Really enjoyed some of the ones I hadn't heard before - death on two legs!!!
Some bangers on here too. Definitely relisten.
5/5
sunshyine
everything blended together after a while
3/5
Love roundabout
Long and sprawling much like the instrumental sections in all the long songs. Tha amount of songs over 5 mins put me off a bit, pushed it down from a 4 to a 3.
Very Christmassy - got the vibe going
U2. classic but not exceptional
funky bassline
I'm actually enjoying this way more than I thought I would
2.5/5

Probably won't listen to again.
All the songs feel pointless in a way. Literally a fever dream personified.
Started off bad, but didn't get worse.
i like the jazz but why is there is much talking. Like it's taking up half the run time. I do like live albums and jazz tho so 5/5
wasn't sure about on any other day but enjoyed the rest. Solid 4.
short one today. I really like old country music however this was just alright. Not very upbeat.
Fairport convention featured!!! I love this album so much.
All of these songs felt slightly too fast and made me a bit on edge. Definitely some good songs but the live tracks were definitely unneeded.
All these songs are so short they just feel like they're whizzing by. They all kinda sound the same too which isn't helping.
U2 is a mid band and this is a mid album. Mysterious ways is a certified banger though
the tracks are so long but i think it adds to the instrumentalism. When that song says 'play that funky music white boy', this is what it means.
3.5 rounded to a 4
why are we using cow bells in pop music and why do they kinda work. Legit sounds like it's straight from high school musical.
2.5 rounded down
This is apparently about a man in a coma hallucinating who decides to kill himself. This makes me feel like that man. I hate this.
His voice felt quite tired but I did like the story the songs had. They all felt quite poetic and just overall had a sad vibe. I think I would listen to some songs again
Coldplay are just one of those bands that are solid. This album has some really nice songs that are just right when in a certain kind of mood. They feel gentle and like a warm blanket. Will definitely listen to again. sparks :(
This sound kinda reminds me of Blondie with the drums and guitar creating a quick beat. These guys do it better though. Quite unmemorable but its not very punky on the punk scale so it can have a 3
This feels very reminiscent of when it was made. I really like this and will definitely relisten. The intro tracks really help bridge the gaps between each song so it feels like a very cohesive album to listen to. I might even consider upgrading this to a 5 on the second listen
Neil Young just can't illicit any emotion in me. He is a mid artist with a mid sound. I get why some people hate him and I get why some people love him. I am neither.
The vibrato is reminiscent of Hugh Jackman's in the worse way possible and overall doesn't sound that great. It's a shame because the Bee Gees have some great (disco) albums and it's honestly an absolute travesty that 'Saturday Night Fever' isn't on this list. This genuinely make me wonder how they even got the gig for that album because this is uninspiring in every way (especially the lyrics). 1.5 rounded down
Not exceptionally memorable but a nice background listen
The first song was good but it just went downhill from there. This is very unmemorable
I must admit I don't really know that many rolling stones songs bit I really liked the blues influence this had and the mix of different genres
This whole album feels very cosy and chilled out. I can imagine listening to this whilst painting late at night.
I thought this was going to be another rubbish punk album but was pleasantly surprised by the reggae influence this had. It made it much more palatable. I wouldn't say their voices are the best, but they got the job done. Some parts felt a bit discordant but I think that was probably intentional
I understand why there is some hype around it, it is clearly very experimental but psychedelic rock stuff is not really my thing. I feel like if someone else had made this it wouldn't have anywhere near the kind of reception it did have. Bowie has done so much better that this is just a bit of a let down.
The slew of country albums lately has made me more adverse to them. This wasnt yeehaw cowboy country as much but it still had it's moments. The blend of country and pop was kinda weird. 2.5 rounded down
The voices get lost behind the sound the instruments, but I'm not sure hearing them would have made this experience any better. The cover art is cool though
This felt like an angsty teenagers take on what love is. Lyrics are laughable (why talking about animals so much!?), vocals could be better but the instrumentation was ok
Echoes of Simon and Garfunkel but much more upbeat - very pleasant
Simple lyrics for a simple man and a simple album. Why is Amazing Grace just thrown in at the end of one of the songs, kinda weird.
