to end, and I already downloaded it to listen offline. The sound just teleports you to the 70s in the best way possible, and the lyrics are cheesy (as so many classic rock lyrics are) but interesting, nostalgic, and easy for anyone to connect to.
Really nothing I liked about this album
Not my favorite steely dan album but still pretty damn good
Actually cannot imagine someone in the 60s making this lmao, or someone else in the 60s listening to it. Would have loved to be in the room when the last song was pitched/performed for the first time
appropriate amount of saxophone, and definitely some bangers on here

Genuinely my least favorite album. Was suffering the entire time.
Listened to this one twice to cleanse myself of the K*d R*ck album. This whole album is truly immaculate. I wish I could listen to this again for the first time, but I'm grateful I can keep listening to it over and over (and over and over) again.
Not my favorite Fleetwood Mac album, still incredible
I really like "Coming Down", great psychadelic/experimental rock. Other than that, I felt like I was being chased by a clown on meth.
I love the kung fu theme throughout. There are really great features, and it's so impressive lyrically.
This album was such a blast from the past! Loved listening to it again
Really enjoyed this whole album. Anything that ends with Free Bird has to be good
Really liked some songs, really disliked others
Saying someone can burn your house and steal your car as long as they don't mess with your shoes is crazy imo
Please no more elvis costello on here
adding every one of his "woo"s straight to my bloodstream
Iconic fucking album!!!! Now eagerly waiting to see if George Clinton's other genius freaky funky album baby Maggot Brain makes the list too. LONG LIVE P-FUNKKKK
Never really heard anything like this, but 100% would listen again
TIL that Bruce Springsteen has a really depressing album called Nebraska
Loved some of it and kinda hated some of it too
respect the medium but not for me
Voice, horns, lyricism, feeling, - this album has everything
Great album. My siblings and I used to perform Drain You on Rock Band as kids which, listening back to it, is completely insane. Favorites: Something in the Way, Come as You Are. Least Favorite: Endless, Nameless
