A solid bluesy album, with psych rock and folk tones. Definitely a good album for a road trip or late night drive.
An instant classic electronic album. The sampling and transitions were really fun, lots of catchy tracks. I wasn't too familiar with Fatboy Silm, but turns out I already knew like 3 songs on the album.
A dreamy synthy pop album, that mixes in some rock. Theres obviously some bigger hits on this album, but every track is terrific!
I really loved this album. It's a cool mix of funky pop and dreamy R&B. The Beatles cover was also a fun surprise!
I'm not super familiar with the dance/electronic genre. I had a mixed experience with this. Some tracks I wasn't not a fan of, others I was indifferent to, but often found them fading into the background. Overall I would say a well produced album that just isn't my cup of tea.
Didn't know what to expect with this, as I'm really not familiar with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I was pleasantly surprised with this album. It's definitely a classic rock and roll album, I mean, American Girl?! But there's hints of prog rock, blues and more.
I have never hear of this group, but I loved this album! It's a really fun blend of punk and rock. I'll definitely be checking out more!
This is a pretty solid rock album. There are a couple parts where it creeps too close to country for my taste, but still a fun album. I mean it has the iconic song "You Can't Always Get What You Want"!!!
Dark and moody melodies with a soft, gritty voice. I absolutely loved this album's vibe, I've been meaning to check out more by Mr. Cohen and this just shows I need to!
I loved this. It's funky, smooth with a bit of soul. An extremely 80's sounding album, in all the best ways!
This is a pretty cool live rock album. I don't think there's anything too mind blowing, but still a fun time.
I know Coldplay gets a lot of hate, but they nail exactly the vibe they're going for. I think this album does a good job of showcasing their strengths.
I'm not super knowable on folk-rock, but I had a lot of fun with this. Will be listening to more!
Loved this whole album! I had a blast with every track. The hits are popular for a reason, but every song feels like it could be an iconic track. I will be picking this up on vinyl on day!
Another album where I've loved the popular songs for years, but also really liked the other tracks. It's definitely a classic rock album for a reason!
This was a solid pop album. I obviously knew the titular track, but hadn’t listened to it all the way through and honestly liked some of the other tracks more. More of an R&B vibe than I expected!
This was a lot of fun to listen to! It's obviously full of pop and funk, but the slower songs were also done well and added a good variety of tracks.
I really liked the style of this album. I wasn't familiar with "Cocteau Twins" at all, but will be gladly diving deeper into their repertoire.
This is such a good album!!! Probably one of Bowie's best!
This was a difficult one to rate, as I didn't love it but also can recognize it's very good at what it's trying to be. Overall I'd say not my cup of tea but can totally understand others loving it.
Heard of her but never checked out her stuff. Not what I'd usually listen to but I really liked this!
This is an excellent bluesy rock album. I fully listened to it for the first time this year as it was the 40th anniversary, but loved having an excus to give it another listen through.
This is one of my all time favourite albums. So happy to have a reason to listen to it today. Every track is just exceptional!
I appreciated this and would give it another listen, but I feel like this just isn't my vibe.
I'm not super familiar with the electronic genre. I enjoyed this album, but didn't fine it had anything revolutionary.
Another band I've not listened to much of. I really enjoyed listening through this live album as it's felt like seeing a classic rock show. I'd love to hear more of their studio stuff.
Originally I thought this was good and 3 stars, but after another listen I actually really like this one. It's a rock album but dips into punk a lot and has some lighter slower tracks. A cool exploration of the rock genre.
I loved this one. I knew a few of the tracks already, but the other ones were just as good. A very fun synth-pop/rock time!
I love The Cure but I hadn't heard this one. I didn't recognize the tracks, but I really enjoyed listening though this. It's slow with a light, airy feel to it
Just a solid 40 minutes of jazz
This is an album I've probably heard many times growing up, but ad no clue what it was called. It's a solid classic Christmas compilation!
I've never listened through a Beastie Boys album before, only really hearing the hits before, and I actually really enjoyed it! It was basically what I expected, but was still a fun listen and some classic hiphop tracks!
This is another band where I've never listen through a whole album before. I obviously knew a bunch of songs by them, and in fact I saw them at OSH this year, but I hadn't given them a proper listen. I really like this one, it's got a fun punky-rock vibe. I'll have to dedicate more time to their music!
Thought I'd never heard of these guys, then realized of course I know "A Message To Rudy". I really like their style, it's like an offshoot of punk but mixed with an almost ska-like feel. Very cool!
This an artist that I knew the name, but couldn't really tell you a song by them. I really like the vibe of this album, kind of reminds me of Keane, one of my OG fav bands!
Wow, wow, wow! This is an album that feels like it was made for me! It's trippy, it's funky, it's such a fun time!!! I NEED it on vinyl immediately!
It's smooth. It's funky. It's such a good album!!!
I didn't expect to like this album as much as I do! I'm not too familiar with Beck, but I found this album reminded me of some of my favourite artists like Djo and The Flaming Lips
A solid grunge/garage rock album, no wonder, since they were a big influence on Nirvana
I'm really not a country fan, so I was ready to give this 1 star from the get go. But I figured I should at least listen to it, which I'm glad I did, as there were honestly a couple songs I had fun with. Still not a fan of country though.
An absolute classic in the hip-hop genre. I've never to N.W.A. myself, but I instantly recognized so many classic tracks. "Express Yourself" was a really fun surprise!
This is kind of a mixed bag for me. I wouldn't say there's any songs I dislike, it just doesn't feel like they all belong on the same album. It's a fun time, it's just not the most cohesive album.
I know I said it before, but this album has such a Keane vibe. I loved this and will definitely listen to it again!
I think this is a decent album, there's just a few moments that go a bit too folksy for me. Maybe I'll change my opinion on another listen through, which I'd like to do sometime
I tried my best to give this a fair shot, but I just find her music so bland. I'm not sayings it's bad, it's just not my thing.
Never listened to them before but quite liked this album, it's quite punky but borders on metal. I'd definitely listen to more of their stuff!
I LOVE this band! Was originally only familiar with their iconic "Heads Will Roll" but after seeing them at Osheaga, I fell in love! They're a band that doesn't have a bad album, and this album is a great showcase of their range. They've got fun pop bops, more aggressive rock and some slower ones on there too. Thank you for giving me a reason to listen to The Yeah Yeah Yeah's today!
I can see why some would be into this, but it's just not my cup of tea
After listening to the first line, I was thinking this guy ripped off The Smiths... had no clue he did solo stuff! I liked it, I just wouldn't be able to distinguish this from The Smiths.
I feel like I've been slacking on my Prince listening! He's an artist I've always heard and knew the hits, but have never goen out of my to listen too. I think this is a travestry because I absolutely love everything I've heard recently, and this album is the same. I love the funky groovy vibe that's found throughout this album. I will definitely be diving further into the Prince catalog when I have the chance!
It's soulful, it's jazzy, it's a good time! You can't go wrong with Ray Charles!
This was an interesting listen, as I had no clue what kind of genre it would be. I found myself really enjoying some songs but others I found a bit boring. I like it and would listen to it again, but I'm not in a rush to own it.
Had a lot of fun with this one. I'm just kinda getting into the Blues genre and this was a good way to get a few different vibes, as there's a lot of features on this album. Overall I'd say I quite enjoyed it and will be listening to more of Mr. Hooker.
I had fun listening to this one, always love some British rap! But overall there's nothing revolutionary here, at least for me personally. I enjoyed my listen and would listen to more, I just don't think I'd think of throwing them on myself.