On another note Rod Stewart's hair cut reminds me of an emu
A lot going on but in a good way. The kind of music you play loudly with the windows down while driving through the country. Just overall happy vibes.
3.5 rounded down, but it was close
I'm finding it hard to separate my hatred for Kanye West from this album. Some songs were good, however some were awful. 2.5 rounded down
Funkier than I remember - I really like the bassline. Talking heads are fun to listen to but I feel like this album isn't their best
Mid album - everything felt quite unfinished, more like works in progress rather than a finished album
I found it hard to connect with the music due to not being able to u understand the lyrics. But the busyness of the instruments wasn't my fave
I love this album, not as much as his other one but I still really enjoyed this. The songs feel sad and mournful and feel like a frosty winter morning. I will definitely relisten to
The first track echoed around my head phones and made me quite uncomfortable as I was listening, it felt like they were whispering to me.
Not cool.
The rest felt flat and the vocals were not very good.
On a side note who makes a rock album and decides 'hot poop' would be a good track name?
I love a saxophone in music - immediately elevates it. I really love the funky pop vibes, I think he gets it just right. This is a bite sized crossover of different genres done right. May even upgrade to a 5 when I relisten
This is a hard one, I do like Elvis in general. and enjoy some of his more popular songs. I can absolutely see why he was so popular in the 50s, but this album didn't really stand out
This was a pleasant listen, George Harrison has a really nice voice which is nicely complimented by the guitar. I miss when music was this simple. I do think it lost it's way by the end however and that it could have been condensed down a bit.
Felt weird that all of these white guys were using such cultural music and not giving any credit. The concepts were interesting but I don't think the execution was the best, especially the singing.
When an artist's top two songs are a bad cover of Wonderwall followed by an American sounding song name, you know you're in trouble. Annoyingly catchy beats because the lyrics are bad.
I can't quite get on board with the Smiths style. It also sounds like the singer's droning on and on. The instrumental is quite cool though, and have the bonus on drowning the singer out quite a bit
Feels like a love letter to himself, his wife, prostitutes and a dog all in one.
It's ok - not really my kind of stuff though. They're a bit loud
Classic Beatles but before they really figured out what they were doing. Reminiscent of a raw 60s style but not particularly good.
Hasn't aged well, and probably wasn't that great when it came out either. He can't rap or sing and the album really suffers from the degrading language he uses. It feels unnecessary and uncouth
Some of the best guitar bits in an album so far. Nice cohesive feel overall but a bit unmemorable
When people say they've got the blues they've got this guy.
Sounded a lot older than it is. The blend of instruments (particularly the guitar) was really nice. Enjoyed more than I though
Classic rock. No other notes
They seem quite cool, and the guitar definitely elevates this. Punky stuff isn't really my vibe though
I got up and had a dance party
Weird but fun. He has a very pleasant reading voice but not really sure we it was added in here
Recognised a few of these songs and enjoyed the whole listening experience. Not better than their first album (Neil Young I'm looking at you) but overall good
I feel like I'm not into music enough to understand and rate this properly. Also apparently Rod Stewart is lurking in there somewhere
Experimental and rocky all in one. Quite cool
Not as distinctive as some of their later stuff but you can see how they develop from here to get there. A nice listen
The first song sounds like she's learning to whisper for the first time.
Pop music back when it was cool. Really liked this - upbeat and funky but not in an overbearing way
I recognised way more songs than I thought! Their sound is so crisp with interesting layering - the synth does a lot for their sound.
The violin is cool but the rest sounds like someone's learnt what an instrument is and is just going full ham. Not really my thing
Really cool sound with harmonies that really compliment the music. In a way I think the language barrier benefitted this as I was able to focus on the way the words fit with the melodies better.
A shame not all of the songs were on Spotify, but otherwise enjoyable
ok, ok, they're a bit shouty but I can see why they're liked a lot
